Please I would like to find out if there is anyone who applied from the outside Nigeria and was refused based on Immigration status and employment opportunities in home country.

She showed most ties to Nigeria and yet she was still refused ,please how did you tackle it and can anyone also point me to similar trend

Overall, it is better to apply for your visa from Nigeria and then attach your US visit visa as evidence that you have a USA Non-Immigrant visa. This document would improve your chances. This process might take time, but your chances are higher. Those who have applied for a visit visa to Canada from the USA can also share their experiences and add their input.

This like the 5th renewal of the Us visa so their is an extensive travel history
The family has a valid study permit ,wife and kids and transisting via the US ,so thinking of applying from there to see if he can get it in time to fly with them

Current it is over 190 days from Nigeria but from the Us it is about 2 weeks

My Sister got a refusal letter: I have applied for GCMS. Two reasons:
1. Financial status and Asset: she paid half of the tuition $10k and showed statement of account N3.5m. I guess these are not enough. For assets she showed landed asset with no valuation.
2. Family ties in Canada stronger than that of Nigeria: Her husband and son are not coming with her, so what other family ties. Yes she has 3 brothers and a sister in Canada.
Application Date 17th February, upfront medical, new portal, Nairobi visa office, refusal letter today.
I need suggestions while I wait for her GCMS.

Did she declare the siblings in canada ?
If she did ,did she explain strong ties to Nigeria
Does she have travel history to capitalize on that she always came back and never over stayed ?

Is it me or does this wait just feel like eternity, it's just 10 days since I submitted my application and it's feeling like it's been months.
I keep checking my portal almost everytime.
For the sake of my sanity I think I'll just quit nairaland for a while.

Passport is not required for adults on the new portal just kids

Don’t worry , your eligibility will start on the 15th of this month exactly 5 months . I applied on the 4th of January and my Eligibility started on the 4th of of May after I sent them my new letter of acceptance after deferring to September via webform and email.

Why do you need an agent? I thought it's better to do these things yourself to avoid stories and illegal documents that you aren't aware of? October is too long a time. Put it in prayers sha

You better check with that agent very well

Imagine ,the inconsistency in the processing is really painful, since January and still nothing
Some people haven’t even started and gotten ppr
While some started and got days later.

She used the new portal for her re application.

It’s rather sad that one has to wait too long for something like this ,if it’s orderly ,you would understand the wait time not the one someone wud submit in March get approved and October is still waiting

I currently just got my student visa approved but I some concerns and would be grateful if anyone can help with clarifications.
My program is a one year joint masters offered by a university in Madrid and Canada. I have finished the first semester in Madrid and applied for the Canadian visa but it was initially refused and I applied again. The school had to move the course online since most of the students didn't get the visa. We resumed the second semester online in January and we just finished on the 29th of April. My second application was approved on the 28th of April. I got the counter foil today and realized they approve 2months for me.
What should I do?
What options do I have ?
I already registered for the summer semester to complete my thesis.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

These IRCC guys are just making us to waste our money when it comes to GCMS notes. They no longer update notes when you still have active application in place. I have ordered for two notes since I applied in January 4th, 2022 . One came in March 4th and nothing was inside apart from medical and biometric passed and info sharing complete. No eligibility yet.
Ordered for another one on March 18 and it just arrived yesterday evening and same thing as the first one. Now making me to defer my admission to September 2022 as my school is billed to resume on the 9th of May

Na wa oh ,since January no eligibility

My Application is 5months today,eligibility is not started(hopefully it’s going on in the background)
Medical was from a previous application it was not updated till Feb 15th,after daily mails
May God help us in this journey coz sometimes it so hard to hold it all in,can’t even make long term plans,it feels like being stuck in a box.
But like it’s said Good things don’t come easy…it will certainly end in praise for all of us.

I can’t even begin to understand the logic behind it not starting
And if one can get ppr without it ,from what I have seen , people wait longer for ppr when the eligibilty review is not started
Seeing it gives one hope
