Many thanks for your response.....However, the issue that I have is how then will I explain to the Visa officer what I went to do in the UK because that will be so obvious considering the study gap and travel history

Failing to disclose your activities, such as hiding your MBA qualification, could potentially create issues for you in the future, especially when applying for Permanent Residence. This omission may be considered as misrepresentation, which could lead to serious consequences.

It's best to play safe.

Good day all, I earlier posted something about my refusal in March. My GCM notes came in last night.

Please kindly see attached and please give me your advice 🙏 on how the refusal reason should best be tackled.

Summary
Lone applicant.
2years program

1st term fee already paid with evidence sent to IRCc

I had 8m gift deed from my sponsor

Showed about 17m POF

Showed evidence of lots of landed properties (personal home, Hotel business, rental apartment of 6 flats, lands).

My kids, mum and work were used as home ties.

Almost as if the VO no read the SOP or thoroughly review the application before taking his/her decision. Most comments on the CBSA contradict what the applicant says he/she provided. All the best in your reapplication! Hopefully it gets into the queue of a better VO.

Guys please,

if one submits a bank statement during visa processing and wants to pull some of the funds into an investment account, is it advisable?

Do I need to send the investment certificate to the visa officer before they realise that part of the funds have been pulled out?

Good morning everyone,I have been a ghost viewer for a while now,I will like to commend the top dogs in the forum, you guys rock👍.I started my application process three weeks back I applied to 4 schools
-conestoga college
-norquest college
-Cambrian college
-Nbcc
I just got informed that Cambrian and conestoga denied my application because I have more than 7fs in my transcript (my Gpa is on the low side 2.38
I am still expecting feed back from norquest and Nbcc hasn’t started application process for 2024 intakes
I will love if anyone who has gone through a similar situation to assist me on which schools to apply for while I wait for the other two schools.
I graduated with a 3rd class from Federal University of Technology Owerri
Course :statistics
I am applying for data analytics post graduate programs or business analysis
I look forward to reading your thoughts and suggestions
Thank you.

For college diploma/certificate programs, your undergraduate degree result is not mandatory especially since you graduated with a 3rd class. If you have a very good WAEC result, use it instead. i.e if all the schools you have applied to at the moment refuse to admit you based on the 7fs on your university transcript

Hello,

Is there anyone who has obtained a study permit and will be commencing their studies in January 2024?

I'm trying to figure out the reason nothing on my dashboard has changed since my Biometric on 13th March.

Hello Gurus,

Please I need your genuine advice and opinion on this. I initially made payment to an institution in the UK, but I couldn’t make it to the UK and my money was refunded to my account because the school asked me if I was refused visa before and I told them Yes I was refused Uk visiting visa back in 2017, that was the reason I didn’t apply for the UK visa anymore.

I didn’t apply for UK visa and the school refunded my tuition deposit of 8,000pounds to my naira account which came in as lump sum 4,130,0000. Now I want to submit my application for Canada. I already explained in my SOP that the lump sum was a returned fund from the school in initially applied to in the UK.

My question now is. Is it advisable to attach the telex copy of the initial debit to the school in my document or I should ignore. I don’t want to do anything that will implicate me.

Kindly note I also declare in my Canada application my previous visa denial as well.

Waiting for your replies

Thanks

Whatever makes your application stronger! do it! However, I would also assume that the refund came with a bank narration, which should come in handy for your defence. For the avoidance of doubt, please spell every detail out and evidence it.

Please, like how many weeks does it take Holland college to send your LOA.
Thank you.

Typically, once your tuition deposit has been paid and received by the school, an official LOA will be sent to you.

Hey guys, please can I get some feedback on this.

I did my biometrics on the same day as someone else, and that person has received feedback from IRCC recently. Would it be appropriate to ask for an update on my response using the webform?

Hey guys! Been soo long here! I really cannot remember how long it has being.

Today 2nd April 2033 makes it exactly 1 year of me been in Canada. And all I can say is that it's only been God, support and encouragement from my family back home and the family I already created here in Canada. How I have been surviving? I don't know! It's only God!

Cause without him, I wouldn't be writing this epistle right here.

