To be honest, I don’t understand what’s going on with our military anymore. Are they not tired of the constant menace from these bandits?

For years, we keep hearing how billions meant for weapons and modern equipment are being diverted into private pockets. But did it never occur to those in charge that their greed was putting their own lives and their families’ lives at risk too?

It’s frustrating. Sometimes it feels like something is deeply wrong with the black man's mindset when it comes to leadership. I refuse to believe that the Nigerian military lacks the capacity to completely clear out these ragtag militias. The truth is, too many people are benefitting from the chaos these groups create. That’s why there’s always delay, excuses, and slow response whenever it’s time to actually confront them.

Now that top officers and generals themselves are becoming targets for kidnapping, maybe just maybe they will finally sit up and act with the urgency the situation requires.

Whatever may be said about Wike, Awwal Gambo and his northern military cronies have absolutely dragged Nigeria as whole in the mud....It's a damn shame that a retired CNS can countermand an extant Minister even when the Commander-in-Chief has not recalled him to active service in line with the Armed forces Act...

Check how most of the people baying blood over this issue are Northerners...From Buratai to Mattawale...Telling a whole Minister to apologize to a Lieutenant and a retired CNS for doing his legitimate duty...

Imagine the tables were turned and a South Eastern Soldier at the behest of retired South Eastern CNS rubbishes a northern FCT Minister over a land which that South Eastern CNS has no valid title over...Nigeria would have burned.. Northerners in Kano would have started slaughtering Southerners for such disrespect to their son.....

And the most unfortunate part is that the sole cause of this upheaval is a retired but entitled Northern CNS who has no business issuing commands to Countermand a sitting Minister..The Armed Forces Act is clear that retired soldiers are civilians until recalled to "active duty"...When did Asiwaju recall Awwal Gambo out of retirement to active duty for him to be issuing such commands?

But because of irrational hate for Wike, many fail to see the tribal disrespect these northern officers permeate....It's always about them...it's always the Southerners they use to flex muscle...

Tinubu has done very well to ignore the towel-heads calling for Wike to apologize for doing his duty as FCT Minister.... They will shout themselves hoarse and sleep when they are tired...Northerners can hit their head on a concrete wall...Wike as FCT Minister is here to stay...

What was Abuja before Southern Oil money was pumped into it to make it the befitting capital it is today...If any group is entitled to be FCT Ministers for life, it's the Southerners whose resources were used to develop it, not some desert towel-heads hawking groundnut pyramids before oil was found in Oloibiri

Wike will not apologize and heaven will not fall..I stand with Wike...I stand with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.... Northerners harassing Southerners has to end!!!

The part in bold is the point a lot of Nigerians are missing. On what basis should our military be deployed to protect a construction site with a directive to shoot government officials who are on routine monitoring exercise? Are we in a war situation with another country over the property? Is that what we’ve reduced our armed personnel to? Instead of deploying soldiers to fight terrorism and protect the territorial integrity of Nigeria, we now deploy them with the directive to shoot government officials over an illegally acquired land. What a shame.

Like I’ve said before, all the soldiers involved in that illegal operation and show of shame including the person that deployed them to that site should have been arrested by the police and charged to court. I condone impunity far too much in this country and that’s why people get away with a lot of rubbish.

Beyond the obvious face-off with the corrupt Nigerian military establishment, the issue is already turning into a north-versus-south conflict and the northerners have never really been comfortable with a man from the Niger Delta running Abuja, so there...
