It's painful how you are really deleting this posts. So bad for the people using it to perpetrate evil, so sad. To think I was going through this thread yesterday only for me to login and now it's deleted. It's so sad.

I hope you have been good TheUndercover, I went through your profile yesterday and I was wondering if you were dead or have started a new adventure like you clearly stated. I wish you all the best. But this posts wey you dey delete dey pain me gan.

In a normal life, you cannot separate fire and smoke. Fire produces smoke. So also smoke produces fire.

Same way, you cannot separate electric current from magnetic field. Whenever there is flow of electric current on a conductor (Inductor), magnetic field is produced.
Also, whenever there is changing magnetic field, an electric current is produced.
Any confusion at this point?

No confusion

Thanks for the compliment. I said it before that young graduates and students will not appreciate this golden opportunity. Its only those working in industries that knows the value.
This is my own contribution to national development

What do you know about an inductor. What happens when
a. ac current
b. DC current
Passes through it

An inductor is an electronic components that temporarily store energy in a magnetic field when a current passes through it.

In a dc circuit, an inductor acts like a short circuit when the current is constant.

In an ac circuit, an inductor acts like a resistor that depends on the frequency of the ac source.

Well done boss,

Thank you for this mentorship class, I hope students and young grad will take advantage of this class seriously because, what he is trying to dish out to you free of charge here, somebody spent #800,000 to 1 million to get this from an institute.

I am an electrical engineer by the way and I know what it's like to be a resource person in a department.

Hopefully, I would be able to contribute to this as the class progress.

Kudos to Oga "ytdivine"

We will be anticipating your contribution.

In the above example, we dealt with water flow, let's consider signal flow in a circuit.
Do you know that motion in a television is a multiple of images(continuous image flow). What happen when the motion is fluctuating? Do you know the source of our power supply (NEPA) fluctuates like the water flow from the pump. If this happens, you find out that the images from your TV set keep dancing and in S-Shape form. This is a practical illustration which you may have noticed.
Television is used here for example, this is the case for all the electronics.

Capacitor is a storage tank ( buffer) that stores electric charges(water) in an electric field(water pool/swimming pool)

The following should be noted
a. Charging and discharching (filling and offloading tank)
b. Energy storage (water storage)
c. Source of electric field ( water pool).

So when an electric signal passes through a capacitor, it absorbs the signal until its full and now acts like a new supply source providing a better signal flow(filtered signal). Capacitor is a mini battery in a circuit.

I hope I have not confuse anybody

Wow. I love this explanation and the way you are relating it to real life scenarios. Very understandable.

Moving forward, let's explain what happened in this water supply scenario
In the case of pumping water direct to the tank without a buffer tank, note the following
1. Fluctuations in the water supply due to pump operation is transmitted to each flat ( No constant flow)
2. There is no pool of water created
3. Water distribution is not uniform
4. The moment the pump stops, the flow stops
Looking at the second scenario, the following is obtainable
1. Because there is overhead reserve, there is no fluctuations in the water flow
2. A big pool of water is created
3. The distribution is uniform
4. Continuous water flow even when the pump stops until the whole stored water is discharged.

Please any objections to these assertions?

Let's take a step further, these signals are used in control functions. Very soon, we shall look at control.
Electrical or electronics systems are built or designed to allow various electrical signals to pass through them. In electronics, there are small small components that makes up the electronics units. Each components behaves differently when these signals pass through them.
Let's take this illustration.
Consider three men
Mr A
Mr B
Mr C
Let's simulate them with a slap (Signal)
You will find out that each of them react differently.
Reactions
Mr A : May God bless you
Mr B: a doubled returned slap
Mr C: collapsed
You can see from this illustration that the responses are different even though there were all subjected to the same input signal ( slap)
In engineering, we call it transfer function.
This is another foundation, if we get this point very clear, we will not have problem understanding relay logic which will eventually transform to Ladder Logic.
We shall consider two energy storing electronics components and see how they respond to electrical signal
a. Capacitor
b. Inductor

Interesting

Why should we create a telegram link when we have this platform. Is it really necessary?

Why should I learn automation or become an automation expert? What's the financial reward?

