Mayowais419: Getting there on Friday which is 20th my wife meets 3 guys there who are there because of him so she tell the new development that they need to deposit 50k out of the 104k before they can sign the undertaking. After going back and forth and much begging they said everything 3 of them can gather now is 20k so we agreed to take it and let them sign the undertaking. That he will be paying 20k weekly for the next 4 weeks.
So they went to go and meet the DPO and explain to him but the DPO insisted that it is either they pay everything which is 104k or they will charge him to court. So we told the police lady that we don't want to go to court again and that we want to withdraw the case since they are ready to drop 20k and signed undertaking.
So she drafted the undertaking and one of the guys signed it, then they sent the 20k to my wife account. But they said before they can release him we have to go and tell the DPO that we want to drop the case and settle outside police station. Unfortunately the DPO was not around so my wife waited from 2pm to 5pm for the DPO.
But while waiting something happened.
1.) they asked those guys that contribute the money that who will pay for the bail and all of them said they don't have any money with them again and they don't now.
2.) immediately they deposited the 20k, the police lady in charge of the case said my wife must give her 10% of what they pay which is 2k as their own percentage. Mind you they collect 10k the first day we reported the case. So I asked my wife not to give her anything that we will pay that when he fully paid the debt. because if it is not wickedness someone is owning me 104k and was able to pay 20k and you guys still want to collect from that. The money don't even cover the expenses of what we have been spending since this incident happened.
So because of that the police lady tore the undertaking, took the guy back to the cell and called a POS attendant outside the station that my wife should transfer the money to her or she will not allow her to go. I believe the reason why she use POS is because if kasala burst it will not be trackable.
So after the DPO arrived my wife wanted to go and meet him and tell him we are not doing the case again. but the police lady didn't allow her to go in.
She ( the police lady ) went into the DPO office and come and said DPO said they will charge the guy to court on Monday. I asked my wife to tell him that I don't want to do court case again because I don't have any money to spend again.
And my wife left. It was later the other guys who contributed the money called me and started talking that why did my wife not send them back the money since they are not releasing the guy as agreed and why sending the money to the police lady. Me just tell them say make they go police station on Monday to sort it out themselves. Because the stress is too much and na me they spend money na police they collect m so I'm not longer interested in the case.
I have always heard bad things about the Nigeria police but this is the first time I experienced it first hand. All that those people care about is money and nothing else. I decided to share this just in case you have a similar case, police should be your last option or better still leave m for God. Those guys are money sucking vampires Oga, some wahala is not worth it. Going to do police case ontop such amount means you will likely spend close to or more than the money you wish to recover. You will waste time you should use on better activity, finally the likelyhood you will carry bedbugs aka "students" to your house from police station is high. That one worse pass the 100k. Lol. See, some time back, I got to learn a guest and his wife had stayed in my hotel without paying, they paid for a while, then owed for 2 days, paid one day, before you know the money had ballooned to 450k+, the man kept promising and the receptionist hid it so she does not loose her job. The man storied he went to Abuja to get money, leaving his nursing wife in the room, who refused to be evicted till her husband returned. Na so money pile to 450k and running. We had to get lawyer who petitioned police, the lady got arrested and taken to station. Last last she had to be released as a nursing mother. Lawyer advice us to cut our loses and run, atleast we had our room back to rent out. Na sk 450k lost, meanwhile we spent roughly 200k for the wahala. Total loss 650k. No be juju be dat? |

DeLaRue: How?
The Tinubus are super wealthy. And they were before Mr Tinubu became President.
In fact during the last election campaign, social media was awash with claims that the guy drives a lamborgini.
If that's true, the guy is probably worth billions. So who knows, N500m donation might not be too much for him personally.
It is even possible that he only informed his dad that he would be donating N500m and his papa said, 'oh that's kind of you, please extend my greetings to the people of Bornu.'
Probably nothing more than that.
The relationship some people have with N500m is the same as some have with N500,000, or N50,000.
That's life. No doubt they are wealthy, but what is the source of the wealth? As someone once said, wealth without enterprise. Just as Mr Walter white had millions in breaking bad. |

hotseat: The exhortation of Edolites by Atiku not to cast their votes for the APC, though a welcome development, doesn't exonerate the PDP from the current rot in the country.
For good 16 years of the PDP leadership, they set the template for bad governance, profligacy and sundry vices.
They became so obsessed with power that they went about boasting that they would rule Nigeria for straight 60 years only for them to be ironically kicked out just after 16 years in power.
Today, Atiku and the PDP are born-again politrickcians?
Wow!
The APC is the Siamese twin brother of the PDP!
Same wine, different bottles!
Let Edolites by the judge!
@hotseat Oga, never compare pdp to apc. The worst of pdp is 1000 times better than apc. Pdp ruled Nigeria for 16 years, and in that time naira moved N180 to £1 to N250 to £1. Apc in 9 years moved naira from N250 to N2200 for £1! You cannot handover a whole country to a criminal organisation, a Chicago style mafia and expect things to work, yes it will work, but for the criminal organisation. |

