Hi guys, I received a correspondence letter my application today. Please what does it mean?

I'm a newbie here though I have been going through the page

My spouse is currently in UK on student Visa. He will be done with study by December 2023. He applied to a school in Canada and got admitted for January intake but want to defy to May 2024.

1. Can he apply for his study visa over there in UK or do he need to come back to Nigeria to apply?

2. Do we need to apply for my SWOP or it better to apply when he gets his visa. I'm in Nigeria. Note that he has a job, land property and age parent as home tire

Our primary concern is if he can apply in UK

I don't know if there is anyone that have applied from UK and got his/her study visa

Our situations are somewhat alike. Both my spouse and I are currently on work visas in the U.K. My spouse has submitted an application to study in Canada (Jan 2024 intake) since March this year, but we haven't received any feedback yet. It has been 10 weeks since the application was submitted, and my spouse applied independently.

On another note, I have been in contact with a woman I met on Nairaland, whose spouse is on a study visa here in the U.K. Unfortunately, her study permit application was denied because her U.K. dependent visa was set to expire within six months, and home ties.

I would recommend that your spouse applies from Nigeria if possible, but there is no harm in trying to apply from the U.K.

He can apply from the UK, but applying from Nigeria is the best for obvious reasons. How long he has been in the UK and the duration of his status is vital if he wants to apply from the UK.
One of the common mistakes that students from the UK make is going for a similar program that they studied in the UK. So, ensure that the intended program complements his recent education in the UK. If the proposed program is the same or below the level of the program he studied in the UK, discuss the course component that is lacking and how the program relates to his career path.

You can apply with him, but applying alone is better so he can use you as an additional tie.

My GCMS notes for my first application is attached below.
Anyone who wish to guide me though my second application?

Bank not verifiable is a micro finance
Fixed deposit 18.5 M
2years Post graduate diploma

I’m planning to do a new POF to my GTB (Salary account). Print Statement in few wks time and submit my application with explanation that I’ve liquidated the fixed deposit to a verifiable financial institution.

Anyone who can throw more light on this will be appreciated.

I think the point VO is making is more about the source of your funds as opposed to the funds itself. Before you apply, you need to think about how to justify the 18.5m through your $300-$360 monthly payslip or other means. You also need to convince the VO that it would be a reasonable expense.

Still waiting for your PPR?

My brother, it's been a long wait.

9+ weeks, and no major or progress by IRCC!

My cousin got exactly this same response and his previous application was a refusal without any ban. He also got no PFL. This is quite strange and I have been having a difficult time understanding the whole issue.

I have already requested a GCMS note but it's interesting seeing another person with this exact response.

These IRCC VOs have obviously overstretched their bandwidths. Referencing a ban where there is none is a big competency problem.

They should learn efficiency in visa processing from the U.K!!!!

On May 5th, they told me my application was under review. Yesterday, they said it is awaiting review. Can you imagine? undecided

Thanks, brother.
I used the new portal.
Grounds for refusal: "Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the state purpose of travel..."

Although, it baffles me how so, based on my POF submission and property documents. The CBSA notes would clarify things sha.

I pray yours comes positive soon. Don't fret because of my outcome o. I wish you the best.

Amen bro! All the best in your reapplication man!

Hello bro, I don't understand. It seems there is a delay in the new portal for those applying outside. I applied for Berlin visa application centre and exactly same you presented

In the same shoes bro. Obviously from the answers given here, the delay is likely because we used the new portal.
Please how do you know the Visa Office handling your application?

I am in the U.K and did biometric at the London Visa Office.

Oh my, there hasn't been any change on this dashboard for the past 8 weeks.

I wonder if it's because of the new portal I used. Maybe I should have just used GCKey instead. This is frustrating, guys.

Do you have any idea what might be causing the delay in processing my application? It's being handled by the London Visa Office, and I'm really tired of waiting.

Abeg eh, this is week 8 of my visa application. Can a co-op permit processing delay the processing study permit?

I was told via email that my application is under review but my IRCC dashboard says vaguely "application in progress"

I paid full tution fee for the year program and submitted valuation report for a house and land. The decision was made within 20 days of application submission.

Looks like u had a good application...not sure why they refused...the gurus here will share their thoughts based on their experience.

However, if I was in your shoe, I would leave d funds for four months, pay tuition, and further provide proof of assets while reapplying.

I guess these VOs just look for any loopholes and hold on to them.

All the best.

Wow.

I explained that he has been working and attached one of his payslips with his bank statement.
For home ties I got study leave from my workplace and I'm leaving my kids and husband.COR is Nigeria

Was the actual source of the funds explained in the SOP? If the fund is from his business or job, I guess his payslips/bank statement/business evidence/receipt should suffice. If it's from the sale of property, the document/receipt/contract agreement. Alternatively, keep the funds for four-six months to build the opening balance and give VO assurance.

For the home ties, several people here have addressed that, you can read through the threads. Which country of residence (COR) is the visa officer referring to? Nigeria? or are you based outside Nigeria like me?

Also, how long did it take you to get a decision if you don't mind? Thanks

Most likely your biometric instruction if you haven't given IRCC one in the last ten years.

Yes. As a matter of fact eligibility check starts immediately after biometrics, soon as a VO is on ur application. It goes on till ur passport is stamped. i.e even after PPR eligibility check is still on, till a final decision is made which is stamping or ur passport!
All the best!

Wow...Thanks @Bamz555. Up till now, the status has not been reflected on my dashboard. Is it normal?