The struggle has been hard, crazy, intense, lots to learn, combining working and going to school (even the jobs ain't easy to come by). God has been faithful to me, brought good people around me (Nigerians) because really, good people are hard to find here. Over here, nobody has time for you, nobody really cares about you. Everybody's trying to survive, everyone's almost lost in the struggle. That friend wey you think say na your bestie, ask am for $50 and watch as e go tell you him life history come run leave you in seconds.

Guys don't believe anyone who tells you Canada is all bed of roses! It is a fat lie!!! Canada is not for the faint hearted!!! Nothing is easy to get here, you must work like a donkey and follow due process to get anything you want.

When I was in Nigeria, I have never worked like the way I do here! Even the school wey them dey tell us that year say e easy pass primary school, I can categorically tell you that our education at home is decades away from what they're doing here. The education system here can make you mad! Most especially if you don't make enquiries and also ask questions (follow who know road) you'd be lost! I almost lost it in my first semester, till I began to ask questions.

For the work aspect, guys, don't mind those nonsense people keep saying, say "work full Canada", Zero your mind you might not do anything here for months. Even if you see something doing, you'd do everything you've never done in your life. There's no Job I've not done in this country, I think the only Job I haven't done is to wash dead body, which I'll never do. ☠️

Be prepared to be humbled. Jobs you feel you could never ever do in Nigeria, be prepared to do them here, unless you came into the country with a sh*t pile of cash, but if you're like us, wey tell IRCC say we get 100K USD for the account 😂 then you have to be prepared to do all sort of things just to survive.

I know lots of people who haven't done anything in more than 5 months here. Living with their Naira's from Nigeria. Like I said, don't be deceived by what you see on the Internet on how excess jobs in Canada. The good jobs here, nobody's ready to leave it, especially those Indians (I call them Fulani Herdsmen) those Herdsmen are everywhere like flies! Every nook and cranny, them dey, and trust me, na them dey get update pass, but never trust them, they'll boot you off when they have the chance!

For the weather aspect, I live in British Columbia. It's fair to say it's the warmest province in the whole of Canada. But when I mean warm don't think Nigerian warm or South African warm. Warm in the sense that were currently on 3°C and during extreme weather conditions it could get to like - 14°C. Don't forget freezing point for your freezer na 0°C grin so literally, we live inside freezer.
I stayed in Toronto for about 4 months and the weather is way more extreme than British Columbia. Good thing is for those coming in this April, the weather has gotten better, but is still gonna be so cold for newcomers. So please come prepared with good winter dresses.

Another thing is this, guys don't do the mistake of coming to Canada without any $$$, abeg come with something to support yourself for sometime, e dey very important. You don't wanna come here and start begging, you need funds to survive as a first timer. It's extremely important.

Mehn, it's being a journey for me here, trust me, so many ups and downs, if I tell people, them go tell me say better days dey come... Like this, I still dey find that better days oh! 😭 But God dey..

Thanks to SEUN for this platform! Without Nairaland, my journey to Canada wouldn't be possible. I also thank all the good people who assisted me during my process e no easy! Lianna, lekiboeboe, I can't remember the rest... Y'all are the real OGs!
By the grace of God, it'll rain PPR for everybody here! This thread 22 is gonna be your thread of testimonies! If you believe say a big AMEN!!!
Those refused, please don't give up! You know what you want, restrategise and hit them again! Trust me, you're gonna get it right this TIME! Na who give up fu*k up! I'm rooting for you! kiss

If you're coming to UCW or Vancouver and need information on anything kindly reach out to me, I'd do my best in explaining everything and anything to you.

Thanks for reading my long story guys. Have a lovely night rest ❤️

Thanks for this.

I often come across comments online stating that there aren't many job opportunities or professional jobs in Canada, which is surprising to me.

I guess this highlights two important things:

1. It is crucial to choose a program of study that is in high demand in the Canadian job market to increase your chances of finding employment after the program.
2. If one currently has a stable job in a developed country, it may not be wise to resign and move to Canada without proper planning and research.

