rusher14: It is wrong for kidnap of any form to take place (except it's Umaru Dikko) and it should be condemned....the society ...which society?? |
dayokanu: Its called the Stockholm syndrome. the Igbos are now eternal slaves to their Hausa Lords.ezioku?
|
Naptu |
Abagworo: That is more or less what was crafted by our enemies without actually stepping into Igboland. This my snap shot is from an earlier book. Read it and understand the meaning. Our Kings had no absolute power and there was no empire lording over the entire Igbo country does not interpret that the whitemen introduced Eze to Igboland.my friend go and plant some yam..... you always had an enemy. you know what, ibos have a thousand enemies and never fought but one war and in which they went to the front carrying wood sculpted mark IV that gave victory to their opponent. Yoruba has fought many wars and have not one single enemy. whatt!!! |
Don't you have a website to start?
shut ya fvkr..... mouth like the south end of a northbound mule! |
bittyend: By the time I'm done, my ID shall be ingrained into NAIRALAND'S TRIBALISM HALL OF SHAME!you are not a tribalist. you are passionate about your people and i admire you for it. there is no tribalism in nl....thats a No-No here, its not tolerated and has never been part of our culture here. Yorubas here love their people and we demonstrate it, period! |
van bonattel: Oh that, a yoruba king being tricked into England before they robbed you of the Lagos island.funny you said that.....they had to fight to get it. they won but it took three attempts and a boatload of canonfire on their pale behind. They erected a memorial afterward narrating their losses. Royal Navy did not fight alaigbo....they only sent some traders skilled in selling salt and ivory to overpower your land and declare it territory of Royal Niger Company. no memorial anywhere tells of their losses on your land or in hausaland. we might be calm and reserved...we got firepower. |
PhysicsQED: I wasn't going to post on the thread except to clear up that picture bittyend posted about washing of feet - to point out its origin and the actual significance of the ceremony. But then I saw how ugly the thread was getting so I made a suggestion to the mod.oh dear physics, when roforofo fight dey go on nobody care about housekeeping.. my brother abeg some things dont need clearing up....just act like you no see am. when you come in like this in middle of fight its not good. bitty abeg leave physics alone, he meant well but sometimes he is unawares that his action can push the wrong button. abeg leave am. |
look at oyinbo parliament member receiving yoruba king in england. look at the kings posture with that commoner.
|
bittyend: Yoruba's in 1912!you dont see anybody parading skulls and blood drips and machette..... look at orderliness in the king's court. bitty, do you know what they did in the 1914 amalgamation to effect a uniform system of rulership for north and south? oyinboman said Yorubas had a superior system of organization and political heirarchy. so they tempered it down to a lower level like hausas have. then in east ibos were upgraded to the hausa style and still it was not fitting. so they created warrant officers. these wofficers are what today they call Ezes. there is no comparing our kings to igbos. Hausa was no match to us much less yanmiri. |
PhysicsQED: If this thread is just going to become an avenue for various people to mock the culture of other groups, then perhaps the mods should lock it.yo dude, which one u dey. nobody talk bout bini here. we dey enjoy here...why u want shut down the playground? |
Abagworo: If its her choice so be it. That's Igbo culture for you. Freedom to live without fear and molestation. Your face still remains smooth while your sexual freedom and satisfaction as a woman is intact. It is not surprising then why your men are all over Igbo ladies while we consider yours as poo.your igbomen have departed and abandoned home. your women have followed suit. they are smarter than you. you have become tenants in other people land. you are no longer a means of security for them and their womb and what it may bring forth. They have choosed a new owner for the poussy and the womb. they need a new security for their children.....the kind of security enjoyed in yorubaland. no torment, no victimization, no oppression. They are dedicating their wombs to bring forth a new generation of progeny for Oduduwa. |
bittyend: Primitive ibo cannibals with human heads.and they take pride in it.....gorilla like basking in ignorance. exhibiting their barbarism and cannibalism in 2012 the way oyinbo saw and described them in 1800. |
Abagworo: Don't she wish to be like this?no pal, she doesnt wish to waste her youthful beauty svking on a 70yr old dck |
van bonattel: Uglier than your mother, whom I used to think was the ugliest piece of shi1you can tell when ibos have exhausted their endurance and their will is defeated. the bravemouths turn to parental insults. for now....i will spare your mother. she only gets one chance dose of mercy. |
van bonattel: Warriors with the heads of yoruba cowardswhich society do you know that pose for a picture with bloodied human skulls and blood dripping machettes, even if the head is that of enemies? barbarians.... |
isnt she pretty... :tribal marks and all?
