Why should a recruiter ask you for your bank details? does that even make sense at all?
That should not even bother you.
It should not stop anyone from going ahead to provide the details.
What's important is that you are not dumb enough to provide the account details of an active or main account.
You can open a new one or give old acct numbers.

The only reason is because of possibilities. Who knows if the job is legit. You never know.
Desperate times require desperate measures.

I have seen some recruiters asking for such recently anyway.
Their motive and reasons are strange to me also.

What a smart person would have done I'd to proceed with the interview and give them that bank acct you do not use at all.
Worst case scenario, open a new acct and send to them. Very simple.

You don't lose out on opportunities or possibilities because a recruiter asked for your bank details. And so whathuh Are you obligated to give them your main account? No.

PhonesRe: How Smartphone Makers Are Defrauding Nigerians by nmreports: 7:04am On Jun 10, 2016
Good thinking.
Let me however enlighten you. Even the high end phones cones with their own regular problems.

Majority of Samsung S4s have SIM recognition problems if not all.

Once you open up an iPhone due to battery problem, you may have to consider the phone dead.

My colleagues newly purchased S7 edge always hangs. When it does hang, it could take HOURS to recover because battery is inbuilt.

Point is, all phones have their problem and if you are buying a phone of 25k then you should expect less. For example, the quality of a Ferrari cannot be compared to that of Kia. Though Ferrari comes with its problems too. It's all about preference and financial capability.

What I am against is the unavailability of repair scraps for some of these phones.

You are not in their shoes, so you can't be so sure, that is whether you're speaking from personal "experience" or not undecided

I don't support campus runs but I'm not against it either cos I believe in the dictum, 'live and let live'. You can never give satisfactory reasons why ladies go into campus runs without sounding spiteful, petty and judgemental so it all boils down to my latter statement, your write-up is skewed undecided

Ps: If you can't take constructive criticism without sounding supercilious, then you've got a lot to work on, on yourself without throwing shades at campus runs girls. Aloha!

I'd really love to understand your point but I couldn't.

I can assure you that you will testify after ur visit. A man who speaks good English messed up my car and I spent 60k for that repair. I was lamenting until someone directed me to him. He scanned my car picked the whole codes and took it to another computer that brought out the diagram of my car and he wrote out all that I needed to buy. He gave me the price and I told him am a salary earner that I will prefer I go to ladipo to pick all that from my brothers shop and I will pay month end. He agreed and I bought all those stuff very cheap and he fixed and bye bye to car repair. Infact he charges 2k only for scanning. At the end of the day I paid him 7k out of joy for a work well done. His name is ADE. 08033852074 his shop is at ayobo mechanic village via onuora bustop. Tell him u re from greg from gowon estate. If u come to gowon estate I can personally take u there.
Thanks chief.

Is not all per say, am a mechanic, a heavy duty diesel mechanic and have been doing this job for like 10 years now (just working experience) have worked both in garage, small companies and big companies.
During all my working times I get to understand the bridge between a mechanic and the car/truck owner, the car/truck owner is ready to spend millions on any part just to see his machine back to operation but fine it difficult to pay the mechanic for his services,so that made the mechanics to use the part as opportunity to get their money from the owner of the car /truck....
Finally car/truck owners do under rate most mechanics just because of their age, tribe, religion education etc which made them to fall into the hands of the wrong ones.......

Op....I pmbfirstson can stand anywhere to testify myself as an honest and true mechanic shocked cool
Where are you based?
I can relate to this. I got a car and I didn't even enjoy it for a week before they helped me spoil it. Been spending endless money on it since last year. Now I've given one 15k since Monday morning to help me fix it, today is Saturday, he still hasn't done anything. I'm already prepared to sell the car. Lagos mechanics are evil. [/qumote]

Which car was that?

Hwy95:
I have to address this mis-information :

6) Real estate. Donald Trump is someone in this field. He built his business from the scratch as a real estate person and he is today one of the richest folks in the USA.

Trump inherited his real estate business from his father who was already a millionaire. He had access to his father's bankers, politicians, lines of credit and connections to increase the existing real estate empire.
Unlike his father who was a quiet humble man, Trump made a lot of noise and became well known.
Trump did well to increase his father's empire and not waste, destroy or aimlessly spend all the wealth.
Trump consistently exaggerates about his wealth.
FYI : There are more powerful, richer real-estate moguls in NYC & USA than Trump and have never filed Chapter 11.
Mr. Lefrak comes to mind.
It's good we have people like you here to clarify things.
Can you at least also contribute to the purpose of the thread please.

