”I just lost a close girlfriend to Covid-19 in Wuye, Abuja, she passed just now.

It’s sad Covid-19 prevented me from being there when you gave up the ghost, which I’m very sure it was your last wish as you always say “Bobo come and hold me. Magana I will miss you for the rest of my life. The Hausa you thought and all the connections you gave in Abuja.

newspaperman:
PRESS RELEASE

NDDC PROBE: PLEASE DO NOT BRING ME INTO YOUR BATTLE

My attention was drawn to some mindless fabrications and falsehood against my person on a television program by Cairo Ojugboh, Ag Director of Project, in Niger Delta Development Commission.

I will expose his lies as I call on security agencies to please bring him to book for such shameless attempts to malign my person. I am glad people know him for his character, no serious minded Nigerian will take Cairo seriously, and his atrocious antecedent speaks wherever he goes.

He mentioned my name as a contractor for one Senator or fronting for the Senate. How can someone make such a hideous accusation without any iota of truth? I do not have any business relationship with anybody in the Senate and the whole National Assembly. How can I start fronting for anybody at my age and level? Is that not an insult? I am a High Chief in my Kingdom. I have been executing contracts in NDDC since 2012 and I have never been found wanting. I execute any contract I win diligently because it is for the benefit of our people who are daily deprived by these oppotunists who find themselves in positions of authority. I am a Nigerian and ably qualified to bid for contracts anywhere, including NDDC.

Cairo also mentioned a particular contract for the supply of plastic chairs. Let me put it on record that over 15 contractors were engaged for that supply. Just like other contractors, I delivered satisfactorily. All contractors were meant to lease warehouses for a certain period for the purpose of warehousing the goods with the supervision of NDDC because the commission’s Warehouse could not contain the supplies. Mine was not different, my company leased a warehouse to store those items under the supervision of NDDC officials until they were distributed by same officials. Records are there. I do not understand why he would barefacedly make these baseless allegations without studying his files to know the facts. Perhaps that is what happens when you are on a blind mission.

In the said interview, he alleged I was given 1,000 projects on behalf of some people. This is ridiculous! Since 2012 that I started bidding for jobs in NDDC, we have NOT even won up to 50 or 100 jobs. Is he not having access to files in the office? Can Nigerians please help me announce to all of them to leave me out of their battle. I do not have anything to do with any of those allegations; they are baseless and very fallacious.

I and Cairo Ojugboh met at Golden Tulips Hotel in PortHarcourt about a month ago, we laughed and parted peacefully, he did not mention any of these dubious claims because none exist in the books of NDDC.

I am particularly calling on security and anti corruption agencies to look into those false claims with the aim of bringing the purveyor of lies to book.

I repeat, I am a High Chief in my kingdom, I do not engage in any of those things he mentioned in the falsehood.

Signed

High Chief Nelson Agbamuche

Abyduel7:
Uzodimma And The Alleged Establishment Of 15 Almajiri Schools In Imo State.

By: Ambrose Nwaogwugwu

It seems like the Supreme Court Governor, Mr. Hope Uzodimma is doing everything to please his Aboki friends in Abuja who helped him in manipulating the Imo state gubernatorial case at the Supreme Court which led to his unjustifiable declaration as the imposed Governor of Imo State, but thanks to the ever resilient opposition members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State and the other larger population of Imolites who have always stoically stood against such obnoxious considerations which has always led to recantation.

The Supreme Court Governor and his hound of operators are always chicken hearted that's why they always chicken out whenever Imo people rise up in condemnation in defiance.

Recently, the news was everywhere of how the Supreme Court Governor Hope Uzodinma has allegedly approved the building of 15 schools of Almajiri in different towns of Imo State, and Imolites stood up in one voice rising against such intentions of the Uzodinma APC led regime and like it's in their trademarks - they came back in the night to debunk what was credited to them as fake news.

Let's be clear on this: the Uzodinma APC led regime has this uncanny predisposition for self denials. As in, whenever they issue out a press release and announcing a policy statement of the state government and such policy is received with condemnation - they usually do a volt face to recant and debunk same as fake.

