bigkesh: Nihilist you are better than this!! Even my kid brother knows they are there because the main guys are resting....Solanke,Colkett and co dey play under-19 euros He had no choice man He should have sent just 11 players on a preseason tour na Thank God you even highlighted Miazga,Hector and Papy.....Should those guys even have anything to do with us in the first place if our TD isn't brain dead?
I didn't actually highlight Papy. I highlighted Miazga(age 20) and Hector(age 23).
Can you tell me what I said wrong now? Are these not youth players? Why should they not be in the first team?
ATTACKERS: Diego Costa, Loïc Rémy, Bertrand Traroré, Kenedy, Oscar, Willian, Victor Moses, Christian Atsu
I don't like this...it looks like a stewpeed TD actually recommeded some youth for training afterall. A whopping 13 players aged 23 and below. Mehn I can only pray that I dont get unjustified hate in my own life the way Boda Emenalo gets it. Amen.
diggz: It is a good thing we now have kante. I hope we can now focus on fixing the backline especially the three position.
Since we have been linked to getting a CB already, which is good! We should be fine with zouma, ivanovic, cahill, terry, the new cb n chris(who could be on his way to another loan move).
I hope conte will consider bringing back Wallace as a back up to azi. Though, I must confess that, I hv not watched in play for sometime now.
Baba rahman is a unique one for me. I clearly do not rate him and if possible want him out however, conte will be in a better position to determine if he wants him at the club and if he will be the first choice LB. I only pray he improves if he stays back but more importantly we get a better LB before the window closes.
Christensen is already on loan at Gladbach till next season
diggz: At what point would you actually agree a youth player of ours is ready to be in the first team?
Not that I am accusing you of anything however, over the years I have noticed you have always been skeptical about players from our youth team and I am beginning to wonder why?
@ the bolded above, there's clearly no rules which states a youth player should go on several loans before earning a position in the first team. Except I am greatly mistaking, how many loan move did bellerin, stones, eric dier, sterling e.t.c embark on before getting a real go at the first team?
I sincerely feel this akes loan deal is fvcked up!!! Especially when we still have a cvnt like baba in the team. Ake may not be an Ashley Cole or an Alaba or kimmich burr he should have been in this team!
I just even dey see this.
I've never been against youth integration. My only point is that it has to be the right youth at the right time.
None of those players you mentioned there are academy products for their respective teams. And all of those guys are exceptional. Bellerin in particular is one of the fastest players in the world. He is actually faster than Usain Bolt over 40 metres. You cant compare these prodigies to the likes of Ake and Boga because they are all youth in the same way you cant compare Ronaldo and Messi to Graziono Pelle because they are adults.
You don't see me complaining about Zouma or Lukaku or Courtois. Coman is the same age as Solanke but they are not mates on the pitch.
I just don't buy into playing youth players because they are our youth players.
I bet Rashford was on Van Basten's level when he started banging it in for United
Rashford got his chance because LVG's hand was forced by injury. Granted he took his chance well but Rashford was really the only success of the myriads of players that he gave chances. Ask about Blackett, Mcnair etc
You may not have noticed, but the first thing united have done this season was sign a 34 year old striker to join Rooney and Martial. Not everybody is as idealistic as you.
Ake has to be on Alaba and Kimmich's level to displace Baba Rahman that is not on Juwon Oshinawa's level.....Haha,fear God ooo
Ake is not better than Rahman. I don't know why you guys keep repeating this crap. Ake is not even a left back. He's good defensively but that's it. Hear him
“I’ve never played left-back constantly so I’m not used to getting forward,” Ake admitted recently. “If you play four or five games in a row your fitness gets better and you understand the game more and more every time. That is important for my development.
Baba Rahman has had 1 season where he didn't even play half the time and the other half he was having to adapt to an incredibly different kind of league. Ake and Baba are age mates...but not in football experience
The pix below was the line up for a U-19 cup game in 2007,Both teams were at the same level,3 went on to play for Bayern .. Sane,Meyer and all other Schkale young wizards were flogged home and away by our boys,I think the one in England was even 6-0 sef just weeks before 5 of those boys went ahead to light up Santiago Imagine Sane in our youth setup, are you telling me he is not good enough for our team? Or replacing Pedro with Sane will reduce our chances to win a trophy? Madness
I don't think you understand the fundamental difference between reserve team footy in Germany and in England.
In England the reserve teams play other reserve teams. Junior playing Junior and that's it. In Germany and in Spain, the reserve teams of the big clubs actually play in profssional leagues. The level of competition is already very different and the scope for growth is far larger. That is one of the reasons why young English players are stagnating...they generally lack experience.
Also you canot compare the pressure at Schalke to the pressure at Chelsea. You think Conte has time to be raising youth?
Ibime: Ake = 1 year in Prem plus 1/2 year in Championship
Kimmich = 1 year in Bundesliga 2 and 1 year in Bundesliga 3
It's difficult to have a decent conversation with a liar. Before Ake's stint at Watford, his total experience in professional football was 5 games during a 1 month stint at Reading.. How this translates to a 1/2 year in the Championship is beyond me.
