Politics › IMF Seeks End To Presidency, National Assembly Budget Deadlock by neolboy(op): 8:16am On Apr 15, 2016
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Thursday waded into the impasse between the executive arm of government and the National Assembly over the 2016 budget, advising the Nigerian government to resolve the issues surrounding the budget and have it assented to, just as it renewed the call for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to implement a flexible foreign exchange regime.

IMF Managing Director, Christine Lagarde, who spoke at the opening press briefing of the fund at the 2016 Spring Meetings of the IMF-World Bank in Washington D.C., also told the federal government to seek assistance from international institutions capable of helping the Nigerian economy overcome its current economic challenges.

“Our recommendation is that, first, Nigeria seek help from the international institutions that can best help. Second is that Nigeria is open-minded about using flexibility of the exchange rate in order to absorb some of the shocks; we believe that it’s more efficient than using a list of forex items that are barred from being imported into the country.
“And third, we believe that it’s really important that budget be completely decided and approved,” Lagarde said.

Lagarde noted that the IMF was ready to come to the aid of Nigeria to resolve its economic issues provided the federal government approaches it for such assistance, recalling that during her visit to the country in January this year, she pointedly told the government to de-emphasise reliance on oil revenue and to diversify the economy, especially with the lingering volatility of oil prices.

According to her, “The low price of oil is general but low price of oil as far as Nigeria is concerned is a critical issue. Sixty per cent of your exports and 80 per cent of your revenue or the other way round is actually oil dependent.

“So when there is a massive decline in the price of oil, those two also take a similar beating; it has a major impact on the country.”

She believed Nigeria was “full of energy, full of smart people” and could really transform some of its activities in other sectors of the economy including the agriculture sector.

In her opening remarks, she noted that “we expect global growth this year to be at 3.2 per cent and 3.5 per cent next year. This makes it harder to spread economic warmth to the citizens of the globe”.

“It is not enough to lift living standards, reduce debt and create sufficient opportunities for the nearly 200 million people around the world who are officially unemployed and looking for jobs.
“There is a risk that middle class families and the poor actually remain behind, which would embolden the voices of protectionism and fragmentation,” she said.

Earlier, Word Bank President, Mr. Jim Yong Kim, pointed out: “In the global economy, there are not many bright spots around the world. The United States is one among the developed countries and India is another among the middle-income countries.

“Growth remains weak in Europe and Japan and among emerging economies. Russia and Brazil are projected to post, again, negative growth.
“We just downgraded our global growth forecast this year from 2.9 per cent to 2.5 per cent. In this period of global economic slowdown, we’re also facing major global challenges: forced displacement, climate change, and pandemics.

“I want to stress that each of these three represent very clear downside risks to the global economy. We’re not working urgently and in new ways with partners to find solutions to these issues that affect all of us.”

Meanwhile, a bill seeking to whittle down the powers of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) scaled its second reading on the floor of the Senate yesterday.

In the same vein, another bill seeking to delete CCT from the list of judicial institutions with the jurisdiction to adjudicate on criminal matters has been initiated in the Senate.

The first bill tagged, “Code of Conduct Act Cap C15 LFN 2004 (Amendment) Bill 2016”, was sponsored by Senator Peter Nwaboshi (Delta North).

Yesterday’s plenary was presided over by Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, as the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, stayed away.

In his lead debate, Nwaboshi said the bill was conceived to ensure that anyone who appeared before CCT is given a fair hearing.

“The amendment of Section 3 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act is to give every public officer appearing before the bureau fair hearing as provided for under Section 36(2)(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999,” he said.

The amendments proposed in the bill are as follows: “The functions of the Bureau shall be to: (a) receive assets declarations by officers in accordance with the provisions of this Act; (b) take and retain custody of such assets declarations; (c) examine the asset declarations and ensure that they comply with the requirements of this Act and of any law for the time being in force if otherwise the bureau shall invite the public officer concerned and take down his statement in writing; (d) receive complaints about non-compliance with or breach of this Act and where the Bureau having regard to any statement taken or to be taken after such subsequent complaint is made considers it necessary to do so, investigate the complaint and where appropriate refer such complaints to the Code of Conduct Tribunal established by Section 20 of this Act and the constitution in accordance with the provisions of Sections 20 to 25 of this Act.”