|
Abagworo: Igbos have modernized and stopped it but your people just like Ibadan, Ogbomosho, Ilesha, Ife etc are still stuck in 1800fulanis are still doing it. kanuris still do it. yorubas still do it. on the other hand, no society in nigeria, beside ibo practices slave / free born discrimination in their culture. no society in nigeria, except ibo and bachamas, roast humans and eat |
PhysicsQED: Well, there is no pre-colonial or colonial era written or traditional evidence that suggests they did, but modern historians would like to assume that Benin did get some cloth from Ijebu, since both Benin and Ijebu were major centers of cloth production for export (among other places in West Africa) at one time. I don't think it's an unreasonable assumption since cloth from Ijebu was sold to other places as well, so I'm going along with their claim, but if you must know, there doesn't seem to be any evidence that the cloth Benin was selling (not to talk of wearing) were actually obtained specifically from Ijebu.there is evidence that a certain people of west africa were known for indigo dyed clothing and weaving. three indigo types in west africa....yoruba and mali were the most popular. |
Kingship ritural during the height of the Oyo empire http://www.edwardfox.co.uk/okex.html
keywords, after oba died! the successor! rites! this is different from slaughtering humans (not dead but slaughtered) for meat market and consumptiin by the community. |
Abagworo: n a dark room, the High Priestess used her ceremonial knife to cut two teardrop scars beneath her baby grandson's eyes. As baby Enitan cried out, the marks ran red with blood.....tribal mark is globally an African custom. they do it in north africa, eastern, central, southern , western africa. |
Desola: This one pass lottery o. This one na shubi win lotto o.have you congratulated gbawe on his nomination? if this was you in contest im sure he would send some flowers. ![]() |
ujchief: Then join us as we march around the walls of Jericho 7-times, then we'll scream 7-times and watch these walls go down......there has never been injustice in nairaland. never witnessed words, acts or feelings of tribalism, selective justice in nairaland. what the fvk is nairaland cabal? |
Desola: There was ambiguity in the rules so it should benefit the person who didn't draw it up. Afamforking4eva might have good grounds. But for now, I would scream...I would shout, I wanna sing till the words dry out...so put it in all of the papers, i'm not afraid you can read all about it, read all about...that afamforkingeva has been DISQUALIFIED!!!! ![]() lmao, oniranu!. you dey wake trouble this early morning. |
Desola: come and join me sing halleluyah...lmao....halle luuh, halle luuh....halleluyah! desola, you don win lottery? ![]() |
ujchief: the logic of my arguement is contained in my reply to anonini's post.......im up for fairness. |
ujchief: rule #2 is not-defined! It could be a ban from nairalist since seun owns both sites. And why was he not profiled till the eve of the election? Jarus profiled and disqualified pointB imediately he got his first nomination.uj, first step is to read the section rule..."the politics section rule", not the nomination rule. |
Chanchit: Seun, pls, we need to be notified, when we are being quoted, jst like we know when our comments are liked, cos I comment on many stories and I dnt go back to many of them, I see some late,. When the story is on its 6th or 7th page, when I'm being quoted on the first page, so many times I just decide not to reply. So pls do something.why do you want notification? you are in public domain. in a public domain, anything you post, unless it is first registered as proprietary, is free and open for public use and without any obligation to obtain your permission for use. Certain literary works are by default under professional reporting or journalistic work exempted and their unauthorized use is not permissible. |
ujchief: ...and if u think that all those that nominated afam will fold their arms and watch this broad-day-light scam, then u're standing on a looong thing.first, read the section rule. second, obtain specifics of the ban, third, qualify the bans and warnings with the prerequisite for nomination fourth, present a logical response. im voting for naptu and you will not derail this event....its important to me. |
