But Chief Obasanjo is jealous because President Buhari has more esteem than him and the sooner he learns to respect him the better.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi says Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike is alcoholic and power-drunk for alleging that he was behind plot to destroy the Chief Justice of the Federation, CJN, Walter Onnoghen. Recall that Governor Wike while speaking at a political gathering on Thursday January 17th, alleged that Amaechi was behind the travails of the embattled Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.



A statement relesed by Amaechi’s Media Office, says the Minister who handed over power to Wike, was dismayed about the allegations leveled against him

''This is another blatant lie just to smear Amaechi and put him on collision course with the judiciary. Ordinarily, we would not have bothered to respond to a Governor whose stock-in-trade is to concoct stories and lie about almost everything and anything. Wike completely lacks any shred of credibility. Nothing is sacred to him

“The former Rivers State Governor and Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is not a judicial officer and is not part of whatever is happening in the Judiciary. We challenge Nyesom Wike to mention the name of the APC chieftain, he falsely alleged, Amaechi discussed the ‘destruction of the CJN with.

This Wike’s latest attack on Amaechi is reminiscent of his earlier spurious allegations during the Ikoyi-Osborne-gate scandal where Wike disgracefully opened his mouth to shamelessly allege that the former Rivers State Governor, Amaechi was the owner of the 13 billion dollars and the owner of the Osborne apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos, where the money was kept.

Wike lied that the money was stolen from Rivers State Government treasury. However, in Wike’s usual chicanery, up to today, he has refused to go to Court to claim the 13 billion dollars found in that apartment which he claimed was Rivers money stolen by his predecessor. Even when a court of law openly asked anyone laying claim to the money to come forward and collect it, Wike ran far away from the court and chickened out, like the chicken he is.”

The statement added that Nigerians should ignore Wike ''a frivolous, deceitful character who is obviously drunk on power and off course, alcohol- what a terrible collabo!”.

The names of the presidential and vice-presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is missing from the final list of presidential candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

INEC published the full list yesterday and Donald Duke, a former Governor of Cross River State, had won the presidential primary election of the party but his victory had been challenged by Jerry Gana, a former Minister of Information.

The matter was taken to court and the court recognised Gana and upturned the result. After the court ruling, the party disowned Gana, affirming their support for Duke.

Tech giant Huawei’s massive new campus, which is designed to look like a group of European cities, has left people in awe.

The campus in the Chinese city of Dongguan recreates a wide swathe of Europe, from faux Italian towers to artificial lakes and classical palaces. It also has its own tram system.

The campus is split into 12 “towns,” which are areas where employees work. Each town is named after a European city. There are towns including Paris, Granada, Verona and Bruges.
The campus is still being built. So far 8 out of the 12 towns have been completed.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has called for caution in the charges filed against the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Hon Justice Walter Onnoghen by the Federal Government.

In a statement issued yesterday, Dogara said that while the House awaits further briefing from relevant agencies, nevertheless, it is important that due process is followed because Nigeria is a country governed by laws and not dictates of men.

He noted that the House is not less zealous in the fight against corruption, but said to commence a matter of that grave magnitude with a media trial is pregnant with innuendos least needed by the polity at this sensitive time.

The First naked restaurant in Paris is being forced to close due to lack of customers.

The nudist restaurant in the east of Paris, called “O’Naturel”, opened in November 2017 with so much publicity. But despite France’s reported 2.7 million practising naturists, the restaurant has not turned out to be sustainable in the long run.

The nake restaurant got rave reviews from customers who were expected to shed their clothes in the cloakroom and leave it there along with mobile phones to prevent people from sneaking a photo of other customers. They were then given slippers to wear to the dining area, although women were allowed to keep their heels on if they wanted. In spite of the positive reviews, they still couldn’t get enough customers and are now being forced to close to avoid financial embarrassment.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick has thrown more light on the monthly take-home for Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, saying the Franco-German tactician is now earning $55,000 and not $60,000, as has been reported in the media.

According to Footballlive.ng, Pinnick insists Rohr is earning only $55,000 as his monthly salary, adding that this is so only because the soccer body recently approved a $10,000 increment for the gaffer.

This comes hot on the heels of a survey just before the World Cup, which showed how Rohr has become the world’s 24th highest paid coach from all 32 coaches that handled teams at Russia 2018.

The Federal Government is planning to spend about N1.02bn to conduct twelve economic surveys through the National Bureau of Statistics in the 2019 fiscal period.

The amount is contained in the 2019 budget proposal which was submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly.

The 2019 budget has an estimate of N8.83tn made up of N4.04tn for recurrent expenditure, N2.03tn for capital expenditure and N2.14tn for debt servicing, among others.

An analysis of the budget showed that the N1.02bn is captured under the budget of the National Bureau of Statistics.

The total budget of the NBS is estimated at N5.25bn made up of N1.02bn for capital expenditure while the balance of N4.23tn is for recurrent expenditure.

A breakdown of the N1.02bn showed that the highest amount of N373.2m is being proposed to conduct job creation and labour force survey. The job creation survey measures the level of unemployment in the country.

This is followed by socioeconomic survey with N121.45m.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has described as futile effort, any attempt by politicians to hack into its website to compromise the card readers.

Just as the commission said over 84. 04 million Nigerians will vote in this year’s general elections.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, at the first quarterly meeting with registered political parties for this year, alerted the nation of a new method of vote buying devised by politicians.

He disclosed that “some partisan actors” were now going round buying up permanent voters cards (PVCs) from voters or financially inducing them to collect the Voter Identification Numbers (VIN) on their PVCs.
