All these negative headlines, corruption in high places, quarreling and bickering among politicians, how leaders rig elections,, ! is it that nothing good is happening among these people in leadership positions or what! Its really frustrating sometimes, hearing all these, when will we begin to get things right? |
Can somebody take a second look at that Kano Pillars logo? Is that the official logo? Especially where it says: ESTANBUSHED [Established ?] 1990. If that is how it appears on their official logo then somebody needs to do something about that soon |
If you love her, give her a second chance for the sake of the past, even if what you IMAGINED is the case. |
This match is the first time I will summon courage to watch Nigeria play since this world cup, I should not have! I think the team should be wearing tags on their kits boldly inscribed with; Warning; watching our matches can be dangerous to your health |
Egypt currently holds the African Nations Cup title, Algeria defeated Egypt in a tension soaked match to qualify for the world cup. I wonder why anyone will imagine Algeria to be an easy walk over for ANY TEAM in this world, especially England where more than half of their football is played on the tabloids and electronic media. |
Overall, very impressed with the performance of R.S.A. team, I wonder where South Africa, of all countries, got such a team from, or is this just a flash-in-the-pan performance, buoyed by home support ? |
Nollywood bashing, not again!! Let those who can do it better take up the challenge and bring out better movies from Nigeria, instead of all these endless assault on the efforts of a few who are not doing things right in the Nigerian movie industry. |
After all said and done, I hope the handlers of these fellows are really out to help and not trying to use their newly found fame to line up their [handlers] pockets! |
Whether this is confirmed or not, appointment of INEC chairman {whoever it is} is just one step in the much needed electoral reforms Nigerians are calling for, the primary aim of which should be that the choice of THE PEOPLE at every election is allowed to prevail, rather than the current regime of selection and impositions, leading to protracted legal tussles. The time and subsequent events ahead will reveal Mr President's sincerity of purpose in this regard |
Has anyone here got any useful information about PRINCE 2 program in Nigeria, such as a. Is/are there any accredited institution[s] offering it in Nigeria? b. The cost of training and examination for both Foundation & Practitioner levels, c. What is the general level of awareness of the program there? Thanks |
sad as this story is, it is a common phenomena, with some moms even going as far as pimping their daughters for pounds! But the onus lies with the girl to set herself free, that is if she is really fed up, and there are so many ways to go about that since she is not here illegally. I don't want to hear anything like she is scared of the mum, that to me is nonsense! No parent has the right to ride it rough on their wards for any reason! |
Grow up and get a life ! that is what you should do |
Times like these when one is not sure where some of these so-called activists really stand, make me remember the late Chief Gani, firm and uncompromising till death!! |
@OP, Kick-off time is 7:45 pm rather, Whoever is responsible for it may want to reflect this on the home page where it says 5:45pm! |
Quote from: Sagamite on April 25, 2010, 04:01 AMI thought that was too extreme a conclusion to draw about a whole country, just because of a cover page error from a soft sell magazine! Fancy this one from the cover page of today's edition of Metro, a London newspaper: Simon Cowell has admitted he's too wrapped up http://e-edition.metro.co.uk/2010/04/27/index.html?p=1 Bros, typos happen everywhere, {including the very home of English} when due attention is not paid to details |
Reminds me of a case way back, a newly married lady caught her hubby in the act doing it with a young girl. Enraged and acting wildly, she started screaming all kinds of things, attracting a size able crowd in the process. When she finally calmed down, she told the crowd what had happened, probably expecting them to help her descend on the man and his partner-in-crime still indoors! Disappointed, someone shouted from the crowd; Is that why you are screaming as if someone died? Did they sell his manhood to you alone? One after the other, the crowd thinned out, leaving the poor girl to bear her pains alone, Its unfortunate that we { Africans} tend to take it for granted, especially when its the man doing it. The best way to react is to leave your spouse if you cannot forgive and bear it. |
James Onanefe Ibori is said to be the come-back-kid, wherever he is now, am sure he will be plotting a new escape route, Houdini style, , but for how long will this hide and seek game continue between Ibori and the law? ''There is no rest, says the Lord, for the wicked'' Isaiah 57:21 |
whichever way one looks at it, this is a very courageous decision by Ag. President Goodluck Jonathan, hope it pays off well |
Such a colourful politician. its so sad a news! |
