I have said it time and time. Make it 10k per liter and in 6 months, government will tell you they are paying subside, that the landing cost is 15k. Increasing price of fuel is not the solution as it will cause inflation, it has happened all through the years, from N89 to the current 950. Are we too dense to realise this? |

Curious346: Here he is paying condolences to ElshanAuto who died in a car accident in July 2021. Not knowing he too will die in a car accident around same month just 3yrs later This is so sad. I remember commenting 2 years ago on gazuzz's WhatsApp profile video in which he was firing his hyundai or kia cerato one of those tiny Korean cars. If I remember right he was doing about 180 kmph+. I jokenly asked if it was this tiny car he was firing like that. In his usual humorous self, his response was "yep, small nyash is a legend". May his soul rest in peace if this news is true. A great guy. |

crazygod: Can't other independent marketers buy straight from Dangote? Why wait for NNPCL? I thought downstream sector has been fully 'deregulated'. Some economic terms no just make sense for Nigeria matter. How will nnpc then sell the the newly arrived stock from abroad if marketers are lifting the obviously cheaper Dangote fuel? |
Business › Re: NNPC Yet To Lift Our Petrol - Dangote by nedekid: 2:07pm On Sep 05, 2024 |
Ha! Nnpc truck have not even started lifting the Dangote petrol? Wonders shall never end!. From basic understanding, nnpc said 3 vessels of imported fuel just arrived the ports. This may mean the imported ones have to be sold off before Dangote fuel will be lifted. Abi will cabal let their billions invested in imported fuel go to waste? That may be the reason nnpc said only them will lift Dangote fuel for now. Imagine this is not the case and independent marketers could just go to Dangote and load, it will make all their just arrived imported stock not sellable. It is all about personal interest, meanwhile ordinary Nigerians are suffering! |

immortalcrown: I will limit my judgement to the employer's claim.
1. How did the employer discover that the lense he bought from the employee was a stolen one?
2. What has the employer done about the lense? Has he reported it to the police or has he located the owner? Or, is he an accomplice (a beneficiary of theft)?
3. In fact, how is the story of the lense related to the arrest and the detention of the employee? Or, is the employer using that story to manipulate the public?
4. As for the employee being a loan defaulter and thief, it may be true or false. I expect the employer to react to the allegations. He does not need to. He has said his side of the story. Since it is not a legal matter, he owes no further explanation. |

nairalanda1: It does not matter who is in charge.
Since the 1980's they have been telling NIgerians to remove subsidy, that it is costing too much money, etc. And everytime, Nigerian leaders and people have said no, and we have even abused IMF finish.
Over time, the strain and stress in keeping subsidy has led to this situation. We kept on accumulating debt, meanwhile lack of proftiablity of domestic refining led to our refineries breaking down. Then came the usual corruption because free money, and the usual looting. Smuggling intensified...plus no one until recently wanted to invest in domestic refining because subsidy in essence meant selling at a loss
What we have here is the end result of keeping an unstuatinable policy. If we had voted in obi...it won't have changed anything.
Because by August 2022, we were using 90% of our revenue to service debts. Infact, by 2021, some governors were crying that there was already no money for day to day activities
I am not defending tinubu, I even blame him for the mess we have now , and in a way, karma is dealing with him. But anyone who thinks that we were not going to reach this point...when the warning signs have been there for decades.....better wipe their eyes and see again
All in all, in 2012, we should have removed this subsidy, and have been done with it. But most of you were complaining then, and hailing the OJota people. Including tinubu and buhari. Buhari took over and used our limited money to keep fuel cheap...and made the debt matter worse even. Now here we are forced to take a decision that should have been taken...as I said,...eons ago.
Forget religion. What I know is, in 2022, we were in a shitty state...and something had to give. Looks like it is the fuel subsidy.
Because if we had kept fuel at N65 to date, the kind of deficit and debt we would have had would have been ginormous. You are naive. How can you say it does not matter who is incharge. You give 5 people 1m to manage with the same circumstances and you say in 1 year all 5 will have the same results? If one uses his 1m to marry a new wife, the other uses his to buy a car for personal use (liability), another uses the money to pay rent, the fourth invest his money with shaddy 419 that chops it, the fifth takes the money, invest it in his business, buys more stock for his shop, trades with it, cuts costs, turns around the money several times, does not buy car, house, rent etc. At the end of 1 year the 5th person has turned 1m into 5m while the other 4 are left with nothing, giving different excuses why the money was not enough to make way with. How do you think you will hand over a country to people that have never traded, ran a business, turned N1 to N2 and think it will work? People that at best were governors of a rich state that billions came from taxes yet made the state heavily debt ridden. Imagine giving them a state in debt to manage and expect them to run it, no way it will work. Had this country been handed over to Obi, atiku, ambode, osibanjo, adesina etc instead of the current charlatans with all their baggage, the outcome would have been different. |
