Good job here. ![]() @Op and other members of this house, please where can someone get watermelon seeds in Ogun State? Any location in Abeokuta? |
Dremichaels: hello, i just stumble across this thread today. I'm an engineering graduate of mapoly currently serving and fell in love wit abeokuta during my school days. I have a dream to open a morden fashion designing outfit in the city. I want to enrol in a reputable fashion school so as to learn abt fashion entrepreneurship but nysc is delaying me cos I couldn't work my posting to Lagos and I can't find a good fashion school in kogi where I'm posted. I jst hope I wont lose interest b4 I finish my service. I jst need some encouragement from this house.@ Engr Dremichaels ![]() You are welcome. I congratulate you for completing your studies in our great city ( City/State of the firsts ). I also want to thank you for having interest in the city. ![]() Please do not lose interest on the fashion career. I see a lot of opportunities in fashion. There are a lot of fashion institutes in Lagos, but if you are financially buoyant, you may go to Europe for few short courses to master this. By the way, why don't you think inwardly and start something great from you Engineering knowledge? we may work together and create an innovate business from that engineering skill, but if you have more passion in Fashion, who am I to say nay when your instinct and passion lies in fashion for real.Oooh! I almost forget to tell you, I know a creative fashion designer, though I don't think she wants to train anyone at the moment, cos she is learning footwear & accessories design now. Yet, she may share some experience. My brother keep calm & start-up. Please send me a PM here on NL or drop you email, if you wish to join the group and become a full member. ![]() |
Nafizzey: Hello house. greetings to everyone who has been part of this group. I fervently laud the efforts of the Op for coming up with this initiative.@Nafizzey, Welcome to the group. Thanks for commending the effort of all members here. You may send a PM to me here or drop your email address, so that I will be able to send you the groups Whatsapp contact. By the way, what do you plan doing after your service year? You should be planning in advance. Do you have any idea yet? What do you have passion for? What other activities do you have interest in, aside entrepreneurship? The house is also excited to have you as one of us. (Though online member but maybe one day, you may have a business in Abeokuta, which will automatically make you a full member) |
spiralwedge: op, Good One. I am in.@spiralwedge, Welcome to the group. Could you please share with us what you do at the moment? We would like to know if you as aspiring or budding entrepreneur. The house would like to know your business interest and other activities you have interest in. We would also like to know your present location. If you are located in Abeokuta, you can drop your email so that I forward the group's pre-registration e-form to you. |
baba11: I already had these...thanks!!You are welcome. Could you please share the skills you have, maybe we could brainstorm which one of it you could turn into a business venture. ...and who knows? It may become the next big company in Nigeria. ![]() Keep calm and start-up. |
ymdo: PING!!! Hello everyone. My name is Yinusa and I'm also an aspiring entrepreneur. I'm still schooling but there is this business(plantain farming) that's been on my mind for over two years now. I think I will need this forum for the moral support and encouragement because I easily loose concentration especially when things aren't going according to plan. Add me up on the group. ThanksWelcome ymdo. I like your ability to see the future, as Agric is the next big thing that's gonna happen in Africa as forecasted by economy stake holders. Having said that, do you reside or have business in Abeokuta or its environ? Though this group is open to all entrepreneurs, but our main concentration at this level is starting from our community, and then growing beyond the state and country. So, we want to start from our small community first. All the same, we can share ideas and tips online here. |
baba11: ..I support your view but how do one go about it..pls,we need to know...Think inwardly if you have any talent or hobby you have great passion for. if you discover the skills you have, then develop it by having formal knowledge in that area. formal knowledge doesn't necessarily mean you should go learn it in school. There are vocational facilities and professional bodies that support people who have passion for the field and discipline. If you can't discover your skills yet(cause everyone one has hidden talents) then go and learn the skills you don't have, but you will like to have. There are lot of skills you could learn out there. |
Nafizzey: Great thread OP I commend ur efforts.Creative and logical thinking can help you in identifying a societal or global problem. Curiosity, findings, capacity building will help you come up with solution. Your gut, passion and skills will help you create a business model for this solution to transform it into a venture for you. All the best. On a last note, find people who share same interest and like-minds to connect with ( networking ). share ideas and information, utilize the internet. Bonus tip: if you are in Abeokuta you may join our meet-up group, which is at it's infant stage : https://www.nairaland.com/1831775/young-aspiring-entrepreneurs-abeokutalets-meet |
My simple and reasonable advice is: if you can't get a job, get a skill ( if you want to go farther, prepare yourself and mind right from college to become an employer rather than becoming an employee ) Get a skill! |
