Romance › Re: Opinion: Money Is Not a Necessary Ingredient in ATTRACTING a Lady. by neocortex: 11:35am On Mar 05, 2015
Deejavuu:
Nice one Op..

Sadly this is the general belief most of our Nigerian men have, and when you try to counter it,they term you a "pretender".

Money makes everything easy, true that, but why do we still have failed marriages of rich guys undecided.?.I will always say it money only impress lazy girls,a girl that knows what she wants and goes for it to her money is just a bonus..
The OP focused on "attraction" not keeping the attraction, that said, money is necessary for a lasting relationship between male and female regardless of who the breadwinner is(usually the men). Therefore, it is safe for men to assume that they need money to maintain their relationships.
In US for example , many marriages failed after naive "lovers" marry only for love only to be taught a bitter lesson by reality and the marriages crashes in no time.

Nigerians especially Lagosians have already assimilated the message of the documentary, and any attempt by Adelakun or any other contracted writer to whitewash the allegations will fail.

Never again will a man pocket 80% of 20 million Lagosians money.
Politics › Re: Buhari Reacts To Fuel Scarcity by neocortex: 5:13pm On Mar 04, 2015
This reaction is not from Buhari but APC goons because of two reasons.

1) I don't think Buhari has recovered from high BP caused by the recent victories of the Nigerian army.
2) Buhari doesn't know how to update his facebook or twitter account.

Getting selected 200 and giving them foreign scholarship? Why not enhance a federal university to international standards and make quality education open to 20,000 people.

If only 5% of the total federation is actually benefiting from the government, then the government is not doing welll enough.
Let us stop being myopic , building a world standard university take years and the efforts of GEJ administration in empowering the next Einsteins of Nigeria must be applauded.
Even china who has been billed to overtake US as the largest economy in the world sends thousands of students to American and British university yearly. Chinese leaders knew that to build a sound economy you need to learn from the best.

Never again will our intelligent and ambitious students miss the opportunity to further their studies.

[quote author=LasgidyPort post=31279258]GMB! So presidential, so upright, so full of integrity.

Buhari/Osinbajo are a honest pair that will deploy the resources of the country in a just and fair way with accountability.

They don't have millions of dollars to bribe bloggers, to float continuous newspaper front page adverts, to run multiple adverts on all national TV stations, to settle traditional leaders, to buy some opportunistic market leaders and activists, to run multiple full page adverts inside almost all newspapers on a daily basis...but they have their integrity, their honesty, their wisdom and their word to sell to Nigerians through their own little way, a message of hope, a message of a better tomorrow, A MESSAGE OF CHANGE!

Those who put their faith in a man always reap disappointment as reward , it is even worse if the person happens to be a past offender..
It is interesting that you found all those qualities just by looking at the picture, but you failed to see how pale the man is.

They don't have millions of dollars but they had 5 billion to arrange the chatham house speech.
Our brain and eyes are talent given to us, they should be used not repressed.
Crime › Re: Female Student Raped By Boys After Touching Her With Ring by neocortex: 10:19am On Mar 04, 2015
martyns303:
Let me start by saying, in no way are their actions justifiable, however, it will be note worthy that this story may not be entirely true.

When you are arrested, you seldom write your own statement, this is mostly the case if you are young or uneducated, the police write the statement based on the charges they want to charge you with. This is the only explanation as to how an illiterate can write a fine and well articulated statement.

First, one of the charges leveled against the boys is that they stole a blackberry phone from the victim, on which of the victim's phone then did they call to place the ransom as stated by the police.

Secondly, the victim claim she became unconscious after a ring was stroke against her chest, however in her unconscious state, she was able to remember where she was taken to, she was offered alcohol, and in her unconscious state she consumed the alcohol.

A proper read of this story will expose a couple of flaws in it.

And for Pete's sake N6000 ransom? A desperate attempt from either the victim's family or the police to make their case strong.

Here is a logical explanation, the girl went to the culprits willingly, they had a nice time consuming alcohol, when she was drunk they had their way with her. Upon the realization of what has happened the girl informed her folks. But then her folks will ask her how she got to the culprits place, thus the story of the ring and being unconscious.
First of all it is reprehensible to try all means to victimize the "victim" except of course you are an eye witness which you are not.
Assuming your conclusion is right , the suspects will still end up in jail because drugging a girl and then gangraping her is ia big crime whether she willingly visit the boys or not.

As for the "unconciousness" loophole, you must realise that it has many levels, some can still observe their environment even though they can't resist their kidnappers. The cases of many escaped kidnappers victim comes to mind.

May the criminals rot in jail.

