Just checked ur site, it shows just a white screen. If it'd a WordPress site, then I believe you have an error called white screen of death.

Sometime around June last year, I opened a blog and hosted my site on a shared Bluehost server.
I met the guy on nairaland.
He developed and hosted the site for me but not for once have I enjoyed the services.

I have been engaged over the last couple of months on other things. Hence I haven't been updating the site.

So this year I have decided to focus on my blog.

My many challenges with my host

My site is mostly down

There has been a security breach on my website severally. Someone has actually logged in and post some articles which are mostly virus and this articles are Indexed

The customer care is zero. I don't get response to my request and complains sometimes even after a week
When I call, he don't pick, when he does he gives excuses

He actually once said ' other developers would have stopped reaching out to me '

But hey, he wasn't just the one who built the site, I also hosted with him.

I want to know if truly I do not have rights to call him when I have issues and concerns.
One he built the site, secondly, I am hosting with him.

For three days now I can't access my site as I can't post or edit


Worse now, my site has been writing a " coming soon ' page. I have reached out to this guy and he just treat my matter with such levity. He says he he busy and often sounds like I am disturbing him and he is doing me a favour.


Please advise what do I do?/
Are there companies I could host with that also have good customer relationship and quality service?/
I want to take my blogging serious this year but my web host is killing my action

With this many problems can I still regain full control over my site?/

I feel cheated of quality service from this guy....

I wish words could explain his neglect about my site.... I am beginning to think if this is what would have happened if the site was already having traffic? Although I am beginning to get little traffic

I'm sorry about all the issues you are facing, it can really be fustrating when you meet the wrong developer.

But so, many times, this is the result of getting cheap developers to design your sites. (Not saying you did though)

Anyways, you have every right to call him whenever you have issues on the site. It's because he either is wicked, uncultured or feels the money you paid him was little that's why he is acting like this.


My advise: get another developer who will transfer the site and domain away from him.

Yes, you yourself can pay for a good hosting with a reliable company (dm me for a lost of them).

It's definitely clear you aren't too knowledgeable in this matters. There fore get yourself an IT person, who will and can advise you on the best approach, so you don't end up paying another money that will be wasted.
I can do all this for you free if you want.

Around May last year, my husband and I went with my 4 year old daughter to visit my sister in-law (hubby's elder sister). They insisted they wanted her to stay some days with them, that I should return for her in two or three days time.

After much persuasion from my oga, I left her. But my heart wasn't settled because I've never stayed away from her for that long.
I just noticed that when we called her on video call the very next morning, she looked and sounded depressed, telling us to come take her home. I just thought she was missing me.

I returned the next three days to pick her up. It was even the oldest cousin, a 15 year old girl, who was actually very fond of my daughter that helped me carry her on her back and saw us off to the bustop.

Two or 3 months later, at the end of a Bible study I had with her, my baby said she wanted to tell me something. Hubby was lying on the couch. My baby said the period I took her to that house, the 15 year old girl was always sucking her vagina. My brain shut down immediately. Her dad jumped from the couch and told her to repeat what she just said. She did. She also said that the girl usually holds her mouth close during the act, and that she beats the girl on the head to stop what she was doing, but the girl refused and beat my daughter back.

I broke down. Hubby had never become so mad at his family to the extent of turning his back on them, to the extent of shutting his dad up, but he did all these because his only child was involved.

The family, they all said my daughter was lying. My question is: can a four year old lie about such? The nature of this supposed lie. I don't think so. But all the family members said my daughter lied. And even the girl denied it.
They are totally refusing to address this. They even after some weeks have codedly believe such happened and have called my husband to beg, hubby said so, I don't know if it's true or not. But me the wife, NOBODY, I REPEAT, NOBODY CALLED ME. Like I am nothing in their eyes. Not even the evil mother that insisted my daughter spent some days with them. It's not like if they called me to apologize it would change the past, no, but I might have some tiny relief.

My daughter talks about that experience till date. Even up till yesterday. I am beyond heartbroken. I can't forgive.

The family all turned their face away. Nobody cared to address it, even his parents. I'm thinking of going to their church to expose her because I hear the 15 year old girl is getting baptized next week. Hubby told me to forget about it, his brother told me not to try it. But anytime my daughter remembers this incident and brings it up, I become very disturbed. I don't know what to do.

Please advise me.

Right now, drop, leave, forget about revenge or retaliation. What you need now is DAMAGE CONtROL/COUNSELLING FOR YOUR DAUGHTER.

Research on what to do in this case for counselling issues. That's what we need.
The energy you will use to revenge or make trouble, use it to repair the fragile flower that has been broken. Lots of prayers are also needed for your baby.

I'm so sorry, and I pray God heals her/you guys. It's very painful, but let's look for a solution first.

Are you sure when you finally want to Include payment gateway, you'll be able to do that on this CMS called Magento.

Confirm all these details before using a CMS that is hardly used for e commerce.
Don't just use any CMS without a valid reason.

First, one would need firmly ripe plantains (not soft) to make those.

Thanks for your contribution. We have another business page that is presently running on wordpress but it's not as smooth as the ones built with Shopify. Our main concerns are stability and mobile responsiveness. True, there is alot to tweak with the many plugins that WP has to offer but the issue is, most of these plugins tend to clash over upgrades and a lot of them are not mobile responsive.

I totally understand. If you say stability and mobile responsiveness then a bootstrap with php/MySQL can equally deliver. Less concerns for updates clashing, security etc.

I know shopfiFy is also good but you have to also put into consideration scalability.

When it's time to update or upgrade, will you easily get a good shopfiFy designer to continue from where the first one stopped?

Compare how many good Shopify developers you can get from the onset of this project to start with it. That will kind of give you an insight to also how easy or hard it will be to get one who will continue scaling the business .

In summary, my advise is...WordPress is a better alternative (becos of how easy it is to scale. Heavily responsive designs and it's quite stable too with regular updates.

Or html, css/ (bootstrap/tailwind) for front end

And MySQL/php for back end.
