The agency works for the rich only, so it's no different than any other in Nigeria.

About two weeks ago, I wrote them that paystack illegally withheld my earnings and later refunded the money back to the senders for a service that I already provided to the customer. One was a gift. They refunded all without me nor the sender asking for a refund.

I checked online and saw that when Paystack did same thing in Ghana, it was the Central Bank of Ghana and similar agency like the FCCPC that intervened and recovered the money for the citizen. So, I emailed the FCCPC twice but they didn't reply. I emailed the CBN, EFCC, and others. No reply, except that the CBN sent an auto reply.

No agency came to my aid, and that's how I lost the money. I've been depressed ever since.

I've lost all hope in Nigeria as a country. I no longer believe in Nigeria. This country and it's institutions is completely useless to the citizens who they're meant to serve. I later got to know that it wasn't even Palmpay ongoings, it was a brand called Flexicash but it seems the brand is using or hiding under Palmpay to perpetrate such illegal practices and that makes Palmpay to be complicit.

First, a 7 day loan duration is illegal, unethical, lacks common sense and against Google Play Store policies. If Palmpay is on Playstore, then its loan services or subsidiary shouldn't contravene Playstore policies on loan and that makes Palmpay complicit. Also, adding daily overdue fee right from the 7th day until the debt is fully paid is very damaging and very unethical.

It's very embarrassing that in this 2025/2026, we still have some Mr. Shylocks in our regulated finance sectors who are ready to take pounds of flesh from their debtors.
