Politics / Re: Governor Emmanuel: I Am Yet To Receive One Naira From FG To Fight COVID-19 by Niaja4real(m): 7:32am On Jul 03, 2020
InoutNaija:
I'm yet to receive one Naira from FG to fight Covid-19, says Gov Emmanuel
...announces guidelines on conducting burials, weddings

Governor Udom Emmanuel has stated that Akwa Ibom State Government has not received any financial assistance from federal government in the fight against Covid-19.

The governor, who made this known during a routine media chat to update citizens on efforts of state government in tackling the Covid-19 scourge, asserted that it was important to clear the misconception that the state was being supported financially by federal government in this direction.

. Gov Udom stated.

He admonished citizens that despite all what his administration has done to keep the state safe, the primary responsibility to remain save doesn't rest with the governor, healthworkersor government, but rests onindividual adult citizen of the state.

Governor Emmanuel seized the platform to thank Akwa Ibom people, corporate organizations and development partners that have worked with the state to salvage the situation, saying " it's been a very challenging time and as I said during the last briefing that if God does not take this away as we have prayed then we must find a way to survive".

"Let me appreciate all our health workers, security agents, Christian Association of Nigeria, political and other stakeholders and all our citizens who have shown understanding and cooperation within this period. I appreciate those who obey the guidelines and even those who do not obey, but mainly people working in our case management centers, call centers and security agents who have done a fantastic job within this period".

While acknowledging the support of the media in the fight and soliciting continued understanding and support from citizens, he revealed that one of those who criticized his administration's response to Covid-19 was unfortunately stricken by the infection and the same medical facilities and system he condemned were used to treat him.

"Today, if you ask him, I'm sure he will say something different. So, be rest assured that every decision taken, every guideline by this government is to protect lives and that is the primary aim. We give out these guidelines based on advise from experts

On the conduct of funerals and weddings, the governor said that his administration has made certain reviews upon the advice from experts to accommodate these very important social events.

The governor warned that there is need for vigilance among citizens because data of global transmission of the infection shows that there may be a second upsurge of the infection. He pleaded that government does not want anyone to be exposed to the virus, urging " if you must go out wear a mask. If you don't feel like wearing the mask please stay at home. A lot of people are asymptomatic and keep infecting other people without knowing.

He announced that government is planning on setting up support facilities at isolation centers to carter for testing blood sugar, blood pressure and other co-morbidities that would make management of Covid-19 complicated.

On the increase in number of infected cases, he explained that this is as a result of his appeal during the last media chat that any indigene of Akwa Ibom anywhere in the world that is infected should find his/her way back home for testing and proper treatment.

He disclosed that Akwa Ibom people from other states are coming in for treatment, saying the state will treat them because they are citizens but they shouldn't lie about where they are coming from since this information will be useful during contact tracing.

Foolish man@Udom
I wish Federal Government will refuse to give this mofo a dime to loot.
The same Udom that eat our law school allowance in 2017, even when none oil producing State were paying their students in law schools.
Now the person that doesn't like paying others what's due to them, is now running his mouth about Federal Government not paying him money.

Covid-19: We May Be Counting Bodies in Hundreds in Next 3 Weeks, Says SGF

Davidson Iriekpen, Martins Ifijeh in Lagos and Ernest Chinwo in Port Harcourt

Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman, Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, Mr. Boss Mustapha has warned that the country might start to count bodies in their hundreds in the next three weeks following the spread of coronavirus in the country.

This is just as NCDC announced it had recorded 661 new cases, raising tally to 19,808, discharges 6,718, deaths 506. As usual, Lagos recorded the highest number of 230, followed by Rivers-127, Delta-83, FCT-60, Oyo-51, Edo-31, Bayelsa-27, Kaduna-25, Plateau-13, Ondo-6, Nasarawa-3, Ekiti-2, Kano-2, Borno-1.

Mustapha, who argued that the reason the numbers have continued to climb up lately was because the country has increased its testing capacity, however, noted that Nigeria was yet to even enter into the second wave of the pandemic, which according to him might be inevitable.

The SGF, who is disturbed about the attitudes of some Nigerians to the virus despite its rate of spread, noted that by the time the death tolls start coming in, the nation might enter into a serious panic mode, because the casualties would reflect the figures and the testing rate.

“There’ll be pandemonium and we might get into a panic mode. Sadly, we are still in the first wave and the figures will not abate, because the attitudes of a majority of the people do not suggest that we want the figures to abate,” Mustapha explained, urging Nigerians to support the government in the fight against Covid-19 by adhering to the safety protocols.

Politics / Re: Ehanire: Buhari’s Government The Most Sincere Nigeria Has Ever Had by Niaja4real(m): 3:57pm On Jun 19, 2020
boman2014:

Osagie Ehanire, minister of health, says the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is the most sincere and serious government the country has ever had.

Speaking during a programme on Channels Television on Friday, the minister said the president will fulfill his promises to the health workers on strike.

He asked resident doctors in the country to end their strike because the government is sympathetic to their plight.

“We have made it clear to them that this government is the most sincere and serious government this country has ever had. His word is his bond,” Ehanire said.

“This government has a record of being sympathetic to people, of meeting its obligations and keeping to its promises.

“This government does things differently.

This is a government that says its word and keeps to its words. We would not do anything to hurt you. We work in your interest.

“We are going through a very difficult time with other countries and this is quite clearly not the time to add more to our problems by deciding to go on strike.

“I am worried that we are probably the first and only country where doctors have decided to go on strike.”

