Yes. I strongly believe he and his brothers have American citizenship and investments in the US. I am curious, does the exchange rate affect some people who could do the same before it got so bad? As long as the world's reserve currency is the USD, it makes sense to own dollar-denominated investments.
From the recent recent outburst from jude ie their older brother after he was questioned by the efcc. He said he said after they shared some heavy money 3 ways, he and this twin bought property, ie condos in the US, while the other twin bought a range rover to propose to his wife, also a Bentley for himself. 200-300k if I remember right.
Anyway owning a condo will be heavy income as it would be rented out, possibly airb&b. Short let. Massive income in $$. Of course when visiting just as he is doing now, he also has a place to stay as he will suspend renting briefly.
If your income is in naija, no matter how rich you are, the recent devaluation has made you poorer, unable to afford previous lifestyle internationally.
We all need to seriously find some sort of abroad income in FX.

The proverb in Yoruba is: Bi omode laso bi agba, ko le lakisa bi agba. Literally interpreted as: No matter the clothes a child has, it can never match the old (used) clothes of the elderly. Meaning: no matter the experience garnered by the young, it can never match that of the elderly.

The truth is most of these women never love their husband in the first place.

They just settled for them because they have the fattest pocket and are able to fill the role of provider they need, so when they get to UK with more opportunities for women to make more money and empowerment, their husband become useless to them and they just want to bail out.
Bros, the bottomline is not if she loved you, the issue is never be in a position where your wife earns more than you, handles more responsibility. Oga once that happens, be her Mary magdaline or pastors daughter, her real colour will show. Let your wife pay school fees for once and see her tell people at work say na she de carry the whole responsibility for house. Politics › Re: High Electricity Tariff Will Kill Businesses – APC Chieftain, Joe Igbokwe Cries by nedekid: 4:55pm On Sep 08, 2024
RhinoChest:
While I understand Mr Igbokwe’s complaint, I do believe that the infrastructures around electricity will only get better if the tariff is market-reflective.

It’s no coincidence that since tariff has gone up, Genco’s have ramped up production and we want that trend to continue.

Also, gov is struggling to pay subsidy, which would mean more debt and poor infrastructure around electricity.

Once the super grid are on board, and metering gap is reduced, you would see more liquidity in the market, which would mean more competition, thereby lowering cost in the long run.

Mr President should tell oil importers to use their huge capital to transition into becoming Gencos, as electricity industry is going through a revolution and will be awash with liquidity very soon. They should let local refineries thrive.

NNPC just announced they are about to build a new power plant. This signals that increase in electricity tariff is already attracting investors.
you do not understand how Nigeria works.

Dollar sold for N200, today it is N1,600.
Fuel sold for N97, today it sells for N1200 to N1300.
Electricity tariff is outrageous.
Higher education tuition is extremely expensive.
Super pack indomie was N40 to N50 in 2014, today it is N350 to N400.

Let him make it 5k, Nigerians will still buy. Some here will say he built Lagos and is building Nigeria, just as they praised buhari till he left the country as he did. Mind you after making it 5k, give him 6months tops, they will tell you they are paying subsidy and it should be 10k.
Meanwhile na to change our suv, for smaller cars to survive. The cheapest place to buy motor na UK. Problem is that you have to convert it to left side drive.
Now, even if you buy a cheap £1500 car, used £1k to ship, that is already 5m. You will probably use 4m to clear, that comes to 9m! Another 500k to convert ie 9.5m!. The same car would have cost you 900k back the 2015 when these apc charlatans, misfits, spreaders of mass poverty, criminals, crooks hijacked the country.

The example you use isn't giving credence to your point and here's why, a 10 year old vehicle used by two individuals with different maintenance practice would be in different working and physical conditions and this has nothing to do with their skin colour but has everything to do with their approach to maintenance as individuals.

There are white men who are as careless as carelessness can go and also black men who are as meticulous as being meticulous can be and vice versa, it has everything to do with individuals and nothing to do with skin colour.

Yes the black society is known for its poor maintenance culture but as I have maintained this has everything to do with our lack of proper approach in that regard as a people which can be changed, it's a habit that is picked and can be dropped (as individuals), a culture which can be changed or abandoned ( as a people), but it is certainly not a function of our DNA as though it were something embedded in every black person naturally.
Dna is used as a metaphor in this context.

So the yatch was likely registered in Nigeria?

Useless people they will always find something bad to say about it so with is the advantage huh
There is nothing useless in expressing concerns. It is for people to get enlightened.
I wrote here sometime back of how I bought diesel, very clear, clean looking diesel, unlike the dirty coloured ones we were used to in naija. I bought a full tank around 11pm. The next morning, left by 4.30am and I had barely driven 20km when my injector light started flashing. On Lagos- ibadan Expressway I had to turn back.
My tank was drained, it was very clean, that was when I saw the diesel was not the usual dirty type we buy in naija. I found out it was from Dangote refinary. It was months later we heard the controversy of high sulphur content when that gov official supporting importation accused Dangote of high sulphur fuel.
Forget how much I spent, infact after changing nozzles it did not work, some started saying brainbox, some said to change the engine and injectors to manual one. I told them to stop. Bottomline, I had to import a vehicle specific obd cable from China to diagnose the issue. It was still injectors. It was fixed at great cost. Took over a month. Lots of money lost and business cancelled, all because I filled my tank with faulty diesel.
I even had to order service parts from UK at great cost to fix the vehicle.
On the positive side, Dangote is a country saver, but he has to endeavour to give quality fuel.

Who you vote has consequences. Voting apc/buhari/tinubu 2015, turned the tide of progress to retrogression, poverty, disease etc. Putting Tinubu there further consolidated and rewarded failure of apc.
Who is in charge make a huge difference. As it is said, when the wicked is in power, the people groan, the opposite is when the righteous is there. A clear example was the few months osibanjo took over when buhari was on vacation in UK. Peace fell on the land, naira immediately appreciated, sars and that other dreaded security agency stopped their shenanigans, people were happy. Immediately buhari returned all reversed.
We currently are like the biblical pikins of Israel with a pharaoh bossing over us.
Question is do we ever learn?.