Imo people cannot be fooled because we know what the Uzodinma APC regime in the state are capable of doing.

Yes, we have had histories of their unending self denials - where they say something in the morning and when such generates heat and controversy - they will come back in the night to deny knowledge of it.

This was what happened when they attempted to rename the IMO State University to Abba Kyari University and when the people threatened fire and brimstones - they denied knowledge of it - they recanted.

Again, when they also resolved to pay the sum of ₦8m to fulani herdersmen that destroyed farmlands in Ezinihitte Mbaise - Imo people shouted and condemned the insensitivity of the regime in paying the destroyers of the farmland while the people whose farmlands were destroyed were left with nothing - as usual, they denied knowledge of it... But it was too late to deny because the IMC chairman of Ezinihitte had earlier confirmed that indeed, Imo State Government truly paid the sum of ₦8m to Fulani Herdsmen while the farmers whose crops were destroyed were given nothing.

So their history of denials are well documented and they are public knowledge.

This is typical of the modes of operation of fraudsters, criminals and 419ers who are now in charge of the government of Imo State courtesy of Supreme Court Imposition and we don't expect anything less.

They fly a kite in the morning and when it receives a backslash, they deny knowledge of it.

It is very sad that aliens and group of fraudsters were imposed on Imo state - a group of people of questionable characters whose words or even official statements of the government can never be taken to the bank.

May God Save Imo state.

This tour was also targeted to checkmate the readiness of the contactors to adhere to the specific standards and also to deliver on the projects in record time.

Upon conclusion of the tour today, the level of work on these roads so far has been impressive & commendable. While a few have been 100 percent completed, others are receiving serious attention.

The tour was important, as the shared prosperity government of HE Hope Uzodimma is wholly committed to give roads in the state, a total facelift as promised in his inuagural address.

Politics / Re: Trouble In APC Again As Deputy Chairman, Lawal Shuaibu Blasts Oshiomole by Niaja4real(m): 4:58pm On May 21, 2020
xpmode:
The Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lawal Shuaibu has blasted the National Chairman of the Party, Adams Oshiomole.

According to Shuaibu, the current lawlessness being experienced in the Party lies on how Oshiomole emerged as the Party's Chairman.

Shuaibu expressed his displeasure in a statement titled: ‘APC and its Future, let us Exercise Caution’.

Shuaibu expressed worry that Oshiomhole might be the ''end of APC,'' adding that the party is yet to learn its lesson despite a supreme court verdict which voided its victory in Zamfara elections.

The vice-chairman said that members of the party disregarding his call for Oshiomhole to resign was an act that led the principles and the rule of law upon which the party was founded “to be subject to arbitrary administration without dictates of the law”.

Shuaibu said:

“The ruling party which ought to be a model for others in the upholding of the rule of law is now the nest of lawlessness. The entire legal framework governing the party administration in Nigeria today, the Nigerian constitution, the party constitution, the electoral act and INEC regulations and guidelines are more honoured by the party in breaches than obedience.

“Interestingly, all the issues I raised in my said letter have come to pass. Till date, the party, founded on the principles of constitutionalism and rule of law, is now subject of arbitrary administration, without regard for the dictates of the law.

“The ruling party which ought to be a model for others in the upholding of the rule of law, is now the nest of lawlessness. The entire legal framework governing the party administration in Nigeria today, the Nigerian constitution, the party constitution, the electoral act and INEC regulations and guidelines are more honoured by the party in breaches than obedience.

“To buttress my above assertion, the following few examples will drive the point home. By (Article 9.1(ii) and 9.4 (i) of the APC Constitution as amended, pages 6 and cool every member will be registered at his ward when his or her name is entered in the register by the ward executives.

“My understanding of this provision is that power in the party is exercised bottom up! What this means is that every member of the party is answerable to his constituency. Being a party member, therefore, is a constitutional issue embedded in the membership register.

