plaetton: There must be something about you xtians and your zombie mentality. You seem to think everyone is infected with the disease that affects critical thinking?. That is why you think it's okay for someone to come on a thread and throw around words like pre-mosaic or Nohadic, without any context, that have absolutely no broad academic meaning.

If you are talking about pre-mosaic times, you have to mention with reference to a particular civilisation, Egyptian,Summerian, Babylonian, Akkadian, etc.
we will see how far your academic weight can stretch. egyptian, summerian, babylonian, akkadian.....etc are all biblical settlements and cultures. there is no way you can talk about human history and not reference the bible......no way!

humanity is defined by the bible and I challenge you to prove otherwise. You cannot be more dogged on this topic than huxley was, and i am yet to find an atheist more stubborn and intellectually gifted in nairaland than huxley when he was a member here.

plaetton: Nohadic time? which historical period was this?

You can't just pull things out of your hat without explaining what it means.
You have mentioned pre-mosaic time, and now, Nohadic time, without any kind of explanation about these terms mean.

Human history, let me remind you, is not measured on biblical characters.
Biblical chronology is not, and has never been a reliable benchmark for tracing human history.
You cannot say nohadic time without letting us know whether you are talking about 5,000,10,000 or 20,000 BC.
are you serious?

in one paragraph you said. history is not measured on biblical characters and pre-mosaic and noahdic will be unacceptable, then in closing you want me to use calendar based on "BEFORE CHRIST" (in other words, pre-christ) to delineate my timelines. How is pre-mosaic unacceptable but pre-christ is acceptable?

are you serious, dude?
Christianity EtcRe: What Does It Mean To Accept Christ (for Deepsight) by NegroNtns(m): 4:59am On Jan 22, 2013
i am not sure that civilization will be a good time marker to use in this regard since civilizations can span over different prophetic times.

but my reference is in point to nohadic time. this would be the earliest of any trackable social and cultural institutions of human history. that time period gave us the narration of productive work and social relationships and covenants.
Christianity EtcRe: What Does It Mean To Accept Christ (for Deepsight) by NegroNtns(m): 7:19pm On Jan 21, 2013
the sacrifice of jesus, the cross, the walking on water are all symbolic and have a deeper spiritual meaning than mere physical senses can perceive and understamd. many of the themes and symbolism and mysteries of Christianity are remnants of Jewish mystical practices which were adopted legacies of pre- Mosaic times.
CultureRe: Can you translate this Colours In Your Language? by NegroNtns(m): 5:02pm On Jan 21, 2013
in yoruba colors are derived from land (minerals). therefore dyes are made from vegetative roots. when mixed with animal fats you then produce many different colorations or hues of the dye. there are three primary dyes in yoruba culture but many different hues in a wide spectrum.

the primary ones are :

aro - blue/black
osun - red
efun - white

the hues are

dudu - brown/black
pupa - red
funfun - white (bleached)

I will follow up with responses to your questions tomorrow but I do want to say the term "Sudan" or "Soodan" is a beltway that stretches from Senegal and Mauritania on the Atlantic all up to the west bank of the nile in present day Sudan. The present day Sudan is tiny remnant of a much larger Sudan.

Nok is a Nupe civilization. Nupe itself is a proto- semitic migrant. They worshipped similar deities as Yorubas. Their home land stretched into the hills of plateau and bordered with the Adamawa plains. They were driven out and shifted into part of Borgu. Borgu was the immediate neighbor to the north of Oyo back then but today Nupe is the neighbor to our north. Wars and attrition had shifted the landscape and the people.

Everypeople who had lost a war to an opposing force had also lost part or a whole homeland to the foreign army.

There is so much to decode......let's start having quiz to go with it. I start the first one.