I don't want to weaken the debate by arguing semantics here, but please you need to stop telling porkies.
Every young player that makes the first team first starts as a squad player. No phucking big team earmarks a place in the first 11 for them. Over the season they take their chances like Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Kimmich etc.
After Bournemouth he will still come and be a squad player. You are yarning opaks about him getting more experience when phucking Rahman and Mikel are still being relied on. Are we discussing the needs of Chelsea or another club?
Be that as it may, Harry Kane played 5 full seasons of professional footy before he got a chance at Spurs, Dier had roughly around 2 full seasons, Kimmich IS NOT A BAYERN ACADEMY PLAYER.
Ake has had 1 full season and he did well. Unlike most of his Chelsea colleagues, he has now been given the opportunity to shine at 2 EPL clubs. The fact that Chelsea are actively looking to test him in the EPL suggests that this could be one for the future. I cannot fault this 2nd loan. Let him shine again then come back. Ake needs minutes right now. And he will not have gotten those minutes either at LB or in Midfield with us this season
Its not a bad idea sending him out on loan to develop as a 'Midfielder' and not a Left back . .
Also this could go bad and Howe may well play him as left back more than midfield as risk of losing him. Most managers will not depend on loanees to make their season. .
Its not such a bad call. Free emenalo this time. .
It may not work out at midfield at Bournemouth. It may not even work out at LB for him. But this is where Nathan must earn his stripes. He has to somehow fight his way into contention there. Bournemouth are a better club than Watford. He is now being tested at a higher level than last season. I think either way Nathan has been given a great opportunity to shine with this move.
Griffon: Chelsea are reportedly set to complete the signing of Leicester City star N’Golo Kante. Meanwhile, what's up with Costa? I read somewhere that the ninja has handed in a transfer request.
Ibime: There is no doubt that Conte knows what he is missing. . . . that has never been the question. . . . the question has always been that Emenalo has no clue what he is missing. . . . and who could possible help from his development squad.
All this one na English.
With Matic and Kante there, Ake would still be next in line. Conte no send Fabregas.
Ake is currently the best left-back at Chelsea. All this grammar no go help matter. Did Emenalo not want him to develop as a midfielder when he sent him to Watford to play Left-Back last season?
A young player would take any position to establish himself in a top team and does not care whether it is midfield or left back.
If you ask the boy today to stay and take the no3 shirt, he would prefer that than going on loan to play midfield. Alaba did not argue when he got chance to establish himself at Bayern as a left-back, neither does Kimmich complain when he is played right-back. They both see themselves as midfielders.
Ake came to Chelsea as a centre-back sef, then learned midfield and left-back work. It is not like he is picky.
Ake is currently our no1 leftback. Chelsea does not have a leftback solution within the team other than him. What are we discussing here, Chelsea's needs or the needs of another club?
Emenalo is just trying to protect his flop signing Baba Rahman.
I don't see how Emenalo is trying to protect Rahman...it's not as if Rahman even sees first team shirt.
Anyway I don't think Ake is ready to be our first choice left back. Contrary to what a lot of people think on here, he wasn't actually that good at Watford. It wasn't that difficult to win young player of the year at Watford when he was actually the only player in the first team under the age of 25..plus Watford finished 14th in the league.
That being said...he is a very good player for his age.
Comparing Alaba and Kimmich to Ake makes zero sense at all. Not only were those two far ahead of Ake in terms of talent, both actually had several seasons of professional football under their belt before entering the Bayern 1st team.
Kimmich had 2 full seasons in the German equivalent of the Championship and League 1. Alaba had 3 full seasons professional footy in Germany as well as some Austrian Bundesliga experience before he was ready for the 1st team at Bayern
If your argument is that Ake should be allowed to play any position just so he can get a shirt in the first team, I dont know what to say to that.
What I do know though is that Ake has indicated that he wants to play at Central midfield and believes that Conte(and Emenalo) feel the same way. I think that there is simply no space for him in the midfield with us right now, and cannot fault a decision to send him out on loan to develop elsewhere. At this stage of his career, he needs regular minutes to keep developing, not piecemeal 5 minutes here or there.
Ibime: I knew you'd quote this. . . . infact it proves the exact opposite, namely Conte does not know the boy, has never spoken to him and Emenalo made the call.
Hear him. . . .
"I think he wants to see me play a season there in the Premier League. . ."
Ake THINKS. . . . he is only second guessing because he has never spoken to Conte. He is surmising that Conte does not know him, and will be looking at him this season.
"The manager has been in discussions with the technical director (Michael Emenalo) at Chelsea. After this season, we'll see how I get on"
That is the decision maker there . . . Michael Emenalo. . . . FRONT AND CENTRE. . . . Conte will naturally discuss with Emenalo if there are any development players that Emenalo thinks is ready. It is up to Emenalo to put forward the names. In Ake's case, Emenalo does not think he is better than our current options and advised this course of action. Conte does not know Ake.
