Let me answer the question about how you met and where you met....

She asked me where did I meet my fiance? I told her we met when he came to Nigeria in 2015

I said we met at supermarket while shopping.... That's when she was satisfied..

I think how you met and where you met is the same thing.

But one thing I know for sure about this K1 VIsa is that it's almost certain you'll get the visa as long as you are not lying and as long as the love is real.

Yes but at times they put person on AP unnecessarily and it can takes some months or years with no response... Many bad experiences of AP on forums... Some people their love is real ooooo but still denied.

You write a letter of request on A4 paper with your handwriting and submit it to any airtel office, it takes 1-2 weeks to get it done...

Thanks everyone for your wishes... It's is being God that made it possible... It was tough.... The interview was not awesome, I failed it because I was not feeling fine at a that particular time, my brain was not sharp....

The question goes thus:

She asked what did we do together? I told her I dnt understand, she said did we go out on date, I said YES..

She said what kind of date? I told her cinema

What kind of movies did we watch? I said I can't remember

She asked again when he came on October 2017, what did we do together? I mistakenly told her we did introduction in which introduction took place in December.. She looked at me with doubtful mind...
Immediately I realized she was asking me if we go out on date? I quickly change my answer and I told her we didn't go on date, he came to my house to visit my parents.

I showed her the picture of my parents and I with my fiancee....

She asked why my fiancee is not around for the introduction I told her he was bidding for contract from United Nation at that time.. I wanted to show her the pictures of the introduction, she said she don't care about the picture since he is not around.. Though my fiancee has already submitted the introduction pictures to USCIS, so I believe she has already seen it as well..

She asked how old are mine and my fiancee? I told her... She said why large age difference? What makes me to go for him? I told her I love him, she asked why did I love him? I told her he is trustworthy...
She said how can I say he is trustworthy, the person I rarely see... I said again we have things in common? She asked like what? I told her singing, dancing, cooking.. She asked what kind of dance, I said hip-hop... She said how can someone of that age be dancing hip- hop.. I told her he can shake his body with joke..

She asked in what ways do we communicate? I didn't hear her very well, I mistakenly said Twitter in which we never communicate on Twitter.

She said I dnt want Twitter because it is not confidential... What other areas do you communicate? That's when I now realized what she was saying?

I told her on phone and email...

My fiance already helped me to print out from his side from July 2018-oct2018. I showed her both, she just collected it and only looked at the front page and returned it to me. Still she was not satisfy.
She said I want to see your email communication, she asked if I have it here and I said I dnt have it here with me.

She said she want to see it, gave me 221g Form indicate email From oct2017-till date.. She returned my passport and told me to submit it to DHL...

She was not happy with my response all through.. I could see it in her face...

It took me a week to print all the emails and also include the same phone records which I have already showed her during the interview to the email and I submitted it at dhl Isolo..

Have already lost hope reading about the experience of people put on AP on Visajourney and all that that's it takes longer time...

But Lo and behold, after 3days of submitting my email, I was contacted to submit my international passport for Visa issuance...
That's how I got my joy...

I thank God I was not automatically denied because some people may be denied instantly...

Secondly, I thank God she didn't ask me to provide Twitter as more evidence of communication which I dnt have because it's a mistake that's made me to say Twitter.

I recommend you use that of NPC. This is because I was told it's that of NPC that is required when you seek adjustment of status on entering the States.

But both is fine as far as the visa interview is concerned.

I applied for K1 Visa and my interview date is next month Please I need your help on the following;

1. Birth Certificate: can one use any of the certificates from the National population commission or Local government of Birth.

2. DS-160 & Appointment confirmation: I have filled my DS-160 form and booked my appointment for K1. There was no place i was asked to use the number on DS-160 to schedule my appointment or in the profile section. please, I need to be clarified on this.

Your number one question, you can use either of the two birth certificates.

Second question, in my own profile, the ds-160 confirmation code was not required.. I think if you have never apply for visa of any category, it will not ask you. Dnt bother yourself about that.

Guys, I was approved!!!

I'm so grateful to God for his mercies and blessings. The interview in itself was very brief. None of my documents or pictures was checked during the interview proper. Was just asked questions on dates. Questions like.....when did we started talking, when did we see each other in person, when did I propose. It was a smooth sail compared to the way others were grilled.

There were over 40 of us, but only 2 (that I'm aware of) were outrightly denied. Several were placed on administrative processing (visa wasn't denied though). They were given back their passport and requested to provide additional information before their visa can be issued. However many were approved at the spot and their passport retained for visa stamping.

Even though my interview time was short, I was there from 5am till 12noon. This is despite the fact that my appointment time read 6am . The reason for this was because they gave priority to family members with little kids and elderly so they gave them numbers before me even though I came before them. Also another reason for the delay was because only 2 consular officers were interviewing us. Before each interview, the consular officer will go through the file thoroughly before he or she calls the applicant. It was a tiring wait but a fruitful one and I bless God for everything.

My advice to those going for the interview, just be yourself. You have nothing to fear as long as your relationship is genuine. Your fiance/petitioner, who is an American citizen, has every right to love and get married to anyone of his or her choice, whether a fellow citizen or an alien.