Sam Odeh is sure an achiever. His tenure as a Special Assistant to former Governor George Akume and Special Adviser to Governor Gabriel Suswam may not lend itself to close evaluation, but his brief stint as caretaker Chairman of Oturkpo local government speaks volumes of his energy and passion for development. He initiated a good number of projects within a very short period. it got to a point when he embarked on street rehabilitation project, something that had been left undone for years, older politicians and promoters of his immediate predecessors became jittery. Various warning messages were allegedly sent to ward him off from trying to surpasses the achievement record of those before him. Those who believe in black magic attributed the near fatal accident he had within that period to the handiworks of enemies of progress. It was a miracle how he survived that accident. Enough said, his sterling record as Chairman of Oturkpo L.G are there to be verified As a person, he is very warm, humorous, compassionate and generous to a fault, oh yeah! The wife Christy, was my immediate junior and a good friend in the university. Way back then, he was a struggling businessman and use to pop in and out to see the wife, {Fiancee then}, himself and late Paul Ochoga. Anytime we receive news that he was in town, I and some friends will abandon everything to track down big brother for some manna and he never disappointed! He will crack your ribs with jokes, encourage you and wad you up with smiles, most times, emptying his pockets in the process! But all these happened some years ago! You never know what politics can do to some of these fine folks. Pray he still remains the same forthright development oriented person! Congrats to him and other nominees, fingers crossed! |
My take all these talks about what makes or unmakes relationships? People in relationship should try and unlearn every bias and preconceptions they have acquired about successful relationships and work out whatever arrangement is convenient for the two, based on their purpose for embarking on the relationship in the first place. I use to thinks it is childish to sign a prenuptial. I don't think so anymore. |
Yesterday it was Yar’adua To Attend FEC today, we hear Yar’adua To Attend Jumat, who knows what we will hear about this elusive president next? You will always have this kind of rubbish where governance is by the rule of thumb, where every law is a servant to politics. God save Nigeria! |
It might appear a little too harsh given the guy's condition, but of what use is any law if it can be hampered by sentiments? The best way to avoid this kind of situation was to have prevented it from arising in the first place |
Whoever Jonathan appoints to head such key ministries as Finance, Justice, Petroleum Resources/Energy Power etc, including who heads such bodies as INEC, EFCC, will go a long way to show how serious he is in moving Nigeria forward. He has a choice to either play the usual 'settlement politics' of his predecessors tilted towards selfish ends, or do something radical and selfless and thus write his name in gold Fingers crossed |
A very big congratulation to this unique politician called Peter Obi, pray he maintains his focus, that way, it will be well with Anambra |
I think OBJ is one of the very few lucky Nigerians, in other climes, leaders like him will be cooling their heels somewhere answering some serious questions! Anyhow, Happy Birthday Oga OBJ! |
Rilwan Lukman has been there for as long as my memory can serve me, Many many years back in JSS class, I remember that name as an answer to a Social Studies question in an exam, wonder why they kept on recycling him year in year out, especially in the petroleum sector, as if no one else can replace him. Hope he will go and rest for good this time |
akigbemaru:One crime hardly rights the wrongs of the other, there are loads of legitimate ways to address the points you raised. |
On a lighter note, i got this mail this morning, don't know how true though: “In your own (best) interest, no matter the position you are offered in ANY organisation (Office, Church, Meeting/Club, Party Planning, Tenants’ Association, Activist, etc), if your Deputy is named "Goodluck”, PLEASE DECLINE, even if it is UN Secretary General or Head of African Union, whatever, JUST DECLINE! Should you think I am joking, check these facts: *Goodluck was Assistant Head Boy in primary school. The Head Boy got expelled. Goodluck took over. * Goodluck was Assistant Senior Prefect in secondary school, the Senior Prefect died, Goodluck took over. *Goodluck was Deputy Local Government Chairman. The Chairman got implicated in corruption and got removed from office. Goodluck took over *Goodluck was deputy governor to Alameiseigha. We all know that story * Goodluck was Vice President to President Yar’Adua:- PERICADIATIS! A friend of mine just called off his Church Wedding. Why? His BestMan’s name is Goodluck!!! ![]() |
I don't think so. Some couple of populist decisions here and there to cool down peoples' temper, yes, but do not expect too much, the man will just play safe to complete the remaining months of this ill-fated tenure. Don't forget the circumstances through which he came on board |
The problems besetting Naija footsie goes beyond Amodu, so sacking him is not going to translate into any sudden turn of good fortunes. A football administration that rotates around a few individuals and their cohorts who have ran out of creative ideas, year in year out, will not produce anything worth cheering, even if they employ Hiddink !! |
Most refreshing piece of news I've heard from Naija in recent times!! Anambra state is surely on the right track with Peter Obi in the saddle, hope he does not allow himself to be distracted though |
