I know its very possible but why i was skeptical about it is because the people i've seen scale through with this are mainly the Asians especially the Indians and its probably because their undergraduate engineering study is more intensive than ours with more quality school project to prove their competency. Like someone said, through a stone in a crowd of people in India 5 times and you should be sure it would hit engineer at least once smiley

Those guys too like engineering and are being taught intensively and undergo more rigorously research(es)...remember the Theraja & Rajput engineering textbooks we used during our undergraduate days.

I agree with you. However, the people that I mentioned are Nigerians who I personally mentored and put through in this. As a matter of fact, fresh graduates without experience are all welcome provided that they can work.

I think your assessment outcome depends on the Engineers Australia assessor handling your application.

Some people with postgraduate work experience in good coys still don't get assessed as Engineering technologist cos their Assessor wasn't satisfied with their CDR so i seriously doubt if he/she will be satisfied with just your internship and sch project to classify you as a Professional Engineer.

I wrote my episodes based on my experience and backed them up with my companies reference letter as stated by EA.

I guess you mixed it up. I declared my work experience in both EA and Dibp application but didn't just claim point as i already had 65 points without it.
It is very possible to write CDR based on undergraduate work and still get positive outcome in the assessment, although it may be difficult to write but with little guidance it will fly.

That's what am saying I have read this forum from beginning till end(took me 3 days) before I applied for this I used their checklist to check that my application was complete I sent... I sent a letter from my school my graduation year and month , my brothers account, the university in Sydney admission letter and even accommodation details cos I secured dat. And some police checks and insurance..even did medicals cos I will be entering a hospital environment.
So they said I hv no travel history(truly) and I hv no intent to come back home (like serzly! I hv spent 5 yearin med school why wunt I come to graduate!) And dat my bro account ain't sufficient at the moment.

I think the main reason why it was refused is just the insufficient fund in the account. Based on what you have stated, you sufficiently proved that you have every reason to come back home and not otherwise. If you really keen about it, I would advise you to get the issue of fund/account statement right and then re-apply.

It is a training program. Which we med students undergo in anypart of the world like an IT which will last for 2months.
I don't have any close relation.in Aussie I just picked interest In the country because of its growing healthcare opportunity and I intend coming back to complete and graduate here(obviously) a tourist visa allows you study for 3 mths maximum.

The best thing is to go for Tourist visa but you need to adequately prove it since you don't have any close family member here.

Please sir reply reply to my query please

What program exactly do you want to do in Australia? Do you have any close relation in Australia e.g Father,Mother,Brother or Sister? If yes, you could do tourist visa easily.

In applying for Australia visa, you must get the facts and the requirements right. There is no short-cut. One could get refusal severally if care is not taken. So, your clear purpose of travelling must be defined in order to guide you a right.

Wow!!! Congrats my bro!!! I cant believe it! You wont believe it that my own has been hanging since may 22 2015!....... They even requested for more information just yesterday! This is like the fourth request on the roll, each taking weeks! I sent the last docs since 30 november and just heard from them yesterday. Yours is in record time and needs to enter the Guiness book of records! Mine is on the way.......

Congratulations! It clearly shows that when you do the right thing you will get fast and positive result, particularly, on PR issue.

@NNBB2012

My issue is this, I've seen some CDR samples and design and calculations were involved in them but there's nothing of such I did. My experience is based on how I overhauled a knocked diesel generator. No design or calculations. So should I go ahead and say what and what I did to bring a dead generator tho life. Will they accept it? Again I studied mechanical engineering but I work in telecom service company, though my job roles are mechanical, will I have a problem? Thanks

It is not compulsory to use calculations, drawings etc. They really care less about alot of technical jargons. It doesn't matter where you work, but what really counts is that your CDR must addressed the tasks expected a Mechanical Engineer to perform-
"Plans, designs, organises and oversees the assembly, erection, operation and maintenance of mechanical and process plant and installations". So, relate whatever projects you carried out to those items. You can also use your undergraduate projects as well. Just put something together.

I will advise that you should go through the Engineers Australia's migration guideline in the link below and follow it. The CDR is just your involvement in any project that you have executed in the past. I can help you review it once you finish.

