Doslop:De lima black? Carlos Black? Cafe black? Are you kidding me? ![]() Alves Black? Please don't destroy this debate. Brazilians are so mixed that they cannot be described as Black. If you remove Brazilians from your post, you realise that you have nothing. No real black names. How was makalele technical or viera? Or gilberto Silva? Or Drogba? Please don't dumb down this debate abeg |
Diademk07:Don't call North African a Black man abeg. Zidane and Benzema are Arab not black. |
elampiro:5 of the 11 players that lined up against Russia were black. 3 of them were defenders. One was a Winger 3 of the current German team are black. Two are defenders, one is a Winger Half the Portuguese team is black. The black players are either defenders, defensive midfielders or wingers... Czech Republic has a black player...he is a defender. I could go on and on. The current Dutch team is 50% black. They are mostly defenders, defensive midfielders and wingers. France team has many black players...mostly defensive midfielders and defenders again Look at the black players for Belgium There's a reason this stereotype is repeated everywhere you look. |
iPopAlomo:That's the exact reason I didn't reply her. I couldn't find a point to her posts. |
Doslop:If you don't understand English, just jog on. It's not by force to contribute |
chrisley024:have you watched 'The Prestige'? Blatter just telling you what everybody always supected....and Why Barca always gets easy draws |
chrisley024:Who nor know that one before....you think Uefalona is a joke term? ![]() |
GBR1:We can't assess the level of initial talent and training of you and your friends, but we can look at the professional football world where the players have all undergone more or less similar amounts of training...and have largely been categorised via the recruitment process. Holland is a country known for it's emphasis on technical training and ability. When you look at the white players to emerge from holland recently, you have artists like Robben, Sneijder, VdV etc... When you look at the black players to emerge from Holland, you have the likes of Davids, Seedorf, Martins Indi,Hasselbaink. The first two did have considerable technical skill, but they are largely remembered for their power, stamina and hot shots. Pataki will tell you that there are a large population of dutch born blacks in the eredivisie, but they generally tend to be in the same mould as the second group. Just look at Depay for instance. ![]() I have explained how this works already due to talent. How did the Europeans come to dominate football today when South American countries were the initial kings? There was an incredible influx of great players and footballing talents to Europe and the Europeans leagues became better coupled with an advantage in financial standings and everything footballing aspect simply improved.Europe has been dominating football since the early days of the sport. It's nothing new. South America were not 'Initial kings'. Uruguay won the 1st ever world cup in 1930....Italy won the next two world cups. Europe had more world cup wins than South America as far back as the 80s sef...so that theory is dead in the water...especially as the great South Americans of the early days of the sport mostly played in South America. Aren't there even more black players in Africa than France? Why do France a country who has fewer blacks than Africa end up producing far better black players than even the black African countries?Don't compare European born blacks to African blacks who haven't had the same level of training. Compare European born black footballers to European born white footballers who've had the same training and the difference is clear. Look at the boateng family. 2 Good players - Germany took the defender, and left Kevin Prince for Ghana. Why?( He's not technical enough). Infact almost all the blacks in Germany's first team - Rudiger, Tah, Boateng....are defenders. Look at England. 5 of the players that started for England vs Russia are Black. 3 were defenders.1 was a winger. Why? Look at Portugal - That one is even so deeply divided. Black players = Athletes and/or Ishon. Whites = Artists. Why is it that Black players in Europe are either Brutish defenders, Brutish/Strong/Stamina defensive midfielders, or pacy wingers? Why is there no black Pirlo? Where is the Black Ozil? You are reinforcing what I've said. Jay jay and Kanu were simply more talented folks than the rest and this coupled with their technique made them better players and those who tried to replicate their footballing abilities but failed were simply not talented enough.Jay jay and Kanu were freaks and outliers...in a nation of pace and power, they were born with different other skills. They weren't fast or strong...they were completely different. The reaseon why we cant replicate them is that they are not usual occurrences here. Go to Europe and white JayJay and Kanu's boku. This is just standard. At the last commonwealth games, I was watching England vs Austraiia table tennis doubles - ALl four of the players involved were Chinese. Different skills for different races. Thats a fact. |
