Hello house, my wife tried renewing her visa through Dropbox since 23rd of October but yet to get any info from the embassy.
We tracked the visa on the ceac website and it says administrative processing since nov. 8th and on the cgi website, we also tracked the passport and it says no info available for passport.
Logging in to the cgi website, her profile reads schedule follow up interview.
can she schedule the appointment now or wait to hear from the embassy first? Anyone with info about this should please share

Available date is Abuja is like February. I used an agent to book appointment for November 27 on Sunday. If you are pressed for time use an agent to book an appointment. Not to fill your form of.

Hello I had a date for July 7th but had to reschedule because my husband's passport was at the British Embassy and the only available date was March 5th. About 2 weeks ago we got an email rescheduling our appointment for Dec1 on a Saturday

I’m not surprised. Ladies and gentlemen a lot of young (age 19 - 45) Nigerians issued with B visas are not returning home. Many go and stay back illegally and it’s becoming difficult for the visa officers to identify such people. My neighbour ( 30 year old lady) went to Atlanta on vacation in November 2017 and is still not back. My cousin in 2012 was issued a B visa along with her parents and sibling to attend their sister’s wedding . Upon return she went back to US in 2014 and has since not returned. We recently heard that she gave birth their. Some days ago a colleague of mine was telling me about his plans to take his family to Dubai for Christmas for the purpose of building some sort of travel history on his passport in preparation for the US visa interview in February. I asked him why he is willing so spend so much on a Dubai trip when he is more interested on a US trip and his response was “ when I get the US visa I’ll want my wife and kids to relocate using the visa “ . He claims his people have asked him to come and worry about adjustment of status when he get there. I heard of another colleague of mine ( don’t know him) who relocated with his family on a B visa earlier in the year. The stories are endless.

The implication of this trend is that genuine vacation seekers may have their applications denied without being able to convince the VO...

In the 221g letter..they stated to print the ds 160 form.
To the best of my knowledge the embassy peeps dont even like seeing the ds 160 form..i tried to access it just incase..but i 2asnt able to..its only the confirmation page i could print.
This makes me think the request may be an error or something.

I will attempt to break it down to a reasonable level.

I am not an impulsive shopper and never will be especially when it concerns life of a new born, personal health and well being.

This is not like buying Chico phone or London use laptop that you just jump into Danfo and go to Ikeja under bridge to buy whatever you can buy even if it means running game on the seller or have him/her give you for free.

Now step back for a minute if you like quality and you want or to be fair need laptop/phone you will go to SLOT or HP office on the mainland or island and if they low ball you, wouldn't you ask questions like why is it so low is there a sale going on? Are these products refurbished, low grade, what's the selling price of the real deal ? These are valid questions.

To the real deal these scenarios are not comparable with human life. You know how much average prenatal/postpartum maternity cost is for foreigners who desire to take advantage of immigration system via medical tourism in the U.S. (that is the reason why the damn thing is expensive in the first place) and the technicalities involved in medical transfers from naija and visa processing.

If a doctor or shady hospital for whatever reason gives you a way lower than the belt average cost it is your responsibility to inform them hey this is way above normal cost is anything else attached to it and let them know you are a foreigner can they tell you the reason for the pricing. They are obliged to tell you oh we having some new trials and we trying to rack up results by driving sales or blah blah blah.

I tried to break it down as simple as I could.

If you have family member in her shoes tell them to go and tell the visa officers what you just said up there they will definitely pity her and give them

Its not until you chop Medicare/Medicaid or any insurance benefit that you have constituted yourself a public charge.
E go hard for you just wait till your pikin turn adult then he can file for you if that law has not been changed by then or naija fit done be stew before then and you won't need their yeye visa

Being refused the US visa is not the end of the world. Try going to another country for your vacation if indeed your main purpose of travelling is for vacation and nothing else.