Good morning house I've been refused an Australian visa thrice so I met this man he works with the Canadian embassy in Abuja like he said he deals with Canadian, USA and Australian work visa. Anyway we talk about getting an Australian work visa, I've been reading about it but the way he explained to me i'm not convinced. He said I will pay him when the visa comes out from Pretoria, that I can verify it at the airport, call the embassy in Pretoria or via VEVO before paying him. All he said he needs to a start is my passport bio data page, two white background passport photographs, then I will go to Australian embassy in Abuja for my biometric before sending. I asked him what about when I'm in Australia what would happen he said they have officials there at the airport that no problem, I asked about PR he said he will link me with someone there that will put me through from Pretoria( I said to myself hmmmm). I'm very confused cause all what he's saying aren't really with what I've been reading online concerning all classes of Australian work visa. Please help oooo cause I don't want to get in there and have problem. Waiting to hear from good and experience people here. Thanks y'all

One chance!

Hello, I do appreciate your posts here especially on pr issues, I got a positive assessment from vetasses for environmental scientist 'nec' some weeks back, I did PTE, which was where I flopped especially in the speaking and listening part, I got over 70 in both writing and reading though, I was actually targeting 190 visa for south australia but looks as if since my pte test scores is not up to the required score in all components, I may not have enough points to apply for nomination, Please what do you advise and is there any other province that has my occupation? Thanks

I will advise you to try it again before opting for Regional visa. What did you score in your first attempt?

Wow... Thanks, so once my skills have been accessed by EA, i wont be needing to show work experience if i can get up to 60 points for 190. Are the state nd or regional areas compulsory considering if(assuming) one gets 8 in ielts.

Edited
I just read about nomination requirement by state by using EOI. What are my chances of being chosen if I apply to all states with my present qualification?
If you can get 8points from ielts, then you are good to go for 189 subclass-which is skilled independent. Your NYSC is not even a requirement for your assessment. Nobody cares about it here; all that matters is your ability to earn points. However, it may hunt you later in the nearest future in Nigeria.
Travel / Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by NNBB2012: 5:17am On Dec 22, 2015
mctowel01:

My tone is in regards to mostly fresh graduates from Nigeria who have no experience and no higher qualification apart from bsc. Can they get the cdr with just bsc and without any experience or added family member?
You can write CDR with your internship and any project you did during your undergraduate years.

Age: 30
Nigerian qualification: 15
Ielts of min 7: 10. If you can get this, you will have 55points on your own.
State Nomination: 5
or Regional area: 10
With this, you could end up having 60points for visa 190 or 65 for visa489, which is 2 years temporary visa in regional area which is a path way to PR.

Your starting point is to sit for IELTS. If you do and get the result sufficient for assessmen i.e at least 6,6,6,6, you can then commence your assessment process. I am sure you will get positive assessment.

Hello everyone. I ll be very glad to get your kind responses to this

I want to migrate to australia through masters in Electrical Engineering. I read elect elect bsc in unilag with a 3.0/5. I also want to use the post study 2 yrs and also process my PR from there. My service will start june/july 2016 to may/june 2017. I dont have work experience. I am planning my masters resumption with july 2017 in take.

1. I am planning to write my ielts by december 2016. I also want to use the same ielts result for all my processing there, ie student visa, scholarships/internships available, 2 years post study visa and finally PR(189 visa). I ve read that to get PR, the ielts result has a validity of 3 years, how true is this?
Will this be possible to use the same ielts result especially till the PR stage

2. Is transiting from student visa to the 2 years post study 485 visa an easy process? Hence howlong does it take? Can i use the remaining visa time after my msc to get it. Will it be an easy process? Can someone tell me the neccesary conditions and documents required for it? Will it be an easy process. I ve read about it from other sites, but i m quite scared on this plan, so can an experienced person tell me/ give me assurance.

3. My plan on getting the PR is
Age: 30
Australian qualification: 15
2 years study in australia: 5
Regional area: 5
Ieslt of min 7: 10
Total: 65

I ll be choosing skill on SOL as Electrical Engineering. What are my chances?

My bsc is of 4 years cos i came through direst entry from diploma to 200 level.
I read about getting skill assessment from engineers australia. Will my bsc status with 4 years from nigeria cause any problems even with my msc from australia in the same course.

Finaly, i also read that to use the independent 189 visa(no work experience) the final qualification should be at most 6 months before PR application. How fast will the previois applications be to enable me still get 3 years ielts validity(if i write it in latest jan 2017) in order to apply for the PR.

I am suprised reading down, i have not seen many apply through this route(2 yrs aus msc with no experience) Someone pls rate my plans and chances of getting a PR on a 100 scale. I ll gladly glady appreciate. Thanks for even taken time to read down. Responses are warmly welcomed.

I had already replied your post where you quoted me before seen this. You did not sound as someone genuinely seeking for answers but rather as someone who is well experienced in the subject matter. Well, as someone has told you to take your time and read through the pages in this thread and you will get answers to your numerous questions.