While all senators, who contributed to the debate hailed the amendment bill, describing it as timely, Senator Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North) cautioned his colleagues against the amendment, describing the bill as ill-timed.

He said even though the amendment might be good, coming at the time Saraki is standing trial before CCT could generate a negative public backlash.

Specifically, he said the public could interpret the amendment as a desperate move to frustrate the ongoing trial of Saraki.

“I rise to raise a point of caution. I am against the timing of the amendment. We must look at the perception of the people. Nigerian people can interpret it to mean that we have something to hide.

“Nigerians will question why we are doing this now if not that our president is facing trial. That is what Nigerians will think. We need to be careful,” he warned.

But Ekweremadu quickly addressed Abdullahi’s concern, insisting that the bill had nothing to do with Saraki’s trial.

According to him, the bill was not proposed to be retroactive, noting that Saraki’s trial had already begun and hence, its passage could no longer influence the ongoing trial.

Ekweremadu further claimed that the move only showed that the Senate was not afraid to carry out its legislative functions.

When the bill was put to a voice vote, senators unanimously voted in favour of its passage and was subsequently referred to the Senate Committee on Ethics and Judiciary.

Also yesterday, Senator Isah Misau (Bauchi Central) sponsored another bill tagged, “”A Bill for an Act to Amend the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 and for Other Related Matters”.
The bill seeks to remove CCT from the list of courts saddled with powers to initiate criminal proceedings against accused persons.

Highlighting include: “The provisions of this Act shall not apply to a court martial and such other courts or tribunals not being courts created and listed under Section 6(5) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended.”

Politics › Aluko Storms EKSU For Pensioners’ Verification by neolboy(op): 4:48pm On Apr 14, 2016
There was drama at Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado Ekiti on Thursday as the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Secretary, Dr. Temitope Aluko, showed up for the ongoing verification exercise of pensioners in the institution.
Aluko stormed the University’s Pension Office where he was attended to by officials responsible for the exercise.

The former Head of Department of Business Administration in the University displayed his EKSU 2016 Pensioner’s Verification Certificate to reporters and others present.

DAILY POST observed that Aluko’s pensioner’s number is 158 with his Year of Retirement being 2010.

The Ekiti governorship poll whistleblower said his verification was an evidence that he is a retiree at the state-owned university contrary to the claim by the state government that he was dismissed from service.

Aluko said: “Every three years, you have to appear at EKSU to show that you are alive and that you are a retiree at the university. I am just lucking my (pensioner) certificate now to show that I am a retiree now.

”The (Fayose) government has been saying that I was sacked but this is an evidence that I was not sacked. I built the Department (of Business Administration) from the scratch and rose to become the Head.

“I was never given any query, government people came here looking for my file in a desperate bid to implicate me. I retired here as a Senior Lecturer and I lectured here for 13 years.

“I served on many committees and I was returned as HOD for many times.”

Politics › Why Buhari Can't Help Saraki's In His CCT Trial —S'East APC by neolboy(op): 6:02am On Apr 13, 2016
ABUJA—The All Progressives Congress, APC, has explained its helplessness in the face of the ongoing trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, saying the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari cannot approbate and reprobate at the same time.

South East spokesperson of the APC, Osita Okechukwu, stated this at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja during a parley with journalists yesterday.

On the budgetary controversy surrounding the Lagos-Calabar railway, Mr. Okechukwu imputed that those opposing the project were doing that because of their political calculations for 2019.

The zonal APC spokesman said: “For the avoidance of doubt, we of the South East zone of APC do not subscribe to the insinuation, that those opposed to the project are afraid of the political gains Mr. President will make in the South East and South South.

‘’They allege that if the project sails, coupled with his success on the war against corruption and containment of insurgency, he will be unstoppable. Hence the fear that the two zones may support him in 2019, given the political value of the project.”

Urging the National Assembly not to throw the baby away with the bath water, the party said: “The welfare and prosperity of Nigerians far outweighs political gains. To erase this ungodly insinuation, we once more appeal to the National Assembly not to be caught in the political cross-fire.”

