i also read engineering, go for either mechatronics, electrical, software or mechanical. Computer engineering in nigeria is shit. Electrical, software, mechatronics and sometimes computer science can easily replace them and are much more relevant. computer science and engineering are very very different Mechatronics /electrical software and mechanical engineering are also different from computer engineering Computer engineering is a discipline that integrates several fields of electrical engineering and computer science required to develop computer hardware and software. Computer Science is the study of computers and computational systems. Unlike electrical and computer engineers, computer scientists deal mostly with software and software systems; this includes their theory, design, development, and application. Mechatronics-technology combining electronics and mechanical engineering mechanical engineering noun the branch of engineering dealing with the design, construction, and use of machines. Computer engineers are special and cant be easily replaced You cant tell a mechanic to fix your desktop or your phone |

Okay. Just loosen up a bit.People might mistake your character as proud or conceited. Anyways those guys above gave nice contributions. Please my younger brother wants to enter computer engineering, how promising is the field. We can't send him abroad now because of flatuating dollar,so we have been searching for a Nigerian varsity that does well in that field. How is babcock?is it better than convenant? Which is the best in Nigeria. You are right, people say i am proud and stubborn. I an still working on it I wont lie to you. Covenant is better academically. But bu is better overall Cu will frustrate your life. No mobile phones, holding hands with girls etc. Bu has frustrating rules tho,but not as much as cu. Covenant is cheaper. But personally, i think its overpopulated. They have just too many students Just make sure your brother is not an olodo and hell be fine Another advantage of babcock is that he can change to computer science or information sys if he doesnt like the engineering part Computer engineering is very good in bu as your brother can transfer to a poland university after his first year for a discounted rate and his bsc wont be from nigeria. Pc me for more info on that One guy above said computer engineering is poo.. that is very false. I know many grads from my school that re doing very well. Even making a lot of cash from 300l. Babcock computer department is very generous. They communicate with students and give them necessary connections and practical training outside of their normal school curriculum You can get a lot of internationally recognised certificates before you graduate. Its optional but this is available in cu as well without being biased. Ill say. Your brother should go to babcock or afe. My issue with afe tho is that its not fully mature. Its still at ita early stage of development |

Politics / Re: Nigerians No Longer Shouting Recession – Amaechi by NigerianScholar: 2:21pm On Jul 11, 2017 |
Because we re now used to it nwakibie3: Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi on Monday said that the economic recession in the country is not as bad as witnessed some months ago.
Amaechi, who has assured that the ongoing Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail would be completed by December 2018, said this in a chat with newsmen in Lagos.
Admitting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) must improve the economy, Amaechi said Nigerians should equally know that the economy was very bad when the present government took over.
His words: “When recession was biting, people were shouting recession. Now that it is no longer as biting, though there is still recession but it is not as biting as before, there is an improvement, true or false?
“Whether it is little or not, there is an improvement. Don’t forget that when we came, economy was very bad, nobody wants to remember that.
“I agree with people that put up the agreement that ‘we should shut up our mouth and work, that we knew there was a problem and that was why we asked to be voted in and that was why we were voted in’.
“So I agree with them but they should acknowledge first that there was a problem.
“We are addressing the issues and you must give us time to rebuild. Rebuilding is not one day, it doesn’t happen one day, does it?’”

kdon0000: Answer the questions intrepid just wrote and if you can give your self satisfactory answers, then these are my advices.
I finished from a public uni, in short one of the most difficult uni in nigeria. I tried my best but i wasnt successful. Mine was even in 4. Some thing then, i didnt get to achieve 1st class sha. Iam not discouraging you but if you really one to do it. You must 1. Fall inlove with reading all handouts and materials 2. Make friends with your predecessor ie 200 and 300 lvl students and always collect and accumulates their test and exam papers alongside their notebooks and materials or handout 3. Always remember that falling inlove is with a girl is -0.5 from you sgpa. Ie semesterial gp. 4. Dont follow girls, they can be very distractive and rescending. 5. Follow only serious students ie girls or boys who have a cgpa that is much greater than yours or close to yours. First class or close to. 6. Reduce your playtime and quits watching films when its 2 weeks to test and 1 month,1 week to exams. 7. Make sure you cover all materials and past questions from your seniors before resuming each semester 8. Always ask about all your lecturers from your seniors and how they set questions or behave. 9. Its not important to attend lectures if you dont understand what they are teaching. The time could be used for something better. Collect notes after the class from somebody and copy or photocopy them.you can meet friends(mostly 1st class student) who understand and organise time with him to explain it to you. 9. Always help others below you when you have understand a topic. It brings blessings but if its very close to exam period, start hiding yourself so as to have time to revise, repeat the reading and understand the topic very well. 10. Dont talk too much and dont be proud.
I didnt follow very strictly most of these rules and my cgpa went up sha but due to some problems beyond my control, i didnt get to reach it. And i love playing pes very much. 1. I dont like reading. What i read doesnt stick in my head. Its what i hear in lectures that stays 2. That is not efficient and it will be very time consuming. The time spent wont be worth the knowledge ill gain 3. This is the most difficult part.... i am only human 4. Can this be limited? 5. Cool, i see what you re telling me to do here 6. I dont play at all. I dont think i can stop myself from watching movies/series. Believe me i have tried. I just dont know how to stop 7. Babcock doesnt exactly give you the time for this. 7am and morning classes. Youll be exhausted already in the afternoon. And by the end of the day. You have to go to church. The same thing next day. Thats how it goes 8. Honestly, i only wish i knew this earlier.... |

