He won’t because this violence and terrorism does not affect oil and gas production and other sources of revenue.

The government in Nigeria has zero regard for the lives of her citizens and places zero premium on human life.

It’s a very unfortunate situation Nigerian live in. Worst yet, this government still have people who would support all of it’s inactions without a second thought.
But if he decides to act just as Jonathan did, is it not the same northerners that will claim their people are being killed?

Hangon, the queen rode on the emirs rolls Royce when she visited northern nigeria. That was a 2 door rolls.
It is on record she visited eastern Nigerian during the same period and while she was in enugu she also rode in a rolls Royce, this time a 4 door sedan. Did the emir remove two doors from his rolls Royce and then drove it down to kano for the queens use?

Oga we do not endure flies in our boli, amala or oha soup, which how casually you say it may be normal to you with your meals.
See, in front if my office premises we have a huge community of abokis, my gateman (and paddy) has a shop so lots of northerners hang out there as it is also where the solicit manual labour work. Omo, the food the abokis lady sells to them, if you eat it, make sure your immunity is strong because flagyl wount save you. Once I saw a hawker selling them some stuff looking like flat pastries from a glass box, I ask my aboki what it was, he said it was their food that I should remove eye say I be ajebutter make I no try am. Op, there is no way you can compare their hygiene to the worst southern food. People that can be eating and fly will be at risk of being eaten if it does not shift on time?

Those days you hear of sex education, some places even went as far as giving daily pills. Recently we heard of some parents giving their daughters family health options, there was uproar.
A lot of unwanted pregnancy could be avoided by taking cheap daily pills, by using day after pills or even depo provera. How will a girl knack, collect Ice-Cream, then go home and think nothing will happen? Some will look for schwepps drink to use to wash thinking it will stop pregnancy. What of the fellow that will do bumper to bumper then let the girl go without making sure she takes contraceptives, is that not irresponsible?
Sex education needs to be brought back to schools.

In this economy 500k is not much to start a income source that you are not directly involved with. Will you consider N200 daily or 6k monthly a reasonable income on 500k if your capital is 100% secure while you save up more money?
If you do, then consider fixing 500k for 3, 6,9 or even 12 months. That should give you roughly 80k per year, 40 for 6 months or 6k monthly after taxes. Atlest your money no go lost, investment gurus no go collect your money take buy "Benz". Lol.
My "guy" de so am only say na 1.2m him de collect monthly as him money pass your 500k small. The only yawa na say our current inflation rate under this yeye government na 22% whick means when you put money for fix deposit at 14-18% over time inflation still de hit the money, but in the meantime e de safer than to loose all your money on top say you de find passive income.

Kennitrust:
But why will you borrow on a condition of time fix and then breach the term and then be expecting the loan shark to look the other way.

If there should be rules or fine on harassment,
Let the government do the lending by themselves
Exactly, you said it all.
Truth of the matter is that you take money, you agree to the terms you must pay when due without excuse.
Yes their means of recovering money is unethical, but due to the percular situation of naija where people ordinarily will not pay a loan given to them by friends and family without interest, how much more loans from loan apps with interest?
Oga someone close to me was heavily disgraced, all his contacts with respectable people were sent horrible messages, Omo, the guy a serial onigbese with those apps ran to pay quick quick and pleaded for them to send messages saying it was a mistake, which they did. Meanwhile I knew he had money to pay those loans but chose spending on other needs. Had the loan companies not embarrassed him, no way him for pay.

