Ugoh11: you do not need a collateral. Just go to their site www.prodigyfinance.com and apply, its very straight forward as long as your school is among the schools they partner with and fund. I am a recipient. I just got my loan approved, No hassles. I have a question concerning this. What about the issue of bank statement? Does it mean your school will no longer request for a bank statement if you are applying for a loan? |

God bless me more and more Lol, but Good Friday does not have a definite date like your birth date nah. Next year, it may turn out that His son was arrested and killed five days before your birthday or after. HBD to you, may all your endeavors this year be met with success! |

FrankNetter: I never saw any female altar server in Port Harcourt, I also have witnessed some Catholic parishes where hair covering is policed strictly. I think it all boils down to location and the parish priest's preferences. Exactly! Great job you are doing here. Pls endeavor to share more experiences from time to time on life there; both the pros and cons. |
Travel › Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by neurosci: 2:51pm On Apr 11, 2017 |
FrankNetter: I was an alter server during my early teenage years, all through my time in the association, I never for once came in contact with one female altar server. It appears things are much more different around here. One more thing I noticed was that no one policed anyone to cover their hair when entering church. The ladies left their hair bare.
Finally, the "sign of peace" part of the holy mass lasted more than 20 minutes
Everybody was just hugging and shaking everybody, some were even gisting. for real! Since Pope John Paul 2 approved of female altar servers, I have come across very many in Nigeria, especially in Lag and Abk. But there was a particular priest in my parish some years ago who said he would not allow female altar servers even though several girls were willing to join. So, there was never a female altar server in my Parish. Regarding the time spent during the sign of peace, again it depends on the priest (even in the US), as some priests officiating will never permit such a lengthy period. Imagine priests who have like three masses to officiate in a day. Msgr Osigweh will never allow that. So, overall I think it all boils down to the interest of the priest. Actually, I've never seen any female being queried about covering hair in any parish in Naija. I never knew such could exist sef. |

LagosismyHome: E shipping is expensive for what they provide but most schools tend to use it... it like $110 or so range. Don't have the exact figure . ...but when you pay you have the option to pick dhl , fedex or ups as the shipper
Here i have seen advice that if you have someone in the usa. You can ask the school to send it to that person for free and then the person can send it to you using USPS Express service for half of that $110 . Jeez!!! To go to Yankee no be small thing o! After spending a lot on app fees, WES evaluation, GRE, TOEFL, score report, transcript, SEVIS, and i-20 shipping, one VO will now come and deny person of visa again Na wa o! Thanks for the info @lagosismyhome |

LagosismyHome: Have you paid for the shipping and where you given a tracking number.....because if it taking a month that would mean it has not been shipped ... then that a different conversation .
Go back to the school and clarify the exact status and if its been shipped, ask for the tracking number and track to see delivery date....eship global is not cheap so it is trackable online with an ETA ...... What if its been delivered and someone else signed for it Pls how much does the shipping cost, and what service do you think is most affordable and reliable? |

omoluabiguy: So I was checking the US embassy website trying to check some procedures and found an exchange rate written in red color (probably for visa fee payment I guess) for 340/$. As for the schools, they can't use more than the bank rate (Form A rate) as the rate that would be used to pay tuition and form A rate as at today is 360/$ wow! Thank you very much for the efforts. |

Teedawg: they don't use parallel as it's not the official rate they use what you see when you use Google to convert am sure they use google to the interbank rate is the exchange rate..u can also let them understand the exchange rates fluctuate so that they'll able to use the exchange rate of the day it was printed or sent if you want cod you Neva know Thank you! |
Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by neurosci: 9:43pm On Apr 04, 2017 |
Teedawg: just send them like that and identify who they are too you If the school has a financial certificate form for you too fill have them both fill it separately forget about currency just do your own calculation here and make sure its up to theirs then send it..they'll convert it themselves Thanks. But the actual reason why I am asking is in order to know if what I am having here is sufficient. If I calculate it using the interbank exchange rate, it will be sufficient. But if I use the parallel market exchange rate, it won't be sufficient. And I'm being careful not to send it to them yet, because if the use the parallel market, then my admission will be denied due to insufficient funds. So, I need to know the rate to use in calculating it. |

imperiouxx: Hope you see where I addressed his question in my first line. I went further to let him know even if science is not required for entry into in a 4 year BSN program, science is needed to finish a nursing program. If a non traditional science student can attend a MD/DO or PA school and graduate, how much more nursing program? His ability to cope as a non traditional science student depends on how smart and committed he's to take on the challenges. Problem I've seen with many people diving into nursing program from other field is they only looking at the incentives nurses receive. Okay, thanks for the enlightenment, sir. |

imperiouxx: If you're applying for a 4 year BSN program, then you may not need sciences to get in but you need science to finish a nursing program. Mistake some people make is going for nursing and not science inclined. Many nursing courses are sciences eg Chem, bio, O.Chem, physics, pharmacology, pathophysiology, anatomy&physiology, microbiology etc. I guess he is particular about what it takes to get in. But even if he gets in without a science background, do you think he will ever be able to cope? Do you think the tutorials he will get in school on those science courses you mentioned would be sufficient for him to pass his exams without the high school science experience? |

Hi guys, I'm owing someone $20- a payment for my TOEFL score recipient shipping from ETS. I couldn't succeed in paying the person back via paypal as I had hoped, so I'm now thinking of buying US dollars here and sending to the person, since he does not want the naira equivalent. But I do not have a domicialiary account or Form A to send dollars to the person. So, I want to ask if there's anyone here who needs the naira equivalent of $20. I'll send you the money, while you will help me send $20 to the person I'm owing. Is it possible? Is there anyone here who can help with this? |
