Congratulations. Did you apply for a written authorization letter for your daughter? If yes. How long did it take for the approval to come? mamatee2: My Timeline:
I applied for study permit with my daughter (13 years).
Application Submitted : May 3, 2021 Biometrics Updated: May 4, 2021 (Did Biometrics in 2016) Background Check for Me: May 4, 2021 NSE Request: May 14, 2021 NSE Submitted: May 19, 2021 (My IELTS expired May 2020, but I submitted it with an explanation letter that I wouldn't be able to do the test within the time frame given and it was accepted, I guess. Submitted 3 MBS and 1 Normal Foreign Account Statement - all belonging to my sponsor. Also submitted my own Bank Statement). In the future, once I become a resident he would be happy to assist me. Received a Mail on July 23, 2021 that my application was under active review Ghost Update: July 23, 2021 Aug 23, 2021 - Contemplating deferring my admission BVL - Aug 24, 2021 - 3.13am Parent Authorization to Travel (for my daughter) Aug 24, 2021, 5.58am My PPR - Aug 24, 2021, 9.34am Still waiting for my daughter's PPR which I believe will drop after sending the Authorization letter.
Thank you to everyone for all your contributions on this platform. May the Lord grant each and everyone's heart desires. As you water, so shall you be watered back in Jesus name.
And to God of completion who makes all things beautiful in his time, to Him alone be all the glory! This journey is all by God's grace and his mercy for the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong. I pray for everyone still waiting on God for their PPR, may the Lord bring it to fruition. Amen. It shall end in praise for you all for WHAT GOD CANNOT DO DOES NOT EXIST!!!

Hello Everyone
Does anyone know how long it takes to get a passport request after the primary applicant has gotten it?
I applied with my daughter but her passport is yet to be requested for. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Since your daughter is accompanying yo, I will advice you do the medicals for her too . Even though they have not requested for it , which they will still do by the time they want to process her application. Typically IRRC processes the Primary Application first before attending to the Secondary application which is your daughter. For instance , My Passport was requested while I await a passport request for my daughter. Mconcept: Please has anyone done medicals for a 3year okd
I got a medical request but none for my daughter .
I need an advice as I intend to be going for medicals next week.
Should I do for my daughter as well

You need to consider the population. Canada is a bilingual country and its total population is 39million. makano: With this statistics, why still ask Nigerians for IELTS? We even have more English speakers than the countries asking us for IELTS.... |

You need to drop this mentally before heading to canada. Just imagine if everybody carry out this same action of yours and we want a better country. Upfront Medical is available than embarrassing yourself at the hospital. PaPaJayden: Let me get that medical request letter, first. IOM will know they met a different kinda person. By the time I stampede their office for 2 days, they will be left no choice but to attend to me on day 3. I can bet my life. For now, the focus is to get the request letter.

Congratulations. Echogrey: A very good morning to you all. It’s PPR!!
Wow! IRCC really toyed with my emotions o. In fact, I had decided my timeline would be very straightforward because of how they dragged the whole thing. It was just frustrating. But, to do that will be unfair.
Although I had submitted my application before I joined Nairaland, I must say that it’s been such a pleasure being on this platform. People are ever ready to help. Let’s all endeavor to continue with that spirit wherever we find ourselves. I really enjoyed reading good news (which went a long way in keeping my hopes alive) and I also said a little prayer in my heart for those who were refused. All will be well.
SO…snippets of information about my application:
I am going for my Masters of Law (LLM) at Western University (London, Ontario) to resume September 1. Please feel free to reach out if we would be neighbors! Lol
I was offered about 90% scholarship and I indicated my mum as sponsor to cover the remaining tuition fee and living expenses.
First time applicant.
To Note:
My permanent residency application which I submitted since December 2020 is still being processed. Dual intent comes in here!
General documents:
- Degree certificates/ transcripts. - Certificate of incorporation (ONLY) of father’s company and mother’s company. - Certificate of incorporation (ONLY) of mum’s foundation. - Mum’s Share certificates - CV - Int. Passport bio data pages for parents and siblings - Sworn affidavit of one and same person (my names are all over the place lol) - Police character certificate - IELTS result (L8,W,8,R8,S8.5) - Mum’s C of O for just one property (no valuation report, etc., ONLY CofO) - Proof of mum’s past and current employment - Letter of support from mum (sponsor) - Mum’s 1 year mybankstatement - Scholarship package from my faculty
Home ties:
1. Work ID card, Letter of introduction from current employer indicating my salary, benefits, etc., (and also stating that I will be granted a study leave once my study permit has been approved). 3. I also downloaded my appraisal notes where my supervisor made very nice comments about my work in the Firm and my good character ( The appraisal notes also stated that I was recommended for promotion). 4. I am also a trustee in my mum’s foundation (the certificate of incorporation shows my name as one of the trustees) 5. Fact that my parents and 2 younger siblings are in Nigeria. I am the first child of my parents.
Proof of Personal Assets:
- 3 months payslips and statement of salary account (the balance at the time was not too significant- I only highlighted salary inflow) - Statement of Retirement savings account and reference letter from Stanbic pension managers
Dual Intent:
I felt like I really needed to let them know that I would leave Canada (after my authorized stay) in the event that my PR application is refused so I added a bit more documents like:
- Character reference letter (from a former employer) who is also a notary public. - Affidavit of good conduct stating that I will abide by the relevant laws and would not stay in Canada beyond the authorized period. - I also stressed in my LOE, my frequent travels to the US and UK over the years so they know I will respectfully comply with their immigration laws and not overstay illegally.
Timeline:
- Application Submission: 30 March 2021 with NSE documents and upfront Medicals (which I used for my PR application)
- Review of Eligibility Start Date : 14 April 2021
(Caught more than 5 ghost updates )
- Medical Request : 10 June 2021
(Informed them via webform that I had previously submitted my medicals and it is still valid)
- Medical Passed : 14 June 2021
- BVL : 8 July 2021
- PPR: 9 July 2021
God bless us all and grant us our heart desires! Happy to answer any questions!
Cheers, guys!

I can share the student recruiter details with you. chat me via the email connect on Naira Land. It was a Phone conversation. No English test but if you have IELTS, you can access extra academic excellence scholarship but your CGPA will be considered too. I was only given $3000 which is tied to my academic performance after my 1st year. GodsGabby:
Thank you for your prompt response. Please do u suggest i mail the school first before applying to have a student recruiter assigned to me?
Also, was the interview face to face or questionnaire thing to be filled?
Please were you also given funding and did you take Gre/Gmat and any english Exam?
Please i await your response |

Canadian Experience Class is for people that have work experience in canada. That is what most students go with for PR application. The minimum entry is at least 1year work experience which i explained earlier. If you don't still understand please check Google or type Canadian Experience Class on YouTube. Doree:
Please can you elaborate on this? What is CEC? And what is the possibility of getting Pr within one year of pgwp?
I am a complete novice on this biko. |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by nifnifemi: 9:07am On Jul 06, 2021 |
Nothing is misleading. Before you can be able to go via CEC, you must have 1 year work experience. CEC is Canadian Experience Clase. Please check Google for yourself or watch youtube. The only time Canada allowed graduate student to apply without 1year experience was the recent temporary pathway for 40000 students, which was temporary. And the spot was closed within 24hrs. ritzzybaron: Are you aware that CEC picks in the EE pool is very frequent Nifnifemi I think your response is misleading.

The chances are slim and you will be in a tight spot. Since you will only be entitled to 1year PGWP. And having 1year to sort out your PR application might not be possible since you will be going through CEC tobe1997: Please I need more information