Your case is simple. You could get positive assessment provided you follow the right procedures. As I can see from your information, you are eligible for PR without necessarily going through the study path but you just need to gather the required points . Good luck!
Travel / Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by NNBB2012: 11:53pm On Dec 21, 2015
mctowel01:

At the bolded. Australia gives a 2 years post study visa which in some applications like with Engineer Australia, you dont need work experience after msc studies to get a PR. Jst get up to 60 points and proceed from there. And the two years are enough to get the PR and get a job

You do not need Australian MSc either to get positive assessment from Engineers Australia as a graduate of Engineering from Nigeria. Some Engineering degrees at MSc level are not even accredited by Engineers Australia. The implication is that you will still need to write your CDR provided that you have first degree in Engineering which is even enough on its own to get you positive assessment.

You can only be eligible for post-study visa if you meet the criteria which is at least minimum of 2years study. After studying here, there is no guarantee of securing a job in your field to enable you get the experience that will be required due to your visa limitation, particularly in Engineering. So, the main thing is that, if you can gather your 60points overseas, then go for it. Studying here does not automatically lead to PR, you just need to get your qualification assessed positively and earn the points.

With regards to your nominated occupation, please note that your CDR are not at the level of a professional Electrical Engineer(233311).
They can offer me two possible outcome:
1.Based on the current CDR submitted they can award me Engineering technologist (233914)
2. Submit a new CDR that specifically address the skill and competences of professional Electrical engineer, with a new summary statement and i will consider the outcome professional Electrical engineer (233311), there is no guarantee you will receive this outcome.

Please house what is your advise?

Its urgent.

NNBB2012 sir,
If I include them as a non- migrating family members, will I still pay the immigration fee of 1530 for spouse and 755 on each child for the PR lodging application. kindly response .thanks.
No, you don't need to pay as at the time of your application. I will still advise you to lodge it together even if it means borrowing the money. Lodging their application separately will eventually cost you more and it is a long journey. Your wife will not be given PR directly but rather spouse visa, which is temporary for two years before PR. I beg look for the money.

Good Afternoon to all the gurus in the house, Please I need your advice.

I just got a negative assessment from Vetassess on the basis that the role performed in my current job as a Field Technician is not related to that of my nominated occupation (Forester/Forest Scientist).

I studied Forest Resources Management at the University of Ibadan and had worked as a Field worker between 2010-2012 before I was promoted to the position of a Field Technician in 2012 and I am still working with the private Forestry organization till date. Due to ASUU strike , I graduated in April;2014 instead of 2013, so my post qualification work experience is just 1 year.

At this juncture, I am feeling so discouraged and confused, don't know the steps to take to actualize my dream of working in OZ. I don't know any close occupation to choose that would give me a positive assessment or get me to OZ. Brothers and Sisters, please help me

It is important to read carefully the requirements of any assessing body before applying for assessment. Vetassess gave you negative outcome because they discovered that your current work experience is at variance with your qualification. Check both SOL/CSOL lists again to see if you could find another occupation.

Please NNBB2012, Do you know anyone who uploaded coloured copies recently with no hassles? I just uploaded all my scanned documents and there is no way to delete them and I just saw this on the checklist

" All supporting documents must be scanned and uploaded with your application. All documents that you provide must be certified copies of original documents. Do not include original documents unless specifically requested to do so by the department. Documents not in English must be accompanied by accredited English translations"
.
No issue bro, you are fine. Go ahead and upload every other document such as form 80 etc. Also arrange your medical, don't wait until you are asked to do so. You could get direct grant without the case officer contacting you similar to my case.

@NNBB2012,

I think he needs at least one year work experience. Without it, how will he write his CDR? Except he performed engineering duties in NYSC.

Oo, you need at least minimum of 7point in each band to get a point for language. The 6.5 cannot fly.

www.skillselect.gov.au

That is the website to start from, it has all info you need.

No, he doesn't need 1 yr experience to write CDR. I used to think the same way before until I read it again and did experiment it with 2-3 people and it came out well. It is difficult to write it though but it is something that he should be able to write. He can write on his IT (SIWES) experience, final year project and any research that he was involved in etc.

Please am I qualified? How do I start? Please help

I can see that you are eligible but you don't have sufficient points at the moment. Research previous posts on this thread you will have all that you need to avoid using an agent. You basically need 60points altogether. And the best thing to do is to enrol for PTE Academics to gain required points from English test.

At the moment, you can proceed with your assessment with Engineers Australia. It is possible to get positive assessment within 24hours provided that you can pay more. Check the website for the details.