So relax, your fiancee chose you, so you will get the visa. Just get all your documents and commit everything to God.

Congratulations dear... Am happy for you.... You deserve what you got, you are a good man...

It means you will have to write the letter with both your name and your fiancee. Then you sign your part and mail it (via DHL or FedEx or USP or any other reputable international mail delivery company) to your fiance to sign his part before he mails it to USCIS.

They are against electronic signature and are also against you signing and scanning to them. It has to be signed with a pen and mailed to them.

But my own was scanned and it was accepted.

The basic documents are: Appointment Confirmation Print Out, DS-160 Confirmation Page, GTBank Receipt, International Passport, Two Passport Photograph, Birth Certificate, Police Certificate, Medical Certificate, Affidavit of Support (Fiance), Bank Statement (Fiance), Tax Return (Fiance), Pay Slips (Fiance) and Employment Letter (Fiance). Any other documents are for you to support your case. Remember that photos of you and your fiancee should be with you incase the consular officer requests to see them. Photos of you guys and your son may be needed as well.

Concerning your second question, I advise you go to a good photographer.

The USCIS don't grant visa, they only approve that the application should be sent to the embassy for consideration. The Embassy has the final say on granting the Visa and not USCIS.

That been said, just relax. There's no cause to panic. Since you had submitted the introduction pictures to the USCIS guys, it means the Embassy guys will see it too. My advice is that you get documentation ready to show you guys are not yet married (get your intent to marry letter which should say you guys are still single and intend to get married after securing the K1 Visa,
also get a bacherlood or spinster certificate and affidavit, if possible) should the Consular Officer decide to probe you on this. But if the Consular Officer is silent on it, then be silent on it too. You can go with th introduction pictures but don't present it unless requested to do so. And be ready to defend it.

Some Consular Officers tend to give trouble with Introduction Ceremonies. But the fact remains that Introduction is not marriage. This is because no bride price was paid and no traditional wedding was done. So don't worry. As long as you guys love each other, you guys will overcome.

Pls tell me where to get the sisterhood certificate?

Yes, the embassy will think you guys are “too married”. But with him not present could sway things in your favor. Just pray.

If they think like that I dnt what to do tell them. Se they dnt know that in Nigeria we have engagement ceremony and Marriage ceremony. How can someone marry without spouse present?

More so, the introduction pictures is what my fiancee used to file for the petition over there. Thats part of what he use to show bona-fide relationship between us for the petition and it was approved.
Going to interview without the pictures of the introdution my fiancee used during the filing of the petition will look somehow? What do you think?

Honestly I can’t say, was it a simple or a large one? I will leave this for the others to chip in their advice.

Large one but my fiancee was not around, only his family were present. We only put his photograph beside me.


Will they still count that as Marriage with him not present?

I don't think it is advisable to show them your introduction pictures. I think that automatically qualifies as an official ceremony. And you should not be "married" in any way as at now, since you are filing for a K-1 Visa. (such pictures are better for a Spousal Visa).

Just show them your pictures together at different locations. Avoid pictures where you are also dressed in the same attire.

We dnt have pictures at different location... I only have 4 pictures with him when he came to my church before we did the introduction.

The introduction I did, he was not around, it is only his family that came... He was not present.
We only put his photograph on the chair beside me

How long have you guys been communicating before now? You need to save all those Chat Logs and FaceTime you have both done.
There some people that got their Fiancee Visa with just one visit. Some cannot visit more than 1 time due to work and school schedules. But as long as your relationship is genuine, you should be good to go.
Also, remember not to do any official ceremony when she visits, if you are going to file for the K-1 Visa.

I did absentee introduction with my fiance not around.... I have the photobook of the ceremony with me and part of the pictures were used by my fiancee to file for the k1...

Does that mean I shouldn't show them the photobook of the introduction?

Let your petitioner write to the embassy first, they will reply you as soon as possible.

Dnt be scared validity date can still be extended with reasons.

Please we received this email below from NVC since 26th Dec,2018 and have not heard from Lagos embassy since then.

1. What step should I take?
2. Do i need to wait until I register on their portal?
3. Do i need to send an email to Lagos embassy as this k1 processing expiry Feb this year (ad stated in the approval letter we received ).

Please what should I do, I need advise.

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiancé (e)’s/spouse’s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Lagos, Nigeria. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fiancé (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition.

And date of birth

And you need to write them as soon as possible if they have received your file because you need to schedule your appointment before your expiring date and appointment days don't open always on their dashboard. My own transfer from NVC only takes 1week.

Regarding the change in DS-160 form, I don't think you need to write them. However you may wish to go with both. The recent DS-160 is the one that's valid anyway.

@LegitBachelor, am a lady, am not always comfortable with formal clothes and I dnt want to wear something I will not be comfortable with it. Can I wear smart casual wear? Or what is your opinion?

My second question, I have two ds-160 confirmation barcode, there was mistake in the first one I filled, that's y I filled another one to correct the mistake. Do I need to write to the embassy or I should explain on the day of interview about it.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised even though they weren't harsh to me, the signs were there. But the nurses, doctors and other health professionals were nice.

Overall, I think it's a good place to go for medicals.
