bharbhyie: Congratulations Nenesisi
I rejoice with you.
So i picked up my EOR from BC today and my results were upgraded. (L-8.5, R-7.0, S-7.5, W-6.5). I had remarked my W and S with initial scores as 6.0 and 6.5 respectively.
Even though my crs is still not within the target required, I am thankful. I will be rewriting the tests in Jan or Feb. This computer based looks promising....
It will end in praise. There is hope in front of you. You should def consider the computer based. |

Zeewirld: .Hello, any other advantage over the paper based? Well, the speaking was on the same day. So no 'go come'. For me, it was better than writing with hand. |

For the computer based IELTS exam, you have 30mins for the listening section, as against 40mims in the paper based exam.
You'll get login details for each section and your speaking test will begin immediately after the LRW.
You'll be given instructions during the test and a demo will be shown on how to navigate the system during the test.
But, I think, it's best to go on YouTube and familiarize yourself with it before hand.
The computer won't highlight spelling errors, so be sure your spellings are correct. No bathroom breaks during listening.
You can have your water with you but no eating. It was chilled environment |

Agents can't speed up processing. They can help you follow-up with your application and stuff, but I think the decision still lies with the CIC vicnoshon: Thank you. Can agents that knows what's what speed up the process in any way? |

I had promised to share my IELTS story here. I'm just so grateful to God. Pictured here is my new result with BC, the computer based test which I did Thursday the 13th Dec on the mainland
My first result was the same in LRS save the writing which was 6.5. I had used Jay videos and Oxford Online all on YouTube to prepare. I knew all the gimmicks, but when it was the time to write, I just became confused. I was no longer sure of myself.
When the results were released I reached out to @newmum then and she advised remarking and re-writing. I chose to rewrite.
So when the computer based option became available in Nigeria, I knew it was my time. I focused on the writing practices, especially because I knew the tension from writing would be removed. I am very comfortable using the computer. At the first attempt, Kai, I erased like there was no tomorrow. I just was so jittery.
Introduction Random statement about the qiestion Rephrase question State what you will do
Paragraph 1 Point 1 Explain point Supporting example
Paragraph 2 Same as above
Conclusion Let the examiner know this is your concluding paragraph in your first sentence. E. G. As I conclude, In conclusion, To conclude etc. Repharse question Restate your answers again
Then use different sentence types. If possible stay away from the simple sentence [just subject and verb type]
You can tweak this depending on the questions asked. You also need to understand what the question is asking of you. Is it opinion only? Opinion and question? To what degree do you agree with the statement given? Etc. Understand the question well. This will come with practicing.
At the exam, we were only 16. It was in Gbagada. BC even gave us complimentary umbrellas. Lol
In all I just wanna thank God. Na to go collect TRF, update score and pray for speedy ITA.
Guys, don't despair over IELTS. Please don't accommodate negative thoughts. Yes, we may have challenges with the exam but that's all that are. They don't define you as a person.
We shall celebrate soon.

After my second attempt, I just checked my result and LSRW 8.5,8,9,8 MOD. I had LSRW 8.5,8,9,6 in my first attempt with BC. I'm so happy because God knows that I am not in the mental state to write IELTS again. Thanks JobsInIT for the resources you gave me, they helped a lot and everyone who encouraged me after my first try, may God bless you all. On to the next stage. |

Congratulations!!!! I could feel your feels while reading purplerain: Hi All.
Long post alert!
Its PPR guys. Yes o, after 7 months, London VO has freed me. AOR: 4 March 2018 MEP: 13 March 2018 ADR 1: 19 Sep 2018 ADR 2: 2 Oct 2018 RPRF : 5 Oct 2018 IP2 : 9 Oct 2018 PPR: 9 Oct 2018.
In January 2018, Hubs and I decided to apply for Canadian PPR. I am the primary applicant, and I have a foreign masters degree, so WES evaluation was pretty easy. A day after we entered the pool, we received our ITA. I always knew our application would get sent to London. It was a feeling i couldnt shake. On 21-Mar 2018, i got a "how to get a job in canada email". Chai, i knew we had entered 1 chance
I called hubby and told him my worst fears had come true. But he was still trying to give me hope. The email is not a guarantee of transfer to London. I said ok o..make we dey see.
In May 2018, we called IRCC, and they confirmed that in deed on that day, our file was transferred to LVO.
July 2018, i sent LVO an email, asking for an update on my application, their response was i was in a queue waiting review.
Sept 4 2018, exactly 6 months after AOR, i sent Ralph an email. Asking for an update. He responded that although my file was initially reviewed on 7-Aug, nothing had been started.
Chai!!!! 6 months, nothing. I wont lie, I cried.
19-Sep-18: LVO sent me 8 ADR requests. Yes, O, 8!!!!!
We compiled and submitted everything on 25 of Sept.
2 of Oct, another ADR. This time, 1 year bank statement for my salary account.
We submitted the one i generated from mobile app, including reference letter from the bank, 12 months payslip, and updated POF. (the last 3 were to be sure they had everything o).
On 5-Oct, we received RPRF request. That day, i knew it was only a matter of time. Family members were already dancing and jubilating o..Hubs and I were still waiting for PPR, before we dance sha.
12pm today, it came o....
Finally!!!!
Please help me thank God o. He has been in charge from the get go.
Did i mention that the second ADR came from Lagos office.. Yes o, Lagos immigration.
Only God knows how and when Lagos became involved in my case.
It sha ended in praise!!!. |

