Wonderful observation by my Amazon Lady. So, u sabi all ds things & yet dey do bizness like my mama? Abeg joor, it's time to step up ur game. How far? You know who nah............LOL!
egopersonified: scam or no scam, when you see so many people running to a particular investment, collect your cash and exit that investment, it is only a matter of time before it crumbles. Example; where are all the profit and capital from bank shares almost all Nigerians bought years back?
Where is ur farm location in Ibadan? I may buy ur cassava if d price is right.
adescopy: Thanks for the prompt reply. My cassava question is that i ave a casrava farm @ ibadan that am yet to harvert, i just need advice on how and where to locate buyer that will increase my gain mergin. thanks
Kindly check my previous threads on Nairaland too ... Under the name 'slidewaxie'...always getting banned because of my naughtiness at the politics section...lol
Am seriously interested in ds. Hope u will inform us when d project becomes life? It will go a long way in reducing farm losses.
Pavore9: You are welcome. Currently involved with a project centred around preservation of farm produce....no construction, no electricity and easily set up and dismantled within minutes and easily carried around in a hand bag. Takes care of about 200kg of produce at a go....a real game changer.
Where's ur farm location? Pls let me know when u are going to be arnd so that I can plan d trip. I like d set-up of ur snailery. I want something like that.
Dexpro: Very well. It's my farm. If your willing to come, I'll love that. Though I'm in Kaduna @ the moment.
It can't be grafted because of its typr of stem........ryzome stem like ginger or tumeric.
Pavore9: For the long gestation period, that is where grafting comes in, If it can be successfully grafted then one should get the first harvest within 18 months.
I wld love to hv this seed for planting. Is it available here in Nigeria? What d local name for it?
I alSo learnt that "Ewe-Eran". Used in wrapping moi-moi or pap is d SW Nigeria is alSo very good natural sweetner. But the challenge with it is the long gestation period
Pavore9: Stevia is a natural sweetener and sugar substitute extracted from the leaves, just don't know if it is commonly grown in Nigeria as l see it here in Kenya.
@Pavore9, I have never seen this fruit/seed in Nigeria. Does it have a local name? Wld love to have & plant it though. That will be another (macadamia) seeding added to my pepino mellon & tomarilo seedling package.
Pavore9: You really need to read up on the crop. Look out for the quantity exported to the U.S, China, Hong kong, Japan, Canada etc annually. Apart from being edible also do check out its uses in the cosmetic industry.
People do import macadamia nuts and oil into Nigeria. It is even on the Nigeria customs import list.
I finally got to buy beetroot, squash & marigold seeds at shoprite ikeja. But a major worry is d near expiry dates of al d seed. Hope it will not affect germination?
autofreak1: Funny thing is Shoprite at the Ikeja mall now sells seeds from SA. I got cucumber, coriander, beetroot and squash seeds last week. I have planted the beetroot but here is a picture of the squash and coriander seeds. Also a picture of the shelf at the mall.
Pavore9: Do get it there, so we can now only focus on getting the pepino melon seedlings.
I understand that u nd to go to Lekki (which is their HQ) to see the marketing manager who is in charge of such supply for all their outlets nationwide. Pls update this thread after u do that.
Mercie123: I will really appreciate if you guys could help me with details on supplying goods to Shoprite outlets. Thanks in advance!
Pls what is ds plant called in Nigeria? Where & how can I get it 4 my organic farm?
Pls reply my mail msg
Pavore9: Lucifer has not business in this! Preventive measures were not taken. For a region that grows Capiscum (bell pepper) and should there be an infestation of nematodes in that region, a farmer who just have the Mexican Marigold plants planted in his farm will not be affected because the root of the Marigold produces a chemical that kills nematodes as they enter the soil and this plant is all over Nigeria!
My major concern abt having pepino melon on my farm is d fear of cross polination from water melon whih I already hv on d farm. I know cross polination occurs btwn normal melon (egusi) & water melon.
Pavore9: The Pepino melon farm. It takes 4-5 months to harvest.
I will sincerely appreciate it if ds cld be pulled tru. If u don't mind, I will love it if beetroot & squash seeds cld be included. I will just pay d naira equivalent to ur guy here in Nigeria.
Tnx in advance
Pavore9: I got info someone will be coming to Nairobi from Lagos next week (though not yet confirmed), that may be the best bet of you getting the pepino melon seedlings soonest. If the schedule is confirmed, then we can work out something.
I wld love to hv d pepino melon seed/seedling in Nigeria. I wld appreciate if u cld facilitate this. Am also interested in d other exotic vegies like beetroot, squash etc.
How can u be of assistance?
Pavore9: I didn't get to send the melon down because my schedule tend to not always have me around when someone is flying down to Nigeria. The seedlings are readily available though the nursery that stock them is about an hour and thirty minutes drive away from Nairobi.
Hello, Were u able to send d pepino melon as u said? Can ur relative be contacted to gv out d seeed/seedling? Am interested in planting it.
Pavore9: l would not know though it is native to South America (Chile and Peru) but is now picking up in Kenya and being told Nigeria weather is also good for it cultivation as it takes about 5 months from planting to harvest. l have a relative who l want to have it sent to in Lagos.
