Yes, you can edit your EOI after submission, but note that the date of effect of your EOI will change when you make changes that increase/decrease your points. Date of effect is the date your EOI is deemed submitted.

Seconded

My assessment was for Electrician (General-341111).

Good on you, you are fine with the Cert 3 for that occupation. Like I said before, you will still get your 10points from the qualification. You really don't need to include your HND while submitting EOI. How many points do you have altogether now? And which visa would you be applying for?

Just got a positive response from Trades Recognition Australia (TRA). My seven years experience was assessed as being equivalent to at least three years in Australia and also only my National Dilpoma (ND) was assessed as being equivalent to AQF cert III instead of my Higher National Diploma (HND).

Which occupation were you assessed for? What should bother you is the requirement of the occupation. Both HND and Cert 3 have the same points.

Hello NNBB2012 and everyone,
Please I need the help of someone with vast understanding of the power sector in OZ. I want to apply for PR ,just to know the prospect of a power engineer, technologist or technician from Nigeria in getting job in OZ. I just read the success story of someone. THANKS!

You can check www.seek.com.au and www.indeed.com.au to see available vacancies. I am aware that relevant experience would easily be considered for job.

I have a b.eng in petroleum engineering and an msc in computer systems engineering (accredited). Different fields...I want to assess petroleum so the msc will become irrelevant but I want to know if its still wise to show the msc so that there won't be a huge gap in my resume. Thx a lot.

I thought this issue had been resolved previously. For your Msc to be considered it has to be in the same field. The best thing is to be silenced about your Msc during your assessment; nobody really cares about the gap.

please i want to understand something Nnbb, so youre saying if i studied bsc maths and msc social work nd i want to apply for pr as a social worker it wont b possible or wt? it wil lead to a -ve assessment? and wt abt d 15points
pls explain thanks

I think this from the Assessing body would answer your question.

I have an undergraduate degree and a 2 year Masters in Social Work. Will I be eligible?

Applicants with an undergraduate degree and an accredited post graduate social work qualifying degree should submit the required documentation for both periods of study. All applicants need to demonstrate that their Masters was a qualifying Masters not a Masters Advanced which is not a social work qualifying/entry to practice course.

Make sure you are doing an accredited Master degree in Social works. I would consider you lucky if you are admitted for Master in Social Works with Bachelor degree in Maths. I know of an individual that was not considered but instead he went to start BSc again in Social works. You also need 1 yr social works experience before you can get positive assessment.

There is a lot yet to be understood about OZ work permit and PR process.

Please can someone knowledgeable analyze my qualification for better understanding .

I have a 5 yrs B.Eng, in mechanical/ production enginnering. Have worked 4yrs in I.T ( system admin, technical support , hardware and software integration).

Now planning to take a 2 yrs advanced diploma in engineering technology. At Victoria university. There website calls it a nationally recognized training.

How does my post work study and possibly PR stack up.
Just for analysis sack.
Thanks

If you were informed before now, perhaps you wouldn't have taken the study path. As you are, you are eligible for PR.You have two options. 1. You can assess your qualification as Mechanical Engineer with Engineers Australia without hope of claiming work experience because your experience does not match with your qualification. What it means is that you have to gain enough points of at least 50points on your own to be eligible for at least visa 489. What is your age? Do you have IELTS result?
2. You can approach ACS to be assess as a Computer System Engineer but a non ICT. What it means is that you will loose all the 4yrs experience. You can't claim points from work experience.
You can go with either of this options.
Going through study route is a longer process, and then all you would possibly get is extra 5points for studying in Australia except if you study in regional area that would fetch you extra 10points but then you might also loose point in age. So, think about it.

Nnbb please can u answer the above ques
Usually, the first degree is assessed. You cannot be given 15points for PgD but rather 10points and it must be in the same field. If you do a PgD is a different field, It may not be sufficient for positive assessment.
On the other question, once you get here as a PR holder, you can decide to do whatever you like.