Wow, just Wow. Congratulations, I can't even begin to imagine how exhausted your 2yo must have been. Lol. Congratulations once again. Kwado87: Grace Found Me....
Landed Edmonton yesterday night...
Left for Abuja airport by 9.30am, my flight was by 1.27pm via Ethiopian Airline. 2 adults, 2 infants.... Planned to carry 5 luggage of 23kg each and the rest as hand luggage, although I was entitled to 4 pics of 23kg and 2 pcs of 10kg... Already weighed my luggage with a gas sellers scale (those guys dey reap people off) and all my bags were overweight almost 28kg... Just said I'll take them like that and see how it goes at the airport.. At the airport discovered that none of my luggages was even up to 23kg!! Had to include some of my hand luggage as check-in. So in total 6 bags of all twenty-something kg.
The flight from Abuja to Ethiopia was good, not great food but twas constant... Had an empty seat by our side so we maximized the space... In-flight Entertainment was good, just that my son (1yr 11months) was a hands full... Dreaded the takeoff & landing and was running temp....
Arrived Ethiopia and boarded the one that's bound for Toronto via Dublin... The crew were very nice, changed my seat to one where I could use a bassinet (twas a life saver) they provided . Didn't know what a bassinet was but just responded positive when asked if I'll like to have one..lol. my 5 months infant was placed there so at least my wife had some space and that made the entire space in front of us ours, so we just converted it to a bed, na so my wife and 1st son lie down for ground there like say we dey "economic bizness class". After boarding, the flight was about to take off but just didn't go, we were later told there were some technical issues, na so we dey inside for more than 2 hrs for a flight that we will spend more than 15hrs on....
Finally we landed Toronto safely and I was completely EXHAUSTED.... I just couldn't fill all the forms I printed earlier to make the landing faster..... I just filled the declaration card we were given on the plane.... Traveling that distance with 2yrs old is enough stress on its own. Went straight to one of the officers I was directed to by one warri boy (he introduced himself and I said I be phc boy...lol) that works in the airport there, too exhausted to even know her position.. She asked if any accompanying goods, I said no, she just ruled my card and directed us to immigration.... Queue wast much, got to my turn and I just said I came for landing, presented our visas and copr, was asked how much cash I was with and I said 4000usd. We were asked to wait for our paperwork to be completed... After about 10mins we were called and asked some statoury questions like have you been convicted of any crime blah blah blah.... We provided our house address(already signed a 1yr lease for an apartment)., signed our copr, guess the agent was new cos she was asking her colleagues who should sign for the infants (PA or mother). After which we were told "welcome to Canada ". Purposely planned to miss my connecting flight cos twas another more than 4hr flight to Edmonton...so I went and processed our SIN numbers, claimed our luggages and proceeded to Air Canada where we we're rebooked, checked in our bags, grabbed something to bite....finally boarded after about 2hrs.... My son was still showing working by his constant crying.... Everybody around us offered assistance, they gave him color books, drinks, showed him cartoons on their phones, they were generally nice... Another grandparents loved the smaller boy (we couldn't get close seats) that stayed with us @ the airport when we arrived, introduced us to their children who we ended up having coffee with before they left... One of our bags was didn't come to Edmonton with us. They promised to deliver it to my house this morning, so I gave my sisters address instead since Im yet to move in......finally my in-law came and we drove home.
I remember reading landing gists on this thread, and wondering when I will write my own....
All in all, while leaving the airport,i just had a fear of this is for real, now the real WORK starts then it just dawned on me God's faithfulness to me and I realized that my AOR (JULY 3RD) to Landing (SEPT 28)was less than 3 months.....then I became confident again that that GRACE WILL KEEP FINDING ME........ abeg make I sleep... IT HAS BEGUN IN PRAISE |

If you don't plan to leave the aiports, you don't need a transit Visa. These seems to be just a normal travel itinerary itzppr: No, it's just one stop for both flights. Paris for the first leg of the flight and then Amsterdam for the return flight.
It's like this. Lagos - Paris - Toronto and Toronto - Amsterdam - Lagos.
What do you think? |
