schoolboij: In British Cameroons the major question was whether to remain with the colony Nigeria or to unite with the newly independent Republic of Cameroon because Nigeria was yet to be an independent state In a UN-supervised plebiscite in February 1961, the south decided to unite with the former French Cameroun, creating the Federal Republic of Cameroon. The north voted to join the Federation of Nigeria. In other words French Cameroon gained independence to Cameroon in Jan 1960 before British Cameroon to Nigeria in Oct 1960 therefore indigenous people of British Cameroons had a right to choose if they wanted to continue as a British colony or would rather join a newly formed Cameroon because they had an agreement under a treaty called League of mandate nations. |

netpro: Here are my questions for you, (1)There was no such country as Cameroon until 1960,Atiku was born in Jada in 1946,how then can we claim Atiku was from a, country that was not on the world map when he was born, or should we just conclude that he was stateless at birth? (2)If this area was not part of Nigeria as at 1961 how come Cameroonians are now voting to join Nigeria if yes what would be the reason for a country to vote to join another country entirely, does it make any sense to u? (3)What is your definition of born in Nigeria,Atiku grandfather is said to be from Sokoto and he was born in Jada before the existence of Cameroon? (4)If Atiku was not born in Nigeria kindly highlight the, name of the country he was born? 6 Likes 1 Share |

schoolboij: Premium times is wrong and u can take that to the bank, prior to 1914 Jada was southern Nigerian protectorate,by 1916 during the 1st World War British Forces waged war against against the German colony of Kamerun and took over thus all of Kamerun became a British colony under Nigeria, in 1922 the French and British decided to to split their colonies French Cameroun and British Cameroons,British Cameroons was also a British colony under Nigeria. In 1960 Jan French Cameroon gained independence while the colony of Nigeria and British Cameroons was to gain Independence in Oct, what would then happen to British Cameroons, therefore they decided to allow indigenous people of British Cameroons who would rather prefer allegiance to the new country Cameroon than be under the British Nigeria colony to vote in the spirit of fairness and equity. So to answer your question Jada was never a territory or colony of present day Cameroon and has been a Nigerian territory as at Oct 1 1960. I hope I have made myself clear? |

schoolboij: Sigh.... what manner of Lil jackrabbits do we have on NL lately that can comprehend elementary sentences. Let me help your ministry, Jada was 100% Nigerian soil as at Independence because British Cameroons was a mandate of British colony of Nigeria who just gained independence from Britain,i hope this is easy peasey for u to comprehend. |

NgeneUkwenu: At this rate you will also have a hard time to prove to us how Jada became Cameroon, was it ever a French colony, or perhaps was it ever a Cameroonian colony or territory because the last time I checked there was no such country called Cameroon when Atiku was born. |

Toks2008: Unfortunately you don't have any ability what so ever than to take whatever your paymasters say as the gospel truth since u have decided to be clowns and useful idiots. Jada was never a part of Cameroon,Jada was formally a British Cameroons mandate under the colony of Nigeria,it has never been or ever will be Cameroonian territory so as its people,it had always been an, undisputed Nigerian territory and it's visible to the bling and audible to the deaf. It is totally beyond me that a political party is making a futile attempt to rewrite the history on Nigeria while dunderheads like u act as cheerleaders. |

vacanci: With all due respect you and your colleagues have no business having a job for now as your are obviously incompetent to hold any responsible position in life yet as u obviously need to go back to your books because u guys still have a long way to go. Jada was a British Cameroons mandate which falls under the colony and protectorate of Nigeria,no part of British Cameroons has ever been French and no part of French Cameroun has ever been British, subsequently Jada is and has always been Nigerian territory and there has never been any controversy about it ever between Nigeria and Cameron since 1922 when the British Cameroons was mandated, your paymasters have decided to make as illogical controversy and u took it as the gospel truth since y'all have decided to be useful idiots anyway. Unfortunately been a, protectorate in loose terms mean that the territory is been protected and under the control of the colony in this case Nigeria so its 100% Nigerian soil and I never called it British protectorate so your comparism been British citizens is illogical,is it your eyes that is paining you or your brain or both. I wish any of your dunderhead friends, could help out but perhaps u are the brightest of them. |

Politics / Re: Jada Atiku's Birth Place Was Part Of Northern Cameroon- Premium Times Fact Check by neyobills: 11:13am On Apr 15, 2019 |
buhariguy: It was firstly a German colony called Kamerun, during the world war 1 it was attacked by British forces and it was annexed by Britain as at 1916,however it was divided into 2 in 1922 called British Cameroons and French Cameroon,as at 1922 there was already the colony and protectorate of Nigeria therefore the British Cameroons was a mandate under the colony and protectorate of Nigeria and was governed from Lagos, therefore anyone born in British Cameroons is most definitely a Nigerian the same way All persons born in Hawaii on or after April 30, 1900, are native-born citizens of the United States. Hawaii was declared a U.S. state on August 21, 1959,i hope I have made myself clear in the most elementary way for simpletons like u. |

abbakacici: Oh then can we then say he was born a citizen of British Cameroons,if your answer is yes then there is no such entity as British Cameroon as it was only a British mandate which falls under the colony and protectorate of Nigeria as British Cameroons was governed from Lagos. The same way the Northern protectorate and southern protectorate formed the colony of Nigeria in 1914. It's now left to you to prove to Britain that British Cameroon was a separate colony from the colony and protectorate of Nigeria. 1 Like |

Both Atiku,Buhari and some present day Cameroonians were all born in the colony and protectorate Nigeria(1914-1954)until it was divided in 1954 into present day Nigeria and some parts of present day Cameroon and so therefore carry same status of place of birth. How come Atiku is now conveniently a Cameroonian while Buhari is a Nigerian when they were all born in the same country as there was no such entity as Cameroon until 1954. The claims make by APC is really lame in my opinion Atiku grandfather is said to hail from Sokoto There was no entity as Nigeria when he was born same with Buhari Nigeria because a full Republic in 1963 same year Adamawa became a part of Nigeria Going by their analogy Buhari is as well a citizen of the Northern Nigeria protectorate and not fit to be the president of Nigeria. 2 Likes |
