Damilolly:Hmm, I wouldn’t normally do this, but several pieces of advice here are deeply concerning. Full of stereotypes and false hopes that could be damaging. Op, tread with caution. |
Zendmann1:How much python do you think is necessary, if you don't mind me asking? For me, python was a walk in the park until I got to linked lists, bid-0 and recursion. Do you think one needs to go that far? |
ClixMaster:Don't mind him. You're correct. "An HND" is right. See my explanation above. To your question, yes, you can go directly to a master's degree in the US with your HND certificate from Nigeria. My recommendation is that you start with a WES evaluation. WES will evaluate your HND degree and most likely return it as a US bachelor's degree. This will make you eligible for a US master's degree. If you need any more help on how to go about this, let me know. |
PENNYSWAP:Actually, "an HND" is correct, and more appropriate than "a HND". I understand you're probably looking at it from the perspective of vowels and consonants, in other words, you have been taught that words that start with vowel letters are preceded by the "an" infinite article, such as "an elephant," and words that start with consonant letters are preceded by the "a" infinite article, such as "a boy." However, that teaching is incorrect. The letter does not determine the preceding article. What determines the preceding article is the sound, that is, a vowel sound or a consonant sound. For example, "European" starts with the vowel, "e" but you don't say "an European" because it does not have a vowel sound; instead, it has the consonant sound, /ˌjʊrəˈpiən/. The same applies to HND. Although H is a consonant, the sound is /eɪtʃ/, therefore, it has a vowel sound. For this reason, the right pronunciation would be, "an HND," not "a HND." The same is the reason why you will say, "A United States citizen" not "An United States citizen". Even though "u" is a vowel, the sound is /ju/ which is a consonant sound. Therefore, you have phrases line, "a union," "a unit," etc. and "an umbrella," etc. |
Those who went to polytechnics, got an OND, then transferred to a university to get a bachelor's degree, do they have an advantage over those who went straight to a university to get a bachelor's degree when it comes to the express entry points? I ask this because I want to know if going to a polytechnic to get an OND first and then transferring to a university for a Bsc counts for "two Canadian certificates, diplomas, or degrees, where one is for a program of three years or more." |
Afolavid:For someone who already has a bsc, after taking the certificate exam, will he not have to take the diploma exam and then finally the PGD exam? Or is only the certificate exam sufficient to boost his points? |
chukwuibuipob:So what would you say about the fact that Jay-Jay mentioned the mosquito@PSG as the greater player over your fav? |
alphabbey1:It’s about job prospect in the US, not visa. For visa, funding aside, it depends mostly on the school you’re going. Someone going to study English Literature at Harvard is more likely to get a visa than someone going to study Electrical Engineering at the University of the People. |
Segun2222:Oh really? The iPhone 6s actually uses iOS 15 too. |
KingDash:Lol, it’s actually me. I bought the phone for someone cos I saw it was cheap $150.00 |
pocohantas:I swear lol. I know someone who did exactly this two weeks ago. Bought an iPhone 6splus. |
CXLVII:And some of the people that go to those beaches regularly have no great job or nothing, just living from paycheck to paycheck. |
CXLVII:Very true. |
Olam09:Florida is actually one of the cheapest places in the US |
I will keep this post on here until the Champions League final, and quote whoever wins the prediction. So, drop your prediction, who wins the champions league this year? |
hayzed1090:That's their own perspective and everyone has a different one. Not everybody agrees with them either. Did you see that the original post I quoted has been removed? |
What team do you think will win this year's champions league? Interesting events already unfolding. I will keep this post on here until the Champions League final, and quote whoever wins the prediction (if we're all still alive to witness it). So, drop your prediction, who wins the champions league this year?

hayzed1090:Brother, I guess it’s just my own perspective here. What I said has nothing to do with money. If he used that 30K or whatever the ticket fee was to buy a nice pair of shoes or some gadget, I’d definitely say congratulations, because that’s some luxury. But flying on a plane does not sound like luxury to me at all, in fact, I see it as an inconvenience, just knowing I’d be strapped to the same position for hours, and end up tired with painful eardrums. Outside of the insecurity in Nigeria, I’d rather get on a bus from Abuja to Lagos, at least I can stop the driver, get out and stretch, see some interesting sight out the window, and buy some snacks on the way. This has nothing to do with money. |
That at least I have an identity. When you are far away from home, you'll be thankful for at least having a home and knowing your heritage, no matter how bad that home may be. |
kennyamusan:Bro, I just tire for these people o. Commercial planes are not even designed for luxury, which is why some people opt for private planes or first class. I can't even express how much I get tired for sitting for so long on those flights. I neither find it convenient nor enjoyable. |
ElValiente:If getting on a plane would give you more satisfaction than throwing a live rat to a cat, then by all means, get on one and accept my warmest congratulations. Hopefully that may at least stop you from gambling, womanizing, drinking, and fighting. |
yunqdady:If I was a kill joy, I would be telling him about the dangers of flying in order to induce anxiety in him. I never said anything about phobia or whatever could cause fear in him. All I did was ask the person who said congratulations that what exactly was that for? The reason I made that comment was because I honestly didn't know some people consider flying as some achievement. Anytime I need to fly, the worst part of my trip is usually the flight. Not a phobia or anything, but just because I have to sit in the same position for several hours without even moving an inch at all. And when it's a long flight, the food is usually something I hate too. What I do nowadays is, before my flight, I make sure to stay awake all night, just so I can sleep through the flight. But guess what, it's never a convenient sleep, and when I wake up, I still find myself on the damn plane, and I'm like, when exactly am I getting to my destination? The only time I enjoyed my flight was when I sat with a pretty girl and we had a good time - that day it seemed like the flight went pretty fast. Otherwise, I don't see anything interesting about it, I just pray for a safe landing. If you consider flying as an achievement, then by all means, accept my warm congratulations, because at the end of the day, it's all about whatever makes you happy. |
yunqdady:Weird for not being interested in flights? Have you heard of aviophobia or aerophobia. Not saying that is the issue, but what exactly is fun is being strapped to a seat and having to remain in that same position for hours? If there was another means of travelling, why would I consider that? And if I do have to consider it, why would that come off as some sort of achievement? |
Imustnottalk:Youmustnottalk ![]() |
EmmyOD:Think about it, what exactly is it to bad belle about in this? Like I said, I avoid flying at all cost if I could. Why would I try to bad belle anything here? |
richmond500:An extremely long, boring, and lonely flight. Was extremely tired. I never looked forward to flying on a plane again after that. Allow the guy to have a first time experience before deciding which is convenient for himNobody is disallowing him from anything, and no one is deciding anything for him. All of that is in your head. |
Imustnottalk:In that case, we should congratulate you for entering a taxi or uber, or aren't those good things too? |
omonla10:You're not missing anything, trust me. There's nothing there. |
Commentor:My question is, why do you see it as a victory? I avoid flights at every slightest opportunity. I'm sure my background is not any better that his, or yours, but flying on a plane has never been something I craved nor enjoyed, even before my first experience. It's just another means of transportation, and I wonder why it could be considered a victory. A month ago, I went on a 12-hr trip by bus, something I could do by plane for 1 hr, 30 mins, but I simply wanted to avoid flights. So, why do you consider it a victory, whether for him or for anyone else? |
Depends on who you are, where you are coming from, your abilities, and your goals. You are comparing capitalism with socialism here. |
KayDee02:how is travelling by air an achievement that you have to congratulate someone for, or isn't it just another means of transportation? Do you also congratulate people for entering a taxi? |
anastasius:No mind them. If not, why all of them never leave? |
