Upeople: Thank you for your response. She has a valid temporary resident permit / work permit. My concern is as a result of this Covid situation. Do they still approve tourist visas? I’m not even worried about getting priority processing, I just want to know if a tourist visa application can be approved at this time when countries are restricting travels to only essential travelers. |

Hello house, a female friend of mine (in Europe) wants to visit me here in Canada. We’re trying to decide the best strategy to use so as to avoid visa rejection. Applying as a tourist without an invitation letter or applying to visit me (I will be providing an invitation letter)? I currently don’t have my PR (awaiting response from IRCC) but I have my post graduate work permit. What do you think is the best way to approach the application? Thanks. 1 Like |

muizzzz: @muizzzz, which admission letter will your friend be using to reapply? Is it the same one he used in the previous application? If its the same one, then there might be a problem. My understanding about seeking a refund is that you no longer want the admission. This will usually mean the admission will be cancelled. I don't think you can seek a refund and still have the admission. "Your friend" is trying to be smart but i think he just played himself. kindly clarify |

afamnwodo10: You can reduce it to maybe 4 months or 5 months and scan in black and white. Explain why you can't upload the 6 months SOA and why you scanned in black and white. What i did was that i created like a table of content page for my financials. It will be like: Doc no 1 - Naira account Doc no 2 - Dollar account Doc no 3 - Tuition payment receipt etc So you can make the explanation on the table of content page which should be the first page the VO will see when reviewing your financial. Wish you the best |

mcobex: So i checked the school's site and i found this. @vivicintia, please check page 11 on this link https://extendedlearning.ubc.ca/sites/extendedlearning.ubc.ca/files/cs/documents/program/ipp/ipp-agent-handbook.pdf |

mcobex: @mcobex (my oga), i believe she's mixing everything up. The school cannot refuse to refund her money since her visa was refused. She will only lose a little amount categorized as administrative charges. She should notify the school with the letter from the embassy as proof. Beside, i do not think any school in Canada has a policy to withhold applicants money when visa is refused. In most cases the amount not refundable is usually the seat/acceptance deposit when the applicant receives TRV but decides to attend another school. So even if they say they want to withhold the seat deposit which is $2000, they still have to refund the $3000. They will refund her money but it might take between 3 to 7 weeks. 1 Like |

vivicintia: @vivicintia, your money will be refunded if you send a mail to them attaching your correspondent letter from the embassy. The NON REFUND policy is for applicants that got their visas approved. They will charge you for administrative fees which should not exceed $200. A friend of mine who is currently in UToronto got is $3500 back from UBC after his visa application was refused. So don't worry, you will get your money. Sorry that your app got refused. Wish you the very best. 6 Likes |

segtak25: @segtak25, I'll advise you to apply to other schools as soon as possible, get you admission before the end of this year and apply for your visa latest February. The processing time would not exceed 6-7 weeks around February. |

amihbkt767676: I'll suggest you write your school to defer your admission to winter section. Its late to apply for September classes. At this time, you should consider working on why your last application was refused. Don't do anything in a rush because most times they are usually untidy. Take time out to cross all Ts and dot all Is. Get some other supporting documents to validate what you have on your SOP and also an updated SOA. Best of luck |

jnyuwa02: you are toast! , this is so funny. We all just need to be truthful with our applications (whether Visa application or any other application). @Jobitex, Just a tick has cost you your money, time and your name. What is the worst that can happen if you say the truth? REFUSED APPLICATION. Lets be wise. I don't know if this can also prevent you from entering USA. @jnyuwa02 can it? I don't know what you can tell them, but if you have a good reason then you can reapply. If an agent applied for you and you indicated it on your app. You can use that as an excuse Best of luck |

Bollyjane2001: @Bollyjane2001, kindly send a mail to accraimmigration@international.gc.ca, nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca, LDNIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca, lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca immediately. Your application has exceeded the normal processing time. You can also use the IRCC WEB FORM The subject should be something like this UPDATE FOR STUDY PERMIT APPLICATION IFO STELLA MARIS YAKUB APPLICATION NO: S309090909. Ensure you state that your application has spent X no of weeks with them, which is way beyond the normal processing time. Wish you the best |

