First company to put email on phone,to use touchscreen??
NaijaTechGuy:
Today I'll be assigning "Bragging Rights" where they truly belong.
I'm tired of some smartphone companies claiming to be the first to make an innovation in the mobile phone sector when they were just the first known brand to do such. It's time to get even.

I'm delighted you could join me on the Bragging Rights Award Show grin..

FingerPrint Technology
Apple was probably first company to convince the public that they needed a fingerprint scanner on their phones, but it certainly wasn't the first to put it on a handset. The Award goes to the Pantech Gl100 manufactured in 2004, that's exactly three years before Apple even made the iPhone.

No Headphone Jacks
Guess who is responsible for the present trend of leaving out the standard 3.5mm headphone jack?
The O2 XDA II (made by HTC) in 2003. Its USB port was used as a headphone port, as well as charging and data transfer.

Refocusable Photos

Every Smartphone Company is rushing into dual cameras, often used to create bokeh effects. But Nokia was ahead of them on that one, with refocusable photos (bokeh and all) in 2013 with the Lumia 925.

Slow Motion Video
Sony is king of the cameras right now with its 960fps capability, but in 2007 LG released the KU990 Viewty. It managed the impressive 120fps at 240p, not bad considering that even 30fps videos didn't have much in terms of resolution - just 480p.
First Selfie Camera
Siemens pulled this off in 2003 with the Siemens U15

Wireless Charging
The Palm Pre supported wireless charging with the Touchstone stand. Samsung started wireless charging in 2015's Galaxy S6 (the S4 and S5 had official wireless charging covers, but it wasn't built in).

Water Resistance

Water resistance is another popular feature that is quite older than you might expect. Sony achieved this with the Ericsson R310s in 2000. It had basic water resistance thanks to the GORE All-Weather material (commonly used in jackets).

The Casio Can 502S was the world's first properly waterproof phone. It was launched in 2005 and could stay underwater for up to 30 minutes..
Let's have a round of applause for the awardees. Drop your device right now and start clapping.

Yeah

I said keep clapping..

I know some people will feel like doing this to me right now

grin grin

There, I'm done with the bragging rights award. However, the main thing isn't about who did it first, it's about who perfected the feature.

you're still committing fallacy of false equivalence

teacher doesn't KNOW the ability of the students, he/she only has a fairly good idea of their abilities, there are students who are good at classworks homeworks and even participate good in class BUT aren't good in high pressure situations such as exams

it seems this difference still eludes you, let me give you further explanation

a teacher can think student X would fail the exam and student X ended up passing and vice versa BUT for omniscience there's NO WAY his creation that he KNOWS would fail a test to suddenly pass it! that means he's not omniscient in the first place

give it another go, your student teacher analogy excludes omniscience which is the most important part of this discussion
okay. Forget the teacher student scenario. U cant get what i am trying to point out

Like i said. The test wasnt for God. Its for his creation. God is omniscient but we re not its just to make us know we cam be faulted

And even though God knew we could fail. He still gave us the power of choice. He didnt create mindless zombies. I think i told u this before

NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT!! a teacher can't "know everything" about the person they're testing, that's why we have tests in the first place!!!

This is a blatant case of Fallacy of False Equivalence

teacher may "have an idea", agreed BUT he doesn't KNOW he only has an idea, whereas an Omniscient being KNOWS for sure and not "idea"

BIG DIFFERENCE!!!

this is non sequitur and ignoratio elenchi

now have a go at the question again cuz all your attempts so far have been totally off the mark

Why should an omniscient being test his creation?

you brought teachers-student scenario into the discussion and I've shown that its a totally different ball game from an omniscient-creation scenario cuz omniscience is not there in the former but there in the latter

now please give it a much better shot

The teacher will know the ability of the student. But the test is not for the teacher...it is for the student. God is omniscient but we re not. And the teacher student scenario can be used as an xample

now answer my own question
They are not omniscient...agreed. but they should know everything about the person they are testing...their abilities e.t.c. the test is never for the teacher.....its for the student

Can a teacher give grades without testing even though the teacher has an idea of what the student will get?

Chemist009:
..... Hello fellows,my name is Shuaibu(not real name),am in my late twenties and am from Edo. So this is my story:

... Everything was going well and I was really at my peak until this happened some 11 years ago(2006 precisely)...... I was at home with my Guardian's wife and one of my cousins at night(around 8pm or so) when suddenly I heard someone call my name at the door and I answered rushing to open the door, only to discover that there was nobody at the door and i was a little terrified. And that ordeal, I can say was the beginning of my mystery.