How can you make that your friend that is a chronic onigbese, that takes money from all the loan apps, and spends it anyhow without thinking of repayment, who also had a dodgy past, you then make him not just your accountant, not just your director of finance, you make him MD and group chairman of your company, with complete access to all your accounts without question, Watin you think say go happen?
Omo, he will use money for your generation unborn to buy "Benz".
Business › Re: What's Happening To Shoprite At Ikeja City Mall? by nedekid: 8:45pm On Sep 04, 2025
Osebanjo:
LOL. Una and politics sha. I think the problem is actually more than politics. Shoprite was busy shutting down in every country but Amusan decided to try his luck by acquiring the Nigeria franchise. Guess he’s just getting to know why they were shutting down in the first place everywhere except SA. I can bet it’s competition if you ask me.
Oga leave story, the fact is that the purchasing power of Nigerians has been devastated in the last 10 years under the apc and worst still in the past 2 years of the tinubu administration. Say the truth and let the devil be ashamed.
I made the same observation about shoprite last week on this forum after I visited the place. What was the reason for us trooping to shoprite years ago, what it not to get quality merchandise not available locally? Eg their butchery where you could get your steak, ham, proper sussages, boerewors, pork chops, even your sea food. What of quality tools and lots of other stuff brought in from south Africa ordinary not available to us? Omo, the south Africans left because no more middle class in Nigeria to afford stuff. 800g Steak they use to sell for N1500($10) 10 years ago, now becomes 16k ($10) today, how many Nigerian fit pay? Truth of the matter is that international shops will close, or change focus to stock either low grade imported materials eg those packaged cheap sausages now sold for 2300 but use to cost 300 two years ago, or locally sourced goods which you can buy from any other supermarket close to you so why bother driving all the way to shoprite?
Anyway, supermarkets such as justrite, blenco, jendor, bokuu to cater for the low class is there while you have some supermarkets on the island such as Rennes to replace shoprite and cater for the upper class, place weh you go buy loaf of bread for 15k.
Nb, I saw a Chinese car dealership at shoprite, Chery motors to be precise, the cheapest entry level car there was 46m or $28,000. That same car would have cost 4.2m 10 years ago. You would have financed it by making a 20% deposit the 70k monthly payment for 48 months.
Today if you pay 20% you will have to pay 750k for 48 months, with interest Omo atleast 1m monthly. If that car company closes shop and leaves the country, will you say it is because of competition from innosom motors?

Politics › Re: Delta Govt Official Asks Lady Saying Igbos Developed Asaba A Question by nedekid:
To be fair, a lot of money has been pumped into asaba from across the bridge ie onitsha and that is a fact. Most young men from Asaba have sold most of the land shared to then by their clans to igbos from onitsha. Infact those traders have raised the price of land and property in asaba. Last time I was there, a previously empty expanse of land I saw few months earlier had a massive shopping center with lockup shops for sale, they said it was built by some developer from onitsha. The insecurity across the Niger Bridge has lead to massive investments in property from those guys, from my observation lots of new properties been built or traded on are from them. Infact the tenant that rented a property I am associated with on ezeneyi road came in from onitsha, he spent a lot renovating the rundown building and it is currently his showroom.
The above is the reality, the problem rises when some low lives then use it to brag that they developed somewhere. Most of those that do the bragging do not even own shishi, neither have they done any developing themselves, they are empty barrels that cause problems for other proper peaceful humble folks.

Politics › Re: Dangote Refinery Exports First Gasoline Cargo To U.S. by nedekid: 9:59am On Sep 03, 2025
MaiDeribe:
While Aliko Dangote portrays himself as a self-made industrial titan, there is a compelling case to argue that he is, in fact, a full-fledged NEPO baby, leveraging inherited privilege and entrenched social networks to accelerate his rise:

1. Family Wealth and Influence
• Dangote’s maternal family, the Dantatas, were among West Africa’s wealthiest dynasties in the 1940s–1960s. Wealth here is not just financial, it’s social capital, political connections, and elite networks, all of which are invaluable in business.
• His paternal family also held wealth and influence, giving him access to elite education, mentorship, and exposure to high-stakes business early on.

2. Access to Capital and Networks
• Starting a cement trading business requires seed capital, banking trust, and industry connections. While Dangote claims he started small, the ease of accessing credit, suppliers, and contracts in Lagos is highly unlikely for someone without elite backing.
• Nepotistic leverage manifests subtly: his uncle provided initial guidance and a foothold in Lagos commerce, something most aspiring entrepreneurs never get.

