Dating And Meet-up Zone › Re: Facebook Madness: How Many Friends Do You Have? by nex(m): 4:54pm On Aug 23, 2009
@tpia

that would be a group or a fan page. As for friends, I don't think anybody can have more than 5000. Facebook is a leveler. How will the software accept you as a public figure and let you add more friends than the rest of us?

Romance › Re: My Underwear by nex(m): 4:40pm On Aug 23, 2009
@Theseeker

I'm only going to tell you the truth. I'm not going to give you ideal situations.

If you can help it, never you wash your partner's underwear. NEVER!!!

Most times a man washes his wife or girlfriend's underwear, it is as a result of passing a test that has already been set. Once you pass that test, the result must be published. Once the result is published, people will judge your performance. You know the rest.

When I was in College, there was this guy who used to wash his girlfriend's clothes. I can't be sure if he washed her underwear though, but guys took it upon themselves to always make the guy feel out of place by passing some remarks even though no one could tell him to his face. I wasn't happy with what he was doing but I understood that his girlfriend was very beautiful and he was extremely ugly. However, one day the girl called me, one of my guys and another girl who was our friend and told us she was tired of the guy and he was forcing himself on her.

I remembered though that it was this same girl who wanted to get to know the guy in the first place. So what happened. I had to ask her and she confessed that the relationship started to wither away when the guy started with his feet licking.

We didn't know how to tell the guy to leave her but the next time he brought her clothes home to wash, we dissed the life out of him for a whole week and he had to leave her. Sometimes people would buy drinks for everyone on our table except him. He had money alright, but the message got to him.

Most of the things our ancestors say are abomination or can put a curse or hex on people are just things that may bring unfavourable situations.

If a girl tests you, the result must come out. Be warned. There are some rare occasions but even then, please count yourself out. Don't invoke this curse on your relationship.

@Hanoobaba

So you still have not known that Gbomo Jomo does not exist? He is no different from Sani Umaru; a fictitious character.

Gbomo Jomo is nobody, so anybody can be Gbomo Jomo. I can't explain it further than that.
Politics › Re: Should The Military Come Back? by nex(m): 2:48pm On Aug 23, 2009
Are you Nigerians just gluttons for punishment?

Have you never experienced Military Regimes before? Perhaps most of the new posters on this forum are born post-1999.

Someone was calling out a group of well meaning military men. Why don't you call on a group of well meaning Nigerians? Do you even think any well meaning military man will be hanging out with a clique that plots coups.

If a government that is meant to be installed, controlled and utilized by the people, they already surrender to say they don't have the power, they don't want to exercise their power, then what about a government that forcefully installed itself on you?

A man than can use the little force he can muster to take over control of 150 million Nigerians disrespects and looks down on Nigerians so much that he sees them as cattle. What goodwill do you expect from him?

I say it again, I don't see any military man that will take over the country today whom I can't slap out of Aso Rock. So if the military should take over, I will just go about killing as many soldiers as I can am posting their deaths on a specially created Facebook Group. If y'all join in, fine. If not
Politics › Re: Sign Up For A Revolution! by nex(m): 2:23pm On Aug 23, 2009
Let's see your manifesto first. People don't just sign up for revolutions. Let's know what plans and timetable you have for the procedure, implementation, mobilization, measures especially how you'll stabilize the entity after the revolution.

By the way, stop using other peoples website to promote your revolution. You will soon have Nairaland shut down.

Go and build your own site: www.nigerianrevolution.com

Don't get me wrong, I'm in support of a properly organized, well timed and perfectly executed revolution. I really don't know about this though and I'm not signing in for anything. For all I know, you SSS.
Politics › Re: Which Nairalander Would You Like To See As President? by nex(m): 2:13pm On Aug 23, 2009
@Naturez

You people still wonder how Yar'Adua and Goodluck came to power. When someone tells you they can't do it, THEY CAN'T DO IT!

@Becomerich

You have not mentioned in your manifesto that when you become president, the first thing you plan to do is "remove the Yoruba, Edo, Delta and Bayelsa and join them to Benin Republic". Or immediately you're elected into office, you will forget about all these crazy maps and become a sane man.
Politics › Re: Lagos “deports” 160 Northern Beggers by nex(m): 1:24pm On Aug 23, 2009
Fashola is a very hardworking governor and I see nothing wrong in him deporting non-indigenes from his state. He's only violating the same Article 13 of UN Human Rights Declaration which European countries have been violating for years and nobody complained.

What I don't understand is whether he found their state was Kaduna before he sent them to Kaduna. This kind of thing can cause war. You don't just deport people to another man's territory. That is very hostile territorial breach. Fashola really let me down if he really bunched beggars from different states together and deported them to Kaduna.