Later on,I began having series of terrible nightmares that would linger on to become part of my life till this day. Firstly,I would always dream that I want to take something, but my hand will never get to it as i would stretch and stretch-and it was a recurring nightmare that happened on a regular basis. Secondly,I always dreamt that am always being pursued or running and when am running, it's usually at a very very slow rate and this dream too happened all the time. And so for a long sustained period,i had these two nightmares and in most occasions, always in danger.

Fastforward to a few years later and I would notice deterioration in every facet of my life, yet, I would just ignore. Later around 2012, I would gain admission into the University, but I well too realised that I was never the same again..... Before i entered University though, I began having health challenges (chest pain and discomfort) and I inwardly suspected it's a heart problem. So at the University, to cut a long story short, I never got anywhere near my peak and it was always whenever i had it in mind that I wanted to study or exams were around the corner that my chest problem always came, but when free or unoccupied or during holidays, I felt healthy and this was the trend all through my University days.

Again, although it was nightmares pre University, at the university it became somewhat metaphysical and it was in truth worrying. Whenever i slept and wanted to wake up, I always felt as though am being held down and standing up or even shaking becomes impossible and this has continued till this day. In summary, of recent it's either very terrible nightmares or not being able to stand up when awake as a result of being held down-and this mainly happens when am sleeping alone and in most cases when the room is dark.

It's way more mysterious than i presented it, but this is just a Summary of everything. Opinions please cos I feel trapped......

Crime / Can We Have Policemen Go Undercover As Secret Agents In Nigeria? by NigerianScholar: 1:46am On Jun 15, 2017
We should all be familiar with the high crime rates we have in Nigeria amd how new measures re hardly being implemented to solve this problem.
Well, i watched three hollywood crime/action movies today "keanu/ride along/20sth jump street" something similar to this is also in fast and furious 2 and i noticed something very sensible in these movies. They actually get people from the police force to disguise as a normal civilian to infiltrate a gang/crime group and secretly help the police to monitor their weaknesses and find potential weaknesses. The undercover agents get to commit crimes with the criminal group but are given amnesty upon completion. Simce the crimes were committed for a good deed.

Now, as i do for most movies. I try to see we i can apply soeme things there to the actual world and i am not sure if they actually do this in the united states. But i think if would be a very useful strategy if the police force could use it.
Think about it. The crime rate would reduce drastically because everyone will be scared of an incognito policeman. That is if they know.

But the policeman can secretly leak critical information about the gang/group to the police. Instead of just commiting crimes without repercussions. It will improve overall safety as well
Just imagine if a policeman was undercover in the group of the notorious kidnapper just arrested in Lagos. Things would go smoothly.
More jobs will be available.

But there is always a chance of the undercover policeman being carried away and join the criminal group mainly because he is underpaid. But i believe we still have good nigerians.

I just thought of this stuff just now. Please let me know below if this will be effective in Nigeria today or i just got carried away by the movies

Please give reasons as well

Who will live the life of the excess people since there is a population increase. I think the short story provides a more logical take on reincarnation.