Fulani were Yoruba slaves few centuries ago. I dont know when the Yoruba became fulani slaves. We dont need more men that invoke the name Yoruba in vain to score cheap political goal. Awo has given us a standard that elders of Yoruba must present to have the will of the people: a change we can believe.
When exactly did that happen ?
What are your references ?

Afonja of Ilorin met his waterloo because he wasn't careful enough and he trusted the wrong set of people.
It is quite unfortunate that today many "informed" mind are making the same mistake of trusting a man whose antecedents reeks with ethnocentric bigotry against the Yoruba nation.

Crime › Teachers Strip Contractor Naked For Impregnating Student by neocortex(op): 12:22pm On Feb 26, 2015
Enugu—A middle-aged man narrowly escaped death in Enugu, yesterday, following an attack by angry teachers of Metropolitan Girls Secondary School located at Ogui New Layout.
The man, an Enugu-based contractor (names withheld), was beaten to pulp and stripped naked for allegedly impregnating a Senior Secondary, SS1, student of the school (names withheld).
Already, the randy contractor had been handed over to officials of National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
Vanguard gathered that the cat was let out of the bag when the victim suddenly slumped during morning assembly, bleeding profusely from her private part.
She later named the contractor as being responsible for the pregnancy.
The contractor, who claimed to be a pastor, was lured to the school where he was mobbed.
Speaking with journalists over the issue yesterday in his office, the state Commissioner for Education, Professor Uche Okolo, confirmed the incident.
He said: “A man was apprehended. The man defiled a girl and she got pregnant. The child was bleeding and rushed to hospital.
“The school made a report to NAPTIP and the man came to the school to take the girl and he was arrested. The good thing is that he has been apprehended. He should go and face the law.”

It is quite clear that Nigerians both home and abroad have rejected backwardness.

Let not anyone be fooled by APC startegies ; it is called proactive defense , it is an act of claiming a setup before a lie is exposed or protests are held, when that happens you can say "I told you , it is my enemies handiwork". This doesn't in anyway reduce the gravity of the offence or the effectiveness of the protests.

Politics › Re: Buhari Threatens To Back Out Of Abuja Accord by neocortex:

Over the past couple of months, Buhari has proven himself to be a man of immense tolerance, class, wisdom and self control. He has taken all the insults in his stride and acted above board and with unparalleled maturity. Compare that with the utterances coming from PDP, their supporters and their media houses.

There is a supposed peace accord signed by both parties yet the president's renegade wife herself admonished PDP supporters stoned anyone they find shouting "Change"!!

I'm keeping very close tabs on events and taking notes. A time will come, by God's grace after the General must have been sworn in, when PDP will be made to swallow the bitter pills they've been forcing down the throats of the opposition. I hope they choke on their own saliva and drop dead when they try to complain.

Goodluck Hitler Ebele Amin Jonathan will wind up worse then Gbagbo.
Ignorance is more devastating than illiteracy , so you never knew who Hitler or Idi Amin was, if GEj was anywhere close to who you try so hard to associate him with, you will be in a concentration camp right now working your ass off and waiting for inevitable death at anytime.
This is the exact same thing we are trying to save you from , because your god Buhari has both Hitler and Idi Amin tendencies from his past actions and it is the job of those who mean well for Nigeria to prevent what happened in Germany in the 1940's from being repeated in Nigeria.
Those who forgets their history are condemned to repeat it.
Politics › Re: GEJ's CYBERCRIME BILL Allows FG To Spy On Nigerians - Death Sentence For Hackers by neocortex: 6:53am On Feb 25, 2015
LRNZH:
This is GEJ using the other hand to withdraw the FOI bill he took credit for, probably in a reaction to the exposition of his weakness and corruption due to this elections.
Once gov't starts to actively spy on its citizenry, freedom is no longer in existence. Judging by the way GEJ and indeed other African leaders misuse power, this law will be used to witchhunt media houses and ordinary citizens on social media (think Nairaland etc).
My suspicion is that the paedophile part of the law is to window dress the spying part of the bill to create an appeal.
It is a bad law in general. How much hacking goes on in Nigeria? This is not even really an anti yahoo-yahoo bill sef to make it more pertinent. It is a shame GEJ's priorities are misplaced once again. He should have been pushing the legislature to pass more important bills like the PIB.
Nigerians should fight this bill before it is passed.

cc: Lalasticlala, Ishilove, Maclatunji, Obinoscopy, OAM4J
While citizen surveillance is not good thing because no government can be trusted not to trespass into peoples privacy, this bill in no way affect the FOI bill.
I think you meant the bill will stifle free speech , but again it doesn't stop one from talking or writing , only those who commit crimes through internet communications have to be living in fear. We shouldn't also forget that this will go a long way in fighting the boko haram group.