detopea1: The situation is terrible. Getting a job that needs transport to and fro now looks like slavery .
I previously created a topic about an employer that refused to disclose salary range.
Days ago on Facebook, I posted in a group that I needed a job that can pay at least 100,000 naira monthly. Same employer contacted me. I had to remind him that we have spoken before. This time, he had no choice but decided to state the salary. It's a position of a secretary and he's said the salary is 40k.
Transport to and fro will cost me 1,000 daily. So let's assume 25,000 naira is spent on transport, leaving a balance of 15,000 naira. Will 15,000 naira be enough to feed me in a month? That's 500 naira a day. Can 166 naira put food on the table? Other expenses nko?
I told him it can't work for me. And he asked me to find anyone that can take the job.
This life eh.. Sometimes, I wish the night never ends. Cos once it's morning, depression sets in.
When will this phase be over? I remember few years someone sent me $200 for good time. I got N28k. That N40k would have been roughly $285. Alas today it is just $24! The amazing thing you still see people on this forum chanting apc and tweaking for blabablu. Look at apc being able to present a candidate for Edo elections and still have a croud attending rallies. blowjohn: Yes. African countries are very wary of chinese loans.
The most dangerous enemy is not the one that fights loud wars, but those that use deception to enslave another country.
America threatened to sanction Nigeria for refusing gay rights. Good point. But do u know how many Americans stood with us? Do u know how many Americans attacks their government for meddling in our private lives?
But look at China... Giving loans and still enslaving us with the loans. Hang on. This is exactly why I spoke of western propaganda and it's influence. They say China enslaved with loans? OK, all the loans the West through IMF, world bank and the rest have given over the past 50 years, what have you seen on ground to show for it? Loans that they intentionally hand over to african politicians, at high interest rates, the politicians are then encouraged to steal the money and deposit back in western banks, the people are left with nothing on ground but burdened with interest payments for generations. Heck Ned nwoko took the imf Abi world bank to court and won huge refunds for Nigeria for interest paid on non existing or over charged loans. China on the other hand gives you a loan eg for an airport. They then handover the contract to a Chinese company eg ccecc. The ccecc builds the airport with Nigerian and chinese engineers and labour. At the end if the day, you have an airport, you have roads, bridges, trains, rail, ports etc phisically on ground. How many Europeans have you seen on ground adding value, employing Nigerians? Very few. I will give you an example, 2years ago, an large empty warehouse next to my office, an agent brought those Chinese to look a it. They leased it from the elderly owner, paid him handsomely. They brought in equipments from China, brought their builders from kano. Within a month inside that place was like abroad. The chinese live inside, a section as the residence, the other side the factory producing nylons, flip flops etc. Guy, the first week they hired 50 locals, infact most business in the area lost workers as the Chinese was paying 3x the average salary. After 2weeks, they employed another 50! See wahala, once your worker says he cannot come to work eg feeling ill etc, oga, he has gone for interview with that Chinese company and you no go see am again. Lol even me had to add money on my workers salaries make China man no collect them. Lol They are living here, producing, exporting to neighbouring countries too. If not for the Chinese, do you think all the brand new gleeming infrastructure you see in naija wound have been built? Look at 3rd mainland Bridge built by julius berger, every year you hear of billions spent to fix it, yet was still a death trap. Have you passed it recently after ccecc renovated the bridge? It is even better that when JB built it brand new! |

blowjohn: Between America and China, which country is more likely to kill citizens of another country out of revenge?
My answer is China My dear, American propaganda has brainwashed you over the years, right from their movies, where others are bad, while they are good guys. Ie badman and goodman. Mention anywhere in the world where there is conflict, one constant is there is the US. Which country has killed more citizens of another country in the last 50 years, that has funded regime changes in Africa through violence, from Congo, Libya etc. To the support of apartheid in South Africa. Have you ever heard of China traveling thousands of miles from their borders to cause trouble, kill, invade others as the US has done all over the world?Heck the US even threatened to sanction Nigerians for not being gays. |

Phones › Re: NCC To Begin Deployment Of 6GHz Spectrum In Nigeria by nedekid: 8:15am On Sep 20, 2024 |
What ever spectrum is used, ncc should ensure it is Chinese brand and not American or European. Infact all electronic gadgets phones etc from the West should be discouraged from entering the country. Why? From the recent developments in the middle east, it has shown that they can place bombs and software in phones, communication infrastructure etc to disable and harm users once there is a disagreement. They have gone past the level of just sanctions on items you bought with hard-earned money. How was qadaffi killed? His special vehicle sold to by the French was tracked through devices hidden in it. Why did putin ditch his pull an Mercedes for a Russian built car, why is he also using a fully russian built aircraft? I bet you it is for the same reason. The US can remotely detonate a device installed in an aircraft built by them causing it to crash. Israel just let the cat out of the bag. Imagine your base stations filled with equipments from Nokia, Motorola, seimens, nec parts. They will just send a code, all will blowup. |

Car Talk › Re: Innoson Electric Cars Driven For 5 Days Without Battery Running Down (vid, pix) by nedekid: 6:40pm On Sep 19, 2024 |
SmartPolician: The best way to test the strength (how long it can last before running down) of its battery is to use its mileage, not the number of days driven. The problem now is that most Nigerians cannot afford a brand new car...that's why we still buy tokunbo cars of over 15 years ago. Innoson needs to start setting up strategic locations where users can charge their EVs. For now, forget it, EVs will only be charged at home. The cost of the vehicles and the devastated purchasing power of Nigerians by the apc misfits will make them affordable, so any investment in charging stations will be unviabe. On the other hand private folks could setup charging stations by selling electricity to eV users through an app. Eg you register your station on Google map or a specialised app, someone driving from Lagos to enugu can plan his trip by booking charging along the route, or in emergency, stop at the closest charging agent. It will just be like the POS rovolution. |