The Egg
By: Andy Weir

You were on your way home when you died.
It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me.
And that’s when you met me.
“What… what happened?” You asked. “Where am I?”
“You died,” I said, matter-of-factly. No point in mincing words.
“There was a… a truck and it was skidding…”
“Yup,” I said.
“I… I died?”
“Yup. But don’t feel bad about it. Everyone dies,” I said.
You looked around. There was nothingness. Just you and me. “What is this place?” You asked. “Is this the afterlife?”
“More or less,” I said.
“Are you god?” You asked.
“Yup,” I replied. “I’m God.”
“My kids… my wife,” you said.
“What about them?”
“Will they be all right?”
“That’s what I like to see,” I said. “You just died and your main concern is for your family. That’s good stuff right there.”
You looked at me with fascination. To you, I didn’t look like God. I just looked like some man. Or possibly a woman. Some vague authority figure, maybe. More of a grammar school teacher than the almighty.
“Don’t worry,” I said. “They’ll be fine. Your kids will remember you as perfect in every way. They didn’t have time to grow contempt for you. Your wife will cry on the outside, but will be secretly relieved. To be fair, your marriage was falling apart. If it’s any consolation, she’ll feel very guilty for feeling relieved.”
“Oh,” you said. “So what happens now? Do I go to heaven or hell or something?”
“Neither,” I said. “You’ll be reincarnated.”
“Ah,” you said. “So the Hindus were right,”
“All religions are right in their own way,” I said. “Walk with me.”
You followed along as we strode through the void. “Where are we going?”
“Nowhere in particular,” I said. “It’s just nice to walk while we talk.”
“So what’s the point, then?” You asked. “When I get reborn, I’ll just be a blank slate, right? A baby. So all my experiences and everything I did in this life won’t matter.”
“Not so!” I said. “You have within you all the knowledge and experiences of all your past lives. You just don’t remember them right now.”
I stopped walking and took you by the shoulders. “Your soul is more magnificent, beautiful, and gigantic than you can possibly imagine. A human mind can only contain a tiny fraction of what you are. It’s like sticking your finger in a glass of water to see if it’s hot or cold. You put a tiny part of yourself into the vessel, and when you bring it back out, you’ve gained all the experiences it had.
“You’ve been in a human for the last 48 years, so you haven’t stretched out yet and felt the rest of your immense consciousness. If we hung out here for long enough, you’d start remembering everything. But there’s no point to doing that between each life.”
“How many times have I been reincarnated, then?”
“Oh lots. Lots and lots. An in to lots of different lives.” I said. “This time around, you’ll be a Chinese peasant girl in 540 AD.”
“Wait, what?” You stammered. “You’re sending me back in time?”
“Well, I guess technically. Time, as you know it, only exists in your universe. Things are different where I come from.”
“Where you come from?” You said.
“Oh sure,” I explained “I come from somewhere. Somewhere else. And there are others like me. I know you’ll want to know what it’s like there, but honestly you wouldn’t understand.”
“Oh,” you said, a little let down. “But wait. If I get reincarnated to other places in time, I could have interacted with myself at some point.”
“Sure. Happens all the time. And with both lives only aware of their own lifespan you don’t even know it’s happening.”
“So what’s the point of it all?”
“Seriously?” I asked. “Seriously? You’re asking me for the meaning of life? Isn’t that a little stereotypical?”
“Well it’s a reasonable question,” you persisted.
I looked you in the eye. “The meaning of life, the reason I made this whole universe, is for you to mature.”
“You mean mankind? You want us to mature?”
“No, just you. I made this whole universe for you. With each new life you grow and mature and become a larger and greater intellect.”
“Just me? What about everyone else?”
“There is no one else,” I said. “In this universe, there’s just you and me.”
You stared blankly at me. “But all the people on earth…”
“All you. Different incarnations of you.”
“Wait. I’m everyone!?”
“Now you’re getting it,” I said, with a congratulatory slap on the back.
“I’m every human being who ever lived?”
“Or who will ever live, yes.”
“I’m Abraham Lincoln?”
“And you’re John Wilkes Booth, too,” I added.
“I’m Hitler?” You said, appalled.
“And you’re the millions he killed.”
“I’m Jesus?”
“And you’re everyone who followed him.”
You fell silent.
“Every time you victimized someone,” I said, “you were victimizing yourself. Every act of kindness you’ve done, you’ve done to yourself. Every happy and sad moment ever experienced by any human was, or will be, experienced by you.”
You thought for a long time.
“Why?” You asked me. “Why do all this?”
“Because someday, you will become like me. Because that’s what you are. You’re one of my kind. You’re my child.”
“Whoa,” you said, incredulous. “You mean I’m a god?”
“No. Not yet. You’re a fetus. You’re still growing. Once you’ve lived every human life throughout all time, you will have grown enough to be born.”
“So the whole universe,” you said, “it’s just…”
“An egg.” I answered. “Now it’s time for you to move on to your next life.”
And I sent you on your way.

DY20:
Hi Nairalanders!

"My dad talks too much" and by saying too much I did not mean he's crazy or something, I mean he talks sensible thing for an absurd long period of time.

Let me use 5 out of million of scenario to define my case.

1. Anytime the family is complete inside the house, and everyone is quiet; busy with something, I browsing on my phone, my little brother playing video game, my sister using beads, mum watching TV and my dad? Talking. When it is very obvious that no one cares to listen, he continue talking.

2. If any of my friends came to visit me, they will become my dad's guest. From the very first moment they say "Good morning" to him, he started talking, asking them questions, essp about their work, school, and talking about his own life too. Like what is happening now, I can see awkward smile on their face as they listen but just don't want to walk away leaving him embarrassed.

3. One day, I was chatting with girlfriend till late in the night, he woke up and say a light in the male children's room, he came in and started accusing me of internet fraud. We talked and talked till we settle it at dawn. From 2 to 4.30. In the morning, my dad started the topic with my mum again.

4. He talks every seconds when he is in the house or when anyone is with him.

5. He make anyone he saw with me (or any of my siblings) to introduce themselves. Indoor or outdoor.

I don't usually talk about my family affair with people but nobody knows me here or my dad.

I just want to know how to handle situation like this because I've started thinking of leaving the house. Maybe I'll learn to accept him when I don't see him everyday.