Resident doctors embarked on a nationwide strike on Monday after the expiration of the 14-day ultimatum they issued to the federal government.

A meeting between the federal government and members of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) ended in a deadlock on Tuesday.

Ehanire had threatened that doctors absent from duty would lose their jobs and he asked for the opening of attendance registers in health institutions across the
country.

Politics / Re: Origin Of Banditry And Murderous Fulani Herdsmen- Nuhu Ribadu by Niaja4real(m): 1:30pm On Jun 19, 2020
naijaking1:
Bandits”” were created by Gen Mohammadu Buhari Rtd to oust Jonathan
Bandits are not Boko Haram nor Herdsmen

It all started in April 2014 when Mohammadu Buhari assembled his ardent supporters, promoters and strategists to determine how to remove President Jonathan Goodluck. Prominent amongst them were El-Rufai, Gen Danbazo (Rtd)……..

A decision was reached to consult Miyatti Allah cattle breeders association for assistance to boot Jonathan Goodluck out of office. Consequently, the National Chairman of Miyatti Allah was engaged to bring in foreign mercenaries. Within a month, 2,000 Fulani fighters were brought in from Mali, Senegal, Niger Republic, Chad, Libya to name but a few. Further 4,000 fighters were stationed in Niger and Chad on standby.

On arrival, they were assembled in Kaduna under the sponsorship of El Rufai and were addressed by various Northern Leaders including the Sultan of Sokoto, Gen. Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar (Rtd) etc.

Specifically, Gen Buhari in his address told the fighters that “the British handed Nigeria over to us the Fulanis at independence. The land (Nigeria) belongs to us. We must reclaim what belongs to us.”He added that at the event that Jonathan Goodluck worn the election, the Fulani machinery must fight until they regain control of the country. He assured them that the Nigerian Army was behind them.

The mercenaries received initial training from the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy and were sent to 6 camps in Ekiti State, Benue State, Katsina State, Kaduna State, Zamfara State and Borno State.

In the camps, brand new pick-up trucks, generators etc were provided them. Nigerian Airforce helicopters were used to provide them essential supplies like food, water, drinks and even arms and ammunitions.

Evidently, Jonathan Goodluck lost the election in 2015 through a well orchestrated election organised by INEC under a Fulani Chairman, Professor Jega. Gen Buhari (Rtd) was sworn in as the president. This saw the emergence of a Fulani president through a dodgy election hence the planned violent war was averted.

Contrary to expectation, the mercenaries in the various camps were abandoned, no more food and essential supplies. The relationship between Miyatti Allah, El Rufai (now a State Governor) and Dambazo broke down. El Rufai arrogantly declared that they were not needed anymore and they should go back. Consequently, the killings in Kaduna commenced as a warning to El Rufai but it did not bother him. He declared that he had paid the people carrying out the killings and they did not want to stop. The Nigerian police did not bother to call Gov El Rufai to give further clarification on this.

The Mercenary at the various camps decided to go about to find food for themselves by robbing people, going into farm lands and kidnapping. Miyatti Allah made several efforts to contact El Rufai and Dambazzo to appeal to them to provide money to return these fighters to where they came from. All efforts proved abortive. The mercenaries at this point vacated their organised camps and took to crime.

The criminal gangs which emanated from these mercenaries were at this point described as “Bandits” in order to differentiate them from other notorious terrorist groups like Fulani Herdsmen, Boko Haram etc.

Following the untold destruction and killings which the Bandits carried out especially in Katsina and Zamfara, the Northern leaders in conjunction with officials of Nigerian Government requested Miyatti Allah to intervene and remove the Bandits from Nigeria.. Miyatti Allah returned demanding 150 Billion Naira to settle the Bandits and evacuate them. The Government turned the offer down and restricted itself to the payment of 100 Billion Naira.

Shamefully Godwin Emefiele raised 100 Billion Naira for the settlement as a condition for his re-appointment as the Central bank Governor.

Miyatti Allah collected the money and purportedly distributed it but nothing changed.

In a bid to control the damage, President Buhari directed that RUGA initiative be setup to create colonies for these fighters in every state in Nigeria.

My questions are:
1. Should Nigerian communities accommodate these criminal elements?
2. Why has El Rufai not been called to clean up the mess he created?
3. Does this explain the President Buhari’s silence?
4.Is this conspiracy of the North gone wrong?
Nigerians think for yourselves?

There is no doubt that the novel corona virus disease ravaging different countries in world, in which Nigeria is not an exception is real, the death of one the prominent Nigeria politicians have proven that the disease is really in Nigeria.

The very first Nigeria politician was Chief of staff to president Mohammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari. He died of Corona virus on April 17, 2020. He contracted the virus on a trip he made to Germany early March.

The second person to die of the virus was Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District at the Upper Legislative Chamber of the National Assembly, Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo died of the novel Corona virus.

Senator Sikiru Adebayo, died in one of the Lagos isolation centers on the early hours of Monday, June 15, 2020, at the age of 64 after a protacted battle with the novel corona virus.

In the same vein, the immediate past governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, also died of the novel Corona virus.

Ajimobi died of the novel corona virus because of his health complications which was caused by his underlying health issues, normal for persons at his age.

He passed away at the First Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Consultants Hospital, Lagos, on Thursday June 18, 2020, at the age of 71.

It is therefore important that Nigerians adhere strictly to the precautionary rules of face mask wearing, regular hand washing(with water or alcohol based sanitizer) and observe social distancing order given by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control(NCDC) in other to beat corona virus in Nigeria.
