johnsontade: I agree with you. However, the people that I mentioned are Nigerians who I personally mentored and put through in this. As a matter of fact, fresh graduates without experience are all welcome provided that they can work. |

johnsontade:It is very possible to write CDR based on undergraduate work and still get positive outcome in the assessment, although it may be difficult to write but with little guidance it will fly. |

Swimgood: I think the main reason why it was refused is just the insufficient fund in the account. Based on what you have stated, you sufficiently proved that you have every reason to come back home and not otherwise. If you really keen about it, I would advise you to get the issue of fund/account statement right and then re-apply. |

Swimgood: The best thing is to go for Tourist visa but you need to adequately prove it since you don't have any close family member here. |

Swimgood: What program exactly do you want to do in Australia? Do you have any close relation in Australia e.g Father,Mother,Brother or Sister? If yes, you could do tourist visa easily. In applying for Australia visa, you must get the facts and the requirements right. There is no short-cut. One could get refusal severally if care is not taken. So, your clear purpose of travelling must be defined in order to guide you a right. |

iceberg54:You are very close to getting your PR. All you need to do now is to gather the documents for your assessment and quickly submit them. You can get your assessment done even within 24hrs by Engineers Australia. Goodluck. |

BKings: It is not compulsory to use calculations, drawings etc. They really care less about alot of technical jargons. It doesn't matter where you work, but what really counts is that your CDR must addressed the tasks expected a Mechanical Engineer to perform- "Plans, designs, organises and oversees the assembly, erection, operation and maintenance of mechanical and process plant and installations". So, relate whatever projects you carried out to those items. You can also use your undergraduate projects as well. Just put something together. |

BKings: I will advise that you should go through the Engineers Australia's migration guideline in the link below and follow it. The CDR is just your involvement in any project that you have executed in the past. I can help you review it once you finish. https://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/sites/default/files/shado/About%20Us/Migration%20Skills%20Assessment/msa_booklet_2016.pdf |

mctowel01:If you can get 8points from ielts, then you are good to go for 189 subclass-which is skilled independent. Your NYSC is not even a requirement for your assessment. Nobody cares about it here; all that matters is your ability to earn points. However, it may hunt you later in the nearest future in Nigeria. |
Travel / Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by NNBB2012: 5:17am On Dec 22, 2015 |
mctowel01:You can write CDR with your internship and any project you did during your undergraduate years. Age: 30 Nigerian qualification: 15 Ielts of min 7: 10. If you can get this, you will have 55points on your own. State Nomination: 5 or Regional area: 10 With this, you could end up having 60points for visa 190 or 65 for visa489, which is 2 years temporary visa in regional area which is a path way to PR. Your starting point is to sit for IELTS. If you do and get the result sufficient for assessmen i.e at least 6,6,6,6, you can then commence your assessment process. I am sure you will get positive assessment. |

mctowel01: I had already replied your post where you quoted me before seen this. You did not sound as someone genuinely seeking for answers but rather as someone who is well experienced in the subject matter. Well, as someone has told you to take your time and read through the pages in this thread and you will get answers to your numerous questions. Your case is simple. You could get positive assessment provided you follow the right procedures. As I can see from your information, you are eligible for PR without necessarily going through the study path but you just need to gather the required points . Good luck! |

mctowel01: You do not need Australian MSc either to get positive assessment from Engineers Australia as a graduate of Engineering from Nigeria. Some Engineering degrees at MSc level are not even accredited by Engineers Australia. The implication is that you will still need to write your CDR provided that you have first degree in Engineering which is even enough on its own to get you positive assessment. You can only be eligible for post-study visa if you meet the criteria which is at least minimum of 2years study. After studying here, there is no guarantee of securing a job in your field to enable you get the experience that will be required due to your visa limitation, particularly in Engineering. So, the main thing is that, if you can gather your 60points overseas, then go for it. Studying here does not automatically lead to PR, you just need to get your qualification assessed positively and earn the points. |

Travel / Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by NNBB2012: 6:26am On Dec 16, 2015 |
KIKIADE:No, you don't need to pay as at the time of your application. I will still advise you to lodge it together even if it means borrowing the money. Lodging their application separately will eventually cost you more and it is a long journey. Your wife will not be given PR directly but rather spouse visa, which is temporary for two years before PR. I beg look for the money. 1 Like |

Cribking1: It is important to read carefully the requirements of any assessing body before applying for assessment. Vetassess gave you negative outcome because they discovered that your current work experience is at variance with your qualification. Check both SOL/CSOL lists again to see if you could find another occupation. |

bellong: No, he doesn't need 1 yr experience to write CDR. I used to think the same way before until I read it again and did experiment it with 2-3 people and it came out well. It is difficult to write it though but it is something that he should be able to write. He can write on his IT (SIWES) experience, final year project and any research that he was involved in etc. |

ENGRJCJ: I can see that you are eligible but you don't have sufficient points at the moment. Research previous posts on this thread you will have all that you need to avoid using an agent. You basically need 60points altogether. And the best thing to do is to enrol for PTE Academics to gain required points from English test. At the moment, you can proceed with your assessment with Engineers Australia. It is possible to get positive assessment within 24hours provided that you can pay more. Check the website for the details. |