The South East Zone of APC therefore appealed to the National Assembly to let the Lagos-Calabar Railway Project be, saying, “as we have listened carefully to all the cacophony of voices, none has condemned the project as irrelevant or building bridge to nowhere. Let the blame game stop and let the project be. The controversy over the project is uncalled for and an ill-wind which blows no one good.

“Our appeal is anchored on the truism of millions of employment opportunities and economic prosperity which the project will engender.

We need projects like the Lagos-Calabar rail to create massive employment and revamp the economy. More so, when the reality is that both the executive and legislative arms are on the same page on the project, then it is of urgent national importance.

“We also understand that the Lagos-Calabar Project is in the China-Shopping List of President Muhammadu Buhari, for Nigeria’s infrastructure renewal."

This being the case, what kind of message are those opposed to the project in the National Assembly sending to the Chinese government if they continue to bicker over mundane procedure? Is it sabotage ?"

Politics › Mimiko Meets OPC Members Over Killing Of Colleague By Fulani’s Herdsmen by neolboy(op): 9:04pm On Apr 11, 2016
The Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko on Monday said the federal government must act now to stop the incessant killings of people, particularly farmers, by Fulani herdsmen.
The governor added that if the government failed to act, the country may be heading towards a precipice.

Mimiko stated this while meeting with members of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) over the death of one of their colleagues, who was allegedly killed by herdsmen at the farm belonging to the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae at Ilado community in Akure North local government area of the state.

The deceased, Ayodele Ige, was the coordinator of the group in Akure North local government.

Mimiko also noted that if urgent actions were not taken, people may resort to self help.

While appealing to the OPC not to take law into their hands, he urged the government to collaborate with northern states governors to set up big ranches with dams, including schools for the herdmen.

Mimiko assured the OPC members that those behind the killing of their member will soon be brought to book by the law enforcement agencies.

The governor who picked holes in the proposed Fulani grazing reserves bill by National Assembly, said it would further aggravate the crisis between the farmers and the herdsmen.

His words,”these herdsmen must be called to order, these wanton destructions, audacious incursions into other people’s territory cannot continue for too long.

“I am again appealing to Mr President and all the major stakeholders in government in Nigeria that we should put heads together and sort out this.

“For me, I see the grazing reserves as aggravating the problem; though I’ve not read the law, I don’t see how that law can find comfort with the land user’s act; the control of land is vested in the governor of the state; I can’t see any federal law that will compulsorily acquire any land from any state government; in my state for example, it cannot work.

“The owners of these cattles, according to the information in my disposal are well to do people, they are elites and if cattle rearing is commercial venture, why should they not contribute in collaboration with state government or Private Public Partnership or whatsoever to set up ranches, so that if you want to graze on such ranches, you pay a fee, after all, they don’t sell these cattle for free.

“We have been talking about diversification and agriculture is the main focus, but in my state there is hardly any medium scale or large scale farmers that has not had any encounter or the other with the herdsmen.

“They just go to the farm and devastated it, some of the owners have been turned to perpetual debtors because some of them borrowed from bank , the herdsmen will just get there and destroy these farmlands and we are talking of diversification.

“I think if we don’t do anything about the activities of these herdsmen, I can see a threat to the security of this country so it’s a major challenge and I think the President and all major stakeholders should take this as a very serious challenge.”

Politics › They Fight To Finish:10 Major Fierce Characteristics Of A Fulani Herdsmen by neolboy(op): 8:02am On Apr 11, 2016
It is no longer news that the constant clashes between Fulani herdsmen and farmers in most parts of Nigeria has taken a dangerous dimension...

Agatu indigenes recently staged a protest in the National Assembly over the activities of the Fulani herdsmen.

Frequently, the Nigerian media space is awash with stories of how Fulani herdsmen armed with sophisticated weapons storm villages and kill innocent villagers.

Our Source has been privy to an information purportedly written by a security officer attached to the first Governor-General of the Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria, the late Lord Lugard.

The information was recently brought to the public domain by national secretary of the Gan Allah Fulani Development Association, Sale Bayari.