Intrepid01: Hmmm...what a smart and forward thinking guy you are. While your mates are thinking about sleeping with every lady on your campus, here you are thinking about how to graduate with distinctions. I was like this some 12 yrs ago you know. But if you wouldn't mind, I would want you to re-direct this zeal, positivity and hunger in to something else. Don't get me wrong, it is wonderful to graduate with a first class, I never did so I can imagine how wonderful it could be. But the world is changing, it has become a place for inventors and less of a place for academic. You need to be able to answer some questions before we proceed:
1. Why exactly do you wanna have first class ( if it is for self fulfillment only, like you stated then you need a rethink)? 2. Do you intend becoming a lecturer in future, if yes, then it is a good thinking? 3. What exactly do you see yourself doing after school(this question is key, because you have to start acquiring all the skills you'll need to fit in to your desired future)?
I would advise you honestly answer those questions and start channeling your zeal, hunger and energy in to fitting in to what you want your future to look like. Do you intend to be a programmer, software expert or hardware guru? Now is the time to start acquiring those skills outside your formal setting.
The first class is for self fulfillment. I have been in school for 16 years and i know my ability academically/ i know my average grades. I know i xan do better than how i am doing. I am no messi. But imagine if messi doesnt score for a season. I fell how he'll feel. Lecturers. Especially the ones in my school are very underpaid I like programming a lot. But i think its too early to say i want to be a programmer because i need to taste or rather do everything and select what goes with me best |

The problem here is you're only concerned about boosting your CGPA not being an expert in your course of study. Not your fault though, it's the Nigerian mentality which places all the focus on Grades and not Knowledge. Which is why companies employ the beat graduating students on paper with abysmal performance in the field. Most successful brains didn't focus on the grades, that took care of itself, they focused on being experts.
All the best. I am one of the best when it comes to computer -based courses in ny class. Automatic A for me I have a lot of practical skills. Like i said before, i just want to get better on paper because i know i can do better. And i cant sit back knowing my knowledge is not being fully optimized Re you suggesting i dont focus on the grades..i dont think that works. Because to pass in nigeria. You dont need to know the course. You need to know what the teacher has been saying. It all boils down to the teacher. I dont think this method will work in Nigeria. It is the right thing. But sadly, nothing is right in thia country 1 Like |

Education / I Need To Increase My Cgpa By 1.7 Points Before I Graduate. (advice Needed) by NigerianScholar: 6:12am On Jul 11, 2017 |
I just finished my 100l in babcock university in computer technology. My current cgpa is 3.8. And i need to increase it to a first class (4.5/5.0) not because i think i need it for a job or approval from someone. But i need it to find satisfaction... As a normal person, i know my ability (i am not basing mine relative to my peers) I know that i can do much better.
I attend all my classes....every single one I do all assignments. Passively. Like i copy what i am not 100% sure of and do a lot of last minute work.
I dont have any family issues or anything bothering me. but just random moodswings which is common among teenagers. I can say i am emotionally stable
I dont do pda. But i do go outside at nights to gist with some female friends from sunset till like 10:30... in an innocent way. About 4x every week.
My room-mates are just acquaintances. I made sure i didnt stay with my friends to avoid distractions. But i have a social media and movie addiction.
I am the kind of person that performs well in exam without reading or practice. I hate reading. As long as i go to the class. All what the lecturer says will enter my head. (As long as i dont forget it later) whatever i read just stays in my head for a couple of days or so
No matter the situation. I dont copy/ cheat in any way during exams, quizzes, tests etc. I know this contradicts what i do in my assignment...but it is what it is its still the same google well get the info from. So my academic work is all me
I only pay attention in classes that interest me. I cant decieve myself by listening to my physics lecturer. Its something ill never understand
I am pleading with you all that have gone through this phase to give me advice on to make my grades better/mistakes and trap to avoid etc. I dont want any article from the internet. Or just words. I want feasible ideas that actually worked for someone at a point.(quote me if possible)
You can also ask any question if i didnt answer it before
Thank you.