“Also, the constitution of the party stipulates a mandatory meeting of the national executive committee (NEC) every three months (Article 25 B (i) of the APC constitution as amended.). This regular meeting is not only targeted at keeping the members abreast of developments but ensuring collective responsibility of decision taken by the combined effect of the above provision and Article 18 of the APC Constitution as amended).

“NEC is the main decision-making organ after the convention and shall meet every three months. The power to set up standing or ad-hoc committees of the party is vested in the same NEC.”

He further accused Oshiomole of imposing himself on the Party and appointing himself as Chairman. He questioned the legality of Oshiomole chairing screening committees and deciding who runs for governorship and senatorial elections under the platform of the party.

According to Shuaibu, Waziri Bulama who was appointed as the party’s acting National Secretary on Monday, May 18, was not democratically elected.

“It is this refusal to convene NEC to perform its role that has led the party to the comatose state it is now. My fear is, it is being repeated now for Ondo and Edo.

“The APC constitution in Article 20 (a) made it unambiguously clear, that all party posts prescribed or implied by this constitution shall be filled by democratically conducted elections at the respective convention (in the case of NWC or NEC) or congress (in the case of executive committees at state, local government or ward levels) et al,” he said.

“There is nowhere in that same constitution where it was envisaged that an officer of the party could be appointed by the chairman nor the NWC.

“Not even NEC has the power to appoint any national officer of the party in any capacity. Let me ask this simple question, what is difficult in organising a midterm convention to elect the officers in line with the constitution so that even the officers will have confidence that they are elected like all other officers.

“The constitution of the party in Article 25 (A) (1) page 89 stipulates that there shall be a convention every two years.

“We had a convention in 2018 and another one is due in 2020. What is the hurry in appointing an acting national secretary when we have the duly elected deputy national secretary who has been acting in that capacity since December 2018 in line with Article 14.4 of the constitution on page 58?”

“The acting national secretary is a nullity and liable to be challenged by the opposition. Are we deaf and blind? Or is the chairman finally out to bury the party?

“What are the leaders of the party doing in the midst of this anarchy? Are they all equally fed up with the seeming collapsing party in the hands of a politically injured person that seems to be nursing political revenge?

“The leaders need to take a stand so that the followers know whether the party is now either a jungle or that entity of our collective dream at the inception.

“Majority of the members of the party are already perplexed, disillusioned and some even weighing their options. A stitch in time, I believe, saves nine!

“Article 2 of the APC constitution, provides that subject to the provisions of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) and any other laws for the time being in force in the federal republic of Nigeria, the provisions of this constitution shall be supreme, provided that where any rule, regulation or any other enactment shall, to the extent of its inconsistency, be null and void and of no effect whatsoever. This document leaves no room for any form of aberration or brigandage."

Mr Shuaibu further stressed that transparency of the forthcoming Edo and Ondo governorship elections had already been marred by the violation of Article 20 (v) on page 76 of the APC constitution.

Politics / Re: Perm Sec Admits Buying Uncompleted Building For N7bn, Fingers Minister, Others by Niaja4real(m): 5:34pm On May 19, 2020
Lucia220:
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr Mohammed Bello, has admitted buying what the Federal Government described as an “uncompleted carcass” building for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for N7 billion.

Bello, who was responding to the query by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC have cleared him of any wrongdoing.

Yemi-Esan said she issued the query on the order of the President Muhammadu Buhari, who she said had been briefed about Bello’s conducts.

However, Bello who claimed that the purchase of the building was approved by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, claimed that he has been cleared by the anti-graft agencies.

““Kindly note that we have been invited, interrogated and cleared by the EFCC and ICPC on this particular matter after glaring facts were presented to them,” he said.

The Query

In a leaked query, obtained by The Street Journal, Bello was asked by the presidency to explain how budgetary funds in billions of naira was misappropriated while he was overseeing the affairs of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

In a preliminary letter/query issued on 11th May, 2020 and signed by Dr. Yemi-Esan, Bello was alleged to have use his position as Permanent Secretary and Accounting Officer, to involve in some shady transactions as well as holding on to budgetary allocation meant for contractors and other activities of government, among other allegations.