All of you, if you have nothing to do in Lagos, please go home. Just go home.

Romance › Re: My Underwear by nex(m): 11:31am On Aug 23, 2009
"ewor!" Abomination! Don't you people know that this thing can put a curse on your relationship if you're not careful? I'm being real here. Forget about superstition.

If a man should start washing his partner's underwear, there will be attitudinal change in that relationship. Secondly, if people got to find out about it, they'll start putting external pressure on the relationship and leading it towards the rock.

So when people say it can lead to a curse or bad luck, the truth is that once such a thing starts, the relationship is most likely doomed.

I will never do it except in a situation where even the Devil can justify. Imagine if my wife loses her arms or does not know how to operate the washing machine.

In other words, we're saying the same thing.
Romance › Re: Guys Can U Accept The Word 'we Can Be Just Friends' From A Lady by nex(m): 11:16am On Aug 23, 2009
I was going to say Cyril D was kinda speaking my mind in his first post, but 190 just said exactly me.

There was a time when I was younger, I knew if I saw a beautiful girl and asked her to be my friend, she'd be thinking something else so rather I'd ask her to go steady with me and she would instead suggest we be friends. So there are many of my female friends today whom I've known for about a decade, we became friends after I asked them out, but the truth is, I never wanted more than friendship with them.

Today though, I don't have time for rubbish. My friends' list is full and 70% of all my friends are girls. Beautiful ones for that matter. So there's no space for another.

If I had a friend and I asked her out only for her to tell me we should remain friends, that's a different kettle. We'll remain friends not some stranger to be selecting what role I'll assign her in my own life. Abeg if you no do, roll.
Romance › Re: New Guy Always Talks About His Ex Girlfriend by nex(m): 10:59am On Aug 23, 2009
The guy is just a story teller. He feels inadequate and the relationship is not as spicy as you thought it would be so he's using fantastic tales about his ex to compensate and to make you see him as a lover whom really he's not.

Whenever he tells all these tales, just make sure your only reply to him is "Oh Really?".

@dashkk

I don't think you can have more than 5,000 friends on Facebook.

I have about 800 friends on Facebook and most of them are my real friends I have to keep in touch with daily, people I've worked with, Mob Wars mobsters and people I met at Facebook parties.

Literature › Re: I Wanna Learn Pidgin English! by nex(m): 7:23pm On Aug 22, 2009
Okay, lemme start with the verb "be" which can be conjugated to to various forms: "am" "are" "is"  (in the first person, second person or third person singular or plural  present tense) remains as "be".

I am a man
I be man (removal of the article "a"wink

we are women
we be women

she is a thief
she be thief (removal of the article "a"wink.

You are a tailor
You be tailor.

They are police
Dem be police ( the pronoun "they is never used in pidgin English)

The verb be in the present continuous, which remains the same in English, changes form in pidgin. So am, are or is becomes "dey" (this has nothing to do with they in English). The "ing" in English is then done away with where necessary. eg:

I am going
I dey go

they are coming
dem dey come

you are learning
you dey learn

it is there (no "ing"wink
e dey there ("e" is a very important pronoun in pidgin English sometimes for the second person singular but always for non-humans.)

"Na" is another word that can be used as a universal indicative form of the verb "to be". It can be used for the present, past, future, and also both singular and plural to replace the verb "be" in the forms "it is", "it was" and it not only replaces the verb, but the pronoun which follows. eg:

It is my book
na my book

it is her house
na her house

it is mike
na mike

it was mike
na mike

it was mike who beat me
na mike beat me

it was she who killed the snake
na she kill the snake (there's no expression of the past tense using "ed" in pidgin)

it is I who will pray
na me go pray ("will" is always presented as "go" to establish future tense or indicate promise and future action. However, the word "go" which means motion still exists as "go" in pidgin English ).

Be, dey and na are very important words in basic Pidgin English grammar.

Some very basic vocabulary which you may need to converse with in Pidgin English are:

Abeg - Please
Sabi - know
chop - eat
jones - suffer
oyibo - non-African
jand - the UK (or generally abroad)

He did not ask them to speak up mentioning the case of Buhari giving the Government an ULTIMATUM.

Pray tell, what happened after Buhari had spoken up and given his ultimatum?

What did Buhari go ahead to do?

See simple diplomacy. Nigerians will not support this kind of move if the son of Yar'Adua is arrested for no good reason abroad. But when some hard core Nigerian criminals are sentenced to death for serious crimes committed, that's when the Nigerian will stand up with compassion and pride, asking Yar'Adua to do something.

Are you people seeing how to deal with other nations?

and the future of the USA is up to them too. Their country is in pretty bad shape. Rather than going all around the world pointing out splinters in other people's eyes, they should call all of us together to help them remove the log from their own eye.
