My dear if one is smart it is a way to move up quickly. Back in the late 90s when the obj administration came into power and we visited Abuja to hustle also hung around one or 2 politicians, we had friends that were doing PA to HOA members, they were practically called houseboys jokenly. Infact my first time of entering the national assembly complex was with one of them taking me to his ogas office. Long story short, all those so called houseboys ended up being the biggest boys. Some learnt the ropes of politics and became HOA members, senators, other used the connections they made to become big time contractors, experts in chopping national cake (if you know what I mean). Oga have you not heard of fani kayode yabbing one ex gobina, minister etc say when he visited odili that ex gobina was then a houseboy without shoe? Lol 2 Likes |

I think the labanese just as the Chinese and are lots better for Africans than the westerners, reason being that they say in the country, integrate with the people and culture, build their lives and raise their kids locally. In short they become Nigerians, they have a stake, fully committed. The Americans, british, French etc are colonisers, they come exploit and leave. Eg go and check chevron, shell, Guinness etc most of their assets are leased, they can easily exit at a moments notice. The Chinese and Lebanese will buy property for residence and business and make their lives there. Ofcouse you will always have those with kleg ie the bad eggs just as you have lots of nigerian doing dagbo in other countries. |

Them full naija, especially in the 70,80 90s when naija was still good small. I had a pure British oyinbo boy that attended Jamb lesson with me 1989, the boy spoke Yoruba an igbo fluently also jumped molue to and fro, home to school. We use to give him a ride once in a while. Omo, them plenty, we were boozing at "aunties" joint just opposite UI second gate in the 90s when a group of cars drove in. Na so we heae some voices speaking in Yoruba (with area boy tone) hailing auntie the owner of the joint, since I was backing the entrance my paddy told me to look back, omo they were all Lebanese men wearing native attire! If someone had said it was Mc Oluomo, koko zarie and their gang that worked in I would have believed. Pure Yoruba men only that they were Lebanese. 3 Likes |
