I think what he means is, is he sure the occupation does not require a Bachelor's degree
Ok. I thought he was trying to know the points HND qualification will get. The required qualification for Property Manager is Cert III or Cert IV according to Vetasses.

Will HND come off as Aussie's bachelors degree equivalent? Or is that equivalence not required for d nominated occupation?

HND is equivalent to Aussie's 2years Advanced Diploma which is 10points.

Hahaha....but for a new migrant, it's almost sure you will qualify. Whatever it is sha, the rebate slashes it in half tho, regardless of your income.
Sure, I concur. However, one needs to update their income with the centrelink to avoid paying back to the government at the end of the financial year.

Hello everyone...bosslady,NNB012 and others....
My occupation human resources advisor is on d csol,I ave decided to pick anoda close to it on d Sol list....occupational health and safety advisor. I ave a btech in agric econs and MBA in HRM,am 33yrs married with a son.... I have 8 yrs in all for experience but 4 yrs in ds particular occupation.Confirmed my assessment is to be done by vetasses. Please help confirm if am in tune so far before I submit for assessment.
Also for assessment, do we just scan all documents inclusive transcripts, but dey ave also requested d skol sends d transcript directly....
Please kindly shed more light, also breakdown my points and wat visa class I will fall to.
Many thanks

It would be great if you could get positive assessment from Vetasses with the occupation as health and safety advisor. You stand a better chance than HR adviser in that you could apply for 189 provided that you have the required points-60. Vetasses is your assessing authority for both occupations. Check their requirements and run with it.

If you are a PR and working, then it wont be so expensive, as you qualify for the child care benefit and child care rebate.

Yes, you eligible but be aware that child care benefit is income tested so it is not everybody that gets that. The prayer should be let me not be among those that collect that.

Hello my people,

I'm happy to announce the outcome of my PTEA scores (L 90, W 90, R79, S 71). If thank God for everything. It's a pity the owner of the place kept shouting while I was writing the test. I personally begged him to stop the madness but i guess he thought his business was more important.
Congrats.

Dear bosslady,
your counsel will be highly appreciated.
I submitted EOI to western Australia for program/project administrator over two months ago. yet to be nominated. I have 60 points with state nomination, in few months, i will lose 10 points because of age. The only other state with this occupation is Adelaide, they require 80 points to apply, I cannot make this 80 point even with superior English (retake IELTS).
Do you think going for 489 may make a difference in the nomination for western Australia even though i still need to get a job in the region if i am nominated.
I know you were on 489 and converted to 190 within months of arrival. Am thinking of this, please kindly advice me.
Thank you

Unfortunately, your occupation is not on SOL list hence you cannot apply for 189 and there are only two states,WA and SA that can nominate you. These states have strict conditions that you must meet which I doubt if you currently have them. For example, since your occupation is on schedule 2, it means you must have employment contract,English requirement and sufficient fund. The main reason why you have not been invited is because of the Employment contract. Do you have one now? And even 489 visa have similar conditions, so that does not help matter.
The only thing I think you could do is to take a look at the list and see any occupation you feel that matches your qualification cum your experience and go for it. Australian migration requires thorough analysis before venturing into it in the first place.

Dear All,

Good day,

I just started reading this trend today and i have learnt some valuable lessons from the trend. However, i will appreciate further guidance that will assist in the completion of my application for Australian Permanent Residency permit.

I have checked the Online Points Test for Skilled Migration and below is the response i got from the tool.

"Skilled Migration Points Test Results
Your score is: 60

As the pass mark for Skilled - Independent Subclass 189 is 60, you would appear to meet the criteria for this type of visa.

I am married with 2 kids.
I am a chartered accountant (ICAN). I have a Bsc certificate in banking and Finance.
I have worked for over 6 years (5 years in Procurement and over 1 year in Internal Audit(current function)).
I have done my IELTS and the results are:
L-7.5
R-7.5
S-7.5
W-7.0.
Kindly advise on the next line of action and any other valuable contribution(s) will be highly appreciated.

Please assist.
Next thing is to apply for your assessment with your assessing authority. And make sure that your experience matches the job description of your nominated occupation. Read previous posts on this forum and understand the steps. You are almost there because you have already gotten the required points.

Hi bosslady ,please answer this my question.can Australia permanent residency visa holder who have not stayed up to 5 years in Australia be allowed to travel out of Australia to his home country temporarily for a period of one month and then return back to Australia still retaining his permanent residency

You can travel as long as you wish just that if you do more than 3 months at go, it may affect your residency calculation during your citizenship application.