I intend to apply for Bachelor program in Australia, someone suggest Charles Darwin University for me, but the school directed me to an agent since I'm applying from Nigeria. But the agent is requesting for my university transcript, account statement of minimum 7 million Naira. However, I do not have a university degree or the minimum required balance in my account neither do I have a sponsor, I'm sponsoring myself. Are the requirements mandatory for undergraduate program in Australia?

Also, someone suggested TAFESA or Chisholm for a Diploma or Advanced Diploma program, but I'm already 30, can I still apply for diploma or advanced diploma considering my age. As a side note: I have been into ICT since 2003 and freelance web development for more than 5 year, I don't know if this experience is in anyway helpful for my application.

Your advice and suggestions will be highly appreciated
If the school directed you to an agent, it means you can only get admission through the agent. You must provide whatever the requirements are. Explain your situation well to the agent and seek his advice. What qualification do you have and what course do you intend to study?

@NNBB2012.

Thanks a lot Boss, so if I Studied Nursing in Australia, I will have to apply for Post Study Work Stream After Graduation to get Work Exp as a Nurse for 2yrs and there after b4 I can apply for points towards a PR right?

I will also like to ask, if as a Student I am doing part-time work while Studying my Degree Program probably in Aged Care and Nursing Homes, can these Jobs be counted toward work exp to achieve points towards PR after graduation?

It is only work experience after your study that counts for the purpose of points. After your study, you would have to do your registration once you meet English requirement. All you need then is to gather all your points from , age, qualification, Australia study and English . I think all these would be enough without experience for your PR. And you might probably get a job as soon as you finished your registration and therefore get sponsorship. This is the reason why it is good to do a course that is in demand if one has PR in mind after study.

Still trying very hard to understand this post work stuff, so from the above, you mean after studying an advanced diploma for 2-3years, one won't still be eligible for the post grad work stream if the course is not on the SOL list? cos most if not all on the occupation requires a Bachelor degree or higher, if so that means one can't be assess with the adv dip since the requirement for the occupation is degree or higher?

Pls kindly explain in details and shed more light on this issue. tanx
That's correct. If the requirement says degree and there is no other clause like experience may substitute it, you won't get positive assessment and as such you won't be eligible for it.

Hello house, I will need an advice. For a skilled 190. I sent my skills to be accessed for 5years, however they gave me a positive assessment for 4years. What is the implication? Any advice. The period for assessment from 2009 to 2014.
The implication is that you have lost 5points from 10points that you should have got. You need to see if you still have up to the required points-60points. Basically, you need 55 points on your own and the state would give you 5points to make it 60points.

Can a Graduate with Australian Degree in Nursing Qualify for PR after Graduation without any Major work exp? And also, can such Graduate apply for State Sponsorship in any Regional Area that has Nursing on their Skill Demand List?

Studying a course is not enough to get Australian PR, one has to earn the points to be eligible. If you have the required assessment and also the points, of course, you will be eligible. It wise to do everything necessary to boost one's points such as studying in the regional area etc.

Thanks everyone, I wi ldefinitely inquiry before any comittment.

Another question which my little research hasn't been able to answer is, after an advanced diploma, how many years post graduate work permit can I get?

I know bsc and MSc and PhD lead to 18 to 4yrs.
If you meet Australian study requirements, that studying for at least 2 academic calendar years, you will be eligible for 18months provided your occupation is on the list and assessed as well. You must also meet Rnglish requirement. In a nut shell, if you study a course that is not on the list at Advanced Diploma level, you won't be eligible for it.

All right! Not at all, it is really difficult to pick their accent as an adult but a lot easier for kids that go to primary or secondary schools. Even as an adult, one may find it difficult to understand them initially but after a while one would get used to them. Yes, it is just the interest and the experience.