BayourC: @BayourC, I'm really sorry your application got refused. I'm sure you will be asking yourself if these people that got their VISAs on the first or second attempt did anything special. They did nothing special my brother, they only presented a good application and also had grace. Most importantly, it was their time. We all have different times and never should you compare yourself to others. It really hurts, I was there more than twice. So cry if you want to but allow yourself to heal. Take a break from nairaland if need be and relax. Review the documents you submitted for the previous applications and check them against why your application was refused. I'm sure you don't want to miss out on this great place because Canada is a great place to be. Victorious people don't just quit, they keep striving till they win. A lot of people were denied twice, thrice etc. I know of someone that was denied six times. He never gave up. He is currently in Canada and will be getting his PR after getting his masters. A lot of people have is easy in life while some others have to really work hard to achieve greatness. But a wise man ones said that "Ease is a greater threat to progress than Hardship". If you fall down two times, get up the third time and if you fall again, get up the fourth time. Keep moving till you get there. One question you should ask yourself is where do you want to be in the next 5 to10 years? Do you think you can achieve your dreams in Nigeria? if your answer is yes, my brother your a free to move on but if the answer is no, you have to try again. If you have a BSC and good work experience please avoid PGD/PGC, it's a red flag. Try get a masters admission Wish you the very best. This is for everyone that have been denial TRV, it will surely end in praise. Regards 13 Likes 2 Shares |

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Newman1010: 6:29pm On Jul 27, 2018 |
kylexy61: @kylexy61, i think you did justice to this. Another point to add is that, we all don't know how these guys work. For instance, on a scale of ten (10), Medical can be on number 8. So you send a mail to a VO, to jump nos 1-7, just to update your medical which is on number 8? I think we all need to be patient. There is a processing time, wait. If nothing happens, you are free to send a mail. My profile was not updated until the 8th week (the processing time as at then), although i applied when it was 6 weeks. We all need to be calm and focus on other things. What i see these days are applicants that will apply and get a notification, they won't take time to read and understand the message, the next thing is "please i got this message ---------, can anyone interpret". You applied Jun 24th and you are desperate for approval/ update, can't you see that the recent approvals are for people that applied in May? Except you want the kind of responses some June applicants have gotten which is a refusal, Just keep calm and pray that the outcome of your application is positive. Everyone will get a response before the end of August and i pray we all get a positive one. Oya go back to work and get busy. Success to all 13 Likes |

sogima: The correspondent letter is meant to be sent immediately the embassy receives your passport for stamping. Immediately you get a notification that your application has been approved after you’ve submitted your passport, the correspondence letter is expected to come with the notification. You should get it before you receive your stamped passport. However, it is not always like that. I sent a mail to cic and within 24 hrs I got my letter. Send them a mail if you don’t have it. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello house, please I need clarifications. If someone graduates from the Open University, does the degree qualify for Wes evaluation for immigration? A friend wants to enroll for a program to boost express entry point. Please help. Thanks |

Getmo: Check the message section on your profile if you applied online, you will see a CORRESPONDENCE LETTER. If you don’t have it, kindly send them a mail. You will need it at the airport when you enter Canada. If you applied via paper route, the letter will come with your passport. So check. Congrats, See you in Halifax 1 Like |

Radiantblessing: @Radiantblessing, an account that has less than 300k is not good enough for Visa processing in my own opinion, if you are sponsoring yourself. However if you have a sponsor or scholarship, then it can be used. The question you need to answer is can 300k fund your travel talk less of pay your tuition, accommodation, textbooks and feeding expenses? What kind of investments do you have (treasury bills/ Mutual funds / fixed deposit)? Can this investment be easily converted to cash? What other documents do you intend to present? Your financial strength has to be very clear and easily seen from the documents you will be presenting else insufficient funds will come up. If your available funds and source of fund cannot be easily determined from documents presented, then I will suggest you take out time before applying to put your finances in good shape. I wish you the very best 1 Like |