Hello guys, please I have a question.... I applied for a 1 year .. college certificate course in the Centennial and conestoga college. I intend to take another 1 year course or maybe another 2 year masters course after completing my first college course.
The reason why I'm going for college is because I am self sponsored and my savings is 40,000 CAD. Tuition fee is around 13 - 18k cad. So I have 20k for living expenses.

Course Studied : Architecture
CGPA : 3.90

My question is this

1. if I take another 1 year course after completing the first one... will I be eligible for 3 year pgwp?
2. Is the 40k cad be enough fund to convince the VO As a self sponsored for a 1 year course of 17k tuition.?
3. if I decide to go for 2 years masters after completing the first one. Will it be easy to extend my study permit while in Canada after completing my first course.

Pls I need help from gurus thank you!

Yes to 1 & 2.
I'm not in a better position to answer 3 so will allow others answer.

Yep, what?

If you’ve not gotten a feedback from IRCC yet, then wait.

But like the others said, it may result to you and your spouse returning to your country of citizenship to apply.

Bros ( e sure me say na only a guy fit harass me like this), why are you harassing me...Lol grin

You picked it out of context. You perhaps need to go back to the section where I mentioned that I was asking on behalf of @mimifam since we are in the same situation i.e applied from the u.k. Nothing wrong in asking questions ahead, it does not mean I am pessimistic.

But since her biometric has already been captured and is valid for 10 yrs, does she necessarily need to physically return to Nigeria to do the online application?

Okay, did you just fill out the forms in addition to the online application or you were prompted by the system to download, complete the forms manually and upload them as part of your online application?

I also didn't apply from Nigeria perhaps the difference in the process (mine was a proper web page and not a set of downloadable form)

Sure. For study permit/Temporary residence visa
1. Fill IMM 1294 form - Application for study permit outside Canada
2. Letter of Acceptance from your school (Offer of admission)
3. Passport data page
4. Proof of funds for tuition and Living expense
5. Digital passport photo
6. Fill IMM 5645 form - Family information
7. Proof of upfront medicals
8. Fill IMM 5257 form - Application for TRV outside Canada.
9. Client information (Letter of Explanation).

For Letter of Explanation, i gave reasons for study decision, explained adequate proof of fund and showed ties to return to home country.
Uploaded LOI from my office, proof of funds letter from bank, receipt of paid tuition deposit, Proof of ties to Home country - Marriage cert, kids birth cert, family photo, photo and document of landed properties, employment letter from office, payslip for 4 months, travel history and visa stamps on ur passport (if any), first degree certificate, NYSC certificate, Police character certificate (not sure if this was important but added it anyways).

What are these forms? Did you apply on paper?

No specific idea what the Post Graduate Certificate is about bro but it looks as though you need to have obtained a bachelor's degree to be eligible for the Masters and Post Graduate programs, unlike the diploma program which is a post-secondary program that requires at least a NECO or WAEC.

I gave my application to an agent to handle it for me due to the issues of POF. He applied on February 23. I went for biometric on March 13th. Since then I have not heard anything from him. Today I just decided to check my application status through : Application Status tracker. And I discovered they sent this on 14th, meanwhile the agent is not aware. Now I can't reach him. Please what do you think this message can contain

What did they send on 14th? please let us know the exact thing that was sent.

That being said, as much as using agents takes the stress off, heavy reliance on agents is always discouraged. Even when using them, you should be part of the process from start to finish. People have been banned due not the lackadaisical attitude of some agents. Please take note of this going forward.

IRCC has developed their system such that no one can predict their ways, so there is no specific time allotted for a particular stage, they could all be working in the background. I think since you are in the UK they might not request for medicals but just be prepared in case they ask.

Hi
Is there anyone with 2:2 that got admitted to Georgian college?
Trying to apply for a friend but I cannot see this requirement on their website
Thanks

Will appreciate the help

Each program has its own requirements however, they look at your WAEC/NECO result more. Anyways, my spouse is going for a nursing program which is quite competitive. She only has one C in her WAEC and was admitted. Although she submitted her degree transcript (over 4.0 cgpa) and WES evaluation, I doubt if those were a key factors.

Check for your program requirement here