As a graduate of English and literary Studies is it possible to move to Australia as PR or is only the engineers that are liable for it.pls I need you people's guided advice on steps to take.thanks

Australian PR is not only for Engineers, other occupations are eligible. Check the SOL/CSOL list to see if your occupation or related occupation is there or not. What is your current occupation? It is not enough just to be a graduate of English and literary studies to be eligible for it. You must be either a Teacher of English language or journalist etc.

Hi fellas.
Please I need urgent help. I want to change career path to engineering (starting with an undergraduate study) in Australia, I already have a degree in Biochemistry (UNN). This is what I would love to study after rediscovering myself and having developed a high skill in engineering and technology. The course I studied at school wasnt really what I wanted but family and other issues made accept the offer then, but have never been able to do anything with it since graduation. I dont know if it's too late to go for this now as I am 25 now.
I know this could be a rare case, but I can bare all that is required. Should I rewrite WAEC or take A-Level exam or apply directly with my 7year old WAEC certificate and BSc transcript?
how possible is it for me to get accepted into a school that offers my course of choice and also the possibility of getting a visa approved from the embassy following my condition?
Although I believe that with God all things are possible, but I still need advice.
Please anyone with vast experience should help me out.
You are good to go. Check the course or schools you are looking at studying. It is very likely they will direct you to an agent representing the school.

Thanks Oga ferdi. Yea, Accounting is still very much in the CSOL list. I do not have ICAN yet, i read through and discovered only First degree is not sufficient to get good assessment.
Could there be an exception? I checked the Units required for Management Accountant and Accountant general, my transcript contained all the mandatory and the optional ones.
"Mandatory (you must have successfully completed these courses)
Accounting Systems and Processes
Financial Accounting
Management Accounting
Accounting Theory
Optional (you must have successfully completed at least 5 of the above listed courses)
Finance
Auditing
Commercial Law
Economics
Quantitative Methods
Information Systems Design and Development
Taxation Law
Company Law"

Has any one had a positive assessment with only 9ja Bachelors degree without ACCA,ICAN or work experience?
Thanks.

Where did you read that BSc Accounting is not sufficient for assessment? Well, I will advise you to go ahead with the assessment since you have checked and seen that the major courses are well covered in your transcript except if you know anybody that got negative assessment with his/her BSc Accounting only. Sincerely, there is no crime in taking the risk.

Great! the breakdown of your points as follow: Age-30,Edu-15,IELTS-10=55points +5points(State nomination)=60points. You are eligible for visa 190. All you need to do now which is the most critical one is your assessment with Engineers Australia. You will need to write CDR. check their website for information regarding that.

The person needs to adopt one just for your cv and that doesn't change your real name. Everybody has preferred name that is easy to pronounce by people and that is the aim.

Hello everybody in the house. I need guidance with processing of Australia PR. I studied chemical engineering in Nigeria, and I just concluded Master in Environmental and Process Engineering in Germany but without work experience, IELTS 7.5 . Will my application fly without work experience , I wish to apply for SOL. Our swift response will be appreciated.
Your application will fly . Search for my previous posts on this forum which detailed steps to take that will leadd to PR. You will definitely write CDR for your assessment with Engineers Australia. The 7.5band IELTS is it in each of the components? What is your age? Age=?, Edu=15points, Expe=0points, IELTS(7,7,7,7)=10points, confirm that.

I got your point now. You are looking for health related degrees that may lead to PR. I would strongly advise you to consider Nursing. It is a 3yrs degree and you would be eligible for your registration as RN. It is a faster path because is highly in demand on like others that you would be restricted. I would also like to mention that you should consider doing so in the regional area so that you could earn more points.

You are welcome. Tips for your cv: Your first name should be English name, Put Australian PR holder on top of your cv after your name, let your cv be achievements focussed that is how you were able to make savings etc.,your certifications would be good as well. Don't think only one cv would do; try and update your cv from time to time. Keep applying and don't give up.