lordfalcao:Last night was 90 minutes of Italian counter attacking |
nateevs: ![]() Naingollan was statistically the worst central midfielder on the pitch for both teams. He had the worst pass completion percentage, fewest touches and attempted fewer passes of the entire Belgium back 6. When you attempt only 26 passes as a CM, and can only complete 80% of them without producing a Key Pass...Nihilist will call that a passing deficiency. I cannot imagine that guy in a pivot with Matic. We would never create anything. If we wanted someone who can put himself about whilst being unable to pass the ball with accuracy...we should have just kept Ramires jejely. Witsel recycled possesion well and played some nice short passes. Perhaps the issue here is that I expected a bit more from him given the usual hype here. Offensively, there was nothing to write home about for me. Defensively he wasnt too bad, but still allowed Giacherrini steal a March on him with that run that led to that goal. Giacherrini was also playing in central midfield. So yeah imo Witsel gave an average performance and nothing really stood out. He was just meh. Considering Mikel has more or less elevated playing averagely to an art form, I didnt see anything from that game time suggest that Witsel is an upgrade on Mikel. It's only one game though...so it's not enough to form a strong opinion, but that was my initial assessment. Btw, I thought Lukaku played rubbish yesterday and his miss was shocking, but DeBruyne was even worse in my opinion. Belgium just didn't get the ball up to Lukaku quick enough for most of thr game. Hazard was anonymous in the first half. Fellaini was dire in the number 10 role and KDB was surprisingly bad even though he created chances. Martens was very impressive during his cameo. One thing I know is that Lukaku flourishes with a tricky winger and first time through balls. I remember he gave an interview somewhere when he talked about his budding partnership with deulofeu at everton, before Martinez screwed it up there. I think that a trio of Hazard KDB Mertens behind lukaku should do wonders. KDB in the hole please...he looked so wasted on the flanks. |
Bonnuci though That guy can see your future. General overseer. I don't know ifconte can replicate that counter attacking formation at Chelsea though. We don't have that libero type defenderived with the eyes and feet to spot and ping those balls. Eric Dier and Vertoghne are two epl CBS who I know can do that. Maybe Emre Can They say Stones is in that category too, but I've only seen him play nonsense so I don't know |
Naingollan can't pass to save his life. Witsel = Mikel in a blonde wig. Too early to decide from one game, but that's what it looked like to me. Lukaku played rubbish today. |
Ibime:This is the first time that I've understood where you're coming from. But Ibime be honest. Is there any opinion I've made that you haven't abused me for? ![]() Why are you taking this thing so personal? Mate its football and that's it. I'm not mocking you. We've had our arguments in the past but surely you should know that there is no animosity from my side na? Oya I promise that from henceforth I will not say anything that would come across as clowning or mocking you. I am sorry |
FBS:To Witsel. First time I will see him play tonight. And I've heard sooooooo much about him. |
Ibime:Then you never ready. Because 10 of you no reach to tell Nihilist what he can or cannot post about. I will make whatever football related posts I want to and refer to whatever football related convo I want to. If you like hold high tension wire...thats on you nigga. I'm done with you. |
GBR1:I think you're the one who is getting confused. Technique covers EVERY aspect of ball manipulation. Slide tackling is as much a subset of Technique as is Shooting in my opinion. Generally speaking most black\African players lack excellent technique, even the ones born abroad. If you do a top 10 players of every technical skill known in footy, from dribbling to tackling, shooting to heading, passing to freekicks, I can bet you the list will be heavily dominated by Europeans/South Americans If you do a top 10 of players with athletic attributes, it will be dominated by Black's and Africans Thats just it. JayJay wasn't a physical force of nature. He was a bundle of skills. That's what made him and Kanu standout in a National team that is just known more for being fast and strong. That's the reason why we can't replicate those two. Oruma tried his hardest to be JJjnr...he just couldn't...because those two were exceptions not the norm to Africa |