The information is titled "10 major characteristics of the Fulani herdsmen".

Read below:

The unnamed security officer reportedly described the Fulani herdsmen ascetic and generous, but warned that no one should fight a war with them because they have:

1. No rules of engagement (they hit again and again).

2. No prisoners of war: They don't take prisoners.

3. No mercy once they pick you out as their enemy.

4. No fighting fatigue (they are forever fit and prepared, due to their lifestyle).

5. No need for adequate provisions and permanent abode (they live on very little and sleep in the wilderness).

6. No end to hostilities (they fight to finish).

7. No ignorance of the terrain and location (their lifestyle makes everyone of them a human GPS).

8. No deterrence due to casualties (they are strategically distributed all over West and Central Africa and highly mobile).

9. No need for tranquility (they have no permanent settlements which need peace to thrive.
10. No fear of consequences.

Meanwhile, peace talks have been planned by the federal government to address the constant clashes between farmers and Fulani herdsmen in the country.

According to a statement by Osaigbove Ehisienmen, the press secretary to the minister of interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, the government will organise a town hall meeting between both groups soon.

In a related development, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has said that Fulani herdsmen are not responsible for the attacks on farming communities in the country.

The governor said the attacks in the country were not carried out by Fulani herdsmen but herdsmen from from Mali, Ghana, Congo and Niger

Politics › Adeosun Unfolds Plans And Promised To Fix The Economy by neolboy(op):
The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, has said the government plans to reset Nigeria’s economy with structured borrowing, targeted investment and diversified growth.

Adeosun, who spoke to journalists after a special event hosted by the Lagos Business School at the weekend, also said part of the cash set aside to finance some energy projects would be used to help fund the budget.

“We have inherited a set of conditions that requires us to refine how we collectively work towards ushering in a new era in Nigeria,” she said.

Pointing to the impact of falling oil prices on the economy, the minister said: “In the past, we had the means but not the will. Now we have the will but we no longer have the money to invest. The safety blanket of oil has been ripped away, laying the poverty of Nigeria’s institutions bare.”

She added: “We have spent too many years tinkering at the edges of our institutions, our infrastructure and our economy and the mistakes and misjudgment of the last 40 years have set our clocks back by decades.

“We must collectively adopt a blueprint that equips the future generations to be creative and dynamic, that allows us to articulate a vision of a Nigeria, with a strong educational foundation; rich in depth of knowledge with a breadth of skills, an expansive infrastructure capable of servicing the needs of a nation of 150 million Nigerians.”

On the N1.8 trillion borrowings to invest in railway transportation, roads, housing, power and health, the minister said: “We are committed to a countercyclical budget expenditure model. This has been a success in other nations, offsetting the risk of recession and creating an economy which is not based on either fragile consumer spending or over-reliance on oil.”
Adeosun also used the forum to set out what she described as the four pillars of the economic plan: stimulate economic growth to achieve a real GDP growth of 4.2 per cent in 2017; reduce the cost of governance and strengthen institutions to combat corruption and extract efficiencies in public service; increase government expenditure on infrastructure; and fund the budget deficit and negative trade balance cost effectively.
She said the targeted outcomes would include a substantial increase in gross capital formation; acceleration of GDP growth; infrastructure development to unlock economic growth; diversification of the economy and growth of the non-oil sector; an improvement in the overall business environment; and improvement in key socio-economic indicators, jobs and wealth creation.
Adeosun also disclosed that the federal government might issue Chinese Panda bonds to help fund the 2016 budget.
She said the federal government was shopping for cheaper money to help fund the 2016 budget aimed at reviving the dwindling Nigerian economy, reported Reuters.
“Initially we were looking simply at the Eurobond market but then we began to explore opportunities in the renminbi market, so there is a possibility of issuing a Panda bond,” she said.
She added: “Our objective is to borrow the cheapest possible money and when we realised that the possibility of issuing a panda bond, which is a renminbi-denominated bond between issuing a euro denominated bond, we began to explore that opportunity. Indicatively, that will be cheaper for us than issuing a straight eurobond.”
The minister however declined to disclose the size of the possible issue, saying, “We were looking originally at doing about a billion dollars on the Eurobond market, so we may split that between the renminbi and the Eurobond.
“We are going to see what the pricing comes out as. At the moment indicative pricing is a bit cheaper – about 1.5 lower than the Eurobond.”
When asked about the timing, Adeosun said: “Our objective was always to be in the market early Q3.”
Later, she told a news conference that Nigeria might also sell Japanese Samurai bonds.