The allegations were said to be acts of serious misconduct as provided in PSR 030401 and 030402, which, if proven, could lead to dismissal from service.

According to the letter, in spite of the budgetary release of the N98, 405,763,678.68 in 2018 (which represents 99.44 of 2018 appropriation) to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Bello as Perm Sec did not take necessary action to pay the eligible contractors which led to the Ministry having an outstanding contractual liability in the sum of N48,429,543,895.72.

In the same manner, the letter stated that under Bello’s watch, the Ministry procured seven drilling rigs for borehole at an average cost of N300,000,000.00, without recourse to the Federal Executive Council or Head of Service of the Federation.

However, in April 2019, the embattled Permanent Secretary was said to have given out the seven rigs procured at N1.3 billion to some individuals under fraudulent arrangement, without the approval of the minister, and one of the rigs linked to him, was yet to be returned despite several written reminders as at the time the query was issued.

Bello was also alleged to have misapplied the intervention funds approved for the purchase of strategic grains and the establishment of the rural grazing areas settlements in violation of financial regulations.

The letter gave two of such misappropriations to include the use of N2,026,838,775.25 to pay contractors and execute programmes from the funds released for emergency procurement of strategic grains which was unrelated to the purpose of the funds.

Bello was also accused of using N3,527,300,419.06 for the payment of questionable contracts awarded under the 2018 appropriation, from the rural grazing area settlement scheme which was also said not to be related to the purpose of the funds.

She, therefore, gave the embattled permanent secretary a 72-hour ultimatum to respond to the allegations if he so desires.

Agric Minister approved purchase

Bello in his response dated 14th May, 2020, said that the approval for the building was granted by the Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, who he accused of conspiring with the current Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Mu'azu Abdulkadir, of alleging that the purchased office building was unfit for use.

He also claimed that due process was followed to the latter in the purchase of the said building.

He noted that the processes that were followed includes expression of interest to sell the property forwarded by the company to the Hon. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, among others.

“After submission of recommendation to the Hon. Minister of Agriculture; He approved that Council Meme be made to that effect. We then sent the Memo to the Secretary to Government of the Federation when then scheduled it for Federal Executive Council Approval. Consequently, the Federal Executive Council approved (vide Council Extract) the purchase of the building,” he noted in his response.

Bello claimed that Dr. AbdulKadir awarded and executed projects worth N3bn in his locality in complete disregard for due process.

"It is worthy of note at this point that it is the current Permanent Secretary FMARD who is actually guilty of virement as since after the approval of the above contracts has refused to sign and release letters of award of contract to the respective contractors but instead diverted and vire the funds to other projects in his locality that were never part of the appropriation, neither advertised nor bided for. This is a case of unequivocal virement.

" The project in his locality that he awarded and executed in complete disregard for due process is estimated at over N3,000,000,000,” he added.

Politics / Re: NEWSBREAKING: Osinbajo Breaks Silence On His Whereabouts by Niaja4real(m): 8:04pm On May 09, 2020
Yahksbiz:
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, on Saturday, gave an insight into his whereabouts in the past few weeks.

Osinbajo, who spoke through his spokesperson, Akande Laolu, disclosed that he has been attending to official matters on how to improve Nigeria’s economy.

Laolu, in an Instagram post shared with DAILY POST, after he was contacted on Osinbajo’s whereabouts, urged Nigerians to ignore fake claims regarding President Muhammadu Buhari and the Vice President’s whereabouts.

He recalled that the Vice President on Thursday met with the Governor of Central Bank, CBN, Kaduna State Governor, and some Ministers via video conferencing.

According to Laolu: “With my boss the Vice President last night in his office, reviewing some of the events of the week.

“By the way continue to ignore professional fake news conduits who share fictions about the whereabouts of the president and his Vice.

“The critical mass of our people see both the president and the VP regularly on TV, hear about them regularly on radio, read from them in the press and observe their activities regularly on the social media.

