By Allaah, this is not a part of Islaam.

The Prophet ( solaLLaahu alayhi wa salaam) was sent with the complete religion. His companions were the most righteous of generations and never in the history of the three rightly guided generation was such an action reported.


The motive behind it might be good, but in Islaam actions are divided into two

1. Ibaadah (religious actions) - These are actions which have to do with the Deen. They revolve around what Allaah says, what HIS prophet said or did and all injuction if the Deen.

2. Mu'amalaat (mundane or everyday action) - These are your normal day to day activities which aren't directly related to the Deen.



Since the topic of interest is on Hijab which is a commandment from Allaah, it would be classified under Ibaadah. Now for Ibaadah to be accepted it has to fulfill two condions;

1. Ikhlaas An-Niyaah (sincerity of intention) - An act of worship is only accepted when it is done sincerely for the sake of Allaah. Anything short of that would result in wasted efforts.

The Hijab day campaign may pass this test depending on the individuals involved.

2. Mutaba'a ( In line with the Sunnah of the Prophet "solaLLaahu alayhi wa salaam" ) -

Mutaba'a can be literally translated as 'following' or 'in-line with'; hence in this context it is refering to an act being in-line with the traditions of Allaah's messenger.

The tradition of Allaah's messenger are gotten from what He ( solaLLaahu alayhi wa salaam) did, approved of, what was done in his presence and he didn't speak against.


The Hijab day campaign fails this test because there is no record of it or something similar to it anywhere in the history of Islaam.


If you say it wasn't needed then, we say to you that it was even more needed then as the Muslims were just learning about the religion. If you say it is to show the beauty of Islaam and Hijab to faithfuls other religions, we say to you that it was more needed during the time of the Prophet because the Muslims were in the minority and information on the religion was not readily available to non-Muslims. If you say what is bad in it, we say to you that all innovations started of as 'seemingly' good things; these innovations later degenerate to despicable acts such as Kufr and Shirk. The story of Nabiy Nooh is an example.


However the religion is complete and nothing would be added to it except that which shouldnt be part of it. Allaah has perfected this religion and has made Scholars present on the earth and granted them the knowledge to clarify an issue we might have.


Nevertheless, we see some 'speakers' parading themselves as authorities saying there is nothing wrong in the campaign. We know such people, they only seek to win the attention of the masses. Those who aren't of such motives are simply ignorant of the tenets of Islaam; we say to them, go back and learn at the feet of the Scholars with humility. For in their tutelage lies knowledge, wisdom and success.