Good day All,
first post(apologies for the long post). i have traveled numerous times to the UK in the past 15 years or so. and i schooled in the UK(Masters degree)also been back and forth on work training .my first attempt at a USA Visa was successful when i applied for a B1/B2 in the year 2015( i was never asked if i was pregnant). I found out after that i was pregnant and decided to have my baby in the USA. I asked about changing my visa to a medical one and was told it covers for medical. i was advised to send a change of intent letter. i did and proceeded to the USA. At the point of entry even before i was asked i declared my intention and was sent to secondary inspection. that took less than 5 minutes. the officer asked me for the bill and how much i had with me. i told them the bill (hospital and doctor )which amounted to about 6000+ dollars. the officer was surprised at the total and i reminded him that i was self pay and so got huge discounts he laughed, agreed, stamped me in wishing me a safe delivery.
fast forward to 2017 it was time for renewal so i opted for drop box. less than a week i was called and immediately handed a 212g and asked to show up for a follow up interview. when i got there i greeted, got no response the lady had a very stern expression and demanded to see my hospital bill which i presented (the bill was from Atlanta) she barely looked at the paper and said no way will you get childbirth for 3200. i explained that it was self pay. she asked for my doctor bill which was about 3000 and was OK with it. she now said if i cant prove that it was self pay she wont grant the application. on my zero bill it showed the adjustments. i now begged please if you don't believe me can you call or investigate. i think this annoyed her further because she snapped and said it wasn't part of her job. and shouted NEXT!
fast forward to 2018 this time my main purpose was family visit with my kids (the first i had in the UK as a student, the 2nd i had here in Nigeria and the last i had in the USA)my husband couldn't join us because he had work commitments. this time i got another zero balance saying fee was adjusted from hospital. as soon as i got there another very stern reception. he asked if all my kids were present i said the last one is a US citizen so needs no visa so i came with those needing visa. he asked where i worked and where i was going. i told him. that was it! the next thing he said was that i wasn't qualified. HAH!. i was qualified before what has disqualified me??
They didn't ask for my zero balance which i believed to be the reason for my refusal the last time.
I have a clean travel history
i truly paid all my bills and rigidly forced the doctors and hospital to hand them over before leaving the USA
i have never taken any govt aid and always advised people against it
could i have taken my Son to interview to prove i didn't leave him in the USA?
Just confused and hurt and i also noticed that all my friends who previously had kids in the USA around that time were all refused renewals. i have been honest in my application and for me to be refused twice in a row after initially getting a visa is quite depressing. have i been marked to never get visa? is there a way i can find out reasons for my repeated refusals? as i plan to apply early nest year again. HOUSE PLEASE HELP.

I applied with my husband and got denied. Reason was no strong ties as shown on the blue paper.
So I want to reapply but alone this time. Pls what’s the best response to give when filling the form. In the part that says reason for denial.

I don’t just want to write only no strong ties. Can I also add presently I am applying alone without spouse?

This is my first time using this platform. I have been a guest on this trend. Just thought I should share my experience with you.

I had my first interview end of Oct and was rejected. I went for my second interview just 9days after the first at first the VO gave me a another rejection let and I asked for a specific reason why I was rejected again.
VO said from my last interview I didn't proof I had enough funds to pay for my bills.
I told the Vo I came with another bank statement and insisted the VO sees it.
After subsequent questions after checking my bank statement my Visa was approved.

Please apply again, don't let other people's encounter scare you. Go with the grace of God.trust, also be very prepared for your next interview.

When I have time I would post my transcripts for both interviews.

Pls I need the house advice.I was denied Us visa in October although i stated my intention for medical and also got the doctor's correspondence. The only documents d VO asked for was the doctor and hospital correspondence and my bank account statement which I gave him. And he asked if I've traveled before which I said NO.. Is it possible for me to reapply and get the visa or should I just let go and forget it.. I still have up to December ending to be able to travel

Goodday , please I have a question. So I traveled 2016 dec to have my baby , due to unknown circumstances I had my baby at 28 weeks (premature) , it was a very traumatizing time for me. The baby stayed in the hospital for almost 2months but his pediatrician adviced we stayed back for a while until the baby is healthy and good to go. This required me to overstay more than 6months but I applied for an extension. Note that I didn’t violate any of their laws. Now I’m trying to renew my visa via Dropbox but I was asked to come for interview in April. Please has anyone experienced this and how well can I prepare. I am also not pregnant so I’m not applying to go for child birth.

No that's not what I meant. Before you can be allowed in to be interviewed, you need to show evidence of Visa payment, DS 160 confirmation and appointment confirmation. If you are called for a follow-up interview, they usually give you options of date to choose from on your profile. The appointment option they provided for me was for just one person(me), so I thought that will suffice for my family because the letter says we should come as a family. Only to get there for my family to be denied entrance into the interview arena. I don't want any other people going as a family to make the same assumption I made.

Keep hopes alive. People will still get their visas approved even till year 2019.

We did our interview on Monday, 29th October after being called for a follow-up interview (sequel to Dropbox application) and they were approved. Just make sure you have a genuine case, they hardly even ask for documents these days. Some were approved and some were denied on that day. In fact there was another person that came for a 221g appointment and still got denied.


The lessons learnt from my own experience at the center:

If you are called for a follow-up interview along with your family, ensure you have appointment for every member of the group.

Ensure you are abreast of all the info in your application and your travel history(international passport).

Hello, I submitted a dropbox renewal and I got the 221g yellow paper requesting I setup an appointment with a officer. At the additional information they wrote fingerprints requested. The email also stated schedule appointment for fingerprints capture. My question is will there be an interview or just fingerprints taken when I go there? Thank you.