Trying to start an argument that I'm not even interested in. OK Jack Cork started 28 games for a relegation candidate...he is Chelsea quality. Happy? ![]() Nobody mentioned your name. I referred to a discussion that I was involved in. Why do you have to take everything so goddam personal? Like seriously why? Once someone has a different opinion to you, you begin to hyperventilate and start talking about how you're better than everybody in life. We know you're not. ![]() I will say what I want, when I want, how I want . Don't scatter the thread. Just move on if you see something you don't like....as long as you're not insulted This is just tiring now... |
GBR1 I disagree. I think that technique is a natural occuring talent otherwise there would be more than 1 Messi and 1 Ronaldo in this world. The thing that elevates these guys is their exceptional technique. I can guarantee that if you go to to the same Argentine slum that Messi was born in, and pick another 10 dwarves from an early age and take then to la masia, you will not be able to replicate Messi. You can practice and train for the next 100 years and still never get there. Then you get the likes of JayJay that grew up playing football on the streets and selling oranges, with the ability to drimble a whole team from back to front and back. I think that Europe and South America have higher distribution of technically gifted players in a way that Africa simply doesn't have. |
Dadehmola:Demola can you tell me what I've done today? ![]() See me see wahala o. I was talking about Oscar and dude jumped in. That's cool. I was talking about Modric and referring to a conversation in which there were several people on both sides of the debate, and BOOM! Insult. I didn't mention names or abuse any person. But when someone who follows my account and who I've seen viewing my diary thread turns round to accuse me of being obsessed with him...I don't know what to say. I really don't. I'm not sure if you know this guy's MO. If we rewind back to that Emenalo debate, you will see that the guy jumped in with insults, and asked not to be disturbed....when he wasn't invited in the first place! Even when I said, "no vex, please be going I will discuss with others"...he refused to be 'undisturbed' and started asking people not to 'educate that nigga' ![]() Maturity my azz...what you're seeing here is a classic display of mental illness. Check the history of the thread, and you will see he has tried it with everybody...from Nateevs to Griffon to Bigkesh...and many others. Dude wants to be number 1 on the thread...which is fine by Nihilist. All I want to do is post...so in the words of the eternal Jay-Z...."Can I live?" ![]() |
sleekdot:Mehn o sun mi o. Though I hear Pep wants stones, so hopefully we aren't tempted to sign that overhyped crap |
Nihilist:When people try to make themselves look important. Nihilist is only obsessed with football. ![]()

"After all the injuries ... something like this happens. I can't play 90 or 120 minutes yet but I'm feeling like I can play.-Bastian Schweinsteiger. Dude can't even play 90 minutes anymore. I remember at the start of the season, when there were calls to sign this pensioner and Jack Cork(who isn't even 1st choice at Swansea) as the solutions to our midfield problems. Mehn...Hindsight is a wonderful thing |
sleekdot:Seems like it. There's a lot of interest in the upgraded version of Ramires. Have you seen his legs though?! That man does NOT miss leg day. |
Seems like we can't even discuss football on the thread without self important demi-gods trying to make the convo about them...even when their names are not mentioned. Mehn most definitely not today. Trash belongs in the bin. |
Liverpool join the fray for Kante? Na wa o. Cue the scenes when the man can't handle the pressure of a big money move and flops next season.... |
Ibime:Ughhh... Such classlessness. Not today nigga. |
Roma reportedly want to sign Wijnaldum as a replacement for Pjanic. Meanwhile Manyo and Chelsea are reportedly bidding up to 80m pounds for the likes of Pogba and Verrati. SMH for English clubs |
FBS:Wish I could watch the game. My manager dey give me close marking for here ![]() |
Chelsea are preparing a bid of £24million for Napoli centre-back Kalidoi Koulibaly, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. New boss Antonio Conte is already working on player recruitment with a centre-half top of his shopping list. -Sky Sports. That's interesting because Napoli's owner is already threatening to fine Koulibaly 'millions of pounds' for wanting to leave. Personally I don't think the drama is worth it....for a player who will be absent for up to a month at crucial times every two years. |
I've just seen that Modric had the 2nd highest pass completion rate in the whole la liga last season and made the la liga AND Champions league team of the season. Not bad for a player who's been described as lacking first time vision. |
AdeLaNa1:You were right. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/jun/13/fifa-17-new-engine-new-story-mode-and-five-more-key-additions |
