Pointers (Red Flags) that you should not ignore:

1) You have a family to cater for (What the heck is the use of HOD without salary).
2) They are owing 3 months salary.
3) Unknown territory.

The only justification that looks tenable is that you stay very far from family... but chief, a certain monthly income is worth more that a company owing three months salary. You can take this advice to the bank.

I remembered when I lost a job in 2014.
It is not a state anyone wants to meet themselves.
I appreciate God for he helped me back up after 5 months but it was hell.

Now I do not just settle into a job thinking its fine.
I am very competent and great at my job and this has earned me increase and recognition over time but I will NEVER believe I am indispensable such that I settle in thinking nothing can happen.

In this times of no security, always be on the look out for jobs. Understand office politics, improve yourself and more importantly, be on the side of God.

I trust in God.

Okay here goes:

An application letter is a straight to the point letter indicating your interest in a position as well as a brief introduction of your qualifications.

A cover letter is totally different. It spells your achievement in your former job and current job most especially as it relates to the job you are applying for.
You have an opportunity to elaborate your cv/ resume as well as your awards on the letter.

NOTE: What will show on your cover letter totally depends on the job, your discipline, if you are a professional, graduate etc.
So what I wrote is not cast in stone.

It is usually best to make enquiries about the company's pay structure for your position before you go. That's the best option.

Except of course you are an experienced professional, then the issue of salary is about what you can take and not what they can offer. i.e when you know your job and you are certain about what you are bringing to the table.

I see it's for insurance. Provided it is an executive trainee position then you can say something around 80k