Jokes Etc / Re: Me, My Sister And Her Friends (18+) by NigerianScholar: 5:11am On Jul 11, 2017 |
Pascalblinks: ME, MY SISTER AND HER FRIENDS (18+) PART 1 . F–k! I can’t believe what I’m seeing in my parents’ living room. Three giggling teenage girls, wearing sheer lingerie are sitting on the couch cheering on a fourth girl who is attempting to deep throat a d—o. What the f–k! The cheers and laughter is probably why they didn’t hear me come in through the kitchen door. I step back into the shadows of the hallway while my c–k responds to the luscious, pale a-s cheeks of the fourth girl. Her purple sheer nightie has ridden up over her heart-shaped a-s, revealing her matching thong as she starts to gag on the rubber d–k suction-cupped to the glass topped coffee table. “I can do this!” the girl exclaims, taking a deep breath and sliding her lips back down the realistic looking c–k. Holy s– t! That’s Lauren’s voice! My d–k is hard and I’m having perverted thoughts about my 18- year-old sister. I guiltily look away from her scrumptious a-s cheeks and try to forget what her lips look like sliding down that fake c–k. “I thought you said you had done this before,” laughs one of the girls, pulling my attention back to the couch. The other three girls are wearing similar outfits, sheer baby doll nighties with matching thong p@nties. The only variation seems to be the color. “I have done it before,” my sister protests, “but with a real d–k! This thing isn’t working for me. I need a real d–k.” Lauren sits back on her heels and laughs along with her friends. “There appears to be one in the hallway!” The cute black girl sitting closest to me says as she smiles in my direction. F–k! Busted! I might as well take the offensive and try to put Lauren on the defense. “Brandon!” Lauren screams, jumping to her feet as I step into the room. Her t–s bounce temptingly inside the cups of the purple nightie. “What the f–k are you doing here?” “Never mind about me? What the f–k is all of this?” I sweep my arm towards the coffee table where, besides the suction cupped d—o there are several vibrators and other assorted s-x toys. “What’s going on here?” I’m six years older than Lauren and I’ve been living with my girlfriend for the past couple of years. I crash at my parents’ house whenever Kelly and I fight, which seems to be happening quite often lately. “We’re having a sleepover,” Lauren says as if that explains all of this. While she’s getting outraged with me, I’m checking out her girlfriends. It’s like looking at a live action Victoria Secret’s ad. There’s the African- American girl who spotted me in the hallway. My eyes zero in on the yellow nightie barely covering her impressive chest. Next to her is Kristina, Lauren’s petite blonde friend from down the street, looking pretty in her pink lingerie. Finally, on the other end of the couch is a tall brunette all decked out in the sexiest shade of red. “A sleepover?” I ask, raising my eyebrows as I appraise their outfits. The tops are sheer except for the bra-like cups around their b—– s. In actuality, except for the thong, they don’t show much more than a skimpy bikini but somehow it is much more enticing when it’s lingerie. “We had a lingerie party,” the black girl explains, smiling without a hint of embarrassment. “Do you like our outfits?” She stands and twirls around giving me a great view of her full, round a-s cheeks. “Alex!” Lauren admonishes her. “That’s my brother!” “Well, you should at least introduce us,” Alex answers, stepping forward with her hand extended. “I’m Alexis but you can call me Alex.” She smiles as I shake her hand. “Brandon,” my sister takes over the introductions. “You know Kristina,” she says, pointing to her friend in the pink nightie. I nod in her direction. “Hello, Brandon,” Kristina smiles demurely. “And this is Kylie.” The tall brunette stands up and extends her hand. “Nice to meet you, Brandon,” she says, making eye contact. D–n! We’re almost the same height and I’m a little over six feet. “My pleasure,” I answer, shaking her hand, which is surprisingly small and feminine given her stature. While being introduced to her friends, I steal surreptitious glances at my sister. She has really filled out over the past couple of years. Something I hadn’t noticed during my previous visits. Of course, she wasn’t wearing Sekxy lingerie any of those times. F–k! My c–k is hardening again. This is so wrong. “What are you doing here?” Lauren asks, drawing my attention back. “I needed a place to stay,” I shrug without further explanation. I’m about to ask her whether mom knows what she’s up to but my sister and I have an unspoken agreement about not embarrassing each other in front of our friends. “Well,” I smile at the Sekxy foursome. “Sorry to have interrupted. I’ll just head up to my room and leave you girls to your fun. Where are mom and dad?” I ask.