See? He is starting already... continues to talk when I'm not even looking at him.

Saying jesus is my friend or anything similar to it is only figurative.

And this whole thread is just a rant. Dont believe in God or jesus- fine?
But dont just go on insulting other peoples belief just because you dont agree with it- we all have the right to believe what we want to.

According to my belief
Jesus is an extension of God, he is God. But God in the form of man. Thats why people say he is God and the son of God. Read jesus the messiah by efe m ehioghae to understand this more.

And this means he is omniscient like God. I.e he knows us all. If we believe in him and behave Christ-like and we "know" his story and personal life in the new testament. Thats the relationship

Btw most of these questions you asked can be answered by someone who has read the story of jesus.

"I have a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ."

Do you gag as much as I do at hearing this? our Christians parrot it like the be all and end all but scratch the surface and you'll see that its all meaningless words meant to feel good and keep the sheep

let's see

I've known my sister for decades. Although I'm a Gallivanter (not strictly) and she lives in Trondheim, Norway so we only see each other every couple of years, I can tell you:

• how tall she is.

• what color her eyes are.

• what color and how curly her hair is.

• the different kinds of prescription drugs she takes, and what for.

• which parts of her have been operated on.

• which colleges she attended.

• what jobs she's held.

• what cities she's lived in.

• what her hobbies are.

• the names and breeds of the various dogs and cats she's had thru the years.

• her favorite sports teams, and which one she has season tickets for.

• the TV programs she watches regularly.

• that it's her on the phone just from the sound of her voice.

• her attitude toward eating meat.

• whom she voted for in the last parliamentary election.

• what kind of medical care she wants in case of a terminal illness.

• her favorite color.

• and about 50 other things.

Now that's a personal relationship. Could any of you Bible-thumpers manage even half a dozen comparable answers about your "deep, personal friend" Jesus? And, even assuming your overwrot imagination could in fact gin up a few stabs at them, what are chances that they'd agree with any other equally deluded "True Believer"? on the other hand, you could ask any of my sister's other good friends about the above characteristics, and I'm confident they'd give you the exact same answers I would. That's because my sister, unlike your Jesus, is real — a 3-dimensional, flesh-and-blood, living, breathing, real-world human being, with a life, preferences, substance, and history.

So, Mr. or Ms. True Believer, let's say you're walking across mall one day, you see your good buddy Jesus in a bunch of folks ahead of you, and you holler "Hey, J, dude, wait up!". Would he?

Let's not kid ourselves. This would never even happen because there's no way you'd be able to pick Jesus out of a crowd. Heck, you couldn't pick him out of a 1-person lineup. You wouldn't know him if he walked up to you on the street and handed you his business card. (In fact, it would tickle me pink to see your reaction if somebody actually did exactly that.)

you guys can't even agree on who this your "deep personal friend" Jesus is
There are those who believe Jesus IS God.
There are those who believe Jesus is the "Son" aspect of the trinity.
There are those who believe Jesus was a human being touched by god, and God spoke through him.
There are those who believe that Jesus was a man born with his "eyes opened", or "enlightened", and simply spoke what he knew, but was not God himself. (The phrase "Son of God" is often used to refer to Rabbis in general.) yet all these guys have "deep personal relationship" with the same entity

So obviously, we both know exactly what your claim to have a "deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ" is. It's bullsheeet. You know it's bullsheeet. Everybody else knows it's bullsheeet. The only reason you keep on repeating this bullsheeet is because it's the slogan of the club that some con artist or charlatan has suckered you into believing you really want to be a member of. All you have to do is keep repeating the magic bullsheeet phrase "I have a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ" and you can keep going to the club meetings. (Provided you keep paying the dues, too; let's not forget what's really important here.)

But don't think that repeating that phrase is going to win you anything but contempt or possibly some degree of pity from anyone with a functioning brain. All you're really demonstrating is that you don't know diddly squat about real relationships or the way the real world really works.

God didnt only visit Adam and eve. He walked with them. This is how our relationship with God is meant to be until they introduced sin into themselves by eating the forbidden fruit. It is that sin that seperated us from God.

It made us so dirty that we cant comprehend the glory of God. Except when he appears in another form. Eg burning bush that wasnt really burning

ilynem:

I know where your confusion is. You confuse a person with a being. As persons we have different but as beings we are equal in the sense that we are all humans. Bolt is probably a bigger person than me (that is still up for debate wink ) but he is NOT a bigger human being than I am. God made all of us equal. You are right we all have our weaknesses and strengths and these qualities complement each other nicely. You weren't made above any woman sir. This reasoning can only be detrimental to women around you.