Adeosun said the government might use the money set aside for funding joint venture investment projects with private oil firms. Nigeria plans to boost tax income by 33 per cent in 2016 to offset a slump in oil revenues.

“If the revenue doesn’t come in, we have got N1 trillion in the budget for cash calls,” she explained.
Meanwhile, despite the foreign exchange curbs which have contributed to the economic downturn, the publications by commercial and merchant banks on the utilisation of forex bought from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) last week showed that 16 banks and three merchant banks were allocated a total of $189,489,057, in order to meet the forex demands of their customers.

Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTB) with a total of $24,556,150 received the highest allocation of forex from the central bank. GTB displaced Diamond Bank, which was allotted $21,576,682 to hold the second position, while Zenith Bank Plc with an allotment of $19,590,562 came in third.

Zenith Bank’s major customers last week in terms of forex sales were Dangote Agro Sacks Limited and Dangote Sugar Refinery which got a total of $5.376 million; KLM Airlines ($1 million); and Tiger Brand Consumer Goods ($1.054 million).

Also, Stanbic IBTC with $17,625,449 held the fourth slot, Ecobank Nigeria with $15,319,240 occupied the fifth position, and FirstBank Nigeria Limited with returns of $14,480,540 followed in sixth place.

United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) held the seventh position with total returns of $12,751,315 reported last week, while Union Bank of Nigeria occupied the eight position with returns of $10,707,425, just as First City Monument Bank (FCMB) with $10,689,039.54 held the ninth position. Sterling Bank with $8,099,228 came in 10th.

An assessment of its forex sales to customers during the week showed that Diamond Bank had a total of 202 corporate and individual customers.

Some of its corporate customers were Dangote Cement, Coscharis, Dana Airlines and Ratcon Construction Company Limited, among others. Its major customers were Dozzy Oil and Gas Limited to which it sold $2,188,793.26; Swift Oil ($2,554,632.16); Rahamaniya Oil and Gas Limited ($1,479,167.94); Bua Sugar Refinery ($1,000,000); and A-Z Petroluem ($6 million). The bank also sold the greenback to customers who required to pay for school fees and personal travel allowances (PTA).

To occupy the third position, Zenith Bank sold forex to a total of 405 customers – individuals and corporates. The corporate customers got forex for the importation of items such as natural gas, industrial raw materials and spare parts, among others. Just like its peers, Zenith Bank also sold large amount of dollars for school fees and PTA.

Stanbic IBTC sold the greenback purchased from the CBN to 90 customers. The exit by foreign portfolio investors continued with the sale of equities by Financial Portfolio Consulting, Enco Opportunity/Stanbic Nominees and Brown Brothers, among others.

Ecobank Nigeria Limited also sold its forex to 161 customers. Its customers utilised the dollars they purchased for loan repayments, purchase of motorcycle parts and other industrial raw materials, school fees and PTA.

The returns on forex utilisation published by FirstBank Nigeria Limited had 580 customers. Of this number, 53 got the greenback for the importation of industrial raw materials and other visible items, while the rest was for the payment of tuition fees abroad and PTA.

UBA with 156 customers on its list, also reported that its customers purchased dollars for the importation of completely knocked down motorcycles, raw materials, gas oil, remittance of ticket sales, and importation of tailoring materials, among other visibles, as well as for school fees and PTA.

Union Bank, which sold dollars to 87 customers, also had the importation of items such as unleaded gasoline, caterpillar spare parts, and pharmaceutical laboratory equipment as well as for payment of school fees abroad and PTA.

Similarly, FCMB sold dollars to 189 customers to import petrol, gas oil, other industrial raw materials and to pay school fees, just as Sterling Bank also sold dollars to 118 customers for both visible and invisible items.

