Moments ago, Timi Dakolo raised alarm that strange men with guns were at his house.

He has now shared an update saying they are police officers sent to deliver a letter of 'invitation for questioning' to him and his wife, Busola over the rape allegations she levelled against COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo.

men of God... I really don't know why many so called men of God can't really serve God truly sha, because if its about making money, of course they will still be rich while serving God.
This man Fatoyinbo said he never raped anyone in his life even when he was still an unbeliever self, but lets take rape out of the matter first, they should ask him did he had mutual sex with the underaged lady at that particular time, yes or no, very simple, that's where he will be caught.

If you could properly comprehend what I said, I never inferred that all other news will die down. What I meant was that Nigerians won't continue with the same energy they've been using on the rape matter because BBN will distract them
I get your point better now, but you're just the one seeing it that way, not many are following the BBNaija, some are only aware of it or hearing about it, a lot are not interested just because some of us are talking about it.

Religion / Re: Bishop Abioye: Any Man Who Doesn't Show Commitment Financially Not Safe To Marry by nextnear(m): 8:51pm On Jun 21, 2019
newsman101:
The Senior Pastor of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Abioye, has advised women against settling for men with no financial commitment.

While delivering his sermon in his church recently, the clergyman stressed the importance of finances in a relationship. Speaking specifically to single women, the clergyman said

''Any man who doesn't show commitment financially is not safe for you to marry''.

According to him, any woman who settles for a man with no financial commitment will end up being the one paying for the house rent, school fees and other very important things, once they get married.

Watch a video of him speaking below>>>

https://lailasnews.com/any-man-who-doesnt-show-commitment-financially-is-not-safe-for-you-to-marry-bishop-abioye-advises-women-video/

later now the women will be asking and fighting for equal rights with men, they will even be saying Ladies first every now and then especially when it comes to receiving good things and money, they forget that it was man first, all Ladies should submit 100% to their men even before marriage if they hope to enjoy all the financial benefits.
So I will actually say I agree with the Bishop's message and idea on this condition, Man is the head and whatever we say is final even though we will need opinions and advice from the women, so they must submit for us to show financial commitment.

if OBJ's failure to attend the democracy day was as a result of the fact that buhari is riding on a stolen mandate then he (OBJ) really needs to have his head examined

no election in this country has ever been free and fair. the late yaradua openly accepted that the election that brought him to power was flawed. in fact, OBJ was a genius in rigging. he and iwu successfully rigged himself into power. OBJ is one of the problems of this country, he always want things to be done his way

NB: am not a supporter of APC neither do i support buhari, but i say things the way they are without being biased or unduly sentimental
dem no attend, dem no attend, period! And stop saying you are not APC supporter so that people can reason with you on a neutral ground, you are both APC supporter and sympathizer, so stop the drama, some of us are not fools like you that is walking blind because of what you wanna eat, Buhari has lost it and am sure he is not comfortable.

Politics / Re: INEC Retrieves, Re-issues Over 70 Certificates Of Return by nextnear(m): 9:49pm On Jun 19, 2019
bellachibaby:
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday said it had withdrawn and re-issued over 70 certificates of return after the 2019 general elections.

Okoye said that one of the biggest challenges facing the commission is the large number of pre-election matters that are still pending in various courts of law.

“As at today, the commission has a total of 809 pre-election matters while we have just 800 post-election matters, so the implication is that we have more pre-election matters than post-election.

“As at yesterday, the commission has withdrawn and reissued over 70 certificates of return that were previously issued to those who were elected into the various states and national assembly positions.

“There are more that we are still withdrawing and more that we are still re-issuing, some of these things arose from the not too transparent party primary elections that were conducted by the various political parties.

“It is really a source of concern that up till today, there are still a number of cases arising from pre-election matters in courts,’’he said.

Okoye said that one of the things the commission is looking at is whether the fourth alteration to the Constitution of Nigeria would properly address the issue of pre-election matters.

He said this is because the fourth alteration, gave the court of first instance a total of 180 days within which to determine cases and issues arising from pre-election matters.

“But 180 days from the period of the conduct of party primary elections and the end of substitution period dovetailed into the conduct of elections and even beyond.

“This more or less distorts what the commission’s activities and also puts it on edge in terms of knowing which political parties would be on the ballot and which would not,” he said.

He said that the number of political associations waiting to be registered are more than the existing ones adding that if they are registered Nigeria would have over 200 parties in 2023 elections.

“So I think we need to have a national conversation to see whether we really need the number of political parties in existence in the country or not,’’Okoye said

He called for the necessary reforms to be put in place.

The European Union Ambassador, Mr Ketil Karlsen said that the union made recommendations from its election observations not to castigate Nigeria but to instigate reforms to strengthen the electoral process.

Karlsen said that four years is not a long time to begin electoral reforms and urged the nation to consider a wider form of reform to enhance inclusiveness, especially of women.

Mr Idris Wase, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, reiterated the 9th assembly’s commitment to carrying out electoral reforms to strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.

“We will partner together with all stakeholders for the purpose of improving our laws, we will begin now and not wait till the end of our tenure to start it,’’ Wase said.

Travel / Re: UK Warns Against Travel To 21 States by nextnear(m): 8:28am On Jun 19, 2019
Omooba77:
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom has warned British nationals against travelling to about 21 states in Nigeria over security concerns.

The travel warning posted on its website and updated on Monday, stemmed from the worsening security situation occasioned by the Boko Haram terrorists attacks in the North East, armed banditry in the North-West and militancy in the South-South.

Specifically, the FCO advised against all travels to Borno; Yobe; Adamawa; Gombe; and the riverine areas of Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.

The British government also cautioned against trips to within 20km of the border with Niger and Zamfara states.

The FCO further advised against all but essential travel to Bauchi, Zamfara, Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, Kogi and within 20km of the border with Niger in Sokoto and Kebbi states including the non-riverine areas of Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers and Abia States.

The advisory admonished British nationals to avoid crowds including political meetings, religious gatherings and places of worship, markets, shopping malls, hotels, bars, restaurants, transport hubs and camps for displaced persons.

“Attacks could be indiscriminate and could affect western interests as well as places visited by tourists. Besides Abuja, other major towns and cities remain particularly at risk, including Kano and Kaduna,” it stated.

The FCO noted that there was a high threat of kidnap throughout the country, adding that abductions could be motivated by criminality or terrorism, and could be carried out for financial or political gain.

It stated, “The security environment in the northeast has deteriorated since 2018 and there is a heightened risk of kidnap.

“There is also a high threat of criminal kidnap in the Niger Delta region and Kogi State. If you travel to areas to which the FCO advise against travel, you are particularly at risk and will need a high level of security.”