Phones / Re: 5 Effective Ways To Break Phone Addiction by NigerianScholar: 4:54pm On Jul 10, 2017 |
Most of your points re just words. I dont think a simple one will be effective JARUSHUB: An addiction is basically when a thing begins to control your life and interferes with your daily activities, work and relationships. When your phone starts to do that to you, it has become an addiction you need to immediately break. Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency, shares 5 effective ways to break a phone addiction.
The First Few Minutes of Your Day
The first way to break a phone addiction is to dedicate the first 10 to 30 minutes of your day, at least, to planning and creating a good start to your day, rather than unlocking your phone to browse various internet or social media platforms. planning your day well. Wont guarantee you wont be stuck to your screen for the remaining hours of the day
Create No-Phone Periods
You have to be strict with this one because this can significantly decrease your productivity and efficiency once you are unable to carry it out. If you find yourself constantly being distracted by your phone, it is necessary to create a no-phone period, where for a specific number of minutes or hours you close off your phone and stay completely dedicated to your work.
Having a no phone period will only heighten your anticipation and give you more ideas of things to do when you finally get your phone back
Don’t Lose Sleep Over Your Phone
Set limits. You should never allow your phone deprive you of your sleep. Be disciplined and set limits. The moment you stop putting energy into caring for your basic needs and start putting all your time and energy into your phone, you are allowing your phone dictate your health and well-being. Please stop that, your phone is not worth your health.
This has nothing to do with stopping an addiction
Customize Your Notifications
The fact is the lesser notifications you receive, the less likely you are to get distracted by your smartphone and constantly check your smartphone. Therefore, customize your smartphone notifications by turning off notifications for the apps that distract you the most. I see where you are trying to come from here. But still, this cant effective. As a former phone addict. I always pick up my phone to reply a message before the notification comes up. It happens. Whether your phone is on silent mode or not. Your mind would stoll bug you to check
Work on Building Real Life Relationships
Rather than spending hours building virtual relationships, try to get real and work to develop real world relationships. Real world relationships are more physically and emotionally gratifying than virtual relationships, so try to move your relationships with people from your phone to a real world platform. Instead of chatting, try to meet up somewhere next time (but be careful with this however and take this step with people you are without a doubt sure you can trust. The key phrase here is ‘without a doubt’.)
this is text messaging addiction i guess. Probably the most effective of everything. After the physical part. It still boils down to "give me your number" and youll both chat away your lives. But the idea of using real world relationships to distract you from your phone can work. But it will take a ton of effort

doughziay: I was invited to a church close to my hood and while I was less busy, I decided to attend service this Sunday morning. After the first part of the activities ( praise, worship and prayer) The pastor mounted the pulpit to minister.
He began with introducing the topic to be preached on an started his sermon. After the service, I met him to ask a few questions about what he preached that I wasn't comfortable about and coupled with the fact that he sounded unsure of some bible verses he quoted.
He said he is busy at the moment and directed me to the junior pastor to be attended to, while he was visibly not doing anything. May be he can't stand to be corrected by members . Nobody is infallible. we all make mistakes. I can attribute his flaws to lack of preparation prior to today.
My Question: Have you been able to correct a pastor before and what was his/her reaction?
if u haven't, what made you not do so?
No. I havent. Reason being that most pastors have these superiority complex and are condescending A pastor once said that listening to secular music will give your kids all those weird two heads diseases |

Choice 1. Very cheap phone. Just for calls the kind you'd give your grandma
Choice 2. Cheap phone. Possible a very previous version of android, windows, blackberry os 7 below..may run whatsapp and other modern apps
Choice 3. 2015/16/17 budget phone. You should know what i mean here. The 3310 is an example
Please give me your opinions
