diggz: This really cracked me up
I get you bro and I hear you clearly. And, you are definitely correct about me using my opinion to judge him.
Well I hope he eventually proves you right at the end of the day but, I had rather have him do it else where.
What we need is to give some of our young players a chance to play for the senior team not buying more new young players to come and occupy useful space.
I am sure you are still gutted over how lukaku(especially) and kdb was frustrated out of CFC. We will keep see more of how players run for their life's and careers. Because if we have a Brazilian right back in Wallace then we go buying chambers to occupy space. Or when we have traore we head out to spend cash on a useless player like morata
Please,if we must buy at all we should get quality players at all cost,if not we should put in our young boys and start playing some of them. Lukaku and Mata to be honest. KDB I didn't really rate cos I didn't see a lot of him Yeah you're right about the youngsters. Christensen(the real one ) is coming back with Ake so Hopefully that bodes well. I'm probably the only one on the thread that seems interested in what Papy has to offer. The guy seems to have done quite well in Germany but nobody wants to even know him. |

I don't see chambers as a 2,not 4,not 5 and definitely not 6.
I can't remember watching a game he played and impressed.
Griffon was only trying to be polite when he called chambers uber-useless. Chambers na wetin actually wetin Warri dey call, OTELE!! That is your opinion which obviously counts. Griffon's opinion also counts. All the stats I posted earlier was just to try and defend my own opinion that Chambers who featured in the Arsenal 1st team before Coq was vital to the team, was also a big part of that defence, particularly in the 1st half of the season. I believe that Chambers can at least be a good squad player for us due to his versatility, and I have no doubt in my mind that he will be a good centre back in future. Let's not discuss opinions, cos as we've seen, that goes nowhere pretty fast |

Griffon: No one is under-rating anyone here, this is fact staring at you brah.
Arsenal's backline has Coquelin to thank for the accolades that keep coming their way. Take the ninja away and you get to see the weak tired side of that goddamned defence. I was waiting for this. In 2013/2014, Arsenal had the 4th best defence in the league. 3rd best in the top 4. Coquelin played less than 90 minutes all season. In 2014/2015 Arsenal had the 3rd best defence in the league. Admitedly Coquelin was imperious for Arsenal, but he got his first start on the 28th of December, Arsenal had the joint 4th defence in the league! In 2015/2016, Coquelin racked up around 1600 minutes...thats roughly around 18 games...or less than half the number of league games in a season. In fact, if you were paying attention to Arsenal this season, you would note that towards tail end of the season, Coq barely featured at all for the gunners....yet they racked up the joint second best defence in the league! I dont think Wenger considers Coquelin as important as you think he is, considering he has reportedly spent around 40m on 2 defensive midfielders within the last 6 months. I wonder why mates don't get to give this ninja the credits he deserve. This guy was the best DM in the league last two seasons followed closely by Matic, raking in the highest number of tackles and interceptions. He's the engine room that covers the arse of Arsenal's backine, dealing with the most difficult jobs whilst leaving his backline with little or no worry at all. Take him away from that team and Mertesacker would remind you how much he lacks pace and athleticism, Koscielny would show you clearly the sorta erratic defender he is and Gabriel, need I say anything about this inexperienced fella? I think I've don justice to this. Like I said, Coq has been removed from the team, and the Arsenal backline was still one of the strongest in the country. This niggas ain't world class and anyone who's riding the bench for 'em must be uber-crap.
Chambers ahead of Stones? That's akin to celebrating Nigeria being ahead of Afghanistan in FIFA ranking. cheesy I can't think of up to 5 world class centre backs in the game today. P.S dont forget that Chambers is a RB that can play at CB and DM. His main competition is really Bellerin at Arsenal. But if he's on the bench for the 2 of the most consistent defenders in the league over the last few years , is that really a bad thing? That being said, I still think that Chambers can do a job for us. A very good job in fact. I also think we should sign that Coquelin. With Wheelchair back, Ramsey, Cazorla, and the 2 new swiss imports, I think that we might be able to tempt him to west london....Wenger should better comply too. Shebi we gave them Cech? |

Griffon: Jesus phucking Christ!
When your competition are Per Mertesacker, Koscielny, Debuchy, Gabriel and Bellerin, yet somehow you're riding the bench, then you're phucking no good. Bar Bellerin, none of these fellas deserve a first team shirt at Chelsea, not to speak of a ninja who rides the bench for them.
Jeez! How can you even consider such figure for Chelsea? When did we become a ground for local rejects? Do you actually have plans for us to relegate next term?
We need leadership in this team and like someone rightly said, this ain't the time to be talking about Reece, Oxford, Calum or some unproven ninja.
Nihilist take time oo. I dont understand how you people underate some players sometimes. Arsenal had the joint second best defence in the league this season. So clearly their back four was faaaar better than ours. Last year they had the 3rd best defence in the league and Chambers was a major part of that. Koscielny is in my opinion one of the best defenders in the league. Chambers was actually first choice RB for Arsenal last season. And like I said, it's not a disgrace to be benched by the best right back currently in the league. This same guy was actually ahead of John stones in England pecking order too. Bellerin just stalled his development. With both Per and Koscielny above 30 now...it's clear that this guy is potentially not far from replacing them. You need to start seeing the big picture. Robert Huth is an example of a player that was sold in summer 2015 by Stoke because he wasnt being benched by freaking Shawcross and Geoff Cameron. See the big picture Sam! |

