Is anybody watching Socceraid? See as Ronaldinho just dey Nutmeg Phil Neville ![]() |
Abeg make we move on with this matter. Bigkesh FBS Dadehmola. Only the future will tell. |
FBS:Firstly, you don't know what or who I haven't seen, so save the speculation. Secondly, Your Bruma argument is in more disarray than Buhari's front teeth. Bruma is 4 years older than Chambers. When he was Chambers age, he was playing for a club that was regularly facing relegation in the Bundesliga. He made his debut for Holland in 2010. In 6 full years, the man has only managed 13 caps. Chambers by contrast copped 3 caps in just 1 year. Bruma has now finally found his level in the weakest of Europe's top 5 leagues. I'm sure there was a point in your post somewhere, I just don't fancy dumpster diving on this lovely Sunday. Let's leave this discussion because it's not going anywhere. We will most likely not sign the lad, and Bruma will continue to occasionally feature for Netherlands. It's not like we can change each other's minds anyway. |
bigkesh:Of course having a youngster with experience is one of the major reasons I want Chambers. It's not easy to rack up almost 60 EPL appearances before the age of 21. To put it in perspective, he has more 1st team appearances at a higher level of football than Zouma did before he joined us. Rashford is a good player no doubt, but his exposure to the first team was mainly due to injuries. United's reported pursuit of Ibrahimovic suggests that even the United hierachy dont really have that much faith in him short term. Debuchy lost his place to via Injury to Chambers. Same thing happened to put Bellerin in that 1st team spot. It makes neither Debuchy and Chambers bad players. Infact, the fact that Chambers was actually nominated for Golden Boy awards 2014 shows that there is a lot of potential there. So if you cant see the potential in a 21 year old with almost 90 first team appearances at the highest level of competition in just 2 years, then I suggest a trip to the opticians There is no way Chambers is not better than Kalas. Are you kidding me? ![]() If anybody wanted Gini Wijnaldium out of the club, it cannot be for football reasons. You mean that the Man that Skysports were calling the signing of the season? or Maybe somebody else? |
FBS:I'm wondering if you know that Bruma left the club 3 years ago. But how is Chambers not better than Bruma sef? Did Bruma even make up to 5 appearances for Chelsea? Chambers was playing first team football for a regular top 4 team only last season. |
bigkesh:Chambers is better than anyone currently in our academy. He has almost 2 full seasons of EPL footy under his belt, and only turned 21 this year. I'm not one of those people that would shout 'I know footy more than you', but I do have an understanding of the game that is possibly different to most people on here, and I think that's because I attend a lot of live matches from the EPL down to League 2, and I tend to see things slightly differently to the average Nairaland pundit. Maybe that's why I didnt agree with the Emenalo thing...and if I remember correctly, you ran away when asked for a fact-based assessment of what the man actually does. I suspect that the same thing would happen if you were asked to tender an opinion on Chambers outside the 'We want a big name' argument. |
FBS:Eeyin le mo egbon. ![]() 2016 l'awa. Na Kevin Hart dey reign now, not Papi Luwe and the gang. |
SIRcumalot: ![]() You're absolutely right. I googled the other name and saw that the guy did some kind of babalawo style comedy. FBS why didnt you tell me you were in a babalawo in training? I was wondering who would be defending that extremely dry comedian, not knowing that you were defending the grand patron of koto aiye humour |
FBS:Yeah 2012, he was the MC at Naija Corner at Notting Hill. The guy was boring jare. Is he your relation? this one wey you dey defend am like Volton |
FBS:Ah an. Boda Gbenga....so you be Chelsea fan too! I saw you at the Naija Corner at Notting Hill Carnival a few years ago....you were boring then bruv...just like when I used to watch you on TV |
Dadehmola:Why is this man quoting the game here? |
pamcode: ![]() I'm quite happy with my current career choice. Who knows what the future may hold though? I may eventually decide to chance a career in distinctly unfunny and uninteresting standup comedy...Like Gbenga Adeboye the 1st |
This is why I said this Hodgson is an olodo. Kane playing right wing. Practically nobody in central midfield with Alli playing in left midfield. When I saw Milner actually overlapping his fullback, I gave up for the team. Woy olodo hodgson |