Politics › "We Are Suffering," Kano Residents Chant During VP Osinbajo's by neolboy(op): 8:24pm On Apr 09, 2016
By Ibrahim Shuaibu in Kano

Kano residents cried out on Saturday about the economic hardship they are suffering before visiting Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, saying commercial activities in the state are being crippled

The residents carried different placards with various inscriptions calling the attention of the federal government to their plight and asking it to come to the aid of the masses over the situation .

Some of the placards read: “We are suffering, come to our aid”, while other placards urged the Federal government to intervene in the fuel problem facing the country.
“This is not the change we voted,“ they told the government.

The residents who came out in thousands were also forced to drop their placards by the security operatives.

Kano streets were deserted by the motorists over non-availability of petrol in the city and its environs.

Addressing hundreds of Sabon-Gari marketers, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said the Federal Government would assist the victims of the market fire disaster.

Professor Osinbajo said the Federal Government would help in every way to support the affected traders to rebuild their shops with a view to resuming their businesses.

“We will make sure that we provide and support you with what we have to ensure that people do not suffer.

The Vice President said: “I am here to bring greetings from President Muhammadu Buhari and to tell you that he is with you and standing with you even at this trying moment”.

He said even though there was a lot to be done to rebuild the market, the Federal Government would support the state government to make the market a modern one.

The vice president, who commiserated with the traders, prayed God to prevent future occurrence and replenish their losses.

Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo of an Ikeja High Court has adjourned till April 19, the trial of the Synagogue Board of Trustees, the engineers that constructed the collapsed building and their companies.

The court fixed the date yesterday, to rule on separate applications filed by the defendants through their counsel, seeking to stay proceedings of the High Court pending their appeal at the Court of Appeal.

The Lagos State Government had late last year slammed a 111-count criminal charges against Trustees of the church, the two engineers, Messrs Oladele Ogundeji and Akinbela Fatiregun and their companies, Hardrock Construction and Engineering Company; and Jandy Trust Limited for their involvement in the September 12, 2014 collapse of a six-storey guest house belonging to the church, which led to the death of 116 persons. But the defendants are yet to be arraigned on criminal charge due to various pre-trial applications filed by them.

When the matter came up yesterday, Mrs. Titi Akinlawon (SAN), counsel Fatiregun in an application dated March 3 prayed for an order adjourning further hearing pending the determination of her application before the Court of Appeal.

Arguing the application, she said, “The essence of the application for adjournment is that the High Court ruled that the hearing notices served on the fifth defendant was proper, a ruling we are appealing at the higher court.

“We also have before the court an application for stay of proceedings to await the decision of the Court of Appeal.
“On this strength, I appeal that an adjournment be granted by this court”.

Counsel to Ogundeji and Jandy Trust Limited, Chief E.L Akpofure (SAN) in an application dated Feb. 17 objected to the inclusion of Jandy Trust Limited as one of the defendants.

Akpofure argued that there was no evidence against the 2nd defendant (Jandy Trust Limited) and it was never mentioned by the witnesses for the state.

“There is nowhere where it was stated that the second defendant was awarded the building contract.

“The argument of the state that the trial of the second defendant to go on holds no water”, he said.

“I urge your lordship to quash this information relating to the second defendant as there was no mention of my client in the proof of evidence”, he submitted.

Counsel to the trustees of SCOAN, Mr. Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) agreed with the submission of Akpofure that Jandy Trust Limited should be excluded from the charge.

“I will submit that the concept of justice has no sentimental connotation, there have been no mention of the second defendant in the proof of evidence”, Fagbemi said.

Responding to the defence arguments, Mrs. Idowu Alakija, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) objected to their applications for adjournment, adding that Section 273 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) 2011 guided the proceedings of this court.

“It’s ordinary and natural application disallows a stay of proceedings on criminal matters to be entertained before any judgment be given.
“The rules of the Section are clear, the provision may seem novel but it was created to stop frivolous cases and applications until judgment is given.

“Since we filed the information, so many applications have been filed by the defence, some were successful while others were withdrawn.
“In finality, I submit that the rules guiding proceedings in this court is the ACJL 2011 and we are urging your Lordship to dismiss the application of the fifth defendant”, Alakija submitted.
