Ticha: I can't tell you if it's profitable for you or not. Risk appetite and market conditions differs as well as base income level etc however the same principles apply everywhere - you will need to research the specific areas you're interested in. Scotland is a huge place and has specific policies for landlords so make sure you know all those - https://www.onlinemortgageadvisor.co.uk/buy-to-let-mortgages/buy-to-let-scotland/
Research purchase prices and costs (deposit, stamp duty, survey, legal fees etc), rental costs, (maintenance costs, the potential taxes, licensing fees, management fees etc) you'll pay. A btl calculator will give you an indication of what you can afford to buy - the rent you will need to achieve to get a btl and stamp duty costs.
Then decide if it's worth investing into. Thanks Ticha |

HenryG: Hello everyone, Please I need your help. I am bit shaking right now. I am a student in the UK. I was contacted over the weekend for data optimising job for App review for play stores and Apple stores through an agency. There is a form of payment that comes through the website where we review Apps for optimization (Which is just a click and submit review for Apps). The money from the website (in USDT) can be sent to a Crypto wallet (OKX). I had to buy buy USDT 2 times yesterday and today for the work which was £66 spent. The purchase was through P2P by paying directly into the seller bank account and then the seller releasing Crypto(USDT) to me in my OKX account. It all went successfully though. and I have realised £166 within the days together with my £66 But later, I started checking if I am eligible to engage into Crypto as an International student in the UK. I have not sold any Crypto than to buy 2 times(over the weekend. Please I do hope I am not in a mess already as an international student. Your response will be appreciated. Thanks Op, just a little off topic... Please did you register your place of residence as UK or Nigeria? I updated mine to Nigeria. Now I can't see trades on P2P from Nigeria. I can only see in UK. And I can't even trade |

tushqueen: No gree oo, I just collected a good percentage out of my deposit dew weeks ago. We've been on it since March this year, the tenancy deposit scheme came in to the matter. Luckily we had picture evidences and the check-in/ checkout documents sent by the agent also helped.
We maintained that most damages were consistent with use. Landlord maintained he wanted all our deposit. After all dragging he says we should let go of half of the tenancy,we still no gree. We agreed to let go of £70 (wasn't a good idea). Tenancy scheme stepped in, first deducted the £70 and said the disagreement is now based on the remaining amount. We later lost about 1/3 of the money.
My lesson, next time I won't let go of shishi. I do my best to keep the house nice and lovely during and esp after tenancy so why do I have to let go ofy deposit
Deposit scheme Sweet. Thanks. The tenancy deposit scheme has given them 30 days to reply. Waiting patiently. Thanks to all who inputted and gave advice |

Solumtoya: I doubt if AMEX does that automatically. Just go to the chatbot on the app and request a limit increase. I randomly requested for a limit increase to £10k a while back and was granted.
Meanwhile, someone used my referral link recently:
https://americanexpress.com/en-gb/referral/jEDIDAgksF?XL=MNMNS
Fresh users should always apply using a referral link so you can start off with Avios points. Mine gives 6,000 points now. My score recently dropped from 967 to 815 due to change of address. I'm pained. Now that I'm ready for CC, experien keeps saying I'm not eligible for any. Mtchw |

giselle237: Go to the deposit scheme… I am sure you were sent online details. Dispute it there and claim back everything and so the process will be kickstarted. Dont ask for any receipt nor go to the agency. The deposit should be with a scheme. Go to the scheme and start with the claim to get all you deposit back. You will kickstart the process. Don’t agree to anything as you will shoot yourself in this way . If it gets to adjudication the team will still judge it wisely Mine wanted to deduct 1k for extravagant charges they got only 60 pounds after the long process of adjudication. The scheme would handle it all free of charge. Total process took about 2 months Many thanks. I'll do just that |

Cashmadam: First, the N6M is already a red flag - unless it was from the sale of an asset or bulk allowance from his employer.
Letter from employer carries little weight but it's okay to have it. The letter should state start date of employment, annual salary and other allowances
Three months POF is neither here or there. I've done one month, four months, six months. If that is what he has, he can submit three months.
The important thing is to prove that he will not be a liability to the British Government and he will come back to Nigeria. Thanks a lot for your response. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Newbie123: 1:08pm On Aug 01, 2023 |
giselle237: he or she needs to show statements to corroborate the financial circumstances they claim they have. Having 6 million or 100 billion in the account is of no importance to the ECO. It is how the money came about and how to prove that on the balance of probabilities such a person will be returning home as their financial/economic/personal circumstances are established and tied down in Nigeria and can not afford to run away during the said trip. So 6 million that magically started counting last month will not impress any ECO. He works at a federal university and can attach payslips along with a letter from the university. He's also into agro business. |

Guys please, for visitors visa, must the pof be up to 3 months?
Also, when getting a letter from place of work to show ties or something, are there any specific details the letter should contain? Should it be dated?
Any advice to help boost application would be appreciated please
The person would be applying solo to come for tourism/vacation so no mention of sponsor or family or friends. Except of course this would help in anyway.
Please help. He has about 6M in account which started counting last month |

dentalux: Good evening elders, goodevening @lexusgs430 Please I need advise. I I recently just got my new brp for the PSW visa. Before now, I was working with my student Visa and it happened that during that time I applied to care and support agency, and they responded that they do not accept students. I explained that I was already done with my school and they asked me to give them an evidence, I collected a letter from student support stating I was no more restricted by the 20hrs.
Only for me to start work and then a certain week, I did 40hrs for the agency and they paid me for only 20hrs. I called and they said it is because of the restriction on the hours. I explained I already submitted a letter from the school an they apologised that they will pay.
Two weeks later I received an amount from transferwise smaller than the amount owed normally they pay comes from "wepay(the company handling their payroll). My mind told me they were the one, when I called they said they were the one. I asked the reason paying me this amount through a private account of an employee and he said I was paid off NI. I told me my money was not complete and he said that is the amount cos it is off NI. I explained to him that I already submitted evidence removing the 20hrs restriction. He said they also removed uniform money. I asked him to send me a payslip showing the deduction that I dont mind but send me a payslip. I reported the matter to the manager but apparently they all together and people i have spoken to said that agency is known for doing that. That they keep passing you around till you get tired.
Please what is the right way of demanding for my payslip? I have never worked more than 20hrs in any week during school term. I just want an evidence for monies deducted. Please how do I go about this/ I don't know how far you're willing to take the matter especially if they are sponsoring you. Don't know if this would affect anything as clearly, this is not Nigeria but I believe politics and witch hunting still exists within some places. You might want to send them an official mail stating everything that has occured. Tell them you will be forced to seek legal advice if the issue is not resolved and state a time frame. If by the end of the time fram, nothing happens, contact ACAS (just Google them). Make sure this all happens within 3 months though. My 2cents |

Please what can a laboratory technologist who studied microbiology and lectures practical sessions in a university in Nigeria do in UK?
We're trying to explore possible opportunities upon arrival. What certifications can one do or career paths available please.
Thank you
Also, please, for visitors visa, how much should one ideally have in the account?
I know 6 months is usually given but does the person need to state how long he's staying and therefore have enough rent and expenses to cover for that period?
Please help clarify |
