How does my neighbour deals with this situation that every time he quarels with his wife, the wife will dash to the kitchen, pick a knife and will threaten to kill her self?

It happened last night again, when we heard thier heated argument(quarel), as close door neighbour and friends, we went into their apartment as usual and behold, the wife holding the kitchen knife threatening to kill herself.

This threat from his wife, has become a recurring act and its really worrisome both to the husband and to us too.

As a human being, my friend is of the opinion that he cannot stop correcting his wife when she goes wrong, neither would he look the other way when she does things unbecoming of her position as a wife and also being subject to yield to the correction and instruction of her husband, without prejudice to her right as a woman.

We hope that like play, like play, the wife will not carry out her threats one day. Meanwhile, the man has been reporting this action of his wife to the family, yet she has not stopped it inspite of the words of advice from her family and well wishers.

My guy needs advice to help deal with this incessant suicidal threats from his wife.
