Balderdash angry

A house is an investment for the landlord. It is a tangible asset that always appreciates in value and he can always sell the house anytime at a profit in figures greater than what he built the house with.

Landlords are not expected to recoup the cost of building their houses in 10 years from tenant rents. The rent gotten is an additional income he can be using for his monthly expenses and the intent is never to recoup it from rents over a 10 or 12 year period.

We get things so wrong in Nigeria undecided
So where do they get it right elseware cos the last I checked it might even be worse in places like UK where you have buy- to- let properties where landlords buy and use rent to make mortgage payments, where venture capitalist such as blackrock is buying up all available properties ans driving rent to the high heavens.
Oga our landlords are even good compared to those abroad.

Otedola be forming saint,... But he has quickly forgotten he is among those who stole from the system and brought us to where we are today
Any evidence he stole from the system? You cannot just out of the blues allege someone stole from the system because he is astronomically rich. The man has said he never dealt in pms but rather diesel and ofcourse you know diesel was not part of the subsidy wahala. Unless you have evidence to the contrary and have money to defence yourself from billion naira lawsuit, better be careful of what you spew cos this otedola man has a reputation for holding people accountable for any infraction no matter the cost to him.

Oga, treasury bills, a form of government bond, pays 30% per annum. Least sum to buy it is 45m. Opay and others collect money from people and use it to buy treasury bills. The 18% Opay pays you is actually less of the 30% treasury bill attracts. The difference is their profit.

Yes, treasury bills pay 30% per annum.

Yes, the inflation rate is mad but it is better than losing your money doing business in Nigeria
Na wah, 30%?
To tell you the truth, I have been doing some research since I read your post. If one can buy them directly, why go through the banks who will cut inside the interest? Hmmm..

To compare, Is there any undeveloped land you will buy in Lagos or most major South cites that the price will not double in a year? I believe land banking is better but with more risk.
Yeah, land banking, some of my guys do apartments to in places such as lekki, ikoyi, vi, that axis, but you gats get lots of money to play around, and as you rightly said it is risky especially with virgin land.
Business › Re: Begging Culture In Nigeria Commercial Hubs by nedekid: 6:16pm On Sep 27, 2025
Nazgul:
It has gotten worse.

Our airport is horrible. Banks, churches, even where I live, the securities there wouldn't let you rest. If you're driving in or out, bye bye sir welcome sir happy weekend sir... Etc. Everywhere you turn to someone is begging you for money.

The other day I was visiting a friend around ayobo so I decided to go to Jendol (supermarket) to buy bread. I love their bread so much.

As I picked up the bread and was heading to the cashier to pay and leave, one able bodied guy just walked up to me and told me in fluent English to pay for him. I looked into his basket and saw it was filled with all sorts of things. So me way just carry bread I no get sense ba. I just looked at him and hissed and continued walking away.

Most people have taken begging as a job cos they make more money from it than people who work legitimately. And it has made people who genuinely need help unable to get it. These days I don't pay any attention to strangers walking up to me to ask for money.
Have you noticed those women traffic warders, lastma at AKOWONJO roundabout in front of Fcmb bank the way they beg for money? Infact it is embarrassing, people call them beggers, especially one fat black traffic police woman.

If na me, I won't do any business. I won't even risk it. I would simply use it to buy federal government bond that pays 30% through a third pary issuing house. If the money is up to 45m, I will simply buy the bond with CBN. But since the amount is not up to that amount, I will buy with save it with Opay, Fairmoney, Piggyvest, etc. They collect money from people and use it to by treasury bills issued by the government.

In a year, your 10m will become nearly 13m, which is almost 30% profit.

No sane person invests this amount in a business that is not certain n this balablue economy.
Oga, where you get this info sef, lol.
Which gov bond pays 30%?
Even opay will give you 18% on the first 300k and 9% on the rest of the money, beside you cannot even invest up to 5m.
Most banks will give you 14% per annum or lower, they will then use your money to buy government bonds at eg 20% or slightly more.
Some banks you can negotiate higher, i currently do 16% and have already negotiated 18% on the next circle.
The most 10m will give you at 16% is 350k in 3 months, 1.4m in 1year or 117k monthly after charges.
2m is small and wount be taken for FD, the most you can do with that is opay for all those mai mai change they call interest.
Omo, me learn am from once of my guys, him no de do an business again, he go enter one bank today, negotiate rate with manager, put the money for 3 months, collect him money go another bank, negotiate and put am for another 3 months, him say him do taya to do business. Lol.
The downside to this is that naija current inflation rate is said to be 22% which is higher than interest rates.
A alternative is to save in your Eg UK account but their interest rates no de pass 3-4% PA, the only thing na say if naira devaluate your money still holds value. But you have Eg capital of £50k, you earn more interest placing it in FD in naija banks that UK ones.

Oga, he gats pay, nothing like more to this story than reveled cause he had the opportunity to reveal any story in court.

Use their mobile phones to trace them!!!!

The FG should ask the Mobile Phone Companies to supply the Phone numbers and the names of their Registered Owners of all the Mobile phones that entered into that location together from elsewhere just before the time of the attack and that were there for the duration of the attack and the details of those mobile phones current locations !!

FG should then liaise with Cameroon military to arrest those people in possession of the phones

The Mobile phones of the attackers can be used to trace them even without the SIM card inside using their phones IMEI