“For instance, on Thursday the VP held a videoconferencing meeting that included the governor of Kaduna, Power and Finance Ministers, the CBN governor and other government officials on how to expand electricity in the country.

“The work goes on, and Nigeria will surely prevail. We will do it together.”

Osinbajo’s absence from public view in the past weeks had sparked some form of conspiracy that he may have contracted COVID-19 or he’s in trouble.

However, Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, had explained that Osinbajo has been busy working with the Economic Sustainability Committee.

KopiteP:
A body of Northern and Southern organisations, Peace Accord Forum (PAF), has dismissed comments credited to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) about First Lady Aisha Buhari.
The outspoken Biafra agitator was quoted as saying: “They have been fooling their fellow Nigerians and I am certain Aisha Buhari and her gang will end up in jail.”
In its reaction Thursday night by the National Coordinator, Ambrose Omorodion, PAF mocked the pronouncement and declared that “Nnamdi Kanu is dead and buried; IPOB knows his grave.”

The coalition, in a strongly-worded statement, noted: “The delusional mind of Nnamdi Kanu’s impostor or whoever uses his social media accounts in recent days seems to be on overdrive gear. We appeal to gullible minds to seek light or remain in IPOB darkness and captivity forever.

PAF said the IPOB’s several attempts “to prove to the world that their so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is not dead have been futile, hence, the verbal attacks on anyone and everyone”.
We wish to state that baseless allegations can only come from deceptive and unsound humans, bigots and riff-raffs. The late Nnamdi Kanu was nothing but a common criminal, a proscribed terrorist, a fugitive of law and a coward. It is cheering that the majority of South-Easterners are not like him or his adherents,” the statement read.

“Individuals using Nnamdi Kanu’s name should be informed that their game is up and we urge them to join the leader in his Danse Macabre. We will no longer watch as they continue to dish out gibberish to the public via tweets, broadcasts, press statements or interviews. All forms of fabrications will now be replied accordingly.

“Indeed, we are wholly amazed that people are dropping Nnamdi Kanu’s name on a daily basis. These people have chosen the path of hatred and stupidity; their sentiments never allow them to think properly. They need fervent prayers, sacrifices to the gods or both; whichever will break their bondage is urgently needed.
Don’t they breathe properly unless someone is condemned? In the last few years, the late Nnamdi Kanu and his sympathisers have carried on as if they have the monopoly of insults and falsehood. We are happy to announce that the joy ride is over. It is fire for fire henceforth. The good people of Nigeria want a break from IPOB inanity.

“The deceased Nnamdi Kanu and his chalartans have ceaselessly attacked President Muhammadu Buhari, his family, federal and state governments. All for what? This is 2020, the era of achieving independence through constant vituperations are gone. Governments can be criticised; however, it must be based on verifiable proof, facts and figures

“First they claimed the President was dead; now, the nitwits insist he is not the one in Aso Rock. We are happy that Nigerians have since overlooked their gullibility. Nnamdi Kanu’s apologists lack basic intelligence, this has been the greatest hindrance to their ability to pause, seek knowledge and try to assimilate what they are told.

“Mrs. Aisha Buhari is contributing to humanity through donations, several acts of kindness, fighting for the wellbeing of the society particularly women and children, even before the COVID-19 crisis. This woman minds her business. Simpletons saying trash do not have to like her, they only need to seek divine intervention in order to return to their senses.

“Of course, Nigeria is not where it should be. Notwithstanding, authorities are not resting in ensuring that the lives of all citizens get better. IPOB should swallow and digest the fact that Nigeria is not a zoo. There might be some issues, same as many countries worldwide, but Africa’s biggest nation is strong, united, forging ahead and will never break.

“To this end, those who listen to the ghost of Nnamdi Kanu should give up the gimmicks; those who go to his grave before they tweet and issue press releases stop the lies. It is miserable that IPOB and their congregation have elevated ignorance to a professorial level. Since they have refused to stop moving mad, PAF will cleanse their lunacy.