Even if Kante signs today, Ake is my third choice DM and first choice LB. If you sign a leftback, he is 2nd choice left-back and 3rd choice DM. Whichever way you cut it, INCOMPETENCE is Emenalo's name.
Well, obviously Emenalo is responsible for finding homes for loanees so no surprises there. But like I said earlier, there is simply no way that Conte doesn't have a good idea about what he wants and what he's missing from the squad...especially in midfield, otherwise he would not be chasing Kante and Naingollan even before he resumed at Chelsea.
From the looks of it, it's like both the boy and the club see his future at midfield. Eddie Howe said it. Seems like Conte and Emenalo see it the same way. Now considering that Ake has only played 1 full season of professional football in his career, and mostly at left back, why is it incompetent to send him off on loan to develop in that position?
We currently have Matic, Mikel, Fabregas, and RLC in the first team. Oscar could potentially be playing in CM too this season(if he's not sold). We're not in Europe this season and so there is less scope for rotation. Also there is going to be a lot of pressure on Conte to significantly improve on a 10th place finish and get us back in to the top 4, so I doubt that he would have been keen to train up a rookie in that position this season.
Either way, if Ake stayed, there is no way he would have got minutes in Central midfield.
I find it quite interesting that Ake would have been your 3rd choice midfielder when he has barely played there for most of his career, and the matches he did play in that position were not shown on telly, so you would probably have been unable to watch him do so anyway....
Yet the guy whose job it is to follow the lad's career is incompetent for sending him out on loan to develop as a midfielder.
I quite like the idea of gabriel barbosa as well. He's a tricky little striker kind of in the Aguero mould. The main problem with these brazilians is their love for partying and faaji lifestyle. This lad is only 19 and has already covered himself in tats and barbed a funny hairstyle.
If Conte could figure out how to control the exuberant Pogba, he may be able to handle 'Gabigol' though. Let's see what happens.
Bournemouth loanee Nathan Ake says he has joined the Cherries from parent club Chelsea to gain Premier League experience as a central midfielder.
Ake, 21, played predominantly as a left-back during 28 appearances on loan at Watford last season.
New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is behind the idea of a midfield role for the Netherlands Under-21 international.
"To get an eye on how I cope, I think he wants to see me play a season there in the Premier League," Ake said.
"The manager has been in discussions with the technical director (Michael Emenalo) at Chelsea. After this season, we'll see how I get on," he told BBC Radio Solent.
Nihilist: Eddie Howe's interview today was quite interesting. He explains that Bournemouth signed Ake due to his versatility. He highlights the fact that Ake played 28 games at LB for Watford, but points out that Ake's best position is in central midfield.
This could suggest that the boy has been sent out to develop further as a midfielder. Considering that we are definitely in the market for midfielders, it's very possible that Conte has already evaluated him and found him wanting - Afterall, why would Conte be chasing the likes of Naingollan if he hadn't already evaluated the quality of midfielders already on ground?
Of course Emenalo detractors would argue that Ake could have been given a chance in midfield this season, but considering that we have Matic and Fab in place, with Kante(possibly) to come, I genuinely think that this is a great opportunity for the boy to get some substantial EPL experience in central midfield under minimal pressure. Hope it goes well for him.

raumdeuter: US isa unique and very huge country. There is no way Police can cover the whole land mass where people live
Unlike Western Europe Generally there are no guns so there are little risk of smuggling into UK. In America we have Mexico just below which is half controlled by a drug cartel. Surely Guns would still come into US and get to bad guys and would make good law abiding citizens lame ducks just sitting there waiting to be picked off.
If you are living in a rural area where the Police is 3hrs away, How do you protect yourself or do you just wait till invaders have their fill with you and your family?
There are illegal guns in the UK. A lot gaan. Around 10 years ago, I used to roll in the outer periphery of a circle that had access to stainless, mostly smuggled from eastern Europe.
See the ishon that was caught on some guys only this year
Imagine these ones on the streets of a country where even kakapo shotgun is highly regulated.
The point here is illegal guns will always enter, the only difference is that these illegal guns will generally be concentrated in the hands of relatively few gangsters, many of which are known at some level to the police anyway, and thus easier to manage.
In the UK, gangsters don't just shoot anybody. Anybody that uses his flesh to stop a bullet most likely had it coming.
Unlike the US now, where any fool with a chip on his shoulder can carry an assault rifle to a bar, school, or church and just light it up. Any donkey can decide he has had a bad day and come home to waste his wife and kids. Any dolapo can decide that he has a different political ideology and go and blast 5 cops to hell.
When the cops know that there are fewer people with guns aroun, they can afford to be less jumpy. This is not even dem say. That's exactly what happened in Australia after an American style mass shooting https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_Arthur_massacre_(Australia)
The Aussie government immediately started buying back their citizens guns and severly tightened up gun laws in 1996
In 2011, this is what Havard Researchers has to say: “it would have been difficult to imagine more compelling future evidence of a beneficial effect.”
