Jetspeed: Sincerely, your own case seems to be straight forward because of your MBA which is an AQF level 8 in Australia. On your own, check if ACCA is equivalent to AQF level 7 or 8 in Australia. I would also advise you to pay for their advisory path just to be sure if you would be given positive assessment. It is cheaper and quicker than the actual assessment. You can read the requirement of Internal Auditor from the link below. http://www.vetassess.com.au/Portals/0/Downloads/qualification_assessment/InternalAuditor.pdf?v=100 |

MASMEK2016: What programme are you pursuing at University of Newcastle? You won't get positive assessment from Vetassess with this qualifications mentioned above since what is required is minimum Australian Bachelor degree equivalent. HND is equivalent to 2yrs Advanced Diploma in Australia not even 3yrs Associate Degree. Do not waste your money at this juncture. The best thing is to ensure you do a MSc or Australian Bachelor degree before you can be assessed positively by Vetasses. |

chuckdee13:I will advise you to stick to Petroleum Engineer and write your cdr on experience gained during your IT or any related to Petroleum Engineering so that you can nominate Petroleum Engineer. Be aware that your 1.5yrs experience in Chemical Engineering will not fetch you any point. Just avoid complication otherwise you might be given Engineering Technologist. They are two different occupations. |
Travel / Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by NNBB2012: 11:43pm On Mar 07, 2016 |
chuckdee13:How years of experience do you have? If you have less than 3yrs in Chemical, I would suggest you should just base your CDR on Chemical engineering projects you did during your undergraduate years so as to avoid complication/mismatch of duties and just nominate chemical engineer. |

mrkayodeoludare:Spouse qualification regardless whether PhD/MSc/BSc/HND WON'T give you an extra 5points unless if the occupation is assessed by an Assessing body and in the same list with the principal's occupation. Partner skills You can receive five points if, when you are invited to apply for this visa, your partner provides evidence that they: were under 50 years of age had at least competent English had nominated an occupation on the same skilled occupation list as your nominated occupation had been assessed by the relevant assessing authority as having suitable skills for the nominated occupation. 3 Likes |

teflondon77: What program are you going for? What's your background? You could go for an extra semester to make it 2yrs. You do another program entirely. |

johnHadey:1.5yrs does not qualify you for post-study visa. This is stated clearly from the link you misquoted from. To be eligible for post-study visa, you need to do 2yrs of academic study. 1 Like |

Bambizzle4k4556: You do not need to apply for another Master in Australia. You are eligible for PR because of your Engineering degree. Read previous posts on this thread and you will be able to do it yourself. If you need to consult an Agent, you will definitely be charged. |

jorgan: It is important for you to understand what you want to do before you take steps with respect to your study. Studying in Australia does not automatically lead to PR, you just need to earn the points although it may contribute to points provided that you meet Australian study requirement. If you study a course that is not on the skills occupation list, it won't lead to PR if at all you spend years doing that. There are two streams of Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485): Graduate-work stream (18months) and Post-study work stream ( 2yrs-4yrs) depending on your degree. To be eligible for graduate-work stream, you need to meet Australian study requirements which minimum of 2 academic years or 16months of study or 92 weeks of study. And also the course has to be recognised and you need to obtain positive assessment from the respective assessing body. To gain positive assessment alone, most assessing bodies require minimum of 1 yr experience. Meanwhile, you will earn extra 5 points for studying in Australia and points for studying in regional area which is a plus for you. Likewise, to be eligible for post-study work stream, you need to meet Australian study requirements which minimum of 2 academic years or 16months of study or 92 weeks of study at minimum BSc level. However, this one does not require an assessment. You will get the following years: BSc/MSc/MSc ext-2yrs,MSc by research-3yrs and PhD-4yrs. So, think very well before you choose a particular course. Do a course that will ultimately lead to jobs after and that helps you get your PR. 8 Likes |

kunlenchy:As you had been rightly advised by EA, they cannot assess your qualification. The best thing to do is to approach ACS and make sure you support your application with enough supporting documents. Your experience must reflect what it is expected form the occupation you are nominating. I can assure you that you would get positive assessment outcome from ACS with about 2years reduction in your years of experience which will still earn you 10points at least in experience. Your points will still be more than enough to get invitation for 189 visa. Congrats, you have an impressive points. |