1. What is the difference between Ori Olokun and Ade Orisa ? List three significant distinctions.

anonymous6: well my opinion on the matter is as long as the man involved is taking care of all his wives and children equally, especially financially then it shouldn't be a problem if the parties involved agree to the life style. I don't know about making the president marrying from other tribes lol sounds funny if it isn't naturally done.
lol, ...trust me, its going to be natural! everyman is gettig a push from his ego to be the president and the one everyother man worships. so i dont know why marrying yoruba hausa and igbo will be a problem.

look, the erotic presence of woman is tonic for a man's libido and testosterone. it heightens his anxiety and action....its a distraction. so the more he discharges and off load his fluid the better his ability to focus and perform at his work and civic duties. there are many benefits. lol.
we should stop this talk here and move it to sexuality. in fact we used to have weekly open discussions on sex back when that brazilian girl was on the forum.

aribisala, i have documented your complaint. please keep record of your bans and any discrimiinating treatment from the rookie.

anytime we violate a rule we are supposed to get a penalty. there should be no problem with that. it is a problem when similar violations occur and the offender is excused. there is a thin line between discretionary disposition and outright discriminatory or preferential treatment. we can prove the case only by keeping record.

heck, they are all in turban.....how do you distinguish malian rebel from chadian or maiduguri "rebel"?

its interesting that the top military chief used "rebel" to refer to "terrorists". amazing grace!!

we cannot bear the pain and agony that will come if we unleash alpha jets in our own territories and so we never used them to flush out terrorists in our land but we were quick on the opportunity to jump in them and head to another man's land to cause havoc and gnashing of teeth.

this is exact same emotions that bring europeans to dispatch bombers to conflict zones in africa.....it is not their land, they dont lose anything by doing that and they are too far away to be impacted by surging refugees. it is mali today.....it could very well be our turn tomorrow.

anonymous,

oh yeah...im telling you thats one train thats going to be hard to stop. grin. you can witness in different nations today, particularly the developed nations, how their leaders openly s c rew around and admit to doing it. They always do it but the unlucky ones get caught.

Compared to monogamous households how many polygamous households does the husband pick a rifle and blow his wife's life out or pick a butcher knife and snuff life out of her? A man in sexual heat is a dangerous man....he is worse than a baboon and he will remove the block that is restraining his sexual apetitte.....so if he sees the wife as a restraint, he will get rid of her. In polygamy its different.

In old days kings marry into other tribal groups to solidify alliances and understanding. I am recommending that no person should be voted President of Nigeria unless he has. first been married to women from the three major tribes. That should breed unity. ....in addition to the children. lol.
CultureRe: You Might Want To Know That We Yorubas Are Part Of The Lost Tribe Of Israel by NegroNtns(m): 2:32am On Jan 19, 2013
Tony,

Jokes apart, it is regrettable that I do not have an intimate understanding of the Igbo culture and core beliefs, it is an handicap for me personally. I love people and culture and the humanity of native customs generally. I can look at Yoruba art and instantly decode messages encrypted in it. This is possible because of my intimacy with my own people. I lived many years in Hausaland and it's unfortunate for the Hausas that every aspect of their customs but the language is wiped out. Hausa has suffered more and lost far more than any of the other ethnic people or tongue living in Nigeria today. Hausa was a member of the Songhay. Mali subdued them, Fulani subdued them and then British subdued them.

The Igbo social structure and culture is a unique one. To match their beginnings to a source outside their homeland we must find the foreign land where, around the era of transcontinental migration, kingship, imperial sovereingty and provincial authority were not practised. The difficulty of finding one anywhere around this time proves difficult. Making it more problematic is the fact there is no hero or father figure in their history. Nri and Aro are the biginnings they claim but it is also unheard of that a migrating monarch and head of a warrior clan, such as Nri is reputed to be, would end up defeated and subdued by his host, Aro. I suspect Igbo came from somewhere else....but where? So the clarity and definition of their migration and myths is best told by one who is very intimate with the history and culture.

On Yoruba, yes Canaan is correct. In fact the roots of many symbols, words and tongue of Yoruba are interlinked with Canaanite tongue and symbols. The prefix "Al-"; "Ol-"; "Il-" and "El-"......are all from old Canaan tongue. I see a pattern of it in the Luhya chart. Communication was done through symbolism, by it ideas were conveyed. All the hoolabaloo about Egyptian hieroglyphics when reduced to straight talk is just symbolism. To find where these symbols are hosted and how they are used we should look at the tradition and custom. There is for instance the symbol of a bird sitting atop of the Ade Orisa (the beaded conical crowns) and on the same crown you will have depiction of Esu's face highlighting his physical eyes and his mystical eye (third eye).

