That's an interesting mindset you don't see that often. It's a good thing in the long run, you will always find more roles should you, qant to move to something else.

Good afternoon boss, happy weekend. I have little issues with my VSCode and it is that it refuses to install extentions and I don't know why. I tried installing pylance and some other extensions but it kept showing installing for more than 45mins. Please what do I do?

i buy regularly with My Atm card. Which card are you using? Also make sure your card number is correct.

If you're trying to buy via mobile and it's not working, login via web and try it

I am using Fidelity verve card and I am also using the web cause I don't have a smart phone.

For me I'll advice you to read mdn documentation. If your do you'd become a god in frontend. They invented the web so no one has a better documentation than them... Be guided don't get lost while using mdn

This is what I currently using tho, and I must confess they are good maybe I will continue using it. I believe when I am done I should be very proficient in using CSS

Good morning boss. Please I try to buy the CSS course today but it seems Udemy has limited range of card number it can accept and the Security (card number at the back)option is accepting 4 numbers instead of 3. Please what do I do?

This is a stupid assumption you are making Mr. What works for A may or may mot work for B. Also learn to pass your message without insulting and generalizing. Your posts depicts that you are someone who is so full of himself and thinks whatever you say is the right and final say.

I learnt the Python programming language with just reading two books(Crash-course in python and Al-automate the boring stuff) and only use videos to go in depth in what I was learning and am also using documentations(not video)to learn Javascript.

To those just starting anything that works for you is fine..

@Op I know that urge of wanting to learn everything fast and start making money, But you need to know that it might take more time than you have envisioned. I'm saying this so you don't end up frustrated after scratching the surface of different programming languages and tooling and you still can't get a good job. Unlike the first guy on this thread said, Money is a good motivation but if you focus too much on money, you might get tired when it is not coming as fast as you think it will. Take your time and learn, don't over-rush ( jack of all trade master of none ). By over-rush. It doesn't really work that way. Your roadmap is fine ( if you are not planning to learn everything in a year). You can also check this out https://github.com/kamranahmedse/developer-roadmap

OP follow this advice.

Yeah but she's an American citizen. I know that hardwork matters but the environment you are in and the passport you carry influences so much for your life. That's why a lot of people are trying to escape Africa. I myself have vowed severally to never have a Nigerian child. It can take her Nigerian counterparts years to achieve a tenth of what she has achieved.

This is very correct. Environment matters a lot. I have been silencing the idea of japa but I think from what I am seeing lately I need to re-think.
Imagine our counterparts that learn Frontend, Data-science and the others are being paid to learn in the US, Canada and what have you, that alone will give them ginger to learn more unlike here in Nigeria, you go suffer buy laptop, pray for data money, sometimes no food and different obstacles like that. Omo I go japa make I finish with good grade from school sha while still honing my skills.

Your network is poor.

Help me tell am o. Na bad network dey make that web terminal dey delay even if you SSH into termux or ubuntu. Just have good network and you enjoy it whether you SSH or not.

The fact is you need termux on your phone. Have you tried accessing the web terminal from your phone at all. No need for unnecessary argument, my advice to new cohorts is install termux on your phone you will need it. Experience they say is the best teacher.

Termux or not. I only stated what happens to the web terminal if you have a strong or bad network which I concluded from what I observed. I no dey help you argue anything or drag land with you. Na you know who vex you, go settle scores with person.

The web term terminal is slow, unresponsive, and frustrating sooner or later you will get to clone your sandbox to either termux on your phone or wsl on your windows PC in order for you to do your tasks. I'm talking from experience. I recommend new cohorts to install termux and familiarise themselves with the shell, vim, and emacs even before the program starts. This will give you a good head start when the program commences.

The web terminal will only respond on how well your network is strong. The web terminal will be slow and unresponsive if you have a slow or bad network, have good and strong network and you will enjoy the web terminal.

Congratulations to me.

I've been accepted into the Alx 12 months software engineering program and I'm to start on the 19 September, 2022. What are the necessary things I must put in place to prepare me for the On boarding. Meanwhile, I have two laptops, constant solar light. What else do I need? Thanks

You need a BURNING DESIRE to continue when you feel like giving up.

Currently doing their VA training, I don't know if I should just further my knowledge in front end web design I did small training on it or I should do this alx software engineering they're very good in what they do

Apply for ALX and earmark time for your front end web design. Time management and proper planning is all you need.

I've got some questions geared towards the logistical side of things that I think a bunch of us could benefit from knowing about.

Please, if you've got experience dealing with these areas, help us out by answering.

If you've got a job working for a company overseas, how do you receive payments? Do you have a dollar account at a bank, or do you use third part services like PayPal?

How do you deal with taxes? Do you have to pay abroad, and then in Nigeria, or just in Nigeria (if you pay taxes at all, lol)

What sort of identification do they require you provide? NIN? Passport? Do they even require you to prove that you are who you say you are, or is a virtual face to face interview enough?

It's practically impossible for companies to do a proper background check on us, so do they even try?

Does anybody here work, or knows someone that works, at any of the big tech companies (Microsoft, Google, Netflix, Apple, Amazon, etc) remotely from Nigeria? I'm not talking about their branches here in the country, I mean for the actual companies abroad.

Stuff like that.

Good questions. I have been wondering same also.

I'd love to learn coding too Boss

Why do you want to learn to code?
You must have a definiteness of purpose.