“We have observed that the busy-bodies that were around Nnamdi Kanu in his lifetime got enough peanuts to keep his foolishness alive; they are probably still being funded anyway. We officially welcome them to the shouting bout they long started and would like to assure them that in this war of propaganda, IPOB will not win. PAF now fully in the battle.”

Politics / Re: Issa-Onilu: PDP Not Happy Because They Won't Share Abacha's Loot As Usual by Niaja4real(m): 6:56am On May 07, 2020
ajibola1979:
The All Progressives Congress (APC) says the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party’s is sad that $311 million Abacha loot wasn’t returned when they were in power.

According to APC, PDP is unable to stamp out corruption from its DNA, adding that until the party has the courage to burn its corruption handbook to ashes, it would be difficult for it not to hallucinate over public funds.

Lanre Issa-Onilu, APC National Publicity Secretary, said this in a statement on Wednesday,

He noted that PDP personifies corruption in deeds and preferred sharing public funds amongst the ruling class.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Federal Government on Monday confirmed the receipt of some $311million, stolen from Nigeria during the military regime of Gen. Sani Abacha and repatriated from the United States and the Bailiwick of Jersey.

“This administration similarly recovered $322 million from Switzerland in 2018, as part of monies stolen by Abacha which has been transparently and judiciously deployed in the funding of social investment programmes, including the free school feeding scheme, stipends for millions of disadvantaged citizens, and grain grants for those in severe food hardship as specified in the agreement signed with the Switzerland and the World Bank.”

APC refers the PDP to the 2020 Asset Return Agreement which requires the fund to be transferred to a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Asset Recovery designated account and which would then be paid to the National Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) designated as the project management and execution authority within the next fourteen days.

It added that the Buhari administration has committed itself that the assets will be invested in expediting the construction of major infrastructure projects across Nigeria, namely: Lagos – Ibadan Expressway; Abuja – Kaduna-Kano Expressway and the Second Niger Bridge as well as the Mambilla Power Project.

“When the PDP administration under President Olusegun Obasanjo left office on 29 May 2007, the government had recouped $2 billion, including the $825million previously retrieved by General Abdulsalami Abubakar. Switzerland and Bailiwick of Jersey also repatriated $149 million in November 2003 and £22.5 million in June 2011.”

APC lamented that successive PDP government’s strangely resisted widespread calls to periodically publish detailed information of the amounts recovered, those from whom they were recovered, sources or countries from where they were recovered.

The statement added that it is clear that the US, UK and other countries holding looted funds and assets have now found a trusted government led by President Buhari to return stolen assets and it is our collective pride as a country to regain the trust of the international community

Politics / Re: FG, States’ll Feed Schoolchildren At Home, Minister Insists by Niaja4real(m): 6:43am On May 07, 2020
Mims2016:
The Federal Government, in partnership with states, is set to start feeding schoolchildren in their home, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouq, announced on Wednesday.

On April 8, The PUNCH reported that the Federal Government had finalised plans with state governments to start feeding schoolchildren in their respective homes.

Speaking on Wednesday at the Presidential Task Force briefing on COVID-19 in Abuja, Umar-Farouq said the government had overhauled the school feeding programme in a way to ensure that schoolchildren were fed at home despite the lockdown.

She said, “We have made progress in the overhauling of the homegrown school feeding programme and sensitisation has already begun in the three frontline states of Ogun, Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory for implementation.

“The overhauling was sequel to a March 29, 2020 directive by Mr President to identify modalities and continuation of the school feeding programme during the COVID-19 pandemic in the lockdown states as of then.”

She noted that following the directives, her ministry in the collaboration with state governors worked out modalities for the implementation home feeding programme, adding that the initiative was set to commence.

“The plan has been adopted, with implementation now set to begin. The programme will therefore be carried out based on data provided and structures put in place by participating states with support from partners that include the World Food Programme.”

The minister had explained that the food would be distributed door-to-door, as vouchers would be allocated at specific collection times to avoid overcrowding.

She explained that the vouchers would be redeemed at designated distribution sites.