Pataki:Which rant did I rant now, ehn Uncle Pataki? Anyway, dude can i get like 90 pounds please sir. I want to buy school shoe. ![]() Inner sacool tins. |
Pataki:This humble brag had nothing to do with football...but thanks for letting us know that you roll with the rich. |
BossKratos:Haye is finished. Tony Bellew has actually said it all. Go on Boxrec and look at the opponents Mark De Mori had been fighting and you will realise that the Haymaker is just looking for that last payday. If he can manage to get Tyson Fury or AJ into the ring, then he will call it a day and retire. |
Griffon:I particularly love them for their mobility. They are smallish and tenacious, and can quickly recover to their starting position following a turnover upfield...on like Matic. That stretcher yarns is just the goddam truth. I mean just look at this Kante's yams ![]() https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CjtiP2OWUAAG5rw.jpg WTF! ![]() Provided with the right motivation and proper tactical instruction, I believe Matic would bounce back. You can see the ability right there, he has what it takes to become the best CM in the world, he just needs a manager.I think he has the Ability to be the best DM in the world...He is a rubbish CM. he is too slow and too ponderous, and his ball control and passing is naff. I remember almost crying myself to sleep almost every matchday after Matic believed his own hype and started to think that Nemanja was Serbian for Andrea Pirlo. When the boy sits and breaks up the play, he is world class. It's when he tries to do anything else that he ends up looking like an atilogwu dancer trying to moonwalk. Win the ball back, pass it to Hazard or Fab, take the odd long shot, and just keep it moving for me. JT extended his stay with us one more year and equally took a pay cut. Let's just have our leader around. Such figure have a way of motivating the young guns.He can lead from the backroom in some sort of coaching or advisory role. The man's legs are gone. He's almost 40 years old and the natural ageing process has taken it's toll, even before you consider how Terry would brutalise his body for the cause. Let him go jare. Your proposed Bonnuci has leadership qualities in buckets. I mean this guy beat up a dude armed with a gun who tried to rob him. That's gangster. Ivanovic? I'm quite undecided on this one hence I dropped him into the second eleven.Bran should take his big nyash out of the club jare...unless he stays as a Centreback. Anytime I remember this thing, I feel like crying. https://thumbs.gfycat.com/EasygoingSlimFrilledlizard-size_restricted.gif It's one thing to get beaten at pace by the Monteros of this world...but when they can drimble you like this from a standing position, you might as well just put on an Andrea Bocelli CD, cos it's time to say goodbye. |
olabode89:Mehn I'm not a big enough fan of UFC to know all the contestants and really follow them, so I cant really answer that. Boxing is my preferred combat sport |
Griffon:That's a tasty looking squad right there. IMO Ivanovic has to go, as well as JT. I'm not feeling Matic either sef. I would love a Kante- Coquelin Pivot though. Absolutely Looove it. Roman please make it happen! |
sylvalord:https://i53.tinypic.com/15guvqe.gif Make una fear God o. ![]() |
raumdeuter:PFA is based on votes. Whoscored is purely on Stats. And Airmark was arguing based on STATS. So is Whoscored still one of the most credible websites for STATS? yes or no? ![]() Won ti mu eyin mejeji po. ![]() |
Dadehmola:That's why I said dayo was right. He ran away from the whoscored analysis to argue Sqwuaka where ofcourse he had a point. Except the real argument was based on whoscored ratings... |
Dadehmola:Dayo is actually right. What he did was show how Airmark's stats in isolation dont really mean anything. Rio Ferdinand at QPR should reasonably be expected to post higher Interception and Clearance stats than John Terry, because QPR concede far more chances and opportunities to their opponents than Chelsea do, hence their defenders should be busier. However if you check their overall defensive and and overall total scores, where all the individual stats have been evaluated within context of team strength, opposition strength, etc, John Terry should always come out on top...which in actual fact, he did. Airmark only posted those stats to further wind A40 up though...his argument is really based on the overall ratings which he has posted several times over...and it must be said, he caught A40 hands and pants down there. Dayo is only using diversionary tactics to try and save the day. If you remove those dodgy stats, Airmark's argument is still airtight and he has the evidence to prove it.