You have to study a minimum of 2 yrs.

Even with that, there is no guarantee that the person will be eligible. You must earn the required points.

You can mail EA to advise you before you submit your application-memberservices@engineersaustralia.org.au. Personally,I do not see any issue since EA says, " to be recognised as Professional Engineer, you must have completed 4 years Australian Bachelor degree in Engineering or overseas equivalent".

Australia doesn't have family sponsorship without individual merits. U can sponsor her if u live in a region and donate only five points.

She can enrol for nursing if there is will and cash. From there she builds her points.
Nomination by an eligible Family in a region is 10points.

Hm, that 3yrs alone is an issue. Even Vetassess finds it difficult to equate 4yrs Nigerian degree to 4yrs Australian degree. Well, I would say you should try. It is a risk you need to consider.

Luckily, VETASSESS does not need an English test before assessment.

Whao! That's good to know. I have not taken anybody through them before. I think they will probably be the only assessing authority that doesn't require English.

Yea the occupation is mixed crop and livestock farmer....the code is 121411....I fink there are other jobs I can apply for but I just chose this one....
So what's a state nomination ?
Good on you then. You need to check the assessing authority to know their requirements.
State nominated visa enables you to stay in that state for 2yrs before you can move to other places. You need to meet the conditions of the state before you can be nominated. A quick check suggested that you could be nominated by SA,Qld, and WA. Check their individual requirements and see the one that you can meet.
More importantly, assessment has to be done and points calculated to see if you could get at least 55points on your own. Google how points are calculated. Basically, points are allocated to Age,qualification, experience,English test, nomination etc.

Haha.

Many ppl have complained Naija ICT degrees are being equated to Associate Degrees by ACS.

I know of at least 2 people that got assessed by ACS with Nigerian qualification and they didn't have issue. Anyone that did 5years degree course shouldn't have issue. But with a Nigerian 4years degree, it would be equated to Associate Degree.

Hello house!

-when applying for my transcript, do i need to apply for two copies? As in one for VETASSESS and another for visa application?

-since i do not Have upto 3 year of work experience and i'm not claiming point for work experience, do i need to submit employment letter, tax cert, payslips etc?

-do i need to sit for ielts before applying for assessment From vetassess?

cc: bossladymo1, NNBB2012, ferdimako, surveyor1

You will need transcripts for both assessment and immigration. Vet assess requires that transcript should be sent directly from school, and immigration needs certified copy only. If your school could give you a copy before sending it to Vetassess that would be great.

You need to submit evidence of 1yr experience to Vetassess for assessment.
You need evidence of English before assessment. Check if Vetasses requires other test of English.

Ok thanks. But that is if EA were accepting PTE academics

EA doesn't accept PTE A they only accept either IELTS A or G for assessment. You stand a better chance though of scoring high band in PTE Academics for the purpose of migration points which has nothing to do with EA assessment.

Considering the fact that I will be loosing 5 points by november, I want to ask if it's possible to still go for 190 or the 489 with 50 points, or must it be up to 55?

You could as well boost your points via English test either IELTS or PTE-Academics although either 190 or 489 visa is another alternative.

@NNBB2012,
Don't you think the Chemistry teacher would need to have bagged B.Ed(Chemistry) as against B.Sc? Just asking.

It may not be necessary based on what they specified on their website. It is state on their website that 'Secondary school teacher should be able to teach one or more subjetcs'. The qualification required is Bachelor degree or Higher degree. It is always good to try them.

I have a family member who is a lawyer and has done his masters with 3 yrs working experience in a BAR...can he apply, and i also have a secondary school chemistry teacher with b.sc in chemistry and master degree with 4 years working...can he also apply?
Thanks.

Sure, they can apply since their occupations are on the list. However, they need to follow through the process step by step. You can read through previous posts on this forum which outlined steps to follow. The most important part of the whole process is to get positive assessment from relevant assessing body. The remaining parts is to get points that can be substantiated. So, as for the barrister, it may be a bit tough though. He needs SLAA assessment which is not straight forward. He might need to do some examination to get licence here in Australia. I have not seen any Lawyer that migrated that one could you as reference. However, I have seen Lawyers from Nigeria that had to go back and study Law at undergraduate here because of stress of obtaining legal licence here in Australia. At least, I know two people.