This came as the Federal Government on Wednesday handed food items to the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development for vulnerable women across the country.

Umar-Farouq presented over the items to the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Pauline Tallen, in Abuja.

There is no country in the whole world, that is as empty, evil and so useless as Nigeria.
The same school children you could not feed while they were in schools, you now wish to feed them in their various homes across Nigeria, is there any other definition of crass ineptitude apart from this. By the way, how many households have you people given palliatives to since this pandemic and the eventual lockdown, because I have gotten nothing and I'm yet to see anyone who has.
Politics / Re: Audio Recording: Army Has Exposed Shekau's Lies - Security Expert, Murphy by Niaja4real(m): 10:09pm On May 06, 2020
aguele:

A security expert, Richard Murphy has said the killing of 135 Boko Haram terrorists in the Timbuktu Triangle around northeast Nigeria has exposed the terror group’s leader, Abubakar Shekau as a liar who is now under pressure to maintain an influence he never had.

Murphy, who spoke against the background of the series of military operations that resulted in the killing of the terrorists over last weekend, noted that the development has forced Shekau into a situation where he could be killed by his own commanders owing to the repeated losses they have suffered.

According to Murphy, “The pace at which the Nigerian military is going has made it clear that any terrorist that does not personally broker a deal to surrender is most likely to end up like those that have been killed in recent operations. Dead.

“Interestingly, there is a facet that some analysts are not seeing in the present military operations. These Boko Haram terrorists are being killed as they flee the battlegrounds. It is not that they were being repelled in the course of attacking a military base, it is not that they were killed while springing an ambush or launching a surprised attack against troops. They are being decimated by an army that took the war to them in their hideouts.

“I have an explanation for this. It is that the fundamentals changed in a way that Boko Haram terrorists and their commanders are yet to appreciate. They have lost the capacity to retreat into neighbouring Chad after launching attacks in Nigeria and the same can be said of Niger and even Cameroon. The Nigerian military also took delivery of certain hardwares, which was not the case as at the time decision makers in the west were being swayed by fabricated human rights violations report.

“Add the compelling leadership exhibited by the Nigerian Army Chief, General Buratai, and you begin to get a picture of why Shekau will do well to close shops, possibly consider a surrender, if that window is still open,” the security expert posited.

He said the number of terrorists killed by government troops in recent weeks have exposed Shekau’s “numerous lies” that have spurred his minions to their death in the ongoing war being waged against their insurgency.

Murphy explained that “War is not all about the bombs and the bullets. It also entails psychological warfare, which is what propaganda is directed at achieving. This must have been what Shekau thought he was doing when he recorded the latest audio he published. But within hours of the clip making it to the public it became apparent that it was a bad call given the mix of situations he currently faced. The desperation showed through just as each sentence of the recording is now proving to be a lie.

“Shekau lied that he was not considering any decision to surrender. Yes, in the business he is currently engaged in he wouldn't say otherwise until the final whistle, which we are not likely to wait for given the division that now dominate his camp.

“From all indications, he is on the run and his capacity to do any further fight with the troops is zero. He has lost over 300 men in just one month and such a rogue wants the world to believe that he is still able to fight? That's not correct. He is finished and his end has come,” he declared.

The security expert however said the Nigerian Army must sustain its offensive against the terrorists to ensure recovery is impossible for them while noting that the country had given Shekau enough time to surrender while he failed to take up the offer even though it was presented several times.

He warned that the Army must fight and ensure that the last terrorist is killed and not allowed to escape into Chad or any other neighbouring nation, “Nigeria must learn from the past in two different respects. The first is that any terrorist left behind in this onslaught is like the rhizome of an invasive plant species left in the soil, given enough time and the right conditions it will grow and take over the whole place; this is what happens each time the military defeats Boko Haram and leaves behind some remnants of the fighters. The second thing Nigeria must learn from is the history of Boko Haram itself, if you killed its founder or leader without mopping up the followers, they will always find a mad man to lead them into battle,” Murphy stated.