We call bird Eiye or Eye. What is the connection between this bird and the three eyes of Esu? Esu is the messenger of the gods, the equivalent of Greek's Mercury, who also like Esu, is dual-natured.....malevolent/benevolent!

The symbolism of the bird is to communicate the mystical power of transcendence and divine link via the third eye which represent the illumination of knowledge. Through this path man lives his will, shaped by malevolent/benevolent energies in nature. This is why Eiye itself is a cult in Yoruba mystical order.

The Eye is also a cult in European cultures, borrowed from Greeks who stole and copied the knowledge from Children of Israel, who inherited the secrets after sacking the Canaanites from the land. In Europe The Eye is "Illuminati", the equivalent of Yoruba's Eiye cult. The Zionists transferred the symbol onto the American dollar.

Another symbol is that of the egg (Eyin). In ancient times elders communicated secrets with the passage along of an egg. The modern day security clearance, so to speak. Only those in the circle of a knowledge had the specific egg bearing the specific dye. Eyin is a representation of the 16th letter of the Hebrew (Canaanite tongue) letter "AYN". Ayn means a secret or something hidden or covered from open view. 16 is used a lot in Jewish mysteries to encrypt message.......and if you add the 1+6 you get 7, which is the cosmic platform for revelation, openess and production or fertility in connection with egg.

US has given up on prosecuting practicing polygamists becuse they are cautious about the catch 22 of making homosexuality a rights choice and denying the rights to polygamists. so they have decided to look the other way....kind of "dont ask, dont tell" approach.

they know people are doing it and if they start to crack down it will start a fire. there are people with nothing to do just waiting for the next civil rights bandwagon to camp on and make money and fame.

if, according to US civil rights act, people have the liberty to chose a sexual lifeatyle of homosexuality, then the liberty of freedom of choice for a woman to coshare her man should not be denied.....neither should a man be restrained from his choice to copulate with multiple women.

....besides, for every 10 married household in US, 9 are in an extra-marital affairs. the economy is poor and getting worse, if this is not the time to have polygamy i dont know what other time is best suited.

we have a underground movement currently in lobby nd weighing the structure by which a legal presentation can be tabled for consideration. women and their feminism have taken over the society but Insha Allah, we shall continue to protect the society against the evils of social decay and family abuse. it is abusive for a husband to lay his hands on his wives. it is even worse when he is spending his time in strip joints and red light districts wasting his life away in an unloving, unromantic and definitely unrewarding relationship.

women should join us with their voices and work with us to protect the society and the children. we dont want homosexuality in our communities and we dont want bars and joints in our communities. many women are without homes and protection......let us put them in homes where in the comfort of a husband and their fellow sisters they can share goodwill and an upliftemnt of spirit and fulfillment.

they say charity begins at home, me myself i will marry from every ethnic group in nigeria. what a better way to bring unity to our dear country. grin

For an entire 4 years, Lagos got nothing from FG lol! And even with the so called thieving of Tinubu, Lagos did better than Rivers and Cross Rivers collecting both FG allocation and 13% (Remember Calabar just recently became non oil producing).

So yeah! Fashola is right.

Lagosians are always on the move sun up to sun down! Economic transactions are going on 24hrs/day. Iya elewa sells till 4am and continues at 8am, some are 24/7 in Ebute Meta. Aboki sleeps in his shop so you can always knock to get anything he sells anytime, the city never sleeps.

Lagos is not your average city padi mi. It's for the go getters who can get it in a fast paced city. New York ain't faster than Lagos. I can still lay back and make $3k a week in New York. If I try such in Lagos, I'll lose $3k/week. Infact, you get addicted to hustling because you'll see the fruit of your labour.

If I lose money here, I make tripple my loss in Lagos. Lagos is the best gamble anyone can win but you gotta play!
good one!

there are many gaps left unanswered here.

first, was this a natural death or was this goat a victim of jail violence.

second, has the state medical examiner conducted an autopsy to discover the cause of the goat's death?

third, to support the state's environmental and waste management program, since there are no goat cemetry, it is highly suggested that the remains of this goat be cremated.

....osun no get people left to prosecute? na goat and sheep and pig wey roam street dey mind hin business be offenders now.