RDM signs for Aston-Villa. As this is the 2nd championship club he is managing, I think it's safe to assume that this his natural level. |
diggz:I didn't show solidarity with anybody. I only pointed out that some people were using the opportunity to bash for the sake of bashing...without contributing even a single nugget if information here. Clashes are a necessary part of the interaction here...but let it not overshadow why we all login into this board. .to discuss football. To me, that guy has not made a single valid point, but he has made his points, and I think it's the fact the he is able to articulate and stand byou his points, wrong or not, that Dayo and I appreciate. The herd nentality on in the sports section sometimes can be so annoying |
dmcdad:To be honest, I don't. Too many cowards are using the opportunity to take cheap shots at the guy. I can understand if you are contesting a point, and use killer jabs to knock your wisdom into your opponents head. Then you have the likes of joeace who never actually make any point of note, but tend to quickly rush in to sneakily bash whoever is getting bashed. Just go through the entire thing. Dahdemola has been arguing about LVG with Kagawa. Sinizia was arguing about who signed Herrera. Funlord posted links to a missing article. GBR and Tess have also argued points. The only guy that is just yabbing with no contribution is joeace |
Odunharry:I promote fights. The implication is that both contestants should have a good chance of winning the contest. What we're seeing here however, is multiple people taking turns to hold down and sodomise just one guy. Fair play to him, despite all the phalluses threatening to plug all his holes and even make new ones, he is still shouting and struggling whenever he comes up for air. Nihilist productions has a reputation for delivering high quality brawls. We leave the cheap and lurid gangban9 smut to Raumdeuter entertainment. |
SPace Booked like my name was Buki reading a Book in a Bukka |
BossKratos:I don't think Rashford would play in the number 9 position, barring injuries and suspension to Kane and Sturridge. In the second half against Australia, Woy moved him to play wide right, and that's where I see him any getting game time, as a sub, If it were up to me, I would play a flexible 352 formation like this. .............Hart........... ...... Smalling.....Dier........Stones ...........Clyne\Walker....Milner...Alli.............Bertrand ....Rooney ......Kane\Sturridge Vardy This easily morph into a 442 diamond with Dier stepping up to midfield and the wingbacks dropping back against teams with strong midfields, Or a 433 with Vardy and Rooney going wide. I definitely agree that this team has potential. But England has been having potential since the dinosaurs ruled the earth. ![]() |
diggz:Mangala is not from a highly ranked league anyway. And the jury is still out on Otamendi, though it's looking like he's not worth the amount he went for. |
Christensen:My point is that we don't know for sure because he has never been tested at Chelsea's level Azpilicueta was an average player from an average club When he signed for us. Cahill signed from Bolton who would be relegated that seasom. Where did Ivanovic come from sef? Or Zouma for that matter Yet these guys have won almost everything thing there is to win with us, and played integral roles too. I don't believe that one of the highest ranked players(by whoscored) in thr Bundesliga is not good enough for a Chelsea place. I really don't. |
Griffon:I dont see how the Stats can lie here. If you concede fewer goals than your opponents over the course of the season, then you have a better defence than your opponents...even if you chop 6-0 in a game. Case in question, despite taking that 6-0 drubbing, Arsenal still conceded the 4th fewest goals that season. If you go back to 2011/2012 when Manyoo chopped 6 from City, they still finished the league with the 2nd best defence in the league. So one or two off games clearly do not make a defence 'intrinsically mediocre' to paraphrase. Speaking of world class CBs, ATM's Jose Gimenez can cut it in this league. I've been scouting this ninja for seasons and I tell you, he's one of the best. I heard Zidane is weighing up a bid for him already.Personally, I feel that any defender would look great once Simeone gets his hands on him. ATM are a defensive side by default. It's difficult to tell if it's the case of the defender looking good because of the system, or the system looking good because of the defender with Atletico. My main concern is the cost. Leicester had a very profound effect on me this season, they've changed my outlook to transfer signings and players. I don't know if it's because I used to follow the club, or if its the shock of this anomalous season, because ATM have been doing the same thing on a bigger scale and I just didnt take as much notice. Anyway, I am no longer convinced that big name signings matter. I've just witnessed Wes Morgan and Danny Simpson win the league. My way of thinking now is that the system beats individuals. The system trumps midfield. The system doesn't need defenders. All you need are one or two very potent goal threats. For all Kante's hard work, Vardy and Mahrez were the ones who really won the league. Everybody else could afford to just sit back and defend because they had Vardy and Mahrez to take that 1 chance when it appeared. That's just one system. I think Sir Rednose did it too by creating a system to bypass midfield and give the ball to RVP. I think we had it too when our attack was still functioning. So i'm thinking - create the system, feed it cheap but decent players, and win the title. Easier said than done I guess...but that's currently where my head is at. |