Now, let's look at a very rich man that's under the control of one young lady. However the lady got the man mumu button is not our business, the only point here is that the man is under the woman's control. This woman in quote can manipulate the man to do anything for her.
Same is applicable to an automation engineer. The entire company is at the mercy of this man. It takes integrity and fear of God not to suck the organization dry.
Let me give you a practical example. About 8 years ago, there was a technical problem that almost shut down the company's operations. I did my troubleshooting and discovered the problem. Now, for you to get to this level am talking about, the company must have establish trust and confidence on you base on your past records.
Having discovered the problem, I was summoned by the management. The question they put across was, " what assistance do you need to resolve the problem ?". I informed them of the need to travel to Lagos and search for a particular spare. The next question was " how much do you need ?" The requested amount was provided immediately and they booked flight for the journey.
The gains are enormous. I hardly touch my salary but the job is only for a determined mind. You have many hard nuts to crack to understand and know it.
By the grace of God, we shall crack those nuts together.
Once I get reasonable number of interested persons, we start cracking the nuts

Am very much encouraged by the response so far. Before now, I was wondering the type of young people we have in this country. People that could not recognize a rare opportunity. I suffered a lot of insult, embarrassment, intimidation and all sort of humiliation from white people before I could garner the knowledge am about dishing out. I can't work in a company again not because I don't have the energy but because I choose to retire and face my own business. Now I wake up from bed any time I like, get to my office at my own time unlike before even in my dream I kept on solving problems.

At a time in my place of work, the management decided to employ more hands to assist me because of huge work load on me but could not find anyone. The only person that was promising hardly get chance except on Sunday, the interview was fixed on Sunday, yet the man could not attend. I was left alone. There came a vacancy for production manager, I applied for the post, came out the winner but the management refused to allow me out of the engineering job but rather promoted me to Automation manager.

But do you know one thing, in all the foreign trainings I got, I was trained by small small boys in their 20's. What can you make out of this? I want to make a change base on this. Please where are our young boys? What are you waiting for before you join this moving train.

We are with you and following up.

Good morning

This might be a little bit helpful.
Consider these approach:

1. Relevance: Connect the material to real-life situations, as adults often prefer practical applications.

2. Respect their experience: Acknowledge their existing knowledge and experiences, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

3. Self-directed learning: Allow adults to set goals and take ownership of their learning journey.

4. Active learning: Incorporate discussions, group activities, and hands-on experiences to engage participants actively.

5. Flexibility: Offer diverse learning methods to accommodate different learning styles and preferences.

6. Immediate feedback: Provide timely feedback to reinforce learning and address any misconceptions.

7. Encourage questions: Create a safe space for questions and open dialogue, promoting deeper understanding.

8. Use multimedia: Utilize visual aids, videos, and interactive content to enhance retention.

9. Time management: Respect their time commitments by offering flexible scheduling options and efficient sessions.

10. Relate to prior knowledge: Relate new concepts to their existing knowledge base to facilitate understanding.

Try these approach and thank me later.

Thank you for the tips.

Good morning everyone.
So has the topic clearly states, how do I go about teaching an adult? The person wants to know how to read and spell. I also need a kind of curriculum or roadmap I can use to achieve the goal.

Experienced Educationist and those that have experienced in teaching adults, your inputs will be greatly considered. Thank you.

1. Limit the liquid you drink at night.

2. Pee immediately before you sleep.

3. Set alarm for around 2.30 am to force yourself to get up to pee.

4. Hope you are not viewing erotica, it might be adding to the pressure to pee.

5. Mentally tell yourself, it stops now, a few accidents might happen but stick to the process. Like Rome, you might not achieve your objective in a day but you should eventually, Godwilling.

P.S: Prayers are also always helpful.

Mr Op sir, please follow this instructions especially 1 to 4 most especially number 1 and 2. If you insist that you must drink water late into the night then you stay awake late and then pee before sleeping.

Nothing spiritual is happening to you don't let anyone use spiritual stuff to bamboozle you.

Please what are the chances of someone graduating with a first-class or second class upper that is currently on 2.37 CGPA and in the second year for a five year course?

Is it still possible, if not should the person resit for UTME?