I have never watched any England game aside from the recent friendly, can't really tell Wilshere from drinkwater without their names written on the back of their shirt. am just trying to help parrotibaba understand why Hodgson picked Wilshere. and am not doing well. Ah I see. Roy already said he was picking Wilshere as far back as March, when the guy had not even returned to training. He claimed it was based on past merit, so I guess that ties into what you said a bit...but if he's picking curentlu unfit players based on past Merit, then I dont understand why Scholes, Gascoigne, and Bobby Charlton haven't made the squad... |

SIRcumalot: Well good luck getting players to commit to the qualifier then. If all they can just do is ignore call up and play well for their league team. Vardy doesn't apply because, Wilshere is going to be a bench warmer which is what would've happen to drinkwater if he was chosen. you really think performance is the only thing that goes into picking a squad ? LOL who would ignore England call up? You think three lions is super Eagles? Even if England is playing San Marino, the stadium is packed, there's massive media coverage on the Internet, in the papers, on TV and Radio. Chocolate bars are sold with the England logo. London busses are adorned with pictures of the players. Maximum exposure. If you're an English player, you can be guaranteed that every big club in the world has a scout at your game. Wheelchair that spent all of last year in the sickbay, cannot dare turn down an England call-up. Nobody would remember he existed if he tried that. |

AdeLaNa1: This is what has killed the English NT over the years. Picking players out of sentiments. Underperforming players make the team. While those ready to fight for the team are left behind.
I fully expect them to flop as usual with that squad... That squad is actually still very solid, even without Drinkwater. The problem is that if Woy couldn't even make the right decision over Drinkwater, can he be trusted to get anything right? There only one natural wide player in that squad sef and based on form, I don't know if sterling should even make the team Townsend was Newcastles best player towards the end of season was dropped for a Rashford that in reality has no real hope of starting in a central striking position with Kane fit. He took a Barkley that has been off-form and unfit all season, and left Mark Noble who captained his team into Europe. Make no mistake. It's not the team that would flop, it's Woy Hodgson |

Vardy, Rooney, Kane, Sturridge and Rashford is overkill. Dem for leave Rashford at home for now. Rooney is unofficially a midfielder these days, as is Dier, so they have the numbers there. He has too much competition at Arsenal. Thats the reason hes not seein shirt. Per/Kolscieny/Gabriel at CB. Bellerin/Debuchy/Jenkinson at Right Back, and no space at all in midfield. That boy is good enough for a squad place at least in a team like ours where he have only one natural rightback and a plethora of CBs that are in the struggle. This guy was a starter for Arsenal until Bellerin came along, and I don't think getting displaced by the best Right Back currently in the league is anything to be ashamed about. I personally like the idea of a Chambers-Zouma pairing very much. That's a good mix of youth, strength, mobility, technical ability and athleticism right there. I also wouldn't mind Jenkinson at all sef come to think about it. |

With the rumours that we're looking to re-sign Lukaku continuing to gather pace, I found this article detailing the brilliance of this young man. Dude is not even up to 23 yet! Why on earth did we ever let this boy go? Romelu Lukaku has now scored 25 goals in 36 games in all competitions for Everton this season and has scored 130 senior career goals, two months before he turns 23. Since moving to England, Lukaku has scored 78 goals. He has only started 136 matches. The Belgian is Everton’s highest goalscorer in a league season since Gary Lineker in 1985/86, and we’re only in March. Finally, Lukaku is the first Everton player under the age of 23 to score 25 goals in a season since Joe Royle in 1968/69.
So, how does that compare with other strikers? Well, is the easy answer. For the longer answer, read on:
Lukaku club goals before age of 23 vs selected others
Ronaldo – 194 Raul – 145 Lionel Messi – 127 Sergio Aguero – 124 *Romelu Lukaku (with two months remaining) – 119* Michael Owen – 111 Cristiano Ronaldo – 97 Fernando Torres – 87 Wayne Rooney – 94 Luis Suarez – 77 David Villa – 70 Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 69 Alan Shearer – 65 Thierry Henry – 57
Lukaku goal record vs European strikers since 2012/13
Cristiano Ronaldo ( 31) – 207 (192 games) Lionel Messi (28) – 195 (189) Zlatan Ibrahimovic (34) – 137 (173) Robert Lewandowski (27) – 133 (183) Luis Suarez (29) – 128 (165) Neymar (24) (since August 2012) – 104 (163) Sergio Aguero (27) – 96 (143) Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (26) – 95 (176) Karim Benzema (28) – 91 (173) Gareth Bale (26) – 79 (155) Romelu Lukaku (22) – 78 (155) Olivier Giroud (29) – 78 (176) Carlos Tevez (32) – 76 (159) Wayne Rooney (30) – 63 (146)
It’s worth pointing out that in those four seasons (including 2015/16) Lukaku has been playing for clubs that finished in league positions of 8th, 5th, 11th and 12th.
Lukaku goal record vs Premier League strikers since 2012/13 (games in brackets)

That freekick was just ridiculous. He had NO right to score from there. On the transfer front, I don't mind Calum Chambers though. He can play 3 positions - CB\RB\DM. He's English. He's young. And he's decent. And he needs first team footy. Chambers and Wijnaldum would be my immediate picks. I doubt Kante will actually leave though....if he does, he will be costing a pretty penny. |