3. Structural Advantage in Infrastructure & Government Contracts
• Dangote’s empire thrived in sectors historically dominated by politically connected elites, like cement, sugar, and oil.
• His success was facilitated by regulatory and government environments favoring those with insider knowledge and access. Ordinary entrepreneurs face significant barriers in these markets.

4. Branding as Self-Made While Benefiting from Legacy
• Public messaging frames Dangote as building from scratch, but cherry-picking “working with an uncle” while downplaying inherited social, educational, and network advantages is a classic NEPO narrative.
• True self-made billionaires rarely have direct family dynastic connections that shield them from systemic risks in emerging markets.

Congrats building it from the scratch, show some more empathy and sanitize your trucking system, too many Nigerians are dying for your profit.
Abeg leave story and celebrate the man, his tenacity, drive, business acumen etc.
How many Nigerians have started life having a thousand fold the opportunity dangote had but today are no where, some having nothing or at best living comfortably without growth? Where are the relatives or offspring of the know wealthy back in the day, families with real old money, the mai deribes, the IBB, abachas, ekenedili chukwus, Lois ojukwus, odogwus, iwanyawuns, dozies, da rochas, odutolas, ibrus etc, why are they not trillionaires and growing like dangote, Otedola or samad rabiu? They are wealthy no doubt but not daily breaking new grounds as dangote.
The truth is that 99% of people will get exactly the same opportunities this guys had and not achieve the kind of success they have attained.
Pick 10 Nigerians off the street, give them 10m each and in 1 year most would have gone through that money without anything to show for it, but you may be shocked to see someone you gave 1m at the same time could have turned that 1m to 10m and growing. Heck some fellow was at my gate last week, I sent 5k to him to leave, this fellow was a long time steward to a relative, 4 years ago this relative decided to relocate and after disposing of a heavy asset, gifted this man 10m to find his way. Note that a brand new Honda accord from Honda place was about 10m today it is over 70m, $10k was about N4 to 4.5m just to have a paspectivd of the value of 10m back then.
Within 1 year that man was broke, today he is begging around.

If you only searched on YouTube, you'd see your revered white people speculating about the same things, even water pouring out of trees.

In fact, a lot of them speculate that some of the geologic structures we call hills and mountains are, in fact, the petrified stumps of ancient, giant trees, a lot of them still having springs of water gushing out till today.

Before you put down Africa and Africans, try to find out what other races believe.

This is a great development, one that sensible people have called for all the whole. Great to see it is finally happening. Why will I want to buy something from China them change my money to dollars then to yuan?
The dollar been abused by the US through all sorts of illegitimate sanctions has to be broken! They have abused the dollar as the world's reserve currency same with their financial system. What is the dollar even backed with? Nothing, It is just paper!
Go on alixpress today it is no longer in dollars but naira, fantastic! Very soon even our local velve card which opay and other banks issues should be linked to the Chinese alipay, Russian Mir card, the Indian, Turkish etc. We will not need the US master and visa cards which they can use to disable your economy once you disagree with them.

I think it is a culture thing.
2 or so years ago when the German chancellor visited naija, the deputy governor hosted him at JK Randle cultural center near cms. I was there as my services was engaged by a vendor. Omo see like 10 grown men that waited for hours to rag the deputy governor. Infact his security already knew and before hand was cautioning the group of men, warming them not to try it. I over heard their discussion say ma them work to put him and his oga in office.
Immediately the oga come out of the building with the German and saw him to his car, he moved to enter his, that was how those men rushed as a group, broke through the security and went on their kneels with their hands raised up saying give us money to eat, ebin pawa, meenn, you could see the disgust on the deputy governors face, he scolded them got in his car to leave them, maybe having second thoughts handed over a bundle of cash. Mission succeeded for them see the shameless glee on their faces as they moved away with the money.
Omo men de without shame ohh, grown men for that matter, even aboki malam, those disabled ones would have had some shame that day, but those guys, lie lie. Them beg with pride.
