omg, Lol, to think I've actually met that kid when he, his mum and two sisters came here in Portugal.
And see how my parent were forcing us to dress very responsible, Don't wear this, don't wear that,  Now see d president pikin 4 here!

@ SM Zina

you don't seem to realize the level of malice some so called Nigerians have for Nigeria. NV M is no exception here.

Using a 12 year old boy to get at his father is really low, and smacks of the militant child kidnappings in the Niger Delta.

If someone can get this close to the boy and snap this kind of picture just in order to give the father bad publicity, then they can also get close enough to kidnap him.
Good point, He is just a kid, And does look very responsible and innocent in person, absolutely not as portrayed in d picture. He is 12 and more like a shy kid. Please!

RomanceRe: When He Or She Is Shy by Nella(f): 2:41pm On Aug 06, 2008
If a person is shy around u, it shows u that d person does really like u and that is why he or she is finding it really difficult to be at ease, because if d person didn't care then he\she would just be at complete ease without caring about wht u think of him or her- - --  soo I will always hang around my shy guy,

Besides there is no way he can be shy 4 ever, . . .

CultureRe: Isn't It A Shame When You Can't Speak Your Mother Tongue?! by Nella(f): 9:07pm On Aug 04, 2008
Seabreez15:
Interesting topic!
I was just about to start a similar thread when I found this one,

Please oo, I'm from Kwara state, mo gbo Yoruba, Ina jin Hausa, but well, we grew up speaking English at home, so I'm not even close to fluent in either. But understand them pretty good, and can definitely get around.

What I do want to ask is if it's possible that a Nigerian guy:

- spent the first 18years of his life in Naija (mostly Lagos)
- Went to King's College
-

lands in the UK, suddenly speaks with the purest British accent, says he doesn't understand ANY Nigerian Language oooo!  and is asking me "how do u say 'morning' in yoruba" :p

hahahaha! and If I use naija slang when speaking, the guy calls me "Bush Girl" :p

please help oo! Is this at all possible??
I absolutely know wht you're talking about! Those type of people annoy me out of my skin!!

I remember once when me and my bros went to Madrid 4 holiday, and we met this mumu, idiotalized foolish + STUPID boy straight 4rom Naija! and Pure Benin! who was there deceiving some bunch of yeye oyinbo girls that he was 4rom Jamaica! And that he once met 50cent at d market. Just imagine! And d dumb white girls were believing him ( Is it just me or can this oyinbo girls be extremely dumb sometimes?? It's sooo easy 4 Nigerian guys especially, to fool them!) . I mean u should have heard his accent! -- Pure Benin pikin! yeye boy wehn his auntie dey there dey suffer to make ends meet so that dey can return to Nigeria and have a better life, d idiot dey there dey fool white girls!

we were all sitting there, and I was laughing my ass off, he asked my bro a question in his "Jamaican accent" I trust my bro, he simply replied : " Look,  guy,  If I slaaap u, u go tell me whether I resemble white chick 4 your face!" -- Gosh, it was very funny.

Bringing me to wht Masawa said. It's really a shame that some people can be like this, but then again he is d only Nigerian I have met that was like that about this whole language\Nigeria stuff. We Nigerians are usually very proud of where we come from and our Language.
CultureRe: Isn't It A Shame When You Can't Speak Your Mother Tongue?! by Nella(f): 8:42pm On Aug 04, 2008
well of course it's not a shame, but it can get quite embarrassing in some situations.

I'm Igbo and I 4got how 2 speak d language since we came out.

@Poster, my story is just like ur own, my parent try real hard, they speak Igbo to us and we reply in English, etc.
Just my accent alone is enough to destroy d language, soo I gave up trying 4 now.

I'm yet to go back to Nigeria and face all those uncles and aunties, lol including all those amebo neighbors that will speak in ur language to u in publicknowing very well that I don't know how to speak it all so that they can interrupt me in d middle of my replying to force me to reply in Igbo.

My Igbo started dieing when I started learning Portuguese, it still takes me by surprise up-till today when I try o think in Igbo not knowing that I'm, actually thinking in Portuguese. Or replying my uncle "sim" on d phone thinking I'm replying in Igbo.

---------- My case is even small, my lil bro ( 7 years) doesn't even know that a language called Igbo exists talkless of Yoruba and d rest.
If u speak Igbo to him, he tells u : " stop speaking Portuguese to me, I don't understand it" --lol, But now that he can speak Portuguese, he is able to differentiate d two. But anyways he is only seven and we r going back soon, soo no loss.

RomanceRe: Why Do Nigerian Girls Have Protruding Bellies? by Nella(f): 1:13pm On Aug 04, 2008
Nigeria sef,

soo now na slim girls come dey in fashion abi ?? Gosh, I remember when I was in Nigeria as a kid and I was as thin as a broom stick, I was called all those names 4rom " Lekpa shandy" to Agbani Darego -- and was asked several times if I didn't eat. lol, so there I was forcing my self and trying to add weight at all cost, although for some reason all my efforts backfired maybe because I ate too much fruit thinking sweet things made u gain weight  undecided lol, But I remember a fat person got plenty of compliments.

Something like this : ------- u will see someone who technically speaking, has a very high level of cholesterol and 4 d same reason is very unhealthy, making her look fat\big, name : Grace

Neighbour
: Chei Grace, na wa oo, wetin u dey eat nowadays?? -- see as u just dey fat!"
Grace ( now smiling at such compliment)        : nothing ooo na God handwork,

----- Just Imagine! lol,
And then u have someone like me, who is as thin as a broomstick
-- I'm passing my own oo, not minding anybody, but yet dey would call me just to say d same thing they've said to me 300 times before all over again!

Neighbour : Chei this pikin come here,
-- I go
Neighbour : your mother day?
Me: answers yes or no
Neighbour : ah ok, ok,surveys me up and down  . . . come u sure sayy them no dey starve u 4 that house soo?? -- This one when u just dey dry everyday like this, na wetin dey happen??

Me: ( trying soo hard not to hit her with wht ever I was holding, and forcing a smile)  : noo, no, I dey eat --- starts trying to walk away

Belive me before I walk two blocks futher, d same incident would  happen all over again with one other yeye neighbour.

But all d same, I'm speaking of uninformed people.

@post

Nigeria is just like any other country, u have big people and u have slim people, there's no big deal, besides "man must wack!"

I also like guys who have a good sense of humor. I believe that the ability to make someone laugh still remains one of the most attractive personalities in people.
I don't like dry humor and I don't like clowns or guys that are constantly playing jokes and think they are funny. It's pathetic to me.