BusinessList Of Simple Businesses You Can Do If You Are Unemployed by nmreports(op): 11:27am On Jun 01, 2016
I like to make my threads as simple as possible.

Goal:
To enlighten us about businesses or entrepreneurial adventure anyone can embark in should you just lost your job or are unemployed.

Why:
There has been a massive downsize in the staff strength of most corporate organization's lately as a result of the economic challenges that the nation is facing. These are folks with kids, dependents amongst others.

List of businesses:
1) Food business. This could be segmented into retailing at shops to food packaging inside packs or cooked meal for corporate organization's who do not have restaurants near then or do not have the time to leave their work stations most times. Banks are an example.

2) Tech. This include blogging (requires very little capital) to numerous online businesses that one could do. What's important in tech business is to solve a problem. For example, "callashoemaker.com" and something like "tailor.com". I think I have just given out ideas free of charge.

3) Develop a skill. This is one of the thing anyone can do and feed on for the most part of one's life. Even when business is not growing, there is no cash and things are not moving in the direction you want, your skill will still put food on the table. For example, artists, fashion designers, hair manager (You know), shoe designer etc.

4) Consulting. Most people have a skill which others do not have and for some reason we do not maximizer it's use. Though you may need to register a business and be under a tutelage of a mentor, it is still something that is very doable. If you can write, you can sing (voice trainer), you are a body builder, or you can train people... why don't you consult for people who require this skills.

5) Networking. Though I am not a fan of this, I think I heard it's very profitable too if you are a natural born sales person.

6) Real estate. Donald Trump is someone in this field. He built his business from the scratch as a real estate person and he is today one of the richest folks in the USA.
The real estate business is at an all time high as that seems to be the most secure way of "rooting" your assets. Some of the things you can do as a real estate agent is land or house sales. Leasing or letting. Consult as a real estate professional or even provide skilled surveyors and engineers for those who need them.

7) Sale of fashion products. We are becoming very enlightened fashion wise and people spend a fortune to look good. This is also a business one can do provided you have a market for those who need a constant supply of your wears.
You can also open up stores on Konga, Jumia and the likes and yes! The returns are not bad at all. I can testify to that.

Nairalanders, these are tough times. What are you doing to hold body and soul together. What business ideas do you think are lucrative and some of us could do.
What ideas do you have? Kindly continue the list in the comments section below and let's alleviate poverty in the little way we can.

Thank you for the tips .....I just started serving, infact am resuming on Tuesday at my PPA.

I've been thinking, should I start applying for jobs now ( i.e immediately) or I should wait a bit because honestly I don't think am prepared yet.

I actually want to start applying by September what do you think?
Start applying 2 months to the end of your service. Very better that way.
You can even inform any potential employer if they need you to resume urgently that you will soon complete service.
If you start now it doesn't make sense.
Except of course you plan to serve there.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Hello N'landers, As A Job Seeker Would You Take This Salary For A Start? by nmreports: 7:58pm On May 29, 2016
Guys, Nigeria unemployment rate was recorded at almost 12 percent in March quarter of 2016. i.e almost 10 million people are unemployed. Please verify again but I think its around this figure.

Nobody in his right senses wants this kind of salary but desperate times require desperate measures.
The economy do not even give room for entrepreneurship. Foreign investors are withdrawing. Internet is expensive. Logistics is gold. Electricity price is soaring. Food is diamond. Only the brave can survive these hard times.

Whats important is not what you have now or where you are or what job you are doing.

GUYS Please, whats important is what you have inside of you and where you are going.

With this, Hillso7, help your friend make the right decision. Good times ahead.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Smart & Simple Ways To Get A Job In Modern Times by nmreports(op): 6:54pm On May 29, 2016
Quick Tip:

There are things you do not need to do. For example;

# watching the new season of a Netflix drama.
# 44 hours per week watching television (This is the average amount of time you use watching television).
# The time spent playing the game Candy Crush.
# Or spending time stalking that girl on Facebook.

It does not seem to be good. It does not help you grow.

So what should you do?
Read more, improve your knowledge. Grow, think, create. Get involved in activities that will push you closer to your goals.
This way you are preparing adequately for success when it arrives.
